ahhh yes i do! i guess the most obvious would be "an elegy of clouds," aka my fantasy!au ushijima fic! the original premise of it was actually from one of my original fiction plots, which is why elegy has a very special place in my heart :") i think the original fiction kind of permeates its way through the style of the fic too, as i feel my style of writing in this fic is closer to published fiction than a study in prose like scintilla is :") much more fiction than fic, i think

hii i just wanted to say i love your work,, as a fellow otter lover i went !!! at the reader in scintilla <3 ive looked up to your writing for a while and wanted some advice on how you make your characters feel like real people, if that makes sense? and what goes through your mind as you flesh out a scene :) thank you in advance <33

omg hi!! first off i wanna say how honored i am to have someone look up to my writing :") i really am just Existing and writing whatever comes to me so i'm glad i've been able to make at least somewhat of an impact with my silly little fics TT honestly i'm not really sure if what i'm gonna say will constitute as "advice" but i'll just walk you through my thought process whenever i write a scene and hope it helps, at least somewhat :")

for me, whenever i write anything involving characters (mostly dialogue specific) i always approach it as if i'm watching it in film? like i'm a third party watching two Real People having a conversation. in most cases i act it out, trying to make it so that one piece of dialogue flows correctly to another. i think a lot of this sort of "sense" comes from observation, whether that be through the media you consume or from real life. and of course, from practice :") sooner or later you'll start to have a grasp on what sounds "right" and what needs a little bit of fixing up to sound natural! and i guess my characters feel like real people because i Think of them as real people? well, i guess i just see them as sentient in my mind haha, i just go wherever they lead me :")

for fleshing out the scene, i also approach it as if it's a visual medium. if this scene was shot with a camera, if this was in a movie, what imagery would evoke the same feelings as a lens flare, a dutch angle, the extreme closeups, color grading, the swell of the orchestral soundtrack, etc. i think a big part of this is my inspiration from anime movies as well, specifically makoto shinkai and kyoto animation movies (there's a lot of directors for these, but let's take silent voice as the most prominent example)! like those directors do, i try to zone in on the little things that make up the big atmosphere. often i find that i'm not able to do those big grandiose settings with an emphasis on thesaurus-level vocabulary like some people can, so instead i try to find things that ground the reader into the scene. the small raindrops plopping, the beeping of the cash register, the white noise of cicadas chirping. imo, atmosphere is the most important factor in having your reader feel what you're trying to express, so i try to put the most emphasis in it when constructing a scene, especially the emotional ones.

i think of it this way: if the dialogue and narration of the characters are the bare bones of the scene, then the atmosphere and scenery building is everything else that makes up the Full Meaty Meal.

honestly my writing process is extremely underwhelming 😭 basically a concept appears in my mind and then i put a character into that plotline and then i brainstorm with my friend until something resembling a fic appears 😭 the rest is just me writing 2 sentences a day and then taking a smoke break afterwards, rinse and repeat until the fic is finished JSDLFKDSF

hello hello thank you very much <33 hmm i do love All my fics but i think my Favorite favorite has got to be scintilla :") it was definitely a passion project of mine, and it was a new style that i wanted to try out after seeing it in so many of my favorite fics .... it was definitely one of the Quickest fics i've ever written too, (5k in one and a half weeks .... considering i'm a Snail Writer i was definitely surprised SDJFLFKD) so i think the combination of no writing stress + brain rot made the final product sit very fondly in my mind

#so many of my favorite lines are in there too so that definitely adds to the pros #gah i just . my prose in scintilla is one of my favorites ever #and i'm usually not one to focus too much on interaction or anything but the fact that scintilla has so many notes ..... hello hello my dear <33 i'm sorry for answering this so late omg T_T admittedly i was not the Best student in regards to going above and beyond with extracurriculars and stuff, but if you Do, make sure to plan accordingly and make sure than you don't get too overwhelmed! i knew a lot of friends that only did ecs so that it could boost their apps and not because they actually enjoyed the things they were doing, and it ultimately resulted in a lot of burnout and stress :(

in regards to testing! my junior year was kinda fucked cause of miss rona so i didn't do my act/sat and my ap scores were kinda . Funky . (i am looking Directly at the 2 i got in ap chem ....) but i did do my psat! my biggest recommendation for studying sources is khan academy :3 that website actually helped me so much sjflskdfj honestly i am a very bad student that got good scores purely out of luck and (ew i hate to say this but i think Objectively . its true?) natural talent :") but khan academy helped me get a decent score when i literally procrastinated on studying for the psat until two days before the exam (don't be like me 😭). as for ap exams though, your teacher really is your best friend :") i'm assuming you have a good teacher hhhh but honestly don't be afraid to ask for help if you don't understand something! teachers are there for you to ask questions and to help you to learn :) online resources are super helpful as well! the amount of times mr organic chemistry tutor on youtube has saved my ass .... too many times to count ☝☝

hello hello thank you so much!! i'm so glad to see you enjoy atwhf omg 😭 i think because it's a tendou fic i always get surprised when ppl say they're a fan of it because i am not even a tendou stan 😭😭 i can't believe the au where he's a traitor made you his stan tho HAHAH (thank you for saying that tho, it means a lot 😭)

and hmmm, to be Honest, i think each fic was born in a different way. for atwhf, i got the idea from a prompt request i received during an event i held, and when apocalypse + tendou got sent in, the idea just clicked. funnily enough, the original premise of the fic was actually the premise of the oikawa spinoff: reader dies in the beginning and there's an entire flashback sequence to how they met. eventually that got scrapped cause i couldn't make it fit into tendou's character, and so during a brainstorming session with my friend, tendou the traitor was born :")

for strawberry marmalade, i wanted to make a fake dating au because one of my mutuals (the same friend as above actually, shoutout @/seijch, i would be nowhere without you) posted this konoha fake dating au and .... GRRR she never actually posted it but it lives in my mind rent free ....... but yeah i had a very intense makki obsession back then JSLDFKF so i thought "hell why not" and made my fanfic equivalent of a shoujo anime HAHA

in general though, usually i find myself attached to a concept, and then i find a character that is a good fit for the story i have set up in my mind!
