Which is really just Ash's journey but with Cinder getting dragged along because they carry the only brain cells for the entire group.

That and because Ash is the only person who can convince Cinder it's "easier to play human and not try solving everything with murder or mind wiping, please for the love of Ho-Oh, Mewtwo stop threatening everyone or I will chuck a pokeball at your head." - ash probably

Feel free to ask questions on how different cannon situations play out with the new face! (Though my memory of Pokémon is mainly the movies, the first series, and XYZ I'll do my best)

Cinder does not take well to being called a pretender. Nor having the peace disrupted when Team Rocket's goons manage to track them down.

I feel as though it would only be in the series that Cinder gets revealed as Mewtwo. In all the movies it would be Cinder doing the impossible or unnerving that only long time fans would understand what's going on.

Like a one vs forty plus the trainers with Cinder going "I'll hold them off" and Ash being the only nonchalant one about it. Only popping back up like, "what I miss?" after taking care of all the loose ends.

so when cinder and ash are old enough to go on their pokemon journey would cinder always stick by ash's side? or would they try to have an adventure of their own?

Cinder would definitely be by Ash's side!

Even if Cinder (Mewtwo) believes everyone to be terrible beings who only have selfish goals, they don't have the heart to tell Ash to not go and pursue his dream.

And while I don't believe Cinder would have Pokémon of their own do to internal conflict and trauma for now, I do think they'd follow Ash to keep him from dying due to his own reckless behavior. Just not really trying to stop him from ending up in those situations lol

"I told you so" would be a very common phrase for Cinder with that steep learning curve. After all, Ash is Cinder's twin, there has to be sibling shenanigans somewhere :)

On a side note for personal adventures: Cinder in his normal form as Mewtwo would 100% challenge Ash's Pokémon for the heck of it due to competitiveness by claiming it's to strengthen them. Or wander off into the woods to let off steam by punching the closest wild Pokémon bullying others.

Cinder and Ash have that in common.

So dumb idea inspired by the Malamar Beeheyem episode where they mind control peeps but it apparently doesn't work on stupid people it'd be so funny if because Delia is usually pretty easy going lax no troubles little air headed that Cinders memory altering just pft didn't work because her brain actually picked up on the fact the memories seemed off as her usual thoughts are more floaty, just Delia who knows she's acquired a child and doesn't even let on she knows just thinks they've ran away from home potentially from abuse and so she's gonna give that baby a safe place to life

Delia who is also might be convinced Cinder might be a Zorua, but also!!! That doesn't matter cause that's HER Wolf fox creature puppy child now.

Yes Delia was definitely suspicious from the start!

As a single mom for two vastly different kids I feel as though her fragmented memories altered by Cinder (Mewtwo) would clash with what she observes.

Owning a restaurant with S tier food combined with her and Ash's huge appetites', she'd see the cracks in Cinder's eating habits instantly after the 'twins' find their way back home. Not that she'd mine in the slightest :)

Hiding old refrigerator photos of her and Ash to stop them from finding proof that she knows, checking to see if Cinder's form is an illusion with Mr. Mime, she definitely safety checked that glass cannon so quick Cinder didn't even have time to hide what they were lol

Lost & Found

I changed a small thing on how Ash and Cinder (Mewtwo) meet. Itty bitty tiny thing. Ash doesn't get lost while at some Pokémon camp. (I misremembered the plot of the episode - < -) but rather during the time Ash gets lost in the forest believing he can go on an adventure as a five year old.

The big tree in the cannon episode Ash hides in during a storm with Pokémon is now used in my AU where Ash meets an injured, very traumatized Mewtwo. Ash still hides out from the rain with Pokémon for a short while and his resolve to travel the world with them is unchanged.

Just now, it marks where the lost become found.

Twin Duo: Cinder reference sheet

It was a bit tricky getting a design that I liked and so far I've landed on this. Have to admit I'm torn between the hairstyles but I do like the outcome!

On a side note have some lore on Mewtwo's human name!

In the AU Ash was the one trying to pick something that didn't sound like a Pokémon's name, matched with his, and at the same time appealed to Mewtwo.

As for my own reasons the Pokémon franchise has Mewtwo voiced by many different people, I wanted the name to work with any of the voices for Mewtwo in human form. Hence, Cinder!

I hope the name is likeable :)

Twin Duo casually showcasing Cinder's (Mewtwo) desperate need to not be alone and have an actual caring family.

Also Cinder's normal form during this time is the same height of Ash when he first started his journey in the cannon series. (4'7) I just think that's funny.

In the beginning their sleeping pile became the norm very quickly. One to help Cinder take a break from holding up a human form by hiding their true silhouette in the dark, but also to provide needed comfort.

Cinder (Mewtwo) used illusion and manipulated peoples minds with Ash's help to come back from camp as his "twin" seamlessly. The entire plan was all five year old Ash's scheming and Mewtwo's lack of moral code just following along.

Someone was nerve wracked the entire time at the start and it definitely wasn't Ash. At least messing with peoples minds by putting in fake memories was for a good cause.

Twin Duo AU and wow do I have a lot to talk about!

In the beginning Ash is the one to jump to every conclusion, being a curious and energetic kid. While it did lead to him convincing Mewtwo to be his twin, his personality also takes him into a lot of trouble just like canon.

The difference now is the fact he has an overpowered best friend who is 100% ready to hit back bullies. And uh, solve with a permanent solution if needed.

Listen early on Mewtwo just broke out of a torture chamber and solved all their problems with murder, the traumatized bean knows nothing but violence against scientist and counting fingers from their dead friend Ai.

Mewtwo will do whatever it takes to protect Ash.

Twin duo AU

An AU where a five year old Ash meets Mewtwo, who did an early prison break, in the woods when he gets lost and the two decide to become twins. Mainly Mewtwo just being dragged along for the ride and pretending to be human.

Think about it, think about the possibilities! Yes we are going into a mini ice age of my brain rot over Pokémon. BUT THINK ABOUT THIS PAIR. So please, ask away questions as I make art and give crumbs of content. I need to word vomit over the AU.
