i love how every time i come onto your blog majima is judging me for not being forklift certified lmaooo
anywho- let's play the ask game! >:D i gotta basket a' questions for ya: A5, A13, B2, B4, C1, C6,C7, D7, E2, F7!!!
A5: Favorite final boss(es)?
sorry for being a predictable slut, but majima in y5. it was just. such an emotional and dramatic scene, when kurosawa brought him out in chains, beaten and bloody, and saejima was infuriated, and then it switched to confusion when they let majima go and gave him his tanto. and then when kurosawa told them to kill each other. the DRAMA. still confused on how he learned to do shadow clones, though.
A13: Favorite minigame(s)?
i love all of the rhythm based ones! karaoke, disco, dance battles, i love them!
B2: What’s a scene that never fails to make you cry?
GOD. so many. tachibana's death in y0, when majima chooses to walk away from makoto, majima and taiga's reunion in y4, the rooftop scene in y5 when majima says if its btwn him and taiga and haruka, they should die bc no one would miss them, just so many >.>
B4: Who would you like to post more about but you don’t? Why don’t you?
yasuko, i can never post abt yasuko enough. but my little pea brain mostly makes thoughts and connections based on stuff ive seen recently, and since i dont rlly see a ton of yasuko content i just dont achieve critical yasuko thought very often.
C1: What was the most infuriating moment?
when they killed yasuko. i was too mad to cry when she died, bc i wasnt even sad i was just angry.
C6: If you could revive any deceased character, who would it be and why?
YASUKO. she never should have died.
C7: Which character should have died but didn’t? (If that’s too harsh, who deserves to rot in prison?)
u know im not rlly sure. i cant think of any characters who from a thematic standpoint would have made more sense to die. i get where ppl are coming from when they say kiryu shouldve died at the end of y6, and ok yeah thematically that wouldve made the most sense but consider: i like him and it would have made me sad :(
D7: Who was the least engaging protagonist?
hmmmmmm...... i hated akiyama in y4. i actually didnt like him at ALL and when i got to his part in y5 i took a rlly long break bc i didnt wanna play as him. y5 made me like him a bit more, and now im fine w/ him, but i still like the other protags more lmao.
E2: Bops: Haruka Sawamura, T-Set or Dream Line?
haruka shouldve tiger dropped T-set for being so fucking rude ngl, but also. im sorry haruka, but i prefer T-set's singing voices to hers ;_;
7F: Who are you fighting on the Millennium Tower rooftop?
mmmmmm no one, im baby and id just cry if someone tried to fight me. that, said, i do think kiryu needed someone to knock some sense into him at a few key moments. sorry.
edit: forgot to answer b4... it is now answered....

The next chapter
San Sequoia. Kenta wasn't expecting to find accommodation that easily, but as soon as he started looking, he saw there were plenty of townhouses in the city. His new salary was definitely enough to cover the rent, so he didn't hesitate. A few months after leaving Granite Falls, he was moving into another new place.
Tumblr media
He was happy, making a difference. After all, not everyone gets to decide what policies a whole city will follow to get to the greener side. Plus, he was finding the sea air quite enjoyable. He was mainly sleeping in the tent he had set up in his small townhouse garden anyway. Until that one night, when he had decided he would have a small one-person barbeque... And the grill caught fire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We all know Kenta is a bit terrified of fire at this point. After calling the firefighters, he looked at it growing and growing, trying to figure out what to do. How to stop it. Then he remembered the extinguisher his landlord had had installed... And he decided it was about time he stopped fearing something he could have control over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Proud of himself for putting it out, but not so proud of having to go and apologise to his close neighbours, he took a minute to appreciate the feeling of overcoming a fear he had carried with him for so long. He honestly didn't think there was any more evolving he could do after he had left the forest, but it turned out there were always more things to learn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He tried to focus on that confident feeling as he was heading to the front of the townhouses to meet his neighbours and apologise for starting a fire that close to their toddler... He was busy explaining what happened and how he had put it out as quickly as possible when one of the other townhouses' door opened. It took a couple seconds for Kenta to look up and notice who was coming down the stairs...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The small family he was apologising to thanked him for the explanation and asked him to be more careful in the future, then went back inside. And Kenta was left dumbfounded... Miki Akiyama had been his neighbour this whole time ?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I can't believe it !" For a fleeting moment, he wasn't sure if she would recognise him. It had been almost two years since they had seen each other. They had never crossed paths in Mt Komorebi, never being back there at the same time. But then her eyes locked with his and he knew instantly they hadn't forgotten about each other. "Kenta ?!" she said, just as surprised as he was.
Tumblr media
"What are you doing here ?" she asked, seemingly happy to see him yet a bit confused at how he was on her doorstep that late in the evening. "I live here ! The blue townhouse ? Your next door neighbour on the right ? This is so weird, I didn't think I'd run into anyone I know so far from home, let alone live so close to them !"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Wait, are you the one responsible for the fire alarms going off ?" "Hum... Yeah, that was my bad, sorry... But I was also the one who saved everyone by putting the fire out !" he tried to joke it off, the shame coming back all at once.
Tumblr media
"Oh Kenta, I'm glad you weren't hurt !" she quickly answers, sensing his discomfort. "Do you need any help tidying up anything, is there any damage ?" "No, I'm okay, it was minor. Well as minor as a fire can be, I guess." his heart feels a bit fuller suddenly, knowing that her first instinct is to check on him and offer him assistance instead of making fun of him.
Tumblr media
"Thank you for offering though, it's nice to know I can count on my neighbours' help if needed !" he chuckled. "And please don't tell your brother, he'll alert the whole town back home..." "Oh you know he would !" she laughs, her smile lighting up the street. "Tell you what, I won't tell him as long as it's not a repeated offense, what do you say ?" "Alright, I'll take that deal, I'm not trying to put anyone's lives in danger again, even though I'm not scared of fire anymore." he answered, smiling back.
Tumblr media
"And who is that ?" he continued, happy for a change in subject. "That is my Amber ! She's my boss' dog. I'm keeping an eye on her at the moment. Same for the house, actually. It's not mine, I'm just here because she asked me to house and dogsit while she was away." "Oh... So you're not staying ?" Kenta's heart felt a bit heavier at that thought. He'd just gotten her back, he didn't want them to walk away from each other again.
Tumblr media
"No, I'm going to stay here quite a long time, she's doing a TV show somewhere on the other side of the world, I'm not even sure how long it's supposed to last... And I wouldn't want to leave this little lady behind, I'm sure I'll find something nearby whenever I move."
Tumblr media
"Do you like San Sequoia ?" she asked after giving the dog a hug. "I do, I loved different things about all the places I lived in, but I have to admit, this city seems to agree with me more than I expected..." he answered, thoughtful. He hadn't dug deep into his feeling for this place just yet, but he was realising as he was talking about it that he did feel at home here. Maybe not in this specific house, but in San Sequoia as a whole. "What about you ?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I like it..." she answered, her voice trailing away while her eyes seemed to be searching the night for something. "It just sometimes feels a bit lonely, I guess... Even though I have friends here, it's not the same as it was back home. I guess I've had that feeling a lot since we left high school though, so I can't tell how much of it is from this place and how much is just from me..." Kenta got back up and looked at her for a bit. Maybe it wasn't the right thing to do, but all he wanted was to hold her in his arms. "Well now that we know we're next door neighbours, you better expect the loneliness to go away !" he joked instead, trying to bring her spirits up. She took one step towards him and embraced him, no words needed.
Tumblr media
The hug lasted. It was somehow bittersweet, like they had been deprived of these hugs for too long. And in that moment, they both felt like the love they had shared back when they were teenagers had never left their hearts...

Letter Ask Game:
B, N, T, W
Hey, thank you! Sorry this took a while to answer.
B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind
If this has ever happened, I don’t recall it. On rarer ships usually I’m the one going “look at this” and trying to make people see my side.
Anyway, because this is a boring answer I will give you different but similar lore. When I first decided to watch One Piece, my friends insisted I was going to love Sanji and ZoSan. I’m a fickle bitch so I wanted to prove them wrong and really, really tried not to fall into ZS hell. Obviously, that did not work out lmao
N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice)
This one’s hard. There are things I don’t want more than things I want extra, if that makes sense? But I guess I want… more people to ship things that I like. If more people were into Kiryu/Akiyama I would be incredibly happy. When I posted my fic for them, it was the 8th work on AO3 and now they have 37! So that’s nice.
Overall I want more kink content in every fandom I’m in, and… well. I wish people would be more vocal about liking things in general.
For example: I’ve been told multiple times that people have really liked some things I thought had flopped (lesbian ZS, all that glisters) and it’s kind of depressing. I was shown some screenshots from a server and I was like “...okay” because none of that enjoyment or excitement actually got back to me. If the people who like it never tell me how am I meant to know? I just view the initial kudos and the comments, and when there’s not many of them it tells me that no one wants more of that.
Please, for the love of everything that is holy, tell creators directly when you like their works!!
T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything)
Yes. I’m very much a “no reverse” kind of person when it comes to pairings. Feelings can go whichever way you want but when it comes to the nitty-gritty of sexy time I have a set way I like things to go. This is why I don’t really write opposite things. When it comes to who’s initiating or Dom/sub dynamics I’m way more flexible though.
Because I’ve been in fandom for a veeeeryyyyy long time I have had so many headcanons over the years that have been disproven or things have changed to make them less fun so I dunno on that one. The longer you look at things the more open your mind becomes to other possibilities too, so some stuff I was hard-and-fast about (ZS being virgins) has definitely evolved. Sometimes all you need is a good trustworthy friend with an intriguing argument haha.
W - 5 favorite ships and 5 kinks you like best for said ships
I tend to gravitate towards characters with similar traits so it’s kinda hard to separate kinks and ships from one another like this. Mainly though, if you look, most of my ships have one (or two) smokers in them, often a big burly guy and a slimmer guy and the slimmer one usually fights with their legs, so… hahaha. One day I should make a venn diagram and then you’ll see what I mean.
There’s also a difference between kinks too, because…well. I tend to view “kinks” as BDSM things whereas people will call pretty much anything a kink these days. So there’s like BDSM kink, physical trait kinks and then the sort-of fantasy ones (transformation, vore, etc)? I’m not big on the fantasy kind. I like stuff that is possible in reality the most.
The other thing about this is: some ships are not made for kink content. I know this may have people side-eyeing me given my history but I do actually take into consideration the characters, their dynamics etc before I try to throw kinky stuff on them. Would they be into it? Is there a way I can validate this kink on this character? There’s kinks I really like that simply don’t fit with the pairings I have, so I don’t write them. Perhaps one day I will be able to write those kinks, but not right now.
This was a lot of paragraphs not to actually answer the question but hopefully you have an idea.

Well since I'm feeling contrarian I'm gonna rank all of the yakuza games I've played (which is everything except the original 1 and 2, Dead Souls, and the Japan only games) which is guaranteed to piss someone off. Starting with the best-
1. Yakuza 0
Ok, not a controversial choice. I'm sorry. But the general consensus is correct. On top of having one of the best stories in the series, a really fun combat system (albeit not very challenging, but it's not like i play yakuza for challenge), and some of the most memorable sidestories, the setting really gives this game a certain style that nothing else in the series has. Also, one of the few yakuza games that's decently paced. Honestly, most of my complaints about this game are nitpicks (such as how grindy maxing out your character is) it's just a kind of boringly perfect game, really.
2. Yakuza: Like a Dragon
"BuT iT's TuRn-BaSeD" ok cool guess you're just gonna miss out on a fantastic fucking game. I gotta say, it was a real hard choice between "I wanna see the side stories" and "I GOTTA know what happens next in the story" sometimes. I don't know else I can say about this game: great story, great characters, just a great time. Admittedly, as an RPG it.... needs work. The encounter rate is WAAAY too high and the job class system is pretty busted. Even still, the genre change is a breath of fresh air and honestly pretty charming at times. Play this, goddamn
3. Yakuza Kiwami 2
It was a real toss up between Kiwami 2 and the game in the 4th slot, but in the end, Kiwami 2 wins by being more consistently enjoyable. Unlike the first two games on this list I can't say Kiwami 2 had a good story exactly, but I can say it's an entertaining one. I was rarely bored playing this, and in terms of sheer fun, Kiwami 2 wins that crown. I was *howling* at the ending, my God.
4. Yakuza 5
I'm of two minds when it comes to this game. On the one hand, some of my favorite stuff is in this game. The intro is very unusual but hit me in a weird way that really stuck with me. It finally made Saejima likable. Playable Haruka. Shinada, my beloved. On the other hand, while Yakuza games having pacing problems is pretty much the norm, whoo boy does yakuza 5 test your patience. Sloths move at the speed of fleas on meth compared to this game. Also, the actual overarching story is pretty weak and uninteresting. It's really best viewed as a collection of loosely connected stories. This game definitely has it's flaws, but the high points more than make up for them
5. Yakuza 6
Someone's gonna get mad that this game isn't lower, I'm sure. Yeah, it's flawed. It's not best send off for Kiryu. It's lacking in content. The ending is fucking terrible. But there's still plenty here to love. I love Onomichi, it's honestly one of my favorite locations in this series, even if there's nothing to do in it. It's just wonderful to look at and walk around in. I like the Onomichi cast. Beat Takeshi is there. Having Kiryu's saga cap off with a game about family is a great idea, and until this game's awful fucking ending it's a touching exploration of that theme. But fuck this game's ending. Seriously.
6. Yakuza 3
This is... a weird one. I can both see why the fanbase rejected it at the time and why fan appraisal has gotten so much kinder to this game. Like y6 (honestly y6 is really an unofficial remake of this game) it's a game about family. That being said, I rank it lower than 6 because of the relatively lower stakes and weak plot. It takes a long time for the main plot to actually start, and honestly it can take it's dear sweet time. Whenever I was going main story quests all I can think was about how much I'd rather be dinking around doing mundane shit for the kids. But I can't say this game isn't charming as hell. It's really one of the few times you really see Kiryu as just a... guy. Raising his kids, just living his life. For a series all about high octane melodrama, slice of life is a welcome change of pace
7. Judgment
Ooh, HERE'S the controversial take! Yeah, I didn't really care for Judgment. Judgment is the opposite of y3, where instead the main plot is actually very interesting but we spend. So. Much. Time. On. Bullshit. It's not a short game either. I spent so much of this game wondering when we're getting to the goddamn fireworks factory. Putting the pacing problems aside, the characters are fun but apart from Yagami and arguably Sugiura they don't get much in the way of meaningful development (it feels like Higashi's character arc is almost entirely off screen). The "detective" gameplay is meaningless fluff and adds nothing (note to game developers: tailing missions always suck. They sucked in Assassin's Creed and they suck here) and the attempt to bring back style changing is half-baked. I didn't hate my time with this game, but it left me underwhelmed
8. Yakuza Kiwami
This was actually my first yakuza game. And thank goodness Kiryu is hot because this game is... rough. First off, the story is just not very good. It spends a lot of time with tedious red herrings and extraneous shit with characters we don't care about. I honest to God had a hard time following the plot on my first playthrough because the cast is like 90% unmemorable middle aged Japanese men that show up like once in the first hour and then once in the last (but you're expected to remember them). It doesn't fare any better gameplay wise. It does make one good decision, bringing back style changing, but then for some reason they decided to make every boss fight an awful chore by having them regenerate their hp several times a fight (unless you happen to have the heat to do a heat action, and even then they regen hp so fast it may not help that much). What. The fuck. This snowballs into the Majima Everywhere which... look. I know. Goromi. But this system is still one where you have to fight a boss over and over and over again (in a game where fighting bosses is a chore). I've seen people slide off the series after going from 0 to kiwami, and that sucks. Maybe it was best i started here; if I liked this game, I'll probably like the rest
But there's one game I'd say that'd worse
9. Yakuza 4
When I played Yakuza 4 the first time, it was the ps3 version and I hadn't played 3 yet (it was more expensive.) So when I replayed 4 it was after playing 3, and honestly I was appreciating the game a lot more. After the slog of 3 it was nice to have a game with a snappier pace. And Akiyama was a fun change of pace. Him and Hana have a fun dynamic. I remembered not liking this game; was I too harsh? Could I have appreciated 4 more if I could see the improvements from 3? Then I got to Saejima's section then I remembered why I don't like this game. Honestly, I could go ON about how much Saejima's part sucks, it is easily the worst time I've had playing a yakuza game. I'll spare you that novel for now tho. And from here, the game never really recovers. We move on to Tanimura, the worst yakuza protagonist by the sheer virtue of how boring he is. By the time Kiryu shows up again I was so damned thrilled to see him. But he doesn't really save this game. Yakuza plots are usually convoluted and sometimes hard to follow, but 4's just gets exhausting to keep up with. By the time you get to your 28th betrayal you just can't care anymore. And it all caps off with a lazy fucking ending and the absolute worst final boss fight in the series. Oh Curryman. You deserve a better game.
