Today we are trying something new for Tatum’s leg. Her left leg hyperextends as she’s walks because the muscles are spastic. She’s done PT and has been in afo’s/braces to help but they just cause her pain and discomfort, so now we are trying Botox injections into the muscles to help relax them and then back into PT to get her gait back to 100% or close to it. They are starting with her calf muscle first and then if little to no improvement, will move up to her thigh. Brain is clear so still #NED 🎉🎉 We met the new clinic neurosurgeon and he wanted new X-rays of Tatums spine to check her scoliosis, and in a year her curve went from 18° to 32°. We had some portfolio/headshots done of Tatum! Finding things to do post cancer that she’s able/capable/wants to do has been hard. Her body is limited not just in mobility but also strength and stamina and its been hard for her to realize the things she did before she can’t now. We sat down a while back and talked about things she could do and she mentioned modeling. She loved when she was a clothing rep during treatment so if that is what she wants to try we are going to help her do that.💜 She’s been picked up by a modeling agency that works with people with disabilities and visual differences! We went to @shevyvisionportraits in Norman and Shevaun did such an fantastic job and was so amazing with Tatum.
