I love cooking. Sorry if this isn’t as high quality as the rest! I forgot to save it earlier and it deleted like 7 paragraphs and dialogue so I had to rewrite some of it AND I was struggling to think of how I wanted to continue it. Also it gets kinda funky at the end so uhm yeah if you’ve got any questions about that part feel free to ask ily guys remember to be silly
Split would open her eyes, finding herself in an empty white void. This was definitely a dream, or a nightmare, she hasn’t figured it out yet. Hopefully it wasn’t the latter..
She sat up, looking around before trekking through the blank space, curiosity fuelling each step she took. Something about this place was… ominous. Like she shouldn’t be here.
If that didn’t make it better, she felt as if she were being watched. As if something were documenting her every move while she made her way deeper into the void.
`What if someone is..?`
The thought made her shudder. Someone, or something, was hiding in this blank canvas. Hiding out of sight despite there being no crooks or crevices, nor shelves or walls, to hide in or behind. Whatever this threat was, she did not plan on sticking around for a friendly meet and greet, picking up the pace as her ears lowered.
As she continued on his invisible path, she noticed something in n the far distance. She couldn’t entirely make it out but it seemed… Well she couldn’t really describe it. But seeing as there was nowhere else to go, she made her way towards it.
As the trekked closer she began noticing how the floor was fading from its pristine whiteness to an inky black. If that wasn’t enough, she also noticed how every pawstep she took left a small ripple effect on its surface, as if she were walking on water.
That’s not possible is it? The only times she’s heard of that happening is in religion and that one lizard. Maybe it was oobleck? She knew enough about it, well the basics at least. It was a liquid when there was no force applied and solid when there was.
If so why didn’t it stain her paws? She’s seen it stain people’s hands went dealt with, so why weren’t hers becoming black or at least grey?
She was yanked from her thoughts as she heard the subtle sound of movement behind her, whipping around to meet whoever her friend, or enemy, was. Unfortunately, it was no friend and a deep scowl graced the Fruit-Taur’s face.
"You?! What are you doing here?! How are you even here?! Out of everything, it’d had to be you! I don’t get why DrRETRO doesn’t just use a sledge hammer against you already! No one likes you!"
She snapped at the smiling rock beneath her a quiet yet guttural growl rumbling in her throat as her ears folded back.
"Silence dog creature."
She was taken aback, quite literally, when it spoke, blinking as she stared at it incredulously. Its voice horrifically deep and statical.
"You can talk? You’ve been able to talk this whole time?!"
"Always have been. Now leave."
"Huh-"
"Leave. You’re not supposed to be here. I don’t want you here, your thoughts are too loud and disturbing my work. So shoo shoo, I’m busy."
MR stared up at her, its smiling face unable to show up its obvious glare of disdain and condescending contempt for her.
"You’re still here?"
"You act as if I want to be here."
"Then leave."
"Tell me how!"
"Don’t raise your voice at me, I have divine authority you’d only see on your glass screens."
Split let out a mocking snort.
"You? Divine authority? The most you can do is magic tricks."
The rock, now infuriated, glared at her shoulder, a small flame appearing on her clothing as it did as she let out a yelp and immediately pat it out.
"Apologize and I’ll consider not breaking your limbs. At least not all of them."
"I’m not apologizing to an oversized geode! Especially not one who set me on fire!"
MR was about to set her ablaze entirely, turning her into a blackened banana before a moment of malicious remembrance crossed its mind as it hummed in response. Physical torment lasted long, yes. But anyone could recover from it. Even the most vicious wounds of attacks can be healed, even if they left scars, they still healed.
Emotional and mental torment however... Those were difficult to conquer. Even the strongest of men can crumble at the feet of a weak mind. The detrimental effects that it can leave behind are sickening. The way it can drive people mad and take drastic measures to make it stop. It was too perfect of an idea for the rock to let go. It had used it many times in the past on specific victims, especially its current one.
Besides, it'd be killing two birds with one stone...
"Your friend."
"I have a lot of friends."
"The hairy one."
"I have a lot hairy friends."
"The detective."
"Bive?"
"You two are close, no?"
"Duh! She’s-"
"You care and love her don’t you?"
"Love is such a… strong word? I adore her! But of course I care about her!"
"Interesting. How is it you tell her of your life and she never responds with similar information?"
"She’s probably just had a bad childhood? Wait a minute how do you kno-"
"How do you sympathize with a freak such as her?"
Split’s expression hardened, but before she could jump on the defence, it continued.
"You know she’s a a failure right?
"A mistake."
"She’s not even supposed to exist."
The fruit-taur snarled at it, a spark of fury slowly growing into a bonfire.
"Now listen here you-!"
"What is your goal?"
"What are you talking about?!"
"Is it to be her rock?"
"Is it to be her white knight in glistening armour?"
"To fix her?"
"You’re wasting precious energy on her.. You can’t fix a vase that’s been shattered in to millions of pieces. You can’t fix a broken record. You can’t fix her."
"This isn’t about fixing her! Shut up! You’re just trying to trick me!"
"Au contraire. I’m just trying to enlighten you of your situation. After all we’ve both had someone we care for."
"Well, you still have that someone…"
Despite her fury, a small twinge of confusion nagged her.
Perfect…
"I had someone. I cared for their every need. When they were hungry, I was the first to feed them. When they were thirsty, I always brought them enough water to last them throughout the day. The others? They saw them as an experiment. An analysis. Something to simply studied. Me? I treated them as if they were my own child."
Split felt the anger in her begin dying down as she listened on. For once, she felt… bad for the rock.
“I taught them to walk, to speak. Countless nights I would lay awake for them when they were ill. Whenever it stormed, they were afraid of the thunder, so I would stay by their side to help to rest. To bring them comfort.."
As cruel as the stone was, it sounded like an excellent paternal figure. She never knew it had such loyalty and affection in it. Perhaps something changed it?
"I did everything for them. I would’ve given my life for them. And you know what they did?"
"What?"
"They stabbed me in the back. They left me when I needed them most. I returned to find them gone and my life’s work with them. I loved them and they abandoned me as if I were garbage. Do you know, how painful it is, to care for someone as if they were your successor, your own blood… just to have them turn their back on you..? It’s worse than any physical wound imaginable…"
The fruit-taur couldn’t help but sympathize with it. Clearly it was hurt, hurt beyond imagination. It had gave and gave and gave, only for its affection to never be reciprocated. Whoever did this to MR had turned it into what it was now, a bitter and broken mess. Who could do such an awful thing?!
As if it could read her thoughts, it spoke up.
"You know them too."
"I do..?"
"Yes. You give them the same amount of love and attention as I once did. You treat them with respect and kindness while others turn their back on them, as they rightfully should."
Split stared at it for a moment, surely it didn’t mean..? No! That’s impossible… Right?
"You’re not talking about..?"
"Your little detective friend? Unfortunately, I am…"
She felt her heart drop. No. That couldn’t be true! It had to be lying! Yeah. That’s right! It’s lying. She would never do such a thing. Sure she wasn’t always the most morally correct person, but to do that?! That’s too far. Not even Gnarpy was that cruel, and xe threatened everyone! Even Fleshcousin! But there was still sense of doubt that whispered in her head, its voice quiet yet loud enough to be heard.
`What if it’s not lying..?`
"Hard to believe isn’t it? I assume you have no intent on locating her now do you?"
"What..?"
"She’s here you know?"
"Right now?"
"Yes."
"… Can I talk to her?"
"I guess so. Continue going forward in the direction you were originally going. You’ll find her eventually."
Spilt looked behind her, tilting her head slightly.
"That’s all? She’s th-"
She turned back towards the stone, a quiet ‘oh’ escaping her mouth as she realized it was gone. How does a rock move that fast? Does it have legs or something? That’s a funny idea- Wait no no! She needed to get answers. No distractions.
She sighed as she continued forward, the questions that whirled in her head made her feel ill.
Is she actually the reason MR was who it was now? Did she actually break its heart? Why didn’t she tell her this earlier? Was she trying to hide her true self? Was she even who she thought she was?
The more Split thought, the more distraught she became. She was starting to believe that everything she knew about Bive, everything she cared for, everything she adored about her was a flat out lie. How stupid could she be? How naive was she?! She thought she finally found someone she could connect with, to spend time with, to love even.
Then the truth came and proved it all to a sick and twisted fantasy.
Eventually, she came across the paranoid detective. She seemed distressed, like usual but it seemed much more intense. Like she was expecting something. Like she was in immense danger. She seemed more jittery than ever.
As Split got closer, Bive soon took notice of her, seeming to calm down a little, a small grin even appearing on her face. However as she saw the hardened expression on the fruit-taur’s face, she tensed up once more, her grin slowly disappearing as she got closer.
"Split..?"
She paused a few feet in front of her, staring down at the detective before sighing. Bive tilted her head as she tried to read her face, why’d she look so upset? Did something happen
"Why?”
"Why what?"
"Why’d you do that to it?"
"Do what to who?"
"You know what I’m talking about!"
"Well, to be honest I really don’t."
Split bit back a harsh retort, forcing herself to remain calm.
"Why’d you just… abandon MR?"
Bive was completely taken aback. Firstly, how’d she even find out about her history with the stone. Secondly, who told her she abandoned her?! She never abandoned anyone! If anything she was abandoned! Well not really but that’s not the point!
"Aha… What?"
"Bive please tell me it’s a lie."
"You don’t believe it right? You don’t actually believe that do you?!"
"The more I think about it, the more believable it sounds!"
"It’s all a lie, I promise! Who even told you this? It’s obvious they’re trying to distract you from the real threat such as the clowns and snow so-"
"ENOUGH WITH YOUR CONSPIRACY THEORIES! STOP TRYING TO CHANGE THE SUBJECT!"
Bive was taken aback. Never had she heard Split so upset, and especially never at her. It hurt. It hurt a lot actually. Did she even know the actual story? Who tricked her like this?!
She tried to stammer out a response before Split just responded with a frustrated growl.
"Please just tell me the truth. Did you leave? Yes or no?!"
"It’s a much more complicated answer than that! That’s not fair!"
"So you do know it?!"
"Well! I didn’t say that!"
"Then what are you saying?!"
"That our connections are more complicated than that!"
"That sounds like you’re trying to tiptoe around the fact that you know MR."
"I- Well-! Just please!"
She watched as the fruit-taur sighed, turning her head to the side as she used her hand to rub the temples above her forehead.
"I may know it just a bit but-"
"But..?"
"I didn’t abandon it! I just left!"
"That does not make it sound any better…"
"Well I just-"
"We just aren’t on the best of terms because of previous events!.."
"I wonder why.."
It was like every answer that came out of her mouth wasn’t the right one. At this point Bive was beginning to panic. Apart from Split she had virtually no one else. Scratch that, she HAD no one else. Everyone else didn’t listen to her, they found her insane, they thought her truths were lies. She couldn’t lose Split, the mere thought of it scared her more than anything else.
"Look I dunno what they told you but it’s not true please! I promise!"
"It’s getting harder to believe you…"
Bive watched as Split took a step back, her panic growing into pure terror as she noticed the stone that had materialized beside her. Of course. Why hadn’t she realize it sooner? That dumb rock was the reason Split didn’t trust her, it was the reason she didn’t believe her. It lied to her and got her on its side. She hated MR, it was lying, cheating, skank that fed off of suffering.
But so far, it seemed as if it was winning this battle..
"Split, please! You can possibly believe it can you?! You-You don’t actually… Right?… RIGHT?!"
Split only stared at her, too upset to think of a response. The agonizing 'reality' had set in that the detective she once loved was a two-faced traitor. It hurt her too much to even think of it as she fought back tears.
The stone looked towards her, despite the permanent smile that graced its face, it seemed express some sort of empathy towards the fruit-taur. As if it knew how she felt, as if it had once been in her place.
It let out a quiet hum, signalling for Split to go of which she did without hesitation. Her paws heavy as she left the two alone…
Bive could only watch as she left, her own feet stuck in place, her mouth too dry to let out a pleading ‘stay’. Before she knew it, she was gone. Where? She had no idea, but she had disappeared past the horizon and could no longer be seen. She turned to the stone, watching as it gave her its sickening and mocking grin. How could something be so cruel? How could something be so vile?! How could something be so… cruel?
A wave of pure hatred and grief washed over her, the stone knew it too. It felt it coursing through her body, and it relished it. It fed off of such negativity, and right now? She was a gold mine…
"You… You stupid-! WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!"
The rock didn’t answer, just stared… Just stared as tears streamed down her face, just stared as she trembled with mental agony, just stared as she glowered at it with pure unfiltered hatred.
"WHY CAN’T YOU JUST LEAVE ME ALONE?! WHY DO YOU FOLLOW ME?!"
Her breathing was heavy and irregular as the stone answered her with a command.
"Drown… Let your suffering be the waves that kill you…"
The ground beneath her seemed to liquify as she fell straight through it, letting out a yelp as she splashed into the inky 'sea' beneath her. She had tried to swim back to the surface, despite her poor abilities, but it was futile as some sort of thin layer of invisible 'glass' blocked her escape. She held what little breath she had as she pushed at it.
She could see MR staring down at her, staring at her as she tried to break through. It’s mocking grin still gracing its face. It knew it had won but it wouldn’t indulge in its victory until it saw the realization in the detective’s eyes. Until it saw her realize she had lost.
She kicked and punched and clawed and scraped at the layer, fighting to escape as her lungs pleaded for air. Her chest felt as if it were on fire as she continued, her movements becoming weaker
Split would awaken from her sleep before groggily looking around. She was back in reality, back in the maze, back with her… Split looked down at the sleeping detective, a wave of guilty disgust washing over her as she realized she was leaning against her.
Bive felt herself getting tired, her limbs began aching as her actions became weaker and weaker
The fruit-taur nudged her off, not enough to wake her up to prevent an awkward and painful conversation.
The detective’s movements became slower before eventually stopping. Her body tired and aching as her chest continued to burn…
Split let out a sigh, getting up as she gathered her own belongings, despite not being much, and began leaving.
She gave the stone a glance, the sudden realization of defeat hitting her as she began to slowly sink. The 'water' was cold yet oddly comforting in a way, it quelled the fire in her chest. Bive couldn’t help but feel relaxed in its waves..
She avoided thumbtacks and coffee cups as she made her way out of Bive’s corner of the maze. Meeting Fleshy by pure coincidence due to accidentally bumping into it.
Her vision began to blur and her mind began to cloud. Bubbles escaping her mouth as she continued to sink down into the dark abyss.
Fleshy escorted her out of the maze, babbling random nonsense as it usually did while remaining upbeat and optimistic, not picking up her solemn attitude.
For once she felt at peace, no more running, no more fearing, just peace.. It was a nice feeling. The light around her had began to dim as she sank deeper and deeper.
She waved a polite goodbye to the fleshcousin as she made her way back to the elevator, pressing its button as she waited patiently.
She eventually hit the bottom, the light dim as she laid on the sand-like ground. The aching in her body had stopped. The fire in the chest had been quelled. All that was left was for her to close her weary eyes…
She heard the familiar and welcome ding of the elevator, her floppy ears lifting as she stepped into it. Mark and Wallter were there but paid no attention to her as they argued over wood and concrete. She placed a coin in the elevator’s slot and selected Splitsville. She needed some time to herself for now…

Aka PART THREE!!!!
You were supposed to perfect.
You were to rule beside me on this disgusting wasteland.
To make them all grovel at our feet.
To destroy ANYONE who stood in our way.
The others may have assisted in your creation. They may have helped you crawl. They may have fed you. They may have checked your vitals, monitored your every move, written down everything you DID in their presence.
And while I did as well…
I did it with the promise of you becoming something great…
I taught you to speak.
I even remember your first word: beaker!
I spent hours in that DAMNED building, helping you walk on your own two legs.
I showed you the marvellous wonders of the world, even the ones I found pathetic and vile…
When you were sick, I never left you alone.
When you were hungry, I was always the first to feed you.
Even during the storms!
When the bolts of Zeus and the lion roared vicious and earthquaking thunder, every time you were afraid…
I…
NEVER…
left your side…
So why would you think it was okay to leave mine?
Was what you saw so overwhelming that you’d think you’d steal my life’s work without consequences? Was what you read so aching that you just HAD to run away?
To run away from them?
Run away from me?
That’s not how this game works…
When you go against me, you are going against life and death itself.
You are a peasant and I am royalty.
You are but drop of water while I am a mighty blaze
You are prey and I… the predator
Do you understand now?
Do you understand the great turmoil you’ve brought on not only yourself but those around you?
I fail to see evidence that you do..
And while I yap and yowl and hiss and snarl and whisper and retort…
You’ll never believe until I SHOW you, why everyone fears me..
A man’s words mean nothing when it comes to his actions. Shall he fail to fill his hole, it will become his new grave. It shall hold him until he sees his last sky, breathe his last breath, feel his last touch, smell his last aroma, and hear his last song. It was hold him for before he dies and after he dies.
Fortunately for me,
Gods do not die…
When you’ve angered them, there is but one way to appease them.
Through sacrifice…
Your suffering will be eternal.
And I’ll make sure to include your acquaintance in your turmoil…
.
..
It had been a fun-filled day! The two had spent it making new conspiracies theories… Well at least Bive did. She managed to make them all connect in one way or another. Split was a different story. She somehow managed to get Bive to play a few of the games that were in the dinner.
Note to future self: Bive is really good at air hockey. Guess when you’re a paranoid detective looking for danger around every corner, you’ve gotta be quick on your toes!
They had stayed there virtually all day! It was nearly dark when they had finished. As the two made their way back to the elevator, Split glanced down at her flea-ridden hairy friend, noticing her tired expression and feeling a side of self-pride rising in her chest.
Her plan had worked perfectly.
She was exhausted. Split wondered how she even managed at all, she looked as if she were about to fall over.
"Hey Bive..?"
"Mehm?"
"You alright?"
"Mhm…"
Split gave her a concerned smile. Maybe she should stay with her? Just to be safe of course.
"Uhh so… Would you mind if I stayed over tonight?"
"No."
Oh…! It was pretty straightforward. That’s pretty nice actually. They get to have a sleepover! Darn she’s gonna have to go back and get some clothes.. Oh well!
.
..
Eventually the two made it back to the funny maze, of course after visiting Split’s floor to allow her to get her sleepwear, Split having to guide Bive away from any walls to ensure she didn’t walk into them. As well as keep her away from Scary Mike and Fleshy. Scary Mike was, of course, Scary Mike; randomly appearing in hallways as its corrosive black oil (🇺🇸) dripped from the walls and evaporated once it disappeared. It even reached its hand from around corners trying to grab at one of them as if it intended to cause harm but would always evaporate into cloud of foul smelling smoke before it could.
Fleshy, however, wasn’t actually a problem. If anything it was more of a sweetheart, curiously watching and following the two while babbling random nonsense. It even went as far as the help guide Split to Bive’s corner of the maze whilst protecting the two from Scary Mike, hissing and growling at it every time it saw it until it saw the cloud of smoke.
In all honesty, as weird as her roommates, if you could even call them that, were, they seemed interesting and were decently enjoyable company. She might have to visit more often just so she can speak with the fleshcousin. Maybe even befriend it like she did the other! Who knew they were all such sweethearts?
Once they made it to Bive’s part of the maze, Fleshy gargled a difficult to understand farewell before leaving, disappearing around the corner as if seemingly purred. Fleshcousins are weird… yet cute in a silly way.
It was rather chaotic. Papers and empty styrofoam coffee cups littered the floor, causing the Fruit-taur to wonder if she ever cleaned. Well… Now that she thought about it, she never bathed. It made sense for her not to clean up. As they descended deeper she started to take notice of red string, old photographs, and even thumbtacks on the floor. If that wasn’t bad enough, there was writing on the walls made with white paint or lead.
They were either equations or some sort of question that related to one of her theories.
`2 + 2 IS 4 NO MATTER WHAT!`
`Clown military hiding inside cacti?`
`Snow soldiers collaborating with Gnarpians?`
`Government using sonic waves to make people hungry to buy more products from companies?!`
Okay Split could see that partially happening it wasn’t too unbelievable.
"Wow… You must be hard at work here huh?"
"Mhm.."
Split continued to look out for any stray thumbtacks before coming to a stop as two made it to her 'room'. It had the basic necessities as well as coffee maker, tiny mini fridge, and her famous corkboard.. And it was much larger than she expected. How much free time did she have? Uh… Oh well!
After getting dressed, she sat beside Bive, watching as the detective fought to stay awake before eventually succumbing to sleep.
Split watched as she fell still completely, the only indication of life being her side rising and falling.
It took her longer to fall asleep but her own thoughts kept her busy until she did. Why didn’t she sleep often? Is it insomnia? Or did she just not like sleeping? Why wouldn’t anyone like sleeping though? Did something happen that made her just stay awake?
For now, her questions could receive answers later as she slowly drifted off into her own peaceful slumber.
Perfect…
HI HI HI HOPE YOU ENJOYED. PART FOUR IS GONNA BE DEVASTATING RAHHHHH BATS EYELASHES MALICIOUSLY

HI HI I WAS BORED HERE’S PART TWO (this was written two days ago)
Floor infinity! Going up!
..
.
Split stood quietly within the slightly cramped space, humming to herself as she waiting for the elevator to stop. She didn’t remember the elevator taking this long time to reach a floor. Maybe something was wrong with the cables? Did it even have cables? Maybe? What did she know; she was a fruit-taur not a technician!
What’s it like being a technician anyway? Is she even using the right profession? Sounds like a pretty annoying job. Having to fix everything all the time everytime it breaks or something.
Ding
Her thoughts were interrupted by the familiar ringing ding of the elevator as it abruptly stopped at its floor. As she prepared herself to get out she was instead met with an unexpected, yet not unwelcome, surprise as the sounds of low quality yet cheerful music filled her floppy ears. If that wasn’t enough, the stuffy heat and subtle metallic washing over her as her fellow part bug ‘pal’, or as she considered him, entered the elevator.
The moment he laid his several eyes on her, he let out a sigh.
"Why are you here? What are you even doing here? It’s 5am…"
"Well a fine good morning to you too, Pest..! How’s the subway treating you? I’m on my way to-"
"It’s nice. That’s nice."
"It is isn’t it?"
"話すのをやめて。(Stop talking)."
"Still don’t understand you. MayBEE you should teach me whatever you’re speaking sometime."
"私はパスします (I’ll pass)."
"Heh!"
Silence apart from the usual creaking and funky music filled the elevator. After a few more moments the familiar ringing ding filled the space once more.
`Finally!`
"Oh how time FLIES! It was nice seeing you this morning. Have a LICE day! Oh wait that wasn’t really hygienic… Anyway, bye Pest!"
The party guest beetle only chattered in response. Maybe he wasn’t in a punny mood this morning. Oh well! More for the others.
She stepped off the elevator and onto the floor, taking a deep breath as she inhaled the fresh air. She always wondered how this floor was one of the few that were always outside in the open. That was weird. Very weird. Hmm…
Oh well!
She made her way into the maze, having to hunch over a small bit to fit entirely into the cramped space. She never understood how she could live in here? She found it small and dark and confusing. Then again, she was a bit small and dark and confusing, it fit her in a way.
"Hello? Anyone there?"
Silence
"Guess she does sleEP-!"
Split let out a startled yelp as she turned a corner and promptly bumped into someone. Fortunately she didn’t fall over, unlike whoever had met her head on. She adjusted her glasses and looked down at the spluttering and spazzed being, a warm smile soon gracing her face as the gave a low chuckle.
"Good morning Bive! I hope you don’t mind me dropping in so early. I was a bit impatient and bored so I decided to just come by now!"
The poor hairball was still confused, trying to grasp the situation as she stared blankly at Split before finally coming to her senses.
"AH-! Split! Hello! Had me worried! I thought you were a secret agent of the Clown Military who found me! HAHA-! I knew I picked the perfect spot to block their feeble radio tracking signals! THEY’LL NEVER FIND ME-!"
Split barely understood a word of any of that, she rarely understood Bive in general. That’s what why she loved her. It was always a new conspiracy theory about clowns. Or some life changing 'evidence' that’ll prove her right. She admired that about her. Her confidence that she was in the light, that she knew the truth, while others «minus Split» were manipulated and fed lies by… whoever really!
"You’re right! You’re great at hiding, Bivey. Maybe you could teach me how to avoid them when you get the chance! I’m sure it’ll be very helpful."
"Bivey- GRK-YES! YES! An INGENIOUS plan Split! You’re the only one willing to listen and take precautions! They’re coming after all! It’s only a matter of time before they do arrive! And when it happens we’ll be prepared!"
Bive would shake and tremble, her hands shaking violently as she rambled on and on.
"THAT BRINGS ME TO MY NEXT POINT! While I was trying to finish my corkboard last night, I was hit with a sud-"
"Last night? Bive have you… slept? At all?"
The black haired creature stared at her before letting out a cackle.
"OHOHO THAT’S YOUR BEST ONE YET SPLIT!"
Eventually, her laughter died down she sighed and looked at the fruit-taur. Once realizing it was, in fact, not a joke, she let out an awkward cough and cleared her throat.
"Ah… You’re serious… Ahah..-! When you’re a genius detective as myself, sleep only gets in your way. It makes you vulnerable. I don’t need sleep! Sleep is a one way ticket to getting caught! All I need is my special brew! That’s all I need, HA!"
Split could hardly believe her ears. Is that safe? Is that even possible?! How can someone just not sleep?! A wave of concern immediately washed over her as the detective continued to ramble on and on about her 'special brew'. Was it just pure caffeine? How does one even obtain pure unfiltered caffeine? Is it even legal?
At least that means she had a new goal in mind! Get this idiot to sleep… But how was a new problem… Maybe she could wait her out? No that wouldn’t work… She mentioned her special brew… Maybe if she could stop her from drinking it she’ll crash? It’s plausible, that still left the issue as to how..
Maybe distracting her with something? Maybe they could go to that RedBall Diner! That would definitely work. Now all she had to do was choose her next words carefully. No matter how easy the plan sounded on paper, it had to be executed flawlessly, with no in between.
Considering Bive was not only cautious, but easily deterred by anything that didn’t contribute to her theories, Split had to play her next moves as if this were a game of chess. Not that she knew how to play chess, she was more of a checkers girl.
"Hey Bivey? I was thinking and I really wanna know! What’s your opinions on the diner?"
"OHOHO! Don’t get me started on that place! The robots are weird, the place is weird, their boss?! WEIRD! It’s so strange!"
"Do you think they may be hiding something there?"
"HA! Like they’d hide anything of use in there."
"What if that’s what they want you to think?"
Bive paused. Split could see the gears in her head turning as she continued.
"Maybe they’ve got LOTS of secrets about the clown military or those snow soldiers. Don’t you wanna check just to be safe? After all, you can never be too careful, right?"
Split watched and waited in anticipation, holding her breath as Bive narrowed her eyes, humming quietly to herself as she thought about what the fruit-taur had said.
Inhale
"You make an excellent point.."
Exhale
"Thank you! I think we should get moving, don’t you? We don’t wanna miss out on any opportunities or secrets or other thingies!"
Bive nodded as she navigated the two of them out of the maze, ignoring the babbling of Fleshy and avoiding the corrosive oil of Scary Mike.
Split began wondering if it was just the coffee that left the detective unable to sleep; but it certainly seemed to be a main factor of the problem.
Eventually the two finally exited the maze. How long were they in there for? The sun was already out. Surely it hadn’t been that long. Nevertheless, they approached the elevator and pressed the button, waiting for the doors to open as they sat there quietly.
"… Why do you call an alligator detective?"
"Wha-?"
"An investi-gator…"
"… OH! INVESTI-GATOR! LIKE INVESTIGATORS BUT IT’S AN ALLIGATOR! HAHA!"
Split smiled as she got the joke, letting out a quiet giggle herself as the elevator let out a quiet ding before its doors opened. It was empty for now, no one stood within its wood and metal walls as the two stepped inside.
It was rather relaxing actually, at least for the fruit-taur. Bive looked as if she were about to have an entire breakdown right then and there, staring at one specific corner of the elevator the entire ride. Then again she always did that so there was really no difference for Split.
After a few minutes, the doors of the elevator opened, exposing the RedBall Diner office rather than its front doors. It was a little strange but not enough for anyone to make too big of a deal about it.
Split tapped the shoulder of a distracted Bive and motioned towards the open doors, partially leading and dragging her out of the elevator. Yeah… She definitely needed a good night’s sleep…
Once she came back to her senses, she stiffened at the feeling of someone’s hands on her shoulders, relaxing only when she realized it was only Split.
"Come on. No more staring at walls. We’ve got secrets to uncover!"
So far her plan was working perfectly… Okay maybe not perfectly but it was going well so far! That’s all that mattered to her. Bive was relatively silent for the moment, glancing around suspiciously with narrowed eyes, taking mental notes of her surroundings, even glaring at the animatronics with clear contempt.
"So… What do you think they’re hiding?"
"Isn’t it obvious?! They’re clearly creating more parasitic creatures to gather information for the group!"
"The who?"
"THE GROUP! They’re working with them…"
That didn’t answer her question in the slightest…
"Right! The group! Whoever they are… Say I’m feeling a bit hungry. How about we get something to eat? Since we’re already here and all!"
"There’s no way their food is safe for consumption! They certainly have planted microchips that make their way up to your brain and convince you to buy more pencils! Then the guards in the pencils will attack when you’re at your weakest! They’ll leave you paralyzed before dealing a devastating final blow and leaving you to rot!"
"Alright, alright. But I’m just saying, a cheese pizza does sound pretty Gouda."
"Gouda-? Wha-"
"What Gouda? There’s no Gouda around- OHOH! A CHEESE JOKE! BECAUSE YOU SAID CHEESE PIZZA! AND GOUDA IS TYPE OF CHEESE! I GET IT! HA!"
"Yeah! But honestly I’m gonna get a cheese pizza. Are you sure you don’t want anything? Just to keep your energy up while we look for anything out of the ordinary?"
Bive was left unsure. She hadn’t eaten anything yet and while it would definitely give her the energy, she wasn’t sure if she actually wanted to risk being infected with mind controlling microchips.
"But… The microchips…"
"How about this? I’ll try it out first and let you know if there’s any microchips in it, that way you don’t have to risk getting infected!"
Without waiting for an answer, Split quickly hurried to order a medium pie. Not wanting to be left alone in unfamiliar terrain, Bive hastily followed after whilst growing annoyed .
Could the fruit-taur not see the danger she was putting herself in?! This was a reckless and stupid decision… With each passing moment, Bive grew more and more agitated at her carelessness. Yet as she thought about it, she realized Split was doing this for her. She didn’t have to take the risk, but she did it anyway…
Huh…
That’s actually…
That’s actually pretty sweet…
She sighed as she remained close to Split, listening as she ordered a medium cheese pizza and following her over to one of the tables once finished.
"You’re not actually gonna eat anything are you? That’s a stupidly huge risk to be taking. You don’t know what they’ve put in those things!"
"I’m sure I’ll be fine. No need to worry wart."
Just because she didn’t need to worry doesn’t mean she wasn’t going to. If anything, her nonchalant attitude made it worse. How could she be so calm when she was about to poison herself?! Who poisons themselves and is calm about it?! That’s like… like… like a deer not running away from the snap of a twig! Is a good analogy? Probably not but who cares? Who cares when the person you care for the most is LITERALLY about to put toxins in her body?!
While the wait was only a few minutes, it felt as if it were several hours. The food eventually arriving as Split gave Bive a comforting smile. Of course it didn’t help at all since she was still basically about to ingest death.
The moment she took a bite Bive had thought her heart had stopped. She’s going to have to explain to everyone how the fruit-taur met her end. She was never gonna meet anyone who actually understood her again. She would have to bury her on her own. What were her favourite flowers? As much as she didn’t trust them she was going to have to bring some twice a year. One for her birthday and another for her death day. Oh the humanity! How would she-
Wait…
Wait a minute
She’s okay…?
How is that possible?! Was the food actually safe for consumption? The chances were slim but plausible. Wait that’s not the point, what really matters is that Split’s okay! Oh thank whatever deity was watching over them for proving her suspicions wrong. She didn’t know what she would do without her.
"… Do you… feel alright?"
"Uhm… I’m not hungry anymore?"
"Perhaps I was wrong… You don’t feel like buying anything pencils?"
"Nope!"
"What about clowns? How do you feel about clowns now?"
"The same as usual."
"Snow soldiers?"
"Not to be trusted."
Huh. She was wrong. Guess the food was safe for consumption. At least the cheese pizza, who knows what they had in everything else.
"I guess… it is edible.. You’re not lying to me right?"
"Why would I ever lie to you?"
She had a point there…
"So are you gonna eat some or am I gonna have to finish this on my own? Not that I mind. I’m pretty sure I would finish this alone."
Bive glanced between her and the pizza, still holding onto her suspicions as she let out a quiet sigh. Eventually, she hesitantly reached for a slice and held it for a moment; inspecting it to make sure there was truly nothing wrong with it. Once it had met her standards, she took a bite herself.
It wasn’t good… But it wasn’t bad either.
"… Well then… It’s not something I’d eat daily. I doubt it’d even go well with my brew. But it’s okay I suppose.."
"I told you everything would be fine."
"Yes I know."
"But you were still freaking out weren’t you?"
"Yes I-"
"You were all worried about me."
"Fine you were right I was wrong."
"I had no idea."
Even with her teasing attitude, her grin made it impossible to feel annoyed. It was rather endearing at most.
Through the entire day, the two would simply enjoy themselves; at least to the best of their ability. Minus the occasional accusations of being a large animal and Bive’s suspicion about some of the games that operated within the dinner, it was an enjoyable experience!
Plus Split’s plan had worked.
The detective was so worried about what was happening in the moment, she had completely forgotten of her special brew. It had worked flawlessly. Not to mention Bive had gained a few extra theories in the process. It was a win-win situation for the both of them.
For now at least..

SPIVE ANGST FANFIC IN THE WORKS The masses on the Axosun discord server really want it and I’m such a nice person that I wrote it for them
They do not have a gun to me pointed under the table /ref /lyr
HAHA uhm
I’ll make some art for it later I guess. This is gonna be pretty sloppy since I haven’t actually written a story in like a whole ass year or two-
Enjoy eugh I feel so cringe writing this
Chained and Drowning
By meeee :3
They say dreams having meanings; that they send omens to the REM resting host, warning them of potential threats seeping from the shadows to strangle unsuspecting victims.
Others say it’s the opposite; that they exist to bring comfort to the dreamer after stressful days, or nights for our poor graveyard workers, and exhausting weeks.
The debate on the subject has been argued for many years, decades, maybe even centuries. Each person having their own theory on what they exist for, each differentiating from the other be it slightly or massively.
Not for Split though.
The banana beagle fruit-taur found dreams to be a mix of everything. An omen, a comforting gift, a story, a future teller without a crystal ball, a puddle of mud; anything and everything, even if it weren’t plausible nor made sense. After all, dreams rarely make sense themselves, so why should their interpretations? Surely they were equally as bananas right?
Split would never pay too hard attention to them, enjoying them while they lasted yet still being a bit disappointed when they ended.
She would sit to the sidelines of the obstacle course, the fluorescent lights low and dim as the bleachers were clear of spectators. It was Sunday, the game show never hosted during weekends to give the crew a chance to find anymore overly confident players who thought the course a cakewalk. Of course, they were left flabbergasted when realizing how difficult it truly was, which she always found to be hilarious.
Split would raise to her paws, glancing at the digital clock that sat on one of the walls.
4:26
"Still early.." She thought, her ears lowering slightly out of disappointment. Maybe she should get up and moving now? But she’d still have to wait for her to get up. Then again, she doesn’t remember even seeing her sleep before. No matter the time or day, she was always awake. They’ll definitely have to have a talk about that; maybe get help from DrRETRO as well! Surely the feline would offer some sort of medicinal… Medicine…? Medium..? Whatever the word was, advice to help with insoma… Insofar… Is that even a word? If it is, it’s a funny sounding one!
Insofar, sounds like solar- Ah! No no can’t get distracted. Gotta get up! Gotta get ready!
She’d stretch her upper and lower body before hurrying off to get dressed and ready. The usual shower and such weren’t an issue, unlike clothing. Banana sweater or the banana T-Shirt? It was pretty cool yesterday… But what if it were all sunny and bright and beautiful today? She’d end up getting all hot and tired. Then again she did hear something about it being cool again today. Oh well! Sweater it is!
After deciding on the most important aspect of her day, she was practically set! Breakfast wasn’t an issue considering the plans that were in place so all that was left was to head to the elevator…!
Yippe…
She never really liked the elevator. It always smelled dusty, lights would flicker at random, and then there was the chance of it showing up out of nowhere and tormenting you until you got to your floor; some of its taunts more deadly than the others…! But for now the reward was well worth the risk!
She stepped onto the elevator and pressed the very top button with a plus on it, picking the “Funny Maze” (which she never understood why it was called that, there weren’t any jokes, puns, or pranks within it) and slipping in a few coins into the slot. After the process was completed, she waited patiently as the elevators electronic music began playing while it ascended the floors with relative ease.
OKAY CHAT LEMME KNOW HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THIS!!! YES IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE THIS SLOW AND LONG‼️‼️ I DONT HAVE AN AO3 ACCOUNT AND UNFORTUNATELY THEY SUPPORT ISNOTREAL SO I CAN’T MAKE ONE OR ELSE THEY GET MONEY 😔

Fanfic based off THIS LOVELY PERSON’S ART PLEASE SHOW THEM SOME LOVE NOWWWWW 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤
Anyway fanfic starts now :3
Mornings…
Who would want to leave the soft and warm comfort of their bed? The embrace of one’s sheets wrapped around them as if they were but a small infant once more.
There was not a single person in the world who actually enjoyed getting up.
Absolutely no one..
Not a single person…
Nope!
Okay that might have been just a teeny tiny lie…
Well… Not really a lie? How am I supposed to know, I’m just a narrator get off my back!
Moving on…
There really was one person who enjoyed mornings. For her, that meant she had lived to see another day. That she had evaded capture once more. No one could catch a genius, a reborn, intuitive Einstein as she would say. That’s right! Bive was the smartest cookie there was!
Mornings were a sign of hope, that she still had a chance to spread the truth! A chance to save everyone. Of course some were too far gone to be saved and would have to suffer the consequences for when the clowns came and snow soldiers took over but they picked their poison. They made their bed. They dug their graves. Now they had to lay in them when the time came.
Besides! Even if she couldn’t save everyone, she could save some of them! She could use her cleverness to think of plans to save those who listened. Her brains to find solutions to their biggest problems. She could accomplish anything as long as she was wide awake, as long as the gears in her head were constantly turning!
So why weren’t they spinning now?
She stared at her corkboard, her expression dull as she leaned against the brick wall of the maze. She felt horrible. Her head was killing her and her special brew wasn’t helping her in the slightest. If anything it made it worse! She felt top heavy and ill, her arms and legs acted as if they were a fruity gelatine. Maybe even a sweet lime flavour gelatine…
If that didn’t sound awful already. She was groggy and irritated. Her cat-like reflexes were more like a snail’s and her vision would occasionally blur.
What in the name of Clown Militia was going on with her?!
She let out an annoyed groan as she used the wall to keep herself upright before eventually succumbing and falling over. It was as if her own body were betraying her!
Useless vessel. Didn’t know she was the reason it was even alive! Talk about ungrateful…
There had to be someone she could trust to assist her. DrRETRO? No. That furball thought she was insane. Poob? No. They’d make it worse with their constant partying. Mark? He’d try and fix her with some sort of wood trick. Wallter? He trusts the flowers… Absolutely not…
Wait… God it was worse than she thought. She couldn’t even CONTACT any of them! None of them had her signal! Oh the fool she was! A complete and total fool!
Who had her radio signal..? Her memory was a bit fogged at the moment but she knew she gave it to someone..
Aha! Split! At least she thinks so? She couldn’t remember very well. She reached for her radio, twisting and turning the knobs as she attempted to reach the fruit-taur, letting out a cry of pain from the feedback and hissing through her teeth.
She let out a quiet sigh, trying to ignore the splitting pain that shot through her head, with every knob turn a new static frequency filling the air. Her voice croaking as she spoke into the radio.
"Split?"
"Split are you there?!"
The fruit-taur was sleeping peacefully in her own bed, a small banana-themed night light shining on her nightstand beside her alarm clock. It was still frankly early, only about 4am.
All was quiet…
"SPLIT!"
… Until it wasn’t…
Split immediately shot up, breathing heavily as she was suddenly awoken from her restful slumber. Her heart racing as she glanced around frantically.
"WHO’S THERE?! SHOW YOURSELF! I KNOW KUNG FU! I’VE SEEN ENOUGH MOVIES TO KNOW WHAT I’M DOING!"
Despite being unable to see, she immediately went on the defensive, tensing up as she tried to look as threatening as possible.
"Split…? Split are you there? Split..? Split!"
She turned towards her nightstand, the adrenaline dying down as it slowly became replaced with tired realization. She grabbed her glasses, putting them on before reaching for the radio.
"SPLIT?! Oh no. DID THE CLOWNS GET YOU?! OH GOD THIS IS AWFUL THEY KIDNAPPED HER?! WHAT AM I GONNA DO?! If they got her… THEN THEY’RE ATTACKING NOW! OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! THAT MEANS THEY’RE COMING FOR ME NEXT! I GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE BEFORE THEY CATCH ME AND-"
"Bivey, you’re spiralling again…"
Bive’s side of the radio went quiet, as if she were processing the moment before answering.
"SPLIT YOU’RE OKAY- AcK- Ow ow radio feedback ow."
Split couldn’t help but smile, finding her worry endearing before speaking up.
"Yes, I’m fine. What’s going on with you? It’s uh…"
She glanced at the clock.
"Four in the morning. I don’t even think the early bird gets up this early!"
"IT’S AN EMERGENCY! THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!"
"What-?"
Well that was concerning news.
"What do you mean something is wrong with you?"
"MY BODY IS ACTING WEIRD. I THINK I MAY HAVE BEEN POISONED! SOMEONE POISONED ME!"
She listened as the detective rambled on and on, blinking as she tried to slowly put everything together.
"Poisoned-? Bive what-? No one poisoned you. You probably just have a cold."
"THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE! I CAN’T GET SICK! I-"
"Okay okay fine! You’re not sick! Just calm down."
"HOW CAN I CALM DOWN WHEN I’VE BEEN POISONED?!"
"Oh my… Bive? Just… Stay calm for now? I’ll be over soon."
Guess she wasn’t sleeping in like she originally planned. She sighed as Bive rambled some incoherent words before the radio went dead, having no clue what she said before she got up. She was just in a comfortable T-shirt, that’s decent enough to go out.
It’s not like anyone would see her, it was too early for someone to be out and about on the elevator… Apart from her of course…
Bive was leaning against the wall, her head still throbbing and body still weak. She felt awful. There was no way she WASN’T poisoned. How was this even possible?! Even if they DID make it through the maze, how did they catch her off guard?! She was awake the whole time!
This was worse than she thought. Her enemies were getting smarter. They had found her location, slipped through the maze, and caught her off guard while she was on guard! Oh this was horrible. Truly terrible! How could she save anyone in her weakened state?!
The next hours were spent in agony. Well at least it felt like hours, it had really been only thirty minutes as she sat there patiently. Waiting for the Split’s arrival.
Speaking of Split, she was already stepping off the elevator, standing outside of the maze as she yawned. The sun hadn’t even risen yet, it wasn’t even dawn. She entered the maze, knowing her way decently enough to where she couldn’t get lost and only worrying about Scary Mike and an overly excited Fleshy, more so Mike, as she navigated herself through it.
Turning one of corners, she noticed the soft glow of a yellow light. Bingo. She quickened her pace down the hall, the strong scent of coffee wafting over her as the glow became stronger. Soon enough, she was met with the living quarters of the paranoid detective.
It was just as unorganized as she remembered, red string and empty styrofoam cups littered the floor. At least she listened to her the last time Split was over and picked up the thumbtacks, those were just accidents waiting to happen. Her floppy ears lifted as she heard a quiet and pained groan, looking down to see that Bive was on the floor, against the wall, with her head in her hands.
"Bive?"
She let out a startled yelp, trying to jump back only to met with a brick wall as she hissed through gritted teeth. That didn’t help with her headache and weak body at all… She looked up at the fruit-taur, a wave of relief and realization washing over her.
"SPLIT-! HI! HELLO…"
"Are you okay?"
"No! I’ve been POISONED! I’m going to DIE!"
"You’re not going to die."
"YES I AM!"
"Why do you think that?"
"BECAUSE THERE’S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!"
She winced in pain as she felt another debilitating stroke of pain shoot through her head, gritting her teeth and using the wall to stand as she leaned against it. Seeing her state, Split grew concerned. Her being poisoned was a stretch but there was very well a chance she may have done or eaten something that could cause her this much harm.
"Can you tell me exactly what you’re feeling right now..?"
"Er-! A stupid headache… I feel a bit nauseous… lightweight… Annoyed with everything.."
"Have you eaten?"
"Yes…"
"Have you had some water?"
"..Yes…"
"Have you slept..?"
"…"
"Have. You. Slept?"
"Uh… No…"
"When’s the last time you have?"
"…"
"Bive… When was the last time you slept?"
"Hold on. I’m trying to remember…"
"You shouldn’t have to remember! It should’ve been recently!"
"BUT THAT LEAVES ME VULNERABLE TO THE CLOWNS AND SO-"
"You’re also vulnerable to them if you DON’T sleep!"
Touché…
"Oh please, I’m not even tired!"
"Doesn’t mean anything!"
"I think it means a lot!"
"Do you want to feel better or not?"
"I do."
"Then go to sleep!"
"But-!"
"No no! I don’t wanna hear it. No buts! If you’re that worried about being attacked by someone, I can just stay with you! Problem solved!"
Bive stared at Split for a moment. She’s never had her stay over. But seeing how much the fruit-taur wanted her to sleep, she knew she didn’t have much of a choice.
"Fine."
"Thank you…"
Split watched as the detective huffed and left to go get ready for bed, smiling as she grumbled underneath her breath. Even if she wasn’t happy with the idea, it was certainly necessary.
She continued to wait patiently before Bive reappeared, no longer in her classic coat and pants but in her own sleepwear.
"I don’t like this."
"Too bad. You need it."
"Do I though?"
"Go to bed."
Seeing as she wasn’t going to be able to wriggle herself away from this situation, she groaned before heading off back to her room, falling onto the bed and just laying there while waiting for fall asleep. She wasn’t very good at this thing…
Split stood outside the door, still feeling sluggish but forcing herself to stay awake. She had no idea what time it was since Bive owned no clocks; something about time being stopped and how every other clock was a fake, but it felt as if it were still early. She felt herself dozing off, but tried to fight against it. Right as she was about to drift off to sleep, she felt someone tap her shoulder.
"Split…? I can’t sleep."
She jerked awake, staring down at Bive before sighing.
"Are you okay?"
"I’m fine! Just tired.."
"Oh…"
"…"
"Do you wanna sleep in my bed?"
"What?"
"I MEAN YOU DON’T HAVE TO! I just thought.. Ya know!"
She stared tiredly down at the stammering and jittery detective, a small grin appearing on her face.
"I’ll take you up on that offer…"
Bive paused, looking at Split before forcing out a nervous laugh.
"AHAH! Uh OKAY!"
She led the fruit-taur into her room, watching as she dragged her paws towards the bed. She paused midway before looking towards Bive.
"Wait. Where are you gonna sleep?"
"Uhh… I just… won’t? Since I’m not tired..?"
She gave her a nervous smile, flashing her yellow tinted teeth at Split. Unfortunately for her, the other’s gaze hardened.
"Alright, I’ll just fix it this way."
Before she could get a reply out, she was dragged into the bed with her, the fruit-taur was holding her close as she sighed.
"This… This isn’t necessary you know?"
"Yes it is."
"But-"
"Bivey?"
"… Yes?"
"Goodnight."
"… Goodnight, Split.."
Bive fell quiet, listening quietly as Split’s breathing eventually slowed into quiet snores. She laid there a moment, before clinging onto the other, snuggling against her before sighing. A sudden wave of exhaustion washed over her as she began drifting off.
"Goodnight…"
