Why are they still “sneaking around” & what not? That’s almost impossible that shes gone out around london & hasnt been spotted by a single person. I mean is she literally spending every day all day inside or something? How bizarre
The paps are on a tight least because (i) she’ll send IPSO after anyone who publishes an unauthorized pic, (ii) they don’t make that much money from unauthorized pics, and (ii) they make too much money from the pics she sets up. It’s a carrot and stick approach.
If Meg’s publicity machine picks up you pap shot or a story, you get printed/posted everywhere and the money rolls in. If she doesn’t, you don’t make out of the DM. The DM is okay money, but it’s not Vogue and People money, and it’s likely not money that will cove your legal expenses if Meg goes to IPSO.
Same thing happens with stories.
You can tell if a story/pic was planted/spread by Meg’s publicist because it hits Vogue/Bazaar/Marie Claire/VF/PopSugar/Cosmopolitan/Glamour/Hello!/Seventeen/Teen Vogue/US Weekly/People/ET/EW/Inside Edition on the roughly the same day. It doesn’t matter if it got planted on the DM or the Daily Star or US Weekly, everyone else will send it and they will send it within 24 hours.
For example, here’s the coverage of the stupid hamster story, which got planted in the kitty litter liner tabloid, The Daily Star. It was neither newsworthy nor from a highly credible source, but it got picked up everywhere.

Some of these are kind of weird. The purpose of the “Why Kate Can Wear a Tiara and Meghan Can’t” story still escapes me, but it was definitely sent by Meg’s publicist. Ditto with mom walking her down the aisle.
If the publicist doesn’t send it out, the story only hits news or minor outlets, no matter how newsworthy it may be. Sometimes, it gets picked by maybe one or two of Meg’s outlets, but that’s it. That’s why it’s so obvious when the story gets sent out and when it isn’t. A good 10-12 media outlets will be MIA when the story isn’t mailed out.
The UKIP story, for example, only hit Elle UK and Marie Claire even thought it’s VERY newsworthy and is in all the newspapers. Yes, it’s not a fashion or gossip story but Meg’s outlets love the racism stuff. It generates tons of clicks.

Harry’s Verbier bachelor party hasn’t made it out of kitty litter liner tabloid The Daily Star even thought the DS’ hamster story got blasted right away.

They plant tons of crap in the DS. I haven’t seen a story spread as fast as Felicity Cross’ June African Birthday/Engagement trip story. Meg’s publicist hit the send button as soon as that sucker hit the internet. That still holds the record for fastest email EVER, imo.
Sometimes the story is not planted by the publicist, but she likes it and sends it out anyway. When that happens, Meg’s outlets pick it up with a day’s delay.  I think that’s what will happen with the Lifetime movie story. As of now, no one has picked it up. it will likely be a two-day delay this time because today is a holiday in the US. (Update: it just got picked up by EW and US Weekly. Good job, Meghan’s publicist!)

It happened with a stupid homecoming tiara story that came out a few days ago. Meg’s old pics almost never get picked up by her press, but the old tiara one did. That pic was originally posted in the DM waaaaaay back in Spring 2016, but somehow it was everywhere in January.

It also happened with Sam’s story. Sam’s interview was published on the 8th, but Meg’s publicist didn’t come up with the “They Haven’t Spoken in Years and She’s Begging For Forgiveness” spin for a while, so she didn’t email the story until the 12th.

It’s really funny when the publicist sends out a story and everyone picks it up and then the DM finds out a horrid detail about it, and Meg’s outlets studiously ignore it. That happened when the “economy flight” to the Riviera turned into a luxury helicopter flight to Monaco, and when the “daring” engagement pic dress turned out to cost $75,000. Everyone carried the original story. The follow-up? Not so much.

I get a lot of questions about how I “know” that Meg plants or spreads stories. This is how you can tell. 
The only outlet it doesn’t work with is the DM (and, once in a blue moon some of the other UK tabloid stories) as they get UK-only planted stories that aren’t aimed at the US and therefore don’t get sent to the US outlets. This includes the homeless protesters being “enemies of the Queen,” Harry’s gosh-we-only-just-found-this-out  Army story, and the “day-to-day life” story. I usually assume (at least preliminarily) that these are also planted by KP/Meg’s publicists even if they don’t get disseminated in the US, but some of them likely aren’t. Monaco and the $75,000 dress definitely weren’t. The bridal breakfast and Vera Wang stories weren’t picked up by Meg’s press, so they probably weren’t plants. I’m on the fence as to day-in-the-life. It’s one of those they-should-know-this-actually-hurts-them-but-who-knows? stories.
You also have to take into account that EVERYONE plants in the DM. PC just washed his hands off the whole wedding (did he finally get a good look at Jess’ Insta?) by planting a story about his aide getting kicked out of the wedding planning committee. Carole was hitting up the DM during Pippa’s wedding (No Ring, No Bring). Everyone uses the DM, not just Harry and Megs.
The other interesting outlet is the Palacegraph. Everything in The Telegraph is planted there by Harry and Meghan, even the fashion items. Every. Single. Thing. They should just merge with the KP press office.
So that’s why we aren’t seeing a lot of UK candids doing the rounds. No one’s going to risk $15k in legal fees over a pic that will garner maybe $5k at the DM. If a bystander gets a pic, that’s a different story. The pros, however, aren’t going to sell something on Megs and Harry unless it’s going to make enough money to cover the legal fees. They are probably snapping away like crazy because they know their travel routes and hangouts, but the pics won’t get sold unless they are either authorized by Meghan and Harry, or real moneymakers that will be worth the hassle.

Ariana Grande Said “Thank U, Next” to Piers Morgan When He Came After Her Mom and Little Mix
Just a couple days after Piers Morgan accused Little Mix of "using nudity” to sell their brand new album LM5, the ITV host has embroiled himself in a new toxic masculinity narrative, involving none other than Ariana Grande and her mother Joan Grande.
On Nov. 20, Morgan posted Little Mix’s promo image for LM5 alongside Dixie Chick’s 2003 Entertainment Weekly cover to his Twitter saying, “Hey @LittleMix — when are you going to admit you stole this idea from @dixiechicks?”
Upon seeing Morgan’s repetitive comments, Ariana’s mom, Joan, did not hesitate to speak out in Little Mix's defense. “Honestly what is wrong with you @piersmorgan? Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it! You came for @TheEllenShow yesterday which was disgraceful, she is an angel. @LittleMix today, did you ever hear of paying homage? And..well never mind.”
Of course, the host responded back, dragging Ari into the equation. “Hi Joan, my mother taught me to speak my mind & never be afraid to express honestly held opinion,” he responded on Twitter. “Ellen's a hypocrite — and as for Little Mix, I'd just prefer they use their talent to sell records rather than their nudity. As your own daughter does...!”
Ari, like the queen she’s proven to be over and over again, was ready to defend both herself and her fellow women. “Ellen is an incredible & kind human being.. I use my talent AND my sexuality all the time because i choose to," she wrote on her Twitter. "Women can be sexual AND talented. naked and dignified. it’s OUR choice. & we will keep fighting til people understand. i say this w all due respect but thank u, next.”
In support of the "Woman Like Me" quartet, Ari wrote "keep fighting the fight divas @LittleMix 🖤 your sisters have your back," before saying, “Also @piersmorgan, i look forward to the day you realize there are other ways to go about making yourself relevant than to criticize young, beautiful, successful women for everything they do. i think that’ll be a beautiful thing for you and your career or what’s left of it.”
With this small interaction, Ari and Joan join a rather large list of people Morgan has dared to mess with — which includes not only Little Mix, but also Lady Gaga and Emily Ratajkowski.
As per his previous actions, it seems likely the host will address the lesson the Grande women taught him on a future episode of Good Morning Britain, but in the words of Ariana Grande, "thank u, next."

In the course of history, 100 years isn’t a particularly long time. But in the course of fashion history, it’s the difference between trying to get around in a bone-cinching girdle and ankle-length skirt and easing into the Nike leggings and Vans sneakers  you’re probably wearing today. In the intervening years, there have been major shifts in technology, politics, culture, and social norms, and fashion has reflected that in its ever-changing cycle of trends. From the sky-high platforms of the ‘70s to the high-waisted bikinis of the '40s, we see plenty of the popular looks of decades past serving as inspiration for designers today. Below, take a look back at the most influential trends from the 1900s through today (and see which ones you’d actually still consider wearing).
The Edwardian period saw the introduction of the “S-bend” or “health” corset, a style that altered the wearer’s posture and (shocker) was no more healthful than its predecessors. Toward the end of the decade, the fashion shifted to girdles and away from the dramatic hourglass silhouettes that had been demanded of women for decades. Leisure apparel was also introduced, with options like blazers, long skirts, and wool sweaters becoming part of many women’s wardrobes. Finally, hemlines crept up slightly past the ankle, making walking less of a chore—unfortunately, this coincided with a trend for “hobble skirts,” a style popularized by designer Paul Poiret that was narrow through the ankle and sometimes banded below the knee, constricting women’s movement and sometimes leading to injury. While this fad mercifully did not stick around for long, the more practical duster coats and lace-up boots of the era are echoed in fashion today. Flapper ensembles are instantly recognizable as the look of the '20s, and it’s easy to see why: With their relaxed drop waists, ornately beaded designs, and feathered accessories, the trends of the era have enduring appeal. The most influential style, however, may have been a subtler one. According to The Dictionary of Fashion History, it was in this decade that Coco Chanel introduced the little black dress: “It offered simplicity and elegance, and instead of being a color associated with servants or widows, black became chic.” While the American public was reeling from the Great Depression, the silver screen became a welcome site of escapism. There, film icons like Bette Davis, Jean Harlow, and Joan Crawford dazzled in glamorous gowns and tailored skirt suits. The silhouette was long and lean, in part thanks to the popularization of Madeleine Vionnet’s bias cut, a technique that allows fabric to drape over the body. One of the less predictable consequences of wartime was the increasing popularity of the two-piece swimsuit, a result of fabric rationing enforced by the U.S. government beginning in 1943. Three years later, French designer Louis Réard introduced the bikini we know today, naming it after the site of American nuclear tests and daring to cut it below the belly button—a style that wouldn’t fully be embraced until decades later. In spring 2017, Réard relaunched with a collection of luxurious, modern bikinis and one-pieces. In 1947, Christian Dior debuted the “New Look” silhouette that would shape the decade to come: With its nipped-in waist, structured bust, and voluminous taffeta layered skirt, it was the antithesis of wartime outfits. Even the lighter garments that eventually became common fare among middle-class women stateside retained much of this femininity: cinch-waist dresses, full mid-calf skirts, and sweater sets. Hemlines crept ever northward in the '60s, and ground zero for the shift was designer Mary Quant’s London boutique, Bazaar. “If I didn’t make them short enough, the Chelsea girls, who had wonderful legs, would get out the scissors and shorten the skirts themselves,” she later told the The New York Times. At the time, they were controversial, but clearly the naysayers were ultimately overpowered. Additionally, two of the most popular hues of the Space Age were—appropriately—white and silver, two color trends that were the result of advancements in fabric technology. André Courrèges’s signature optical white, for instance, was enabled by the introduction of a new bleach in the late '60s, according to historian Valérie Guillaume. Jeans got wider, heels got taller, and synthetic fabrics flooded fashion stores during the '70s. In New York, Halston’s coterie of Studio 54–dwelling cool girls brought disco trends like Lurex halter tops and palazzo pants to the mainstream, while on the other side of the Atlantic especially, the punk scene thrived, led by Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren in tattered T-shirts and safety-pinned plaid. If there’s one item that was as ubiquitous in the '80s as it is today, it’s leggings. Alongside the aerobics craze of the decade, Spandex became a bona fide fashion trend—though back then, they were worn with leg warmers, off-the-shoulder sweatshirts, and/or scrunchies. For more professionally minded women, the broad-shouldered power suit became an office staple—and for good reason. As historian Bonnie English writes in A Cultural History of Fashion in the 20th and 21st Centuries, “Women in professional careers used fashion as a political language to illustrate their expectations of power and position in the management structures of large corporations.” If you were going to be shattering the glass ceiling, you might as well be wearing shoulder pads. The youth-oriented culture of the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” decade was fertile ground for grunge to take hold, as it did following Marc Jacobs’s groundbreaking S/S 93 collection for Perry Ellis (and the Vogue spread that followed). Teens and 20-somethings embraced baggy flannels and floral prints—and still today snap them up in vintage stores. Elsewhere, minimalism became big news in fashion, with slip dresses, sheer fabrics, and a palette of black, gray, and white ruling the runways. Finally, hip-hop’s influence extended to the mainstream, with the MTV generation copying looks they saw on artists like TLC, Aaliyah, and Salt-N-Pepa. Ah, yes, the decade of the tracksuit. Beloved by the likes of J.Lo, Paris Hilton, and Britney Spears throughout the early- to mid-aughts, Juicy Couture’s terry cloth and velour sweatsuits are already a nostalgic item that certain celebs—not to mention the brand itself—are trying to bring back. Graphic T-shirts (“Team Aniston” versus “Team Jolie,” anyone?), bare midriffs, and logo-heavy It bags also reigned supreme. (Hopefully, the trucker-hat trend will stay firmly in 2004, though some celebs are attempting to revive it.) With nine years of the decade behind us, we feel safe in our predictions as to which trends will endure most over time. Skinny jeans came into their own this decade after gradually making their way into the mainstream, and despite endless articles heralding their death, they’re not likely to be going anywhere anytime soon. Same goes for athleisure (and, to a smaller extent, its more ephemeral cousin, normcore): Now that we’ve experienced the joys of walking around in sneakers, tees, and hoodies all day while still looking stylish, who would want to go back? #MakeAFuss: How a Galway woman landed a job running Teen Vogue's social media
“Even though it was difficult to get set up in New York, I think it was the right decision to make!”
The Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty, even Sex and The City – for lots of us, working in the media in New York City sounds like the ultimate dream job.
But do the glamour, fast pace and dog-eat-dog mentality we see on screen translate to real life?
Yes and no, says Michaela O’Shaughnessy.
The Galway native works as a social media manager for Teen Vogue in New York, overseeing content across the legendary publication’s social platforms.
Her personal Instagram feed is instantly envy-inducing. She does love what she does, she tells us, but didn’t originally even know that it could be a full-time job.
Michaela had her heart set on the world of medicine and did Biomedical Science in NUIG after leaving school.

It was during her undergrad that she realised she was far more interested in marketing and so she pivoted and studied business. She spent her summers in college working internships in New York and waitressing at night.

“I realized that there’s so much opportunity in this city to grow your career and learn a lot, especially if you’re willing to push yourself and work very hard.
“As soon as I finished my final exams, I moved to New York and started applying for jobs in digital marketing and advertising.
“I actually didn’t even realise that there were jobs entirely dedicated to social media until a recruiter reached out to me about a social position at MTV.”
Michaela jumped at the chance to interview with the iconic media brand. In a notoriously tough job market, it was no walk in the park.
“As an immigrant it’s even harder because you’re competing against a lot of American applicants who sometimes have an Ivy League education which is obviously very appealing to employers.
“When it comes to the fashion industry, I think it’s even more difficult to land that highly coveted dream job because within the industry it’s a lot about who you know that can help you get your foot in the door.”
As it turned out, she didn’t need to know anyone to seal the deal – her personal blog she’d been running in her spare time, Life of a Lady Bear, appealed to the interviewer and helped her land a role as a social creative.

Michaela later moved to Condé Nast to join Teen Vogue‘s social media team.
“It’s such an iconic brand that publishes such well-known magazines like Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour and many others so to even be a small part of it all is incredibly humbling and a great opportunity to learn from some of the greatest people in the industry.”
As part of her job, Michaela now regularly attends events like the Met Gala and New York Fashion Week, meets celebrities and comes up with interesting ways to cover everything from politics to pop culture on Instagram.
It’s ‘pinch yourself’ territory for a girl who grew up in the west of Ireland but it’s definitely not an easy role.

“Especially in New York, it seems like work-life balance isn’t as good and there’s a lot of pressure to perform the best you can or else you could be replaced in the morning.
“The most difficult part is definitely that you’re never able to completely switch off.
“Over the weekends I always have my two phones with me incase any breaking news happens that needs social coverage, so it’s definitely not just nine-to-five, Monday through Friday but once you get used to that, you begin to take it in your stride and just get on with it.”
There are plenty of perks too and Michaela happily puts paid to the bitchy stereotype of working at a fashion publication.
“I work with a team of incredibly talented and innovative young people who constantly teach me so much about the world and always push me to be the best I can be, as well as making me laugh every single day,” she tells us.
“I wish I could tell my younger self to throw caution to the wind.”

It’s a role she didn’t dare dream of in her early twenties, admitting she had “zero confidence” in herself.
“When I look back at my 21-year-old self, I remember feeling so stressed and worried about where I would end up with my career.
“I thought that because I switched industries from biomedical science to business that I would be at a huge disadvantage when job hunting, but I was so wrong! I wish I could tell my younger self to throw caution to the wind and just go for it.”
Self-belief and perseverance are two things she’s keen to stress when asked what she’d tell someone looking to get into social media.
“I think the best piece of advice I have to offer someone is to listen to your gut and never settle.
“If you truly believe you can achieve something or land your dream job, then don’t quit until you do.”

As for where her own future lies? She may be living the American dream but it’s not forever, she says.
“As much as I love New York it’s definitely not somewhere I would like to settle.
“I think the biggest challenge of moving home will be figuring out what my career will look like over there.
“I definitely feel hopeful that I’ll be able to take all of my experience from working here and use it to either start my own company or work in a digital marketing capacity for a brand over there. Who knows!”

LONDON FASHION WEEK/ — The Eighties via old-school films Blade Runner and Tron; computer games and arcades, the buzz of pinball machines, their primary-bright graphics; the allure of the power suit, the even greater allure of its neon-bold colours; and that perfect kind of awkward style: in a collection that is nostalgic to the era, Roberta Einer rekindles the best bits of the Eighties to create her own updated take, one that comes imbued with a renewed glamour for autumn/winter 2018.
The maximalist luxury ready-to-wear designer finds her inspiration in the life of the woman she saw as coming through at the time, stepping into her life for 24 hours and traversing her wardrobe: from from a puffer jacket to go and grab the milk in, to bright shiny Swarovski crystals and sequins – always a Roberta Einer favourite – to easy pyjama styles, pinstripes, power dressing and party dresses. Chunky knits of thick yarn make for mum-and-dad sweaters with a naïve charm; while hoodies, T-shirts and bombers feature retro graphics taken from her own family photo album of the time: Einer’s mother and father posing in holiday snaps make for sweet motifs which, personal to the designer, also possess a relatable memory-lane quality. There also come her recurring signatures, the bomber jacket – now boasting computer-graphic ornamentation for patchwork detail – and sequins. Here rendered in flashy flourishes for floral clusters on pinstripe dresses that make for a throwback to the office-wear trope of the time.
Three standout silhouettes underpin the season: Roberta Einer takes on the power suit with shapely skirts and new ostentation; draped party dresses bunch and gather at the hip and come in sassy-shimmery shades; and there are asymmetric flared and textured dresses, their cable knit running out across the body at different directions in a flattering contour. Colours throughout are high-shine, bold and bright, Eighties-centric with Bridget Riley monochrome to be found too.
This is the third season that Einer has collaborated with Swarovski to show off her textile ingenuity in 3D floral cutout pieces and the iridescent sew-on crystals used in dégradé fashion on oversized blazers. Her team up with Vans shoes, too, continues for cool and collectible sneakers; while autumn/winter 2018 also marks the launch of a brand-new collaboration with jewellery brand URIBE. A mix of pretty-but-awkward ear cuffs, earrings and chokers that can be stacked up the way you want with different floral charm and Swarovski crystal combinations.
