alright alright so i tried to find picture proof of the cat distribution system at work but i guess y'all will just have to take my word for it!

back in 2015? ish? 2016? i found a stray cat outside my apartment and took him in for the night until i could take him to a shelter. he was SO loving and if it wasn't for the fact i couldn't properly afford a cat at the time, i would have taken him in. he was a brown tabby with white socks.

and then in 2022 we found two adorable tabby kittens wandering outside of our apartment and took them in for a few months while we found them a new home. (i didn't have energy for two kittens and they were clearly bonded) one of them was a also a brown tabby boy with white socks!!

and then i went to the shelter today. ever since we lost sasha back in 2021, then another of our cats suddenly passed in december, i've really just wanted a cat of my own again. i originally had another cat in mind based on the website's description, but i wanted to keep an open mind just in case--and i'm glad i did! looking at him from the other side of the glass he just Immediately got up to check me out.

i still looked around at other cats, but i decided i wanted to meet him. even though i presented him with treats, he instantly went to smack his head into my hand for pets. there was just this instant connection and i KNEW i was meant to take him home.

and he's a brown tabby by with white socks!! life tried to get me this cat TWICE in two different forms, but i wasn't ready. he literally just got dropped off at the shelter the day before. (he'd been at the shelter for a few weeks, was adopted by a family, but then they returned him due to someone developing allergies towards him... poor guy)

i thought he would take more time to warm up but no lol, he is GLUED to me. climbing on me for attention, laying on my chest while i laid down, and now he's asleep at my side as i type this.

he's everything i wanted in a cat. like i haven't even had him for 12 hours and i already know he's going to be such a positive influence for me. sometimes things align perfectly and i really. just really am so glad i was brave and went to the shelter today.
