"My daughter just thinks that all moms fly the Space Shuttle." (Eileen Collins) Eileen Collins was the first female commander of a US american Spaceship. She commanded STS-114 where she became the first astronaut to fly the Spaceship through a complete 360-degree pitch maneuver. This was necessary so astronauts aboard the ISS could take photographs of the Shuttle's belly, to ensure there was no threat from debris-related damage to the Shuttle upon reentry

#wcw Margaret Hamilton she was the lead Apollo flight software engineer. She's in the Apollo command module circa late 1960s. And she even got her own LEGO set as part of the "women of NASA" which is fucking bad ass. #radwoman #spaceisforeveryone

"Once I got into space, I was feeling very comfortable in the universe. I felt like I had a right to be anywhere in this universe [..]." (Mae Jemison) Dr. Mae Jemison was a doctor, engineer and NASA astronaut. She received her first mission on September 28, 1989 when she was selected to join the STS-47 crew as a Mission Specialist. On September 12, 1992 Dr. Jemison and six other astronauts went into space on the space shuttle Endeavor. She was the first Black woman in space and had to face rejection and racism.

Message from Earth - Launch Update “Vulva Spaceship”
Have you ever noticed? In space travel all the gender-related problems that we have on earth are amplified. For example, in the coveted position of space traveler, only 12% were female so far. It's time for equal opportunities in the entire universe!
That's why we developed the "Vulva Spaceship". We believe that equality even has a place in space.
We want to inspire people to think about socially relevant topics. Our societies still have a lot of gender related issues in daily life, in politics, in economics, in education and health. We should use our ressources and energy for the greater good and make earth and even space more equal places.
Are you in?
Thanks to everyone who supports gender equality and equal opportunities! Thanks to everyone who signed the petition. Thanks to everyone who is sharing our project!
More information on our project website: https://whatisfeminism.today

How is life in space? 👩‍🚀 Did you know that in space sound doesn't carry because there aren't molecules close enough together to transmit sound between them? That’s because space is an almost perfect vacuum. That said, you couldn’t hear our Vulva Spaceship traveling through space. 👂

Our goal is for all genders to have equal opportunities. It is about imagining what is possible besides old traditions. We want to add new ideas instead of spreading existing ones.

Help us strive for gender equality in space with a revolutionary spaceship! We believe strongly that space should belong to everyone. The first spacecraft in a V-shape is not only a symbol for more diversity in space, it is also state-of-the-art! “The spaceship’s shape is surprisingly aerodynamic, creating way less drag when the vehicle punches through the Earth’s atmosphere. Due to this optimized V-shape, it guarantees maximum fuel efficiency with an exterior made of reinforced carbon which enables it to withstand the most extreme temperatures.” (Dr. Lucia Hartmann) Do you want to see this spaceship fly? It' time for new symbols in space! Our goal is to create new symbols in space. We encourage the world of science to be open to new ideas. Did you know that in a cultural and artistic context, the vulva is often depicted as a symbol for fertility and desire? But at the same time, it is still seen as a taboo in many places.

Going to space? That's one small step for a woman. 🧑🏿‍🚀🧑🏼‍🚀👩🏻‍🚀👩🏿‍🚀 Did you know that to this day, no woman ever traveled to the moon? Everyone knows Neil Armstrong's words: "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind." He had prepared that line together with his wife in advance and repeated it when he went to the moon. Now, it is time to write history again by creating diversity in space. What would you wish for the "Vulva Spaceship" to accomplish? Where would you like to go with our Spaceship? Let us know in the comments.
