Friendly reminder, because Nightlife Event is on again, that if you can avoid it, you should not be wasting your credits/Cartel Coins on Black/Black Dye Modules.
Waste some time on the slots (and just like. Log in every day) to get a shit load of Cartel Market Certificates, which you can spend at the J-OS4 Underworld vendor in the Cartel Bazaar on Fleet to get (among other cool stuff) Primary Black and Secondary Black Dye Modules (if you have Hero Underworld reputation, which is easily obtained by gambling at a Contraband Slot Machine for a short while - many public guild flagships, and many public Nar Shaddaa or MekSha strongholds have them, just ask around and they are not hard to find, someone will let you stand at one for a few hours).
On most outfits, these dyes can either be used alone or mixed and matched to make your outfit appear all-black without having to blow an exorbitant amount of credits (or actual real-world money) on a one-time use dye module.
There are other ways to get a near-black look
many of the Black/Color or Color/Black dye modules are essentially an all-black dye module on outfits that already have black as one of their colors or don’t have much for a primary or secondary color. Bonus: a lot of these dyes are craftable, and I’ll bet you can find someone on here who will craft them for you on the cheap or even free, because most of us hate the swtor economy
The deep gray/deep blue (idk the exact naming of it, but the darkest gray and blue) craftable dyes are so dark as to be essentially black on a lot of armors
you can mix and match dye modules on an outfit if dyeing the chest piece and stamping it for the outfit didn’t make the rest of the outfit look the way you want. Ideally, you’ll find pieces that don’t have to be dyed or that all look good with one dye module, but if you need to, mix them up! (Just like. do so with the ones that you crafted or got cheap)

Random SWTOR thought as I fight with a fic chapter (out, damn you):  They need to digitize Padme Amidala’s wardrobe and charge appropriately exorbitant numbers of credits for it -- not cartel coins.  That’ll fix the economy really fast.
Shower thought from last week that didn’t get posted:  everyone gets date night with their romantic partner once.   Buuuuut if you pony up an exorbitant amount of credits OR get a companion to 50 (and thereby spend a ton of credits to increase reputation), you get daily repeatable date night quest.
(literally writing ANYTHING but the fic)

YES! Dark red and black dye module to the rescue! I vastly prefer the look of the original Life Day Officer Jacket from the concept art, and I'm SO glad that I found a way to get it! (The shiny blue is still cool looking, and I think it's awesome that they're essentially giving us a free shiny dye effect.)

Tyrrnith's new drip
I decided to get Tyr a new flagship outfit. I present to you The Sovereign of Zakuul!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, it's basically just the Zakuulan Inquisitor's set with Senya's saber. I wanted to give Tyr an Alliance/Zakuulan-esque look to fit his new characterization. Flushed 40 bucks down the drain, but it was worth it. What do you guys think?

Let it never be said this little shit isn't fashion-conscious ever again.
AKA: a selection of Corrain's various outfits. You can tell that there's a progression from 'jedi clothes' to 'armor and/or black' that's in keeping with a certain trauma arc, lmao
With bonus blurry post-KOTXX outfit after he and Zakuul both figure out he's technically their crown prince, not Arcann (even if the carbonite set him back five years and made him the youngest, lol).
Zakuul ended up liking him a lot after the Arcann-and-Vaylin fiascos, and - they reconstitute their government into a constitutional monarchy with the Alliance overseeing the electoral process, then chuck him onto the throne as executive power and head of state. He's...a little miffed by the whole thing, lmao.

Just a jacket appreciation post. I love how there are so many patterns in this jacket, and it dyes beautifully. As long as you get the one that drops and not the cartel market version which parts of it stubbornly stay orange.
I love the attention to detail about the mending on the bottom of the jacket. This is clearly a well-loved article of clothing. At least by Mistii.

Imperial fashion icon strikes again!
I'm entertaining the notion that this just needs a nice long cape in the same fabric as the chest wrap, and it will be quite suitable for Khel's eventual wedding attire :D
Now I just need to figure out what Quinn will be wearing....

Was playing some Space Barbie with the rotten avocado today, and wanted to show off some of her outfits that have probably been shown off before, but have maybe been tweaked a little.
Tumblr media
Good for missions where blending into a crowd is required, versatile as the jacket can look very dressy or very trashy, depending on the situation (is she more or less dressed up than people around her? and based on how she carries herself, she can seem more or less respectable/low-lifey, as the situation calls for).
Tumblr media
Obvi, just a standard issue Imperial uniform. Nothing terribly flashy, but makes it obvious that she Belongs in Imperial spaces in an official capacity.
Tumblr media
I'm in love with this jacket, tbh, and I have an outfit built around it for almost all of my agents and smugglers because I just like the look of it so much, even if it doesn't make sense for them story-wise. For Tulia, this look started as trying to be her Hand of Jadus outfit, then turned into basically an all-purpose "look like you're supposed to be there and no one will question it" kind of outfit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are her Hand of Acina look (with and without helmet). I dig the more armored look for her time serving Acina, because as acrimonious as their relationship is, Acina is probably the Sith she has served who takes the best care of her and like. Invests the most into making sure that the beings in her employ don't die on the job.
Tumblr media
Bonus: I'm still working out building a new Hand of Jadus look for her, but it hinges on the Reaper chestpiece, which I do not own, and I don't know if I want to drop 1440 cartel coins for the set or like nearly a billion credits for just the chestpiece. Also the technolith tuning isn't required but it looks sick.

What kind of clothes is your oc most comfortable wearing?
Thank you for the ask! I've got a kind of mini-obsession with OC fashion going on right now, so I'm really excited to answer! I'm going to focus on Safi for this one, because she's the one I'm currently playing the most Space Barbie with.
Safi's been with the Jedi almost her entire life--seriously, they took her in when she was 3 days old--so their approach to clothing heavily influenced her style and what she's comfortable with. She grew up in an enclave on Tiisheraan, which (in my headcanon) is very similar to Odessen geography-wise: lots of hills, forests, lakes and rivers, etc. It has a relatively mild climate and experiences seasons, but no real extremes in either direction. Due to their environment, the Masters at the enclave would wear clothes that were easy to move around in--comfortable pants and shirts (thicker and long-sleeved for colder months, lighter and short sleeved when it was warm), with boots or the Star Wars equivalent of tennis shoes for their feet. Weather-appropriate accessories, such as coats or hats, were worn as needed. When indoors, some would don the traditional Jedi robe, but many eschewed it entirely, following the example of Master Elisavhette, who ran the enclave and did not have either the time or patience to put one on.
Based on these early examples, and what she wore as a child when her clothes were chosen for her, Safi pretty much sticks to the pattern of well-made, simple, and practical. She prefers leggings and athletic pants to more structured, less comfortable styles (and has several pairs of what she calls "fancy leggings" for occasions where regular ones wouldn't be appropriate, which are basically just thicker and look more like fitted dress pants, but are still easy to do a flip in if the occasion arises), but she's more versatile in her tops. She has a wide variety of tunics, tank tops, sweaters, and long and short sleeved t-shirts. She sticks mostly to solid colors or simple patterns, and steers clear of anything really elaborate or bold. For shoes she's usually in boots of some kind, although on her ship or in her quarters she pretty much just runs around in fuzzy socks.
Color-wise, she likes blues, greens, greys, and the occasional soft pink or purple. (I headcanon that the Jedi don't do the whole exclusively-brown-and-cream aesthetic because it's boring and I hate it.) Most of these are in muted or dark shades, but she does wear the occasional piece that stands out a bit more.
Speaking of comfort, I would be remiss if I didn't mention her mask. As Safi is only half Miralukan, she does have eyes, but she has very, very poor physical vision, so she relies on her Force vision, which thankfully is fine. As a child, she wore the mask to help her focus on improving her skills with her Force vision and to keep her from attempting to use physical vision in its place, and by the time she was a teenager it was mostly just a habit to wear it, combined with the fact that she did like having a piece of her Miralukan heritage. However, as events in her adulthood happen and she develops a raging case of CPTSD, the mask becomes very much a comfort thing for her. It acts as a sort of barrier between herself and everything and everyone else in the galaxy, and she feels extremely vulnerable without it. She takes it off to sleep, and bathe, and occasionally in front of people she trusts absolutely implicitly, but for the most part she's never without it. This does change as she starts to get Space Therapy and begins to heal, and eventually she gets to the point where she can be with or without it unless something really weird is going on.
Courtesy of Kira, she does have a "please don't immediately figure out we're Jedi" wardrobe. Most of the pieces in that collection were chosen by Kira with minimal input from Safi herself, but even though she rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath the whole time about people raised on backwater worlds who wouldn't know haute couture if it hit them in the face, Kira managed to put together a group of outfits that were acceptable to both her and Safi. Space jeans (and who am I kidding, probably jeggings), nice boots, pretty tops, and a special selection of jackets that are made to be worn over a lightsaber shoulder holster make up the majority of it, and although she was uncomfortable with a lot of it at first, she does eventually come to like some of it. She has a particular fondness for a leather jacket that she ends up wearing a lot (until she steals Theron's).
Of course, a huge portion of Safi's life is spent fighting, and so her armor is also a really big part of what she's comfortable in. In game terms, she's wearing the Satele Shan armor set dyed with the Coldweather dye module, and that's basically what her headcanon armor looks like too. Lightly armored leggings (she really can't get enough) and tunic, metal-plated boots, gloves, and bracers, and, of course, her lightsabers. If she's armored up, mask on, that's basically as confident as she ever feels (at least before the aforementioned Space Therapy).
Okay, I've probably gone way beyond the intended bounds of this question so I'm going to wrap up and, honestly, bless you if made it to the end.

Sometimes I’ll log in to a character I haven’t played in years, and I’ll just sort of cringe at how much money their outfits would be worth nowadays. Valkea alone has like 7 white/white dyes. I miss when those good dyes were only like. a million credits.
