it’s time for some big news, darlings! the admin team here at savage have finally pinned down the date of our discord server drop and our soft open. we’ve gotten a couple of asks about these things now and we’re sorry to keep you all waiting, but i think you’ll be really excited by the timeline we have laid out for you.

tomorrow (or, later today, i guess) april 30th, is when we will post the link to the savage discord server. after our discord server opens, members will also have the option to reserve a fifth face claim, if they so desire. the tumblr reserves will last a few days into our soft open, so you will have a bit of time to get comfortable on the site. more info about that below.

speaking of our soft open, it’s this saturday! yes, may 1st is the day you guys can begin joining the jcink forum and creating your characters. the staff team is super excited to meet everyone thanks to all of your posts in the buzz and we can’t wait to plot with everyone! as for the reserve timeline, we’ve tried to give you ample time to get yourself set up, with face claims lasting for three days (until may 4) and project reserves, inspirations, and discographies lasting for five days (until may 6) — all of these times are operating under american time zones, and we’ll try to give you the exact time during our next announcement and also mention it in the discord.

finally, stay tuned! tomorrow, you won’t only get our discord link! we still have a few surprises up our sleeve for you to celebrate our upcoming soft open and thank you all for participating in the buzz. we hope you’re all as excited as we are, and you’ll hear from us again very, very soon.

Peaches & Cream - Sounds Like / Foster The People

I'll try to keep this short and sweet because this whole idea is still in its earliest stages. Okay, so, first of all, hello everyone! I'm so excited to get started on a celebrity site and I'm excited to see one coming around that already looks so promising. Is anyone else geeking out as much as I am? Anyways, for my first character, I thought I'd introduce all of you to Hollis Kincaid. He's my sort of free-spirited rockstar mess that's always down for a good time and could be described as having the same energy as jumping off a roof onto a glass table at a frat party. He's a lot of fun but in order for him to work, he's going to need his band to make an appearance on the site. That's why I'm here to ask you to consider making a character for "Peaches & Cream" an indie rock-pop band based on the sound of their real-life counterpart, "Foster The People."

In no way do I have any faces or genders set in stone so any character could work here really. I should mention that while I don't have a set number of members planned out yet I'll probably do no more than five or maybe six. Likewise, my character Hollis will be playing guitar and lead vocals, but there are plenty of other roles open. If you don't know what FTP uses in the creation of their music I suggest looking under the members section of their Wikipedia page. And while faces are open I'd like it if you keep their ages in relative range to Hollis who is twenty-four.

it’s said that fame is fleeting, and in today’s technological age, that’s more true than ever. the touch of a button can make or break a career. leaks, gossip, scandals, breakout roles...all of these factors play a major role in determining the fate of of even the most lauded celebrity. and on savage, fate is a direct link to that ladder of fame.

savage has a five-star system for fame levels, with zero stars being the average civilian on the street, and five being the legends that seem untouchable, even if they’re just as vulnerable as everyone else. you can find the breakdown below.

a 5 star fame rating is an iconic celebrity; someone who is at the very top of their career. these people are household names, and the type of famous that unless you are living under a rock, you'd know who they are. ex: meryl streep, denzel washington, mick jagger

the 4 star celebrities are usually some of the industry’s biggest names, whether they’re the new kid on the block, or an old hat at the biz. while they might not be legends yet, they’re extremely popular and in high demand. these are the sort of celebrities that everyone, even the stubborn hipsters, has heard of. ex: billie eilish, dwayne “the rock” johnson, jennifer aniston

celebrities with three stars are not as widely known, but have a few projects under their belt, or perhaps a few scandals. they have some fame to their name, but it’s rarely widespread. popular influencer/social media celebrities are often in this range, as well as reality stars with a fair amount of screentime, or a large show following. ex: rachel lindsay, lindsay lohan, tia and tamara mowry

there are people who you might recognize their face from somewhere but be unable to recall from where. they could be an actor on a lesser known tv show, internet famous or maybe they are known for throwing shade at other more famous celebrities online.

celebrities with a 1 star fame level are those who are barely famous. they are not well known, but they do appear in the tabloids, although this is usually due to their networks, connections with larger stars or their families.

civilians

these are the regular people. they are not famous, but someone in their family could be, they could be a pr agent or they could be just a student/barista/ dog walker etc. your character could also start out as a civilian and move through the fame levels as they develop professionally on site.

there are two routes characters can take with fame levels: traditional and non-traditional. traditional celebs are the names you have come to expect to hear at the biggest award shows of the seasons, the streeps, the spielbergs, the sinatras. even those in less acclaimed, yet just as important, avenues such as authors and journalists and athletes would fall into this category.

but what may seem like a household name to some might fly completely over the heads of others. let's face it — the traditional celebs are no longer in control over the cultural zeitgeist. the most talked about person in america could be a teenager in minnesota dancing in her bedroom. the non-traditional route gives influencers, internet celebs, and other individuals the space to carve a name for themselves on a different path. whether they're face of the latest craze, or the poster child for the latest scandal, the non-traditional celebs have their own path to stardom and infamy too.

how do the fame levels work?

here on savage, we love options! you can choose to keep your fame level static (i.e., the fame level you start with is where your character stays) or you can play the game of chance to try and advance your character through the fame rankings. careful though! sure, you might have a shot at superstardom overnight, but you might also see your star burn out, and come crashing down like a meteor.

all members are allowed two four star celebrities for free! after that, the highest fame level you can start with is a three and a half. there are also purchasable options in the shop!

catching up with the cunninghams

So here is a want ad for the cast of a reality show about young, rich, and well-connected professionals living in Los Angeles. Most of these guys grew up in LA and had parents who worked in film or music. The show gets its name for the neighborhood where many of the cast live, Mt. Olympus (which is actualy an neighborhood in LA lol). The original 6 (Zuse, Hera, Poseidon, Demeter, Hades, Hestia) have been in school together since kindergarten, they all went to the best privet schools in Los Angeles. The rest of the group joined over the years, the newest being the Persephone, she is Demeter’s cousin and moved to LA 4 years ago. The show has been on the air for the past 5 years.
