THROWBACK BROTHERS in BLUE - TuTchT COMICS CASTING . Each Halloween for many years now. yup. I’m on it. 2 new joints underway! . Had to keep my Blue Tsunami posts going, so I pulled a handful of the hero squad from years past who’s costumes fit in the blue theme. (see my previous post for an explanation of why I’ve done this for about 8 years I think.) . Clockwise from the top: Cykeem White as Static Shock, O’Shea Roberton as Frozone, Rob Evans as Superman (Val Zod,) Fernando Cabral as Cloak (of “Cloak and Dagger,”) Samuel Barrie as Miles Morales (animated film version,) Salieu Jalloh as Black Panther, Valentine as Aqualad (mash up of comics version and Teen Titans animated version,) and holdin’ down the center, brother Ger Duany as Nick Fury. TuTchT COMICS CASTING - Samuel Barrie as Miles Morales This is actually my 2nd Miles Morales portrait, the 1st was Lucas Cristiano in ‘13 as Miles was gaining steam as Marvel’s new Spider-Man. With the release of last year’s Oscar-Winning “Into the Spider-verse” a new take on the character grabbed the mind of the public. . Simultaneously, a young model based in Sydney, Aus, Samuel Barrie, was also gaining steam. The animated film quickly became one of my all-time favs… as did the multi-talented Mr. Barrie. Sam made the leap to the US market last year and because of our shared interests in music, screenwriting, filmmaking, our penchant for irreverent truth-telling, an unquenchable curiosity and quest for great storytelling, Sam & I became fast fam - with many collaborations in the works! . This portrait of Sam as Miles has some major depth to it. Rather than the stereotypical heroic fight stance, I opted for this more truthful pose. Why does the public love Miles Morales? Because he is a young outsider struggling to come to grips with the incredible set of gifts & skills fate has bestowed on him; trying to fully embrace his purpose while under the scrutinizing, judgmental gaze of those around him who expect him to embrace his super-heroism while also doubting him and attempting to manipulate him. Welcome, Misters Morales and Barrie to the life of a superhero. . You’ll see lots more of Sam in 2020 as he’s adding international agencies to his resume this year. He will be based in London for the first quarter of 2020 at his new UK home, Premiere Models. Follow him & watch this page for his Fashion week appearances. —- I’ve got mad love for this guy.
