Is there any particular character reason that you think Pollen would rarely make the kwagitamas or was that just added in to make it feel more special? idk it just feels weird for me for one of the most loyal kwami not to basically automatically make them for all her holders.

To me Pollen comes across as a very loyal...employee. Like, one with great enthusiasm and energy and nothing but good things to say about their employer no matter how good or bad the company they work for is. You might have a near fanatical amount of love coming from Pollen, but there's this bit of...distance in it.

So for Pollen to get over that distance and really embrace a holder as a great friend and confidant? I think that would be pretty hard and pretty rare for Pollen. It's hard to redefine a relationship when it was firmly put into a certain box from the beginning.

I wonder if Barkk gives them out like candy though?

Okay I know this isn't going to happen, but what's stopping Tikki from outing Chloe as the miraculous thief to Plagg and Pollen? Yeah she can't say her holder's name, but why not "the mayor's daughter" to get around that, since Chloe wasn't supposed to have the Ladybug miraculous? Love your work~ ❤️

Kwamis don't operate on normal logic. There's literally spells in place to prevent directly giving away someone's identity.

Tikki is duty bound and has it deeply instilled that ratting out your holder is a big no-no (though she's mentally at the point where if there were an alternate in the wings, she would nudge things in that direction.)

Plagg is an agent of chaos and willing to let things land where they may. If it ever went to far, he'd put a bit of effort into hinting at Scarlet Lady's identity, but that's "too far" by the Kwami of Destruction's standards.

Pollen has been given strict instruction from Tikki that telling on Scarlet Lady is a no-no and Against the Rules. And Pollen is a follower, loyal to a fault. Maybe if Marinette asked her directly, Pollen would make concessions for her...but Marinette doesn't know Pollen knows, so she doesn't know to even ask.

Tikki layed down the law and Pollen is nothing if not loyal to a fault, so if Tikki says no telling then Pollen's not telling.

What is the relationship between Marinette and Pollen, Adrien and Plagg and Chloe and Tikki

Marinette adores Pollen and treats her mostly like a friend and sometimes like a precious pet(?) I can't think of another way to describe it, like, not like a pet as in a dumb animal to take care of but like how you become devoted to your cat or dog and pamper them a little excessively. She's a Bee Mom now.

Pollen thinks the sun shines out of Marinette's face. She thinks highly of most all of her holders regardless of how they use the bee, so Marinette being respectful and justice oriented and creative and willing to listen to Pollen and willing to DOTE on Pollen makes her like level 9000 peak holder. It makes Pollen want to be selfish and hold onto her.

Adrien and Plagg are basically bros. Brothers? Like how you get on each other's nerves but you love each other (and younger Bro Adrien looks up to Plagg a bit for being so "I do what I want"). Adrien wants Plagg's attention and affection even though it's usually irritating, like sharing his cheese or using his hair as a cat bed, but he secretly loves it. It's also nice to have someone constantly next to him willing to throw shade back and forth, not treating him like a tool or hot commodity.

Plagg is so not used to someone as SENSITIVE as Adrien, but while he's bringing out some of Adrien's snark, Adrien's bringing out some of Plagg's softness. I mean, c'mon, he SANG for Adrien, if that's not LOVE-

Chloe and Tikki are basically sisters. Like how you're forced to live together but you have nothing in common but you can't escape each other because you share a room. And Chloe is not having Big Sis Tikki's unsolicited advice. If Chloe didn't need Tikki, she'd probably be locked in a glass case or something or thrown out on the street (which at this point Tikki might prefer).

Poor Tikki is just trying to stop Chloe from ruining everything but it's like Chloe's DETERMINED or something. Dammit, if she didn't have this Older Sibling Obligation to try and make things go smoothly, she'd be so OUT of here. Chloe might be the most difficult holder she's ever had - even if she was stuck with someone like Hawkmoth, at least she'd know where she stood, but being with Chloe is like some weird mid point limbo of "are we doing good? I THINK this is good, but it feels bad."

Even though she may not be Tikki, I like that Pollen is very much in Marinette's corner and is giving her good advice!

Definitely characterizing Pollen as a "if you're my chosen you're the Boss (which means your always right)" kind of kwami who's a bit airheaded and a bit outdated, but, she's got the right spirit! Pollen will always be in Marinette's corner (until mayhaps the time comes when she'll have to admonish her?👀) but it's less on Marinette's merit right now and more on Pollen's blind devotion to her holder.

I agree it's fine to like more than one person at a time when not in a committed relationship, but Pollen's advice seems to be so mixed up with her ideas of queen bee polygamy and that her Chosen can do no wrong that it didn't seem to help Marinette very much. Do you agree?

I can agree with that, at first Mariette was comforted by being told her feelings aren't bad ones, but then Pollen went down a route Marinette couldn't wrap her head around, overwhelming her. For now she'll just let things happen as they happen because what even can she do.

What would Pollen's favorite snack be while not fighting the forces of evil?

That will be revealed at the end of the episode, but as a small hint:

Tikki is the Kwami of Creation, so it makes sense to eat cookies since baking is a precise, creative process that takes base ingredients to transform them into something different.

Plagg is the Kwami of Destruction, so it makes sense to eat cheese, which comes from curdled milk aka milk that’s gone bad.

So what would the Kwami of Subjugation eat?

OMGG okay I kept thinking about this because the bee miraculous is a little conspicuous, but what if Marinette started wearing a bun again and just placed the miraculous there for her daily look, but somehow as Marigold, it always comes back to her ponytails. It sort of adds a small element of disguise, and it’s also easier to wear the comb that way

It is weird that Marinette’s the only one who doesn’t get a hair transformation (Nino gets a hoodie, I’m counting that)

Does Marinette have more of an interest in flowers after becoming Marigold? I just thought it would be cute if she used that as a way to bond with Pollen in a more personal manner since Pollen is so subservient in most situations.

Marinette already has a LOT of foliage in her house and on her balcony, so it could be a good starting point to build the bond, yes. She might go out of her way to learn more about specific flowers that appeal to bees or let Pollen teach her a thing or two, which would help Pollen build confidence to offer her opinion up in other situations.

If you're up for it, could I ask what Pollen and Marrionet's relationship like?

It’s a little shaky at first. Not because they don’t WANT to get along! But canon Pollen is subservient and submissive (a Good Worker Bee) which goes against Marinette’s “We’re Partners and Equals” work style.

Marinette looks to Tikki for guidance, so Pollen having to step up as a more advisory role would take time for her to get comfortable with. Yes, Pollen is a thousand year old God with the knowledge to match, but she’d be very restrained because she’s not used to be asked for her opinion.  She’s supportive in nature, and I can see Pollen being very nurturing of Marinette during her emotional lows, but when it comes to moments of “What do I do?” Pollen prefers to defer to the Miraculous Holder.

This could help increase Marinette’s Leader Drive (which doesn’t need that much work in canon, but as long as we’re going more extreme with character traits, why not also Marinette?) There could be moments where Marinette leans into a more bossy role but comes back down because Chat needs a partner on equal footing and is going to be extra resistant to a partner that puts themselves above him.

I see this relationship bringing more change in Pollen than in Marinette to be honest.
