Do you think you could tag each front facing Pokémon with Pokémon or front facing Pokémon or some other tag for all of them? I think it's awesome that you tag every Pokémon with their name already but I would like to scroll through a tag on your blog and be stared at by Pokémon
aaahh right. i have been tagging everything that is Not the regular programming with #not pkmn, but have not been tagging everything that Is regular programming with something. if i can figure out how to go through and do a mass tagging thing then i would, but we're on like number 600-something by now and going back and tagging each one individually would be akin to a nightmare, unfortunately. although if i do ever get around to it, you'll start seeing that tag pop up on the newer posts

as for you. hi

Some things about the Plex (my AU):
The daycare was built because staff members, who have kids that weren't old enough to go to school and those who couldn't afford a babysitter, kept complaining to Michael about having to take their kids everywhere they went, leaving them home alone or leaving them in the main/entrance area of the Plex
Each main animatronic was built with some of Michael's traits (Freddy- leadership and protective nature, Roxy- narcissism (from his teens), Monty- anger/emotional issues, Chica- bad eating habits, Sun/Moon- mood swings, occasional over-excitement, strict personality (only in certain situations))
Based off of that, they could also be based off of some staff members (Freddy- Henry or Michael, Roxy- Joan or Sarah, Monty- Mike and Chica- Samantha)
(Yeah most of these are insults)
Michael built almost everything in that damn place (the animatronics, the stages, you name it he was involved)
He did go to Henry to get everything approved though
Since Michael does basically any job, the other staff just calls him management instead of a combination of job titles
Since its built on top of the FFPS location, Henry and Michael have gone down and grabbed old, undamaged stuff to use
Michael programmed so many child protective protocols into the animatronics, they could be considered robot CPS
Henry later added Michael and other staff members to them
The plex has restaurants/food from a multitude of cultures (not just Italian and Mexican)
They also have gluten-free, allergen-free, vegan and vegetarian options that are separated (like a salad bar but for specific dietary needs)
These are of course clearly labeled and people still complain that they can't find them
They let lower income guests eat free/with a good discount (about 50-60%)
These food court restaurants have staff that come from that culture cooking the food (minimizes "Americanization" of the food)
They also have reserved tables for staff members (usually away from customers while still being in the restaurant)
The front of the building (right before you go in) has waivers for guests to sign and an ID scan for staff
(The waivers make sure that guests can't sue because of what happens after parents neglect kids, the waivers state that "if you knowingly leave your kids alone to run around and get themselves hurt, it's on you for neglecting them as the animatronics are incapable of harming guests.")
The animatronics themselves know this (Roxy loves reminding neglectful bastards)
The staff members have actual IDs on top of their name tags (the IDs are only to get into the building and staff only areas, the name tags are for guests to properly ask for help)
The managers (Scott, Aj and Michael) are a part of a team of other managers from other Fazbear's locations (they are called the management board and they basically take care of the company/enforce policies at all of the locations)
They have meetings with Henry as this leader type guy (because CEO/founder) to decide what policies to adopt, if more animatronics need to be built, if more programs need to be put into the already existing ones, uniforms, pay etc (you name it, they decide)
After newbies finish the tour (led by Aj) and get a briefing on what their job is, (what to do and how to do it), Michael is the one in charge of them (since Aj is more 'laxed* and Michael accepts very little mistakes, this leads to Michael getting pissed at people who cut corners or just flat out don't do their jobs)
*He has yelled at Aj and requested Scott be the one giving tours and briefings instead
(How some of them got the job in the first place is beyond a miracle)
They are trying to hire a fully fledged maintenance team but as I stated before, Aj would be the one telling them how to do the job, which leads to disaster and an angry Brit dragging Aj down the hall
Henry has let Michael train the maintenance team and has put Aj on "public relations" (they talk to the guests and answer questions)
(They can't answer questions about the animatronics since Michael built and programed them so they have to ask him to answer these questions)
Many people either didn't trust Michael or were lowkey scared of him because of him being an Afton (they have learned that "hey, this guy is nowhere near being his father's son and he actually cares about the kids.")
I have said that Michael doesn't mind kids asking questions about him, it's because they're genuinely curious and they're not even a little condescending (unlike the parents)
Kids have run up to Michael (during his lunch break) and asked about Sunny, Helpy, the animatronics or just anything really
(Some unlucky kids have run up to ask him for help from their shit parents, I mean, he knows a shit parent when he sees one because he has one so he's the guy to go to when dealing with shit parents)
(This is how he meets a kid named Oscar who later gets adopted by Jeremy and Fritz)
(Jeremy and Fritz are dating in The Phantom Files, Jeremy and Michael used to date, but something happened and they ended up just being friends)
(Yes I got that plot point from Blueycapsules)
Helpy and Sunny travel with Michael using his backpack
Helpy is in the bag, one end of Sunny's leash is attached to the bag and the other one to her harness (she's his service dog)
Sun and Moon are programmed to handle any disabilities, allergies and/or dietary restrictions (religious and medical) as well as handling first aid, CPR, bleeding and more
They know some kids have certain textures that they like or can't stand so they have a variety of different textured blankets and pillows for nap time (most parents will bring some from home, they have to have the kid's name on them to make distribution easier)
The daycare has human staff because 1. Sun/Moon may be busy, 2. Kids could be scared of them, 3. Sun/Moon have moments of "imma just prank people" and people need to be available to either fix Sun/Moon, patch injured people up or clean up the mess or 4. Sun/Moon could be getting upgrades or some bunny fuck hacked them

Amanda's amniotic fluid embolism
Warning: this story features blood and other potentially sensitive subjects. Besides that, I hope everyone likes the story!
******
Amniotic fluid emboli (AFE) are a rare, but often fatal complication associated with childbirth. AFE's occur when amniotic fluid from the mother’s reproductive system enters her bloodstream, causing complications with pulmonary circulation, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and bleeding/hemorrhage. The risk factors for AFE’s are very debatable, but the 2 that we know of are: advanced maternal age (35 or older) and a maternal weight of 220lbs or more. However, our patient Amanda didn’t fit into either of these categories. Amanda was a 28 year old white woman with straight brown hair, chocolate brown eyes, was 5'4, average build, and had a “girl next door” sort of look.
As with most cases of AFE, the onset was totally unexpected; Amanda’s case was no exception. Amanda was carrying twin boys and the pregnancy was uneventful until 2 days before her due date. Amanda complained of severe abdominal pain as well as difficulty breathing. Her fiancée Greg decided to call 911 due to Amanda's symptoms. Greg was a 29 year old white guy who was tall, thin, had blue eyes, longish brown hair, and fair skin. Greg and Amanda were together for 3 years, but decided to hold off on getting married for a little while due to Amanda becoming unexpectedly pregnant with twins.
After Greg's 911 call, EMS arrived approximately 5 minutes later. The paramedics set up 2 large bore IVs, got Amanda on an oxygen mask, removed her clothes, and got her hooked up to a portable heart monitor. On scene, it was noted that Amanda's pulse ox was 94, her BP was 150/100, and her heart rate was 108. Her stats were a bit off, but not to the point of raising a red flag. After these findings, a fetal heart monitor was placed on Amanda’s belly, revealing a fetal heart rate of 154 in one child and a heart rate of 158 in the second child. Although those numbers are within normal limits for fetal heart rates, they’re very close to the upper limits. Shortly following these findings, Amanda was brought out of the house and into an ambulance, while Greg was instructed by paramedics to drive to the hospital.
On the way to the hospital, Amanda’s pulse oxygenation didn’t improve. Her blood pressure started to decrease and she developed a dry cough while continuing to struggle with dyspnea. A few minutes into the trip, Amanda started to bleed vaginally. The bleeding was relatively minor, but it didn’t appear to go away despite paramedics’ efforts.
When Amanda arrived at the emergency department, she was gasping for air, crying, complaining of being cold, and increased vaginal bleeding. Amanda shivered and cried while the trauma team tried to figure out what exactly was wrong with her and her unborn children. Amanda was very scared at the time; she said things like “am I gonna die?” “are my babies ok?!” And “if you can’t save me, save my babies.” The trauma team tried to reassure her, but they still didn’t know what was wrong with her.
The attending physician in the ER ordered a battery of blood tests, along with an echocardiogram and an abdominal ultrasound. The echocardiogram didn’t reveal anything abnormal, but the abdominal ultrasound showed bleeding from an unknown location.
After a few minutes of unsuccessful attempts at replenishing Amanda's blood loss, she started coughing up sputum with a reddish pink color in it. Amanda also started to look rather pale and sickly at that point. Her blood pressure was decreasing and her o2 saturation was continuously going downhill. Because of that, it was decided Amanda would be taken up to the operating room for a c-section and emergency laparotomy to locate the source of the bleeding. Amanda seemed very frightened by the idea of surgery. “surgery?! Is there something else you can do?” she shouted out to us while continuing to gasp for air.
Once in the operating room, Amanda was sedated and intubated. The first order of business was to perform a cesarean section and deliver the 2 boys. Betadine was squirted onto Amanda’s large, protruding belly shortly before a pfannenstiel incision was made. Once her lower abdomen/pelvic cavity were exposed, the uterus was incised. The first child was quickly removed as its cries temporarily relieved the mounting tension in the operating room.
The uterus had to be opened a bit more in order to deliver the 2nd child, and prophylactic antibiotics were also administered to limit the chance of post-operative infection. 2 and a half minutes later, the 2nd child was brought into the world. Thankfully, both children were healthy and in stable condition; the same couldn't be said about Amanda.
After the c-section site was closed with double layer suturing, the exploratory laparotomy began. The surgical site was was sterilized so a midline laparotomy could be performed. A midline laparotomy is a clean cut in the center of Amanda’s abdomen starting below the xiphoid process/diaphragm, curved to the right around the belly button, and continues to the bottom of the pelvis. It’s a large cut that’ll leave a nasty scar, but it’s the most efficient method in regards to overall technique and access to structures in the abdominal and pelvic cavity. Midline laparotomies are also the quickest incision to make, which was important in Amanda’s case.
Amanda’s blood pressure and o2 saturation continued to decrease incrementally throughout the procedure while also continuing to bleed vaginally. Multiple units of blood and FFP were already used, but didn’t appear to correct Amanda’s hemorrhaging. After poking around in Amanda’s abdomen for 25 minutes, the source was still unknown. Eventually, Amanda's hemodynamic instability exacerbated and converted to V-Fib. The surgery was paused to perform resuscitation efforts.
An OR nurse pumped Amanda’s chest as hard as she could while she was switched over to an ambu bag. The defibrillator pads were charged and placed onto her chest while a round of epinephrine was injected into her IV. After several seconds, shock #1 was delivered. Amanda’s feet jumped into the air and slammed back down seconds later, showing off a few thick, prominent wrinkles in her soft, size 6 soles.
The monitors showed v-fib once again so CPR was resumed as the defibrillator pads were recharged. Amanda’s breasts bounced around from the force of each individual compression. Her arms jerked around on the table slightly as the OR nurse continued deep, rapid chest compressions.
After that cycle of CPR and ambu bagging, shock #2 was delivered. Amanda’s body quickly flopped on the table, making a wet squishing sound since she was essentially laying in a pool of her own blood. The monitors displayed coarse V-Fib so another cycle of CPR and ambu bagging was performed before the next shock.
Shock #3 was also unsuccessful. Amanda’s body jolted sharply on the table. The heart monitors displayed pulseless electrical activity (PEA), a deterioration from the previous rhythm. A round of epinephrine was injected as frantic resuscitation efforts continued on the cute, new mother of 2.
Unsuccessful resuscitation efforts went on for another 3 minutes. Another round of epinephrine was pushed, causing Amanda to convert back to V-Fib. The defibrillator pads were charged yet again, forcing everyone to back off of the table in anticipation of the next shock.
Amanda’s back arched before crashing back onto the table a second or two later. The monitors displayed no change whatsoever so the same cycle of CPR and ambu bagging went on as the defib pads were recharged.
Amanda’s lifeless body twitched violently on the table as another unsuccessful shock sent a dose of electricity through her limp body. This shock sent Amanda back into PEA.
Deep, violent chest compressions were resumed. Amanda’s abdomen bounced outward from the compressions while her head bobbed. The situation appeared to be grim, but the OR team continued their valiant efforts on the young mother.
After 4 more minutes of uneventful efforts and epinephrine injections, Amanda converted to V-Fib once again. Just like before, everyone backed off as the next shock was delivered. Amanda’s toes scrunched, showing off large wrinkles in her soft soles. Amanda’s nail polish on her toes was red, almost matching the small amounts of blood on the heels of her feet.
The OR team continued ACLS efforts since the monitors continued displaying V-Fib, or a variation of it. Amanda was shocked unsuccessfully 4 more times, and coded for another 7 minutes. Unfortunately, the surgical team couldn’t shock Amanda out of V-Fib and called time of death at 9:26pm after a 23 minute battle to save her life.
All equipment was removed from Amanda’s body, except for the detached ET tube in an ET tube holder and detached EKG electrodes on her chest. Because of DIC, there was blood in Amanda's ET tube, IV sites, and leaking from each nostril.
The laparotomy was then closed up and the bloody mess of an operating room was cleaned up. Once that was done, Amanda’s body was covered up, only leaving her cute, wrinkly soles exposed. A toe tag was placed on the big toe of her left foot with a vague cause of death listed since nobody knew what happened to Amanda at the time.
After the surgery, Greg was told the news by the doctors. He didn’t exactly know how to feel; on 1 hand, he’s happy both of his kids were alive and well, but on the other hand, he was upset his fiancée died in surgery. Since the cause of death was relatively unknown, Amanda’s family gave the pathologist permission to perform an autopsy.
Amanda’s autopsy revealed that she died from an amniotic fluid embolism. The amniotic fluid ended up in her venous system, went to her heart, and was pumped into her pulmonary arteries, explaining why she had trouble breathing. The body doesn’t know exactly how to fight an AFE, so it attempted to clot the blood in her body, but she quickly ran out of her natural clotting factors, explaining the vaginal bleeding, which turned out to be DIC.
Even though Amanda’s cause of death was discovered, it’s still a tough loss considering she was a young woman who’s leaving a fiancée and 2 children who won’t know their mother.

GET TO KNOW YOUR RP PARTNER! ( repost, please don’t reblog )
BASICS
Tumblr media
▐ NAME ALIAS: Soar ▐ PRONOUNS: She / her ▐ SEXUALITY: Bisexual ▐ TAKEN OR SINGLE: Taken  ▐ FIVE FACTS:
Current M.A. student and working on campus. My time may hiccup but I’ve been multi-tasking like a pro between work and play for years.
My star sign is Pisces!
I can play the piano and was part of a music program for three years.
Shorter than most as I stand around 5′0″.
I’m one whole emotional gal and tend to laugh loudly and obnoxiously. That is when I push myself past the usual things (anxiety, etc).
EXPERIENCE
▐ HOW LONG ( YEARS/MONTHS ): 10+ years; I lost track. ▐ PLATFORMS USED: Skype, Discord, Xat, several FFP-MMOs, ProBoards and JCink,  Tumblr, etc. ▐ BEST EXPERIENCE: Making absolute memes of my characters and my rp partner’s characters (I genuinely believe not being as serious about the charas. helps with the fun). But, my best times are when my partner(s) and I bounce off ideas, spit-balling and then going “AND WHAT IF X,” “AND THEY COULD DO Y.” The build-up is exciting and can help in hilarious scenes.
MUSE PREFERENCES
▐ MALE OR FEMALE: It was usually males when younger. But, I’m taking up more female and GQ muses. I’ve been more cautious about portraying and bringing in male muses due to how weird people can be around them??
▐ FAVORITE FACE: Remilia Scarlet from Touhou, Ciel from Tsukihime, Levi Baskerville from Pandora Hearts, Argentine from D.N. Angel, and a whOLE fucking more.
▐ FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT: On dash presence, it will be ranked: fluff, angst, smut.  But, I’m a high-key idiot who would find a way to achieve two-in-one, especially if the character’s emotional state is self-deprecating or fucking terrible to themselves (like this gal). But, in PMs, it’s a free-for-all of what someone could ask from me.
▐ PLOTS OR MEMES: Can’t decide -- I’ve had some excellent threads develop from memes over the years on Tumblr. However, plotting can help organize what my partner wants to be achieved and can also help compromise.
▐ LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Both? Both! I do understand where you’d want the same amount in exchange. But, you always need to factor in quality. I don’t mind short replies as I take it that the other writer published it if they’re feeling confident in it. Though, I’m sort of unsure about one-liners, ‘specially if it was abrupt.
▐ BEST TIME TO WRITE: When I have a bottle of Brisk Raspberry and I might be procrastinating, ufufu~. Nah, I usually write while blasting music on my headphones, and I usually go for musicals.
▐ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: Now, I do put bits of myself in the characters (usually small quirks like how they may sit, they may talk with their hands, etc). I don’t really like the idea of channeling a lot of myself in the characters; I’ve seen situations when there has become quite ugly (people take RPs as serious offenses to themselves, jealousy, etc). But, in some ways, there are one or two traits I carry in common with them!

There are few cyborgs in the world at least when compared to the total population. However, that number is growing more and more every hour of every day as those who would die are saved and those whose bodies cannot function are given new life. When they were first revealed, the cybernetic augmentations were hailed as the cutting edge new technology that everybody needed. Left and right ‘miracles’ were being performed with these wondrous enhancements. Now we could be on the same level as the best athletes and supermodels. Want to be the strongest guy at the club? You can do that! Want to run like Usain Bolt? You can do that too! Want the vision of a hawk and the hearing of a bat? It’s yours! BioTech, the company who invented the “Upgrades,” were hailed almost as gods as they allowed the lame to walk and the blind to see.
Of course, no good thing ever comes without a fight.
Almost as soon as the Upgrades were announced there were decriers from all sides condemning the proposed technology. Of course the whole thing really caught fire after a popular social media campaign broke out. The tag #allhuman was circulated so many times that it was the number one trending tag for three weeks. Hundreds of protests were organized within a few days. Everyone, celebrities, ‘concerned’ parents, everyone came out to protest. Narratives about the loss of humanity and the way that this would only make government surveillance even easier were fed to public all too willing to demonize the new wave of technology.
The protests eventually got so bad the government was forced to step in. This wasn’t the first time that this happened. Heck, this wasn’t even the first time it happened to BioTech. About twenty years earlier a similar fiasco happened after they unveiled their first line of ‘sentient’ robots. The protests for that really kicked off when one of the bots managed to beat a world-renowned chess player and everyone started becoming doomsday prophets. The Supreme Court hearing for that took over a decade and hundreds of regulations about the jobs that robots could and could not do were rolled out. Robots became relegated to the back end of production. Out of sight out of mind kind of thing. Honestly, BioTech was lucky the court proceedings for this took much less time.
Five years of court, scientific studies, debates, bribes, blackmail, and the invention of two whole new political parties, the Humans Only Party and the Future First Party, were went through before a decision was finally made. I was 10 when the news finally came. Cyborgs were only allowed to be created if there is no other medically viable option available. Upgrades were limited to the sick and dying. The HOPs might not have gotten us erased completely but they came close. To close for my comfort.
My name is Arien. I am a cyborg. After I got into a car accident at age thirteen most of my upper body including my arms had to be replaced and my eyes and hearing had to be fixed due to head trauma. My parents were not happy being a part of the HOP but I was just happy to be alive. After the news dropped most of the surgeries that had to be put on hold were completed and the number of cyborgs jumped by thousands overnight. I am certainly not alone but I am not wanted and I know it. Laws were passed so we could not be discriminated against. Doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen though.
I tend to stay away from the main streets just to avoid the stares, the looks, the assault of advertisements all pushing the HOP and FFP messages for the upcoming election. At least in the back alleys I could avoid all the judgements, even if that meant staying away from social media and all the popular new memes touting the evils of being anything less than 100% machine free. What was even worse than the machine haters were the FF campaign managers though. When the ban went up the FFP and BioTech were not happy, not in the slightest. This manifested itself as counter protests featuring hundreds of cyborgs being brought onstage as puppets to share their life stories and sing the praises of the augmentations in the hopes of getting the restrictions removed. Ever since my own augmentation I got hundreds of invitations to these events and I deleted all of them. I didn’t need a bigger target on my back the one I had was too large already. So back alleys are where I stay.
I was wandering around these back alleys avoiding going home when I saw something different. I was walking past a small shop when out of the corner of my eye I saw the digital window display go blank. This isn’t unusual in the back alleys where the power lines are cut more often than they’re whole and I would’ve paid it no mind if it hadn’t started up again. This time the display showed two small robotic figures. One of them cocked its head while looking out at the alley. It felt like it was staring right at me. Neither had mouths but both seemed to be smiling. Then the other robot pointed towards the entrance of another alleyway then up at a security camera. Looking up at the camera I noticed it watching me no matter where I walked. I turned back to the display but it had gone blank again. The camera was still watching my every move. We stared at each other for a while before the camera turned to look at the alley then back at me. It did this a few more times. I understood what it wanted.
This was a bad idea. A terrible idea. One of the worst ideas I think I could ever have. But curiosity seemed to be a weakness of mine because I started walking down the alley. It was long and winding and split in quite a few places. Whenever I would come to a split either another display or security camera would point me in the right direction. Did I mention this was a bad idea? Because it was. I had no idea who was controlling the cameras or what would be waiting for me at the end of this maze and I sure wasn’t keeping track of where I came from so getting back out was going to be impossible. I was surprised to find I didn’t care much. I wondered if anyone would care for me.
Weaving into the maze of walls I finally came to a dead end. I stared at the wall in front of me in disbelief. Was this a prank? I glanced over my shoulder back towards where I came. How long would it take me to get out? How could I get out? I had been following the trail for a while now. Maybe this was the point. To get me so lost I couldn’t ever find my way back to bother anyone with my presence again. The HOP had been known to do worse things no matter how much they denied it. I turned back to the wall. There had to be something, I thought desperately. This couldn’t be it. Then I noticed the corner where two of the walls didn’t quite meet. Through the small crack, I could see a light. It was dim, barely there, but it was there. I poked around the crack and managed to wedge my fingers into it. Pulling hard I felt it give way just a little. The light became stronger and I could feel a light breeze coming out. Hope surged through my veins, real and artificial.
Using all of my strength I pulled at the wall. Slowly it opened more and more revealing a small hallway behind it. I stepped through cautiously and edged my way down the passage, keeping an eye on the door behind me. About three quarters of the way down the hall I heard gears begin to grind and looked back just in time to see the wall moving back into place. Only this time I heard it meet the other wall and a lock engage. There was no going back.
Continuing down the hall I came to a regular looking door, similar to one you would find in a house with a handle and everything. There was something behind it. I could hear a faint sound from inside. It was unlocked so I pushed it open and stepped inside the new area.
And froze.
I found myself in the largest room I have ever seen. I looked like the pictures of the Globed Theater I studied in school. It was round with sloping seats leading down to a large stage in the center. The entire room was packed and looking around I could see every kind of worker bot large and small crammed into the seats, floor, and even walls. Even more surprising was the number of cyborgs I saw sitting among the robots. While the room was poorly lit so I couldn’t make out any faces I could see the human shapes among the sharp lines of the pure machines.
But even that was not what caught my attention the most. No that went to center stage where a computer took up the whole of the platform. The entire room was silent save for the whirs, clicks, and beeps coming from the computer. The entire room was enraptured by this display and as I listened I could hear the noises I at first thought to be randomly generated nonsense began to form a melody.
It’s singing. It’s singing for us.
I don’t know how long I stayed there just listening, feeling accepted for the first time in a long time, but eventually the great computer stopped. The room was silent for about thirty seconds before it started up again but this time it was different. This time it only sang one low note. Slowly the crowd around me began to sing as well. One by one new notes were added to the song. I could not resist joining in, a more human note to the machine ones.
As the song went on we only grew louder and as it ended we all raised our voices in chorus.

People think travel is too expensive to do often and aren’t committed to making their dreams happen. Most people don’t take action. If you are looking to make your travel dream a reality and want to take action, then go through this blog, as it will detail everything that you need to know on how you can start accumulating miles and make your dream holiday a reality. Start saving TODAY for that holiday you have always been dreaming of. We will also decode the classic myth which states that you can accumulate miles only if you fly. This will be your tutorial on accumulating miles by doing nothing different than what you have been doing and still get free flights, hotels, tours, and more.
When did this all start?
In the year 1979, Texas International Airlines created the first frequent-flyer program that used mileage tracking to give ‘rewards’ to its passengers. The move was derived with the aim to foster a sense of loyalty among their clients and reward them with airline miles that can be redeemed later. Since then, frequent-flyer programs have grown enormously. As of January 2005, a total of 14 trillion frequent-flyer points had been accumulated by people worldwide, which corresponds to a total value of 700 billion US dollars. (I couldn’t get the latest statistical data, therefore the data above seems a little outdated). The programs initially started to keep a customer’s loyalty by giving away miles for the miles you fly. It was roughly the same miles you fly. So if you flew 500 miles, you earned 500 and so on. These miles, apart from being of great interest to collectors, could be used to book tickets/get upgrades. Now things have changed vastly. The miles don’t usually equate to the distances but are more about the money you spent.
To help you understand this better, let me take you through some important FAQ’s to break some myths, you may have had about the FFP.
What is FFP?
Frequent-Flyer Programs are designed by airlines to encourage customers to patronise their airline and in return, they accumulate points/miles (also called miles, kilometres or segments) which may then be redeemed for air travel or other rewards. Points earned under FFPs may be based on the class of fare, distance flown on that airline or its partners, or the amount paid.
Frequent-flyer programs can be seen as a certain type of virtual currency, one with unidirectional flow of money to purchase points, but no exchange back into money. With the introduction of airline alliances and code-share flights, frequent-flyer programs are often extended to allow benefits to be used across partner airlines.
What are the benefits of FFP?
Being an avid traveller myself, being at the airport for me is like you are at your workplace. I see hordes of people travelling across the country and the world, however, it baffles me, as to how few people are aware or even know, what an FFP is all about. To define the benefits of having a FFP is limitless and the ease with which you can own one is as easy as ABC.
Picture this: You arrive at the airport early in the morning all groggy and sleepy, and the only common site you will see, in long queues at check in counter. With a wait time of minimum 30-45 mins, you resign to the inevitable fact. As you look around, you look in envy at the sign board that says PRIORITY and RESERVED FOR PRIVILEGED MEMBERSHIP. While it may seem easy to presume, that access to this line is limited to the fools who coughed up double of what you may have paid to travel in premium class and console yourself with the fact that you paid much lesser, when in reality, that same person, could just be, the person sitting exactly right next you in the cattle class (economy 😂), but availed of a service that was rightly due to him, for the patronage he had shown over the years, which could have been yours, but for your ignorance.
This is only the beginning of the benefits associated with FFP and I have only just started.
Some of the most attractive benefits of the FFP (subject to Tier Status and/or class of booking)
Dedicated Check-in
Priority Baggage Tagging
Additional Baggage Allowance
Lounge Access
Miles Earning Structure
Cancellation and Change Fees
Redeeming Miles for Free Flights
Priority Upgrade
Upgrade Vouchers
Including Family in the program
Priority boarding at the aircraft.
Waiver on Seat Blocking Charges
To illustrate, for reference purpose, Jet Airways FFP starts at the entry-level which is called Jet Blue, followed by Blue Plus, Silver, Gold and the highest being Platinum.
For a detailed list of benefits and understanding on the benefit, you may refer here JetPrivilege Benefits and Privileges

A booming economy made India one of the fastest growing and most competitive aviation markets in the world
You might be lucky enough to have a job that allows you to travel, but if you haven’t been adding your FF number on it, then you’re going to kick yourself if you see the illustrations to follow. Adding a frequent flyer number to your airline booking may just entitle you to a free to a ticket to a domestic destination (at the bare minimum).
Some smart ones, quickly realised that they could start accumulating miles against their business travel to be used for future travels for themselves, friends or even family. Irrespective of whether you travel for business or leisure, so long as the airline you are flying has a FFP, you must sign up to ensure that you accumulate the miles. With many new alliances being signed up, you never know if your existing miles can be redeemed against partner airlines.
Decoding the myth: You don’t always need to fly to earn miles.
Earn miles without even flying: There are a variety of ways to earn miles, like simply booking your ticket on the airline’s website, subscribing to partner cards, spending on the cards, staying at hotels, subscribing to papers and magazines, and hundreds more, literally.
There are other ways to earn points. For example, in recent years, more points have been earned by using co-branded credit and debit cards than by air travel. Another way to earn points is spending money at associated retail outlets, car hire companies, hotels or other associated businesses.

Earn Miles by paying for your monthly utilities
An average Indian household, spends at least 10,000 on utilities. If you make all those payments via your co-branded credit card, you stand to gain miles for every penny spent.
Initiate a simple standing instruction on your credit card to make utility bill payments.
To Illustrate further, I am going to assume that you spend close to 5 lacs per annum on food, clothing, fuel, groceries, entertainment, travel, etc.
The Illustration will show you, that based on your existing spends itself, you have already qualified for 32000 JP miles that equate to 3 Award tickets.

Diversify your choice
It is easy to look at this list of cards and programs and find it entirely overwhelming. After all, each program has its own unique redemption rules and rates, and it can be difficult to know which program is best for your situation. It’s never wise to put all of your eggs into one basket, even when it comes to airline miles. If you want to ensure you’ll have the miles you need to travel when and where you want, it might be wise to start racking up miles with several airlines that operate in your area. You can even choose one that seems like a good fit for domestic travel and another for international flights. The more miles you have, the more likely you will be able to use them.
Get your spouse involved
What’s better than one person earning miles? Two, of course! If you want to boost your miles balance enough to travel often or purchase multiple tickets, it makes sense to get your spouse or significant other involved. Doing so will essentially double any points you manage to earn and make it that much easier to book the award flights you’re after.
JetPrivilege has JetMyFamily+: a novel program enhancement that allows you to pool in JPMiles accumulated by you and your nominated family members and redeem them for Award Flights to destinations of your choice. For more details, click here
Purchase miles.
Travelled and accumulated miles, but falling short of a few miles? Not to worry at all, many or all FFPs give you the option of purchasing additional miles, incase you are falling short. JetPrivilege allows you to top up your account by buying JPMiles at just INR 1.25 per JPMile. This is always cheaper than purchasing an all new ticket as you buy only the amount of miles required to qualify for a reward ticket, rather than buying a ticket in itself. Whats more is that you qualify for Bonus miles, incase you purchase miles over a certain limit. Currently on a purchase of 5000 JPMiles or more in a single transaction between 18th – 30th April 2017, JetPrivelege is offering up to 40% Bonus.
Most FFPs have a “minimum purchase” associated. JetPrivilege mandates a minimum purchase of 500 JPMiles and thereafter in multiples of 100 JPMiles.
How many flights do I have to take, before I qualify for a free flight?
There are various permutations and combinations that go behind the calculation of miles you accrue, as they not only depend on the sector that you are flying but also, on the fare basis that you have booked the ticket on. Lower the fare basis (DEAL CLASS), lower the miles you accrue, higher the fare basis, higher the miles you accrue.
A rough calculation would be (not proved, published, just a travelled observation), you get a free flight for every 7-10 domestic flights you make, if you fly international then pro rata the number of flight will automatically reduce. The miles can also be used for free flights or upgrading your economy ticket to business or first class.
To give you a simple example, to let you understand this better, I have assumed, that you are flying from Mumbai to Delhi in economy class for business/leisure. To understand exactly the amount of miles you will accrue on a given Jet Airways flight, you may refer to the hyperlink here  and refer to the illustration below
Depending on your class of booking you will gather anywhere between 177 to 886 miles. For ease of understanding, I have averaged the miles to 500 miles, per flight taken. Assuming that you take a minimum of 5 (on the same carrier) to and fro business/leisure flights in a year (on a non, low-cost carriers), you stand to accumulate approximately 5000 JP miles.
To understand a number of miles required for a JP Award/Mileage ticket, you may refer here
In continuation with the above, let’s assume you propose to take a family holiday to Goa. After going through the link, or the illustration above, you will soon notice, that with a number of miles (5000) you have accumulated, you stand to qualify for a complimentary one-way ticket to Goa. The above was only an example including only your domestic travel, let’s assume you do a minimum of one or two business/leisure trip abroad, you are almost guaranteed to have qualified for a minimum of one return domestic airfare.
Please Note: The miles mentioned above are required per passenger for the sectors redeemed and are indicative / may vary based on the redemption structure on various Airlines. Origin and Destinations for various Airlines are updated from time to time, please refer to the individual Airline websites for the latest information
Are Award tickets restricted to only Domestic travel or are they valid on International as well?
Redemption of award tickets is valid on both domestic as well as international sectors. With the introduction of airline alliances and code-share flights, frequent-flyer programs are often extended to allow benefits to be used across partner airlines. A Jet Privilege member can choose to redeem his FF points on a partner airline (Etihad) to foreign destinations.
How do I choose between which Frequent Flyer Program to join?
Since enrolling is easy and free, you may be tempted to sign up for multiple programs in order to earn miles for every transaction on every trip. But you will discover eventually that the secret to wringing the most value from mileage programs is to consolidate your participation in as few programs as possible.
The question then becomes: In which program should I consolidate my mileage earnings? The answer depends on where you will be travelling, which airline you’ll be flying, which hotels you’ll patronize, and so on.
The best program for you is the one that awards miles for the trips you make most often, using the airlines and hotels you prefer to use and allowing you to earn free tickets (and possibly elite status and the associated perks) as quickly and conveniently as possible. Knowing enough about your future travel patterns could also lead to an informed decisions. A lot of airlines offer miles not only on flights, but on hotel bookings as well, so depending on which hotels you stay at, could also influence your choice of FFP. If your company has a travel manager, he/she might be able to provide some guidance and recommendations as well.
Which is the best FFP in India for the domestic traveller?
There are 3 frequent flier programmes in India (FFP).  Air India has their Flying Returns programme, Jet Airways has JetPrivilege and Vistara had Club Vistara.
If you are a domestic flier, my vote goes Jet Airways JetPrivilege as the best to choose. Even for international, Jet has a whole lot of code share partners, with whom you can keep earning miles, so it’s great!   For a detailed list, click here
The advantage of Air India Flying Returns is that they are part of Star Alliance, the largest airline alliance in the world. And a good status on  Flying Returns can mean some pretty good perks on other Star Alliance, most importantly lounge access internationally even when flying economy! You can also earn and redeem miles on Star Alliance members. For list of Star Alliance partner Airlines click here
The TATA-SIA Vistara launched on 9 January 2015, as a full-service premium. The carrier offers a frequent flyer programme called Club Vistara. Currently, You may choose to redeem them for Award Flights with Singapore Airlines and Silk Air.
How do I sign up for a FFP?
Now that you have all the guidelines required to zero in on a FFP of your choice, joining/signing up for it is easy. Simply visit the website of the airline whose program you choose to join and look for links to its mileage program, alternatively, they also distribute them on the flights you travel on, so do watch out for the announcements or ask your cabin attendant for the enrolment form. There’s no charge to enrol. And no, you are not required to carry a credit card affiliated with the program. Each FFP is a “free membership” and the benefits associated with them, increase with frequency of your travels, which will reflect on your “tier” status. Universally FFP, give members either an e-card on sign up of an entry-level card with zero privileges. Then as you continue to quote your membership number in each booking, you accrue/accumulate miles, which are reviewed on a time to time basis and upgrade you to a different status, based on your frequency of travel.
Please remember the below guideline while signing up.
Please ensure the name in the profile matches that on the passport (or other Govt. issued ID) that is uploaded. Name mismatch would result in loss / missing points and other avoidable glitches.
Do use only your own Email and Cell Phone number, which is in your possession for normal use.
Immediately after registering, you will be issued a unique membership number, both on the website and in a follow-up e-mail (just be sure to provide your e-mail address and mobile number, during registration). Make note of the number; it’s the key to program participation. To help me remember, keep a list of frequent flyer program membership numbers in my Outlook Contacts section, filed under “Frequent Flyer Programs.”
Some airlines will send you a card in the mail after joining; others won’t send a card until you have activated your account by flying and earning miles, and a few don’t issue cards until you complete a minimum required a number of flights. In any case, the card is superfluous. All that’s required to earn miles is the membership number, which you should provide when making any transaction that awards miles.
So, go ahead, it doesn’t hurt to get a free flight once in a while! Join one or all of them and start earning! Happy flying.
After reading all this, if you still don’t feel the need to sign up for a FFP for yourself then, there is one aspect of the FFP that I haven’t yet mentioned. Most FFPs allow you to Gift, Share or even Transfer your miles to friends and family. Feel free to Gift/Share/Transfer all your unwanted miles to my account for all the effort I took to coax you into getting one 😁😀😀😀
