ive been writing new stuff about rune and genevieve (no one is surprised) and i have discovered that genevieve?? loves PDA. you take a woman who hasn’t had a serious romantic relationship in... (checks watch) ever because she married her job, give her a boy(them?) toy in the form of rune, sit back, and you’ll see that this woman wants to be touching her hot stud partner at all times.

i wrote a double date between another party pc (Alexi), her girlfriend, and then rune and genevieve, and let me tell you: rune and genevieve are obnoxious. Once rune actually like...calms down and is like “yeah i like her and this is ok” they commit 110%. genevieve’s like “can i nuzzle you in public” and rune’s like “yeah sure thing tutz” bc they don’t give enough of a shit to not do it. couple that with the fact that genevieve’s like “i love you so much and i want to touch you and kiss you and hug you where other people can see so they know how lucky i am” and you’ve got a recipe for the world’s most extreme displays of PDA.

i hate them. i love them so much.

and i mean...who is really going to stop them? genevieve is richer than god, and rune could crush your head with their bare hands. this is not that conducive to people telling them to stop doing something. genevieve and rune just have this unhinged vibe about them that makes people stop and question “hey, do i really want to kick this particular hornet’s nest today?” the answer is always no.

genevieve is feeding rune chocolate covered strawberries in public and rune’s eating them (leaves and all) while alexi and her girlfriend are looking on in abject horror. this is the worst double date they’ve ever been on. rune and genevieve are having a great time. they’re playing a game ranking how hard it would be to kill the waitress. they’ve decided that getting blood all over the expensive floors in this restaurant would be the worst part of this plan (and not, y’know, taking an innocent life)

i love rune and genevieve dearly, fuck.

jennie made a great point about their story being one of two outcasts, two abnormal people finding each other and therefore finding acceptance, kinship, and understanding with each other. they’re absolutely fucking bonkers, but they’re bonkers in compatible ways.

i think it’s beautiful.

are they romantically involved? ...kind of? they fuck, they hang out, they’re best friends, rune’s ride or die for her 100% and she’s head over heels in love with them in return. rune doesn’t really “do” relationships, and she understands that. she doesn’t press them into being something they’re not, as long as at the end of the day they’re hers and she’s theirs.

they probably end up settling down eventually and doing batshit petty crimes together for kicks. i don’t think they ever have kids, i think rune’s too afraid of that to ever commit to it. i think genevieve floats the idea once in an “omg we could settle down and get a house in the suburbs and we could have like five kids-” way and rune’s like “absolutely fucking not. how bout we plan a bank heist instead” and they are just Like That for the rest of their lives.

i like to think rune gets injured in a way that kinda kicks them out of the front lines of things so they settle down and become a resource for the next generation of street punks. rune would never own a business, but they would know who to talk to in order to get shit from point a to point b. they become the next auntie figure but instead of a bar it’s some ritzy house in the suburbs with all these broken down vehicles they’re swearing they’re gonna fix up

i’ve been rethinking whether or not rune and genevieve have kids. bc like. here’s the thing. i think genevieve likes the idea of having a family and settling down and everything, and all that. and i think if she was 100% serious about it their conversation would be like

rune: five is a ridiculous number.

genevieve: you are one of eight kids, rune

rune: i recognize that. my mother was a brave woman, and i am not following in her footsteps. i never want to be pregnant that many times

genevieve: you don’t have to be pregnant, they’ve got technology where babies can be grown in artificial wombs-

rune: our kids are not being grown in fuckin’ vats. ...how about three. three is a normal number, right? we’ll meet in the middle on three

but i don’t know if genevieve is serious about kids. i, again, think she likes the idea. but i think if rune was down and they started taking those steps she’d get cold feet.

genevieve: wait wait wait, what if we’re not good parents

rune: speak for yourself, im going to be a great parent

genevieve: rune...

rune: we’ve got a ton of people who will help with these kids. it’s gonna be great.

genevieve: but-

rune: you worry too much. ...how about we have one and see how it goes

genevieve: we are not having only one kid

rune: wait why not

genevieve: only children are weird

rune: ...you’re an only child, though, right?

genevieve: exactly. i speak from experience.

...i like the idea of them having multiples, though. i’ll have to tinker on this more because on one hand, i don’t want them to have too many kids to properly care for them all. but at the same time i love the idea of them having multiples, and i think it would be hilarious if they reached that five number on accident

genevieve does have a dick, but she’s a cis woman. she just got surgery to give herself a cybernetic monster dong because she was going through her midlife crisis. which i think is a hilarious string of words

rune is against cybernetics in all but an aesthetic sense. glowing tattoos? sick. glowing pink hair? already got it. something useful? get that shit out of here. they got bone and muscle lace but ONLY because it wasn’t removing something or putting something noticeable in them. they’re against implants, they’re against most enhancements, they prefer to keep all their internal bits right where they’re supposed to be, thank you

the two of them are absolutely a batshit pair because you’ve got genevieve who’s head of her department, engaging in corporate warfare, doing all sorts of wack shit for her corporation. and then you’ve got rune, who’s pretty much in the mob. weapon of choice is a shotgun. blows people apart as a favorite past time.

genevieve is wine and skyscrapers and black tie events, rune is bloody knuckles and rusty nails in baseball bats and dive bars.

and they’re dating. it’s wonderful

it makes my heart so happy that genevieve is just. head over heels absolutely insufferably horny for rune. this woman wants to climb that hunk of all american beef like a tree and she’s not about to let god or anyone get in her way. i joke with people but there’s damn near one reminder per page that she is absolutely horny out of her mind for this hot pink beefcake. she’s making bedroom eyes on the first date. she’s waiting forty minutes by herself in a bar because she’s willing to go the extra mile to get the slightest chance at a kiss or more from rune. she’s clawing at the walls trying to fuck them. she wants to fuck, she wants to date, she wants to grab onto rune and never let go because rune ticks every single one of her boxes

and then you’ve got rune, asexual aromantic agender, triple a battery, not interested in romance in the slightest, has an attitude towards sex that’s basically the equivalent of “yeah i have sex with people like you’d itch your buddy’s back” they don’t put any importance on it, so they don’t mind, say, sucking dick on the first date. constantly confused that genevieve is boned out of her mind for them, doesn’t really “get” her love of sex, but enjoys it well enough. regards romance as something they’re too cool for. trips and falls into caring about genevieve beeeecaaaauuuusee

neither of them are normal human beings. genevieve asks rune if they have a glowing pink bush on the first date. rune doesn’t understand why “kill them” is not an acceptable answer to “this person is bothering me.” genevieve has a body count in the dozens when it comes to both people she’s fucked and people she’s killed. There is probably an overlap on that list. rune’s entire family revolves around crime and doing criminal activities, and they regard beating the shit out of people as “fun stress relief.” genevieve’s idea of a fun time is making everyone in her office viscerally uncomfortable for her own amusement. rune sees nothing wrong with this. in fact, rune participates in this wholeheartedly. genevieve has a therapist that she lies to in order to make herself seem normal. rune thinks that’s a good idea for the environment she’s in.

they’re both DERANGED. ABSOLUTELY BONKERS HUMAN BEINGS. who even are these two what the fuck i love them so much.

they are so fun to write because you take what a normal person would do and throw it out the window. and you write them as deranged as humanly possible

i’ve got some good runevieve stuff cooking. i want to finish my edits on the second date piece and then i’ll post the first date piece.

I’ve got like...the first date piece, the second date piece, and then a piece with rune and auntie that i’m all aiming to post within the week or so?? work’s been kicking my ass but tomorrow is my day off, so here’s hoping i get a lot of work done!!

the first and second date piece both have smut so :D got back into writing that flavor of nonsense, whew.

i’m having such a blast writing these two. They’re deranged in a specific flavor that scratches a particular itch in my brain. they’re just so Not Normal that it’s hilarious to write their first few interactions because they’re both trying to be Normal Human Beings but of course are bad at it but the other is Also Not Normal so they both don’t pick up on it until genevieve literally offers to get someone killed for rune.

i have a lot of feelings about rune in regards to this song, which is on the runevieve playlist (which im not posting juuuuust yet because it’s still under construction)

most of it involves the scenario of rune getting up to sing karaoke, almost refusing to do it/ chickening out because 1. karaoke is lame and 2. the intro is so long and 3. genevieve is in the audience, and then grabbing the mic to sing their goddamn heart out anyway. 

and genevieve watching this person who she’s head over heels for singing about how they return her feelings, but are also super frustrated that they’re doing so??? and rune coming back to the table and sitting down and genevieve’s like “do u want to talk abou-” and rune’s like “nope.” and that’s that until they get to somewhere a bit quieter.

this song is so very rune in the sense that there's no elegant metaphors, just frustration and heart, y’know? just rune talking about “i’m finding myself really into this woman and it’s so frustrating because it feels so lame, i’m not the type of person that ‘falls in love’ and yet i want to kiss this woman and hold her hand and spend my time with her and i’m SO MAD ABOUT IT”

also the line “here’s another song about a gender i’ll never understand” in reference to girls, sung by an afab person who has left that gender behind for a different gender? the only correct way for that line to be used.

that and the chorus of “kill the director” is directed at me technically which i think is really funny. yes this is a rom-com darling, and there’s nothing you can do about it ❤️

progress kinda update: i haven’t talked much about oc stuff on here because i made an oc server and my screaming has been (mostly) confined to that server. 

im still writing!!! not on jubilune stuff or on sacrament, both of which are things i should be writing. sacrament needs some editing before the next round of agent proposals, and the jubilune stuff is staring me in the eye

instead, im writing more rune and genevieve stuff because im fairly obsessed with them right now. i posted the bodyguard piece and genevieve’s first time meeting auntie, but right now im kinda writing their first ever dates?? the first two, to be specific. 

i had a draft of the first date, but i decided that in order to do the second date the way i wanted to, i needed to change some stuff about it. so!! that’s what we’re doing.

it’s good. it’s a good time. they’re both such “not normal” people that it’s a lot of fun writing them when they still think the other is a normal person. 

there’s smut in both of these dates, which?? im really excited about getting to write :D

so!! stay tuned, i might have some more runevieve writing to post here soon. otherwise, i have a comic for the demon au for them that im working on too. lots of fun stuff in store but only for runevieve
