My Chicago Experience

So I wanted to just post about my experience in Chicago this past weekend. My best friends and I went to the Harry concert at the United Center and I've been to a lot of concerts but this one was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. The concert was on Saturday night (6/30/18) and we're from Detroit so we left on Thursday at like 11:30pm. We got there 5 hours later and we didn't really know what to expect. There was a really nice girl, Lexi, giving out tags so we all knew who got there in what order which I was really happy about. I personally love that system very very much. She was a very nice girl and over the next few hours or so I met the other people that were in front of us. It wasn't until the sun had risen that we met the person that arrived after us. We helped her set up her tent and we got to know her and that was pretty much how the whole weekend went. At one point the first few people in line bought a kiddie pool and 20 gallons of water from target and we all lounged around it to cool us off. It was just all of us camping together and helping each other out and it felt so nice to be in an atmosphere like that. We all just wanted each other to have such a good time and stay hydrated and be comfortable. So when Saturday morning rolled around we were all exhausted and sweaty and disgusting because it was nearly 100 degrees all weekend and we were just excited to get our ga wristbands and leave for a shower. Lol. But of course at like 7 am these girls and a mom came rolling in trying to get security to kick us off of the property because it wasn't fair that we were camping out cause they all had jobs and couldn't get there early. Which was dumb af because all of us had jobs and I don't want to get too much into it but security ended up honoring our system and sent the girls to the back of the line where they belonged. Which I was incredibly grateful for. The security there was probably the most amazing team I had ever encountered. They brought us ice cold water on friday and they let us use the venue bathrooms and they were just really really good. If I could've thrown them a thank you party I would have. So we got our wristbands (My friends and I were 12-14) and we packed up our tent and went to our hotel to get ready. (Best shower of my life)

So on to the concert...we got to the venue and handed out mardi gras beads that we made that said 'Treat People with Kindness' on them. I was really happy to see that people liked them and I'll definitely be bringing more to the next concert so keep an eye out for me. Anyway, even though my friends and I were technically 2-4 for the right pit and were there for 38 hours, the lane-one people got there early that morning and got barricade. Which is whatever because we still got good spots like second row in the pit. I just didn't have $700 to blow on lane one. Lol. But the actual performance was even better than I thought it was going to be and that's saying a lot because it's Harry. But I got to touch him when he was coming to and from B stage and that was pretty fucking cool. I freaked out a bit. Haha. And I was right next to the infamous water fight and I was recording so hopefully I'll have that video up soon. I just really wanted you guys to know that I had the time of my life and for anyone that was there camping and met me I want to say thank you. You were all so sweet and it wouldn't have been nearly as amazing without you. Thank you for everything. This was the best possible way I could've ended pride month and I am so thakful.
