Dropped in to visit my paternal grandfather today and he dragged out his brother’s mtDNA readout when I was updating him on some of my genetics studies.  So from what he said this seems to be simply his mother’s mother’s line which is of course the line no one on that side of the family seemed to care about (they wanted his mother’s father’s side to prove their tried and true American Irish-ness). He was pretty disappointed in it but I still find it interesting. :P
