The Kalenko Grasps For Straws With The Warriors Ships Because She Can

See, after what @thewarriorshomegirl said about Snow and Ajax, I'm in a shitpost mood. So allow me to rate these things (10 being the best thing, 1 being the worst thing). If nothing else, appreciate the camraderie, my dudes.

First, we've got Swan and Cleon: They have pretty respectable relationship, but I don't see it going much further than that. Though if it did, that would be some good shit, brother. Though, my inner Cleon/Lincoln shipper automatically deducts a few points, so I give this a 5/10.

Swan and Ajax: I guess the appeal is that tension between them, you know, the "I'll beat your ass, but I'll also push you into a wall and make out with you." tension. I can see the appeal, so 7/10.

Swan and Fox: They're really good friends, and they have personalities that compliment each other. In the original script, Fox is about to tell that Swan is upset and Swan tells Fox why. It's not as good in the movie, but in the script, it's totally there, so for that alone, I gotta give it the 10/10.

Swan and Rembrandt: This pairing feels wrong on so many levels. 1/10.

Swan and Cowboy: They're clearly good friends, so I could see it happening but this feels like it's only slightly better than Swan and Rembrandt, but I could see it more than Swan and Cleon, so 6/10.

Swan and Vermin: I don't think Swan would want to deal with Vermin's complaining, so I doubt that would go well, 4/10.

Swan and Snow: They have a pretty good relationship, they seem friendly enough, but it's nothing to write home about. 5/10.

Swan and Cochise: listen, they seem like they'd have a fun ass dynamic. I like to think that Swan and Cochise have a pretty good relationship (if only because their actors seemed like they were chill) so I'm gonna have to say 7/10 for this one.

Cleon and Snow: I could Snow trying to gain Cleon's approval be a cause for them to get closer, but side from that, no dice. 4/10.

Cleon and Fox: Seems alright in theory. Cleon and Fox seem like they could work, but I don't think it'd be super overly cute, so meh 6/10.

Cleon and Ajax: They'd clash too much, I feel. They get on decently, but Ajax is so loose cannon I doubt that would work. 3/10.

Cleon and Cowboy: Pretty sure Cleon forgets about Cowboy's existence except in like, one mission. 2/10.

Cleon and Rembrandt: No. That is all. 1/10.

Cleon and Cochise: Meh, nothing interesting there and I'm having a difficult time picturing it. 4/10.

Cleon and Vermin: I mean... Obviously Cleon trusts Vermin enough to be willing to start a gang with him, so it's not like this ship would be pulled out of thin air. 7/10.

Cowboy and Ajax: this one is really hit or miss. It could either be really sweet or really sour. Either way, it seems like it'd be an interesting dynamic to read, so 8/10.

Cowboy and Snow: Something about these two... Just, *Chef's kiss*. They get on pretty well. And they just seem precious. The potential is just there. Plus, what were they doing that we didn't get to see how they got back to the station. ∞/10.

Cowboy and Rembrandt: Iono, Fam, they do be cute though. Two soft boios out here vibin' and in the original script there's a scene, bitch. 9/10.

Cowboy and Fox: Pretty sure these two never interact. Not even in the original script, or it's so insignificant that's it's nothing to work with. 2/10.

Cowboy and Vermin: I mean, he did call Vermin "Baby" in the original script- these two could have a very entertaining relationship. 8/10.

Cowboy and Cochise: *Inhales.* Look, Cochise calling Cowboy "Daddy" in the original script give this at least a seven. But these two have a great dynamic. They're friends, they work well together, etc. 8/10.

Ajax and Snow: They're friends. They have a decent relationship and Ajax probably trusts Snow way more than most of the other members. 7/10.

Ajax and Cochise: I don't see these two being together. They give off wingman vibes. They are really good friends. That being said, they work well together. Ajax clearly trusts Cochise and they've got a fun dynamic. 8/10.

Ajax and Fox: These two can't stand each other. That being said, this pairing could be some top tier shit. They would have that same dynamic as Swan and Ajax, especially because Fox talks so much shi- Oh my GOD. (Sorry, I'm questioning all of my life choices with this one. 7/10.)

Ajax and Rembrandt: Don't seem like they'd vibe at all honestly. 1/10

Ajax and Vermin: They have a fun enough dynamic with Ajax teasing him sometimes. Though, aside from that, I don't see it much. They seem more like wingmen also. But that relationship dynamic doesn't feel as present with these two as it does with Ajax and Cochise. 6/10.

Fox and Rembrandt: in the Script, Fox is described as Rembrandt's best friend. I like how the script treats them, but in the movie, they don't get too much of that. Though, there is that scene where Fox is reassuring Rem that the maps are shitty and the one where he sends Rem to go check the graveyard. But they could be super cute soft boios. 7/10.

Fox and Cochise: They seem more like friendly banter type, though it could be a fun relationship. It's really either way. 5/10.

Fox and Snow: There's nothing here because these two don't interact. ;-; 2/10.

Fox and Vermin: I could see it, but it's nothing too special, so 5/10.

Rembrandt and Cochise: I don't see much of anything here, but I could probably be swayed, so 3/10.

Rembrandt and Vermin: I could see it slightly more than Rem and Cochise, but still not much there. 4/10.

Rembrandt and Snow: These two would be hella wholesome honestly. Enough said. 8/10.

Vermin and Cochise: In this household, we kiss the homies goodnight. 9/10.

Vermin and Snow: Nah, I got nothing. 2/10.

Snow and Cochise: There's a potential ship there, but not much. 6/10.

I wanna hear what y'all think of these pairings honestly. These are all personalised answered, so I am only speaking for me. Let me know what you think. It is 04:46 in the morning lmao.

The Residents

Here are the households that I may check in on from time to time, but won’t be playing in rotation. They are all housed throughout Thicket and many have roles such as stylists or coworkers of my played sims! For the most part, I don’t do a ton to the majority of my sims except get rid of crazy hair or super crazy outfits. I kinda like the variety of sims I get and usually let them match themselves up as well. All of these sims aside from the Fields are pretty much as they spawned. I did some sculpting to Tamsen Field’s face to make her look more unique and I thinned and buffed Dean really because I thought he was a clone of Randal Stark until I downloaded the cc skins and eyes I use and realized they look nothing alike!

The Baron Family: Clayton Baron, his fiancé Monica Ernst and their new baby Tyree along with dog Snaggles, who is obviously hungry for hotdogs!

The Betancourt family: Serena and her fiancé Kirby Cho. I’ll probably check in on them more than some of the others :)

The Cabral family: Dwayne and Betsy with daughter Rebekah and dog Scout. They own the farm with greenhouse that I posted a picture of. My intent is that they will sell produce and flowers from their farm or at one of the local commercial lots.

The Cannon family. Darrel Cannon and his fiancé Tanya Schipano. They are both stylists in Thicket.

The DeLuca’s: Dereck was a werewolf, but I didn’t want to have a ton of supernatural stuff in this play through. Shawn, his wife, is the boss of Lynne Beckwith which is the first family up in rotation. Their daughter Mara and dog, Lady.

The Dowling’s: Nicholas and Corinna. Nicholas is best friends with another townie Dan Waggoner. Corinna was the first of about 5 Corine, Corina ect spawned by the game so most of them had their names changed, but it fit her so I left it!

The Field’s: Dean and Tamsen are both Drs.

The Gold family: Lyle and Randi with son Clyde and dog Sheba.

The Hastings Family: Shad is the local detective and Rena works as a desk clerk at the spa.

The Haywood family: Brendon Haywood is the local architectural designer and just moved in with girlfriend Hilda Winstead.

The Hillards: Armand (Armie for short) is a chef at the Three Sirens restaurant which he owns and his wife Shelley Huey-Hillard is the highest ranking official at the City Hall. They have just had their first child, Brett Huey Hillard.

The Holm family: Brennon, who is the brother to Quinton Holm an NPC and his wife Marcie. They have recently adopted a kitten, Nona.

The Jacques family: Jamie, Audrey and Donny Jacques. Jamie is kind of the town loon.

The Pullen’s: Joel Pullen and Kelly Fuentes-Pullen, newlyweds. Kelly is the sister of Bryce Fuentes an NPC and they are apparently always getting together because they pop up on my sp all the time as family reunion and sharing the town gossip!

The Runyon family: Domingo Runyon and another one of the Corinne’s I kept. Corinne Watt. I had moved these two single sims in together with the intention they would wind up together, but they’ve been shaking up my planned stories the past couple of days!!

The Sheldon family: Boy do Cecil and Beverly have their hands full! She had just given birth to baby Ferra when I finished my world testing and got the rotation set up and surprise! she had a second baby, Ifran two days into the rotation! I really need to get the pregnancy tuner set up so my sims aren’t cranking out kiddos every other day!

The Spaulding family: Joel Spaulding and Shauna Watkins. Best friends and maybe more along with master hunter Egon the cat.

The Waggoner family: Dan Waggoner (best friend of Nick Dowling) and his fiancé Michelle Torrez. Dan is also pretty good friends with Vance McKay and Carlos Munoz who are both in the rotation.

The Wells family: Bryon and Lisa were roommates of Norman Davies before he met Gwen. As you can see, Lisa is fond of cats :) Mackie is the mother with kittens Dink, Elijah and Mittens

The Westmoreland family: Arthur and Bernice (who can be a little demanding) along with their cat Maggie and roommate Tanika Bateman. Tanika is the only EA roommate I haven’t deleted as she is the girlfriend of Alexandria Newcomb and will likely play a much larger role in the play through unless sp has other plans :)

Fun fact. Do you know that Maria's boyfriend try to hit on Beyonce? she fire him after the incidente, obviously Jay-z knew about this and stop working with him. Be stop colaborated with a lot of olders dancers and she now has a mostly black dancers and choreographers after this she discovered the Le twins and made them her principals male dancers too. All this happen in the sasha fears era, he used to apper on mostly Beyonce music video like upgrade u. He is a male gold digger lol

Damn lmao. Well good for him. Get money!!! I just find it ironic and funny she fired him (she has a right to and most people would, very unprofessional) like that when she used go be in his place when she was his age. Everyone forgets aside from Destiny Child Beyonce wasn't much of anything and was an upcoming artist still trying to make a name for herself and come up. What Mariah boyfriend did to her is what she did with Jay (or allowed Jay to do to her) and she benefited from Jay's advances. A young hopeful being pushed to the moon by her father and mother, barely rich, and no major players checking for her like that at the age of 19-21? Yeah lmfao, ironic to me. I always say if Aaliyah found Jay attractive and was into him the way she was into Dame dash Beyonce whole career would be different right now. She could still be Beyonce but it would have taken longer for mega star success or achieved after some hurdles.

A lot of the mainstream fans forget that Beyonce and Sean Paul strangely stopped collabing and speaking to each other after baby boy collab. (That sexy single they did they together that's in the b-day era / around that period) it's actually because of Jay.

Jay got in between Beyonce & Sean Paul working together and cut them off. He told her to never talk to him again and she didn't. Bey and Sean were attracted to each other wanting to hook up, Jay noticed this and shut it down. And I know a fan or whoever will rush in mentioning usher. Usher / Justin Timberlake collabs didn't go to that level and if memory serves me correctly, Bey was steadily rising and at that point towards usher & JT collabs / friendships she was getting taken more seriously. If that makes sense.

I won't look down on Mariah bf for hustling cause it would technically by textbook definition be sexiest to assume he's a scrub for wanting a come up but a girl latching onto a powerful man is more of the norm. Beyonce attracted what she used to be so that's what I can say on that.

And a lot of folks say if she wasn't with Jay she would probably have dated usher or somebody.

Beyonce to me fired the guy cause I mean with all due respect to the bey fans...she is at a stage in her life (depending on when this happened) where she's not into the shennahings anymore cause she has become a household name in her career. It's status thing. She dont need to get entertained by a lousy back up dancer. And I also believe she said no cause she not attracted to him and knows she would be taking care of him. If Beyonce were to mess around it would be with someone who didnt make it so obvious and it would be with someone who has their own already.

And she reported it cause Jay would shut that down anyway and she is genuinely into her marriage just cause.

Mariah bf is silly for that cause if I was a man and hell if I was him, Beyonce would not be the person I would go after even if my career depended on it. She's too calculating and uppity for that. People consider Mariah uppity but she's more of an open book than Beyonce and lets her vulnerabilities be shown. (Which is sadly why she attracts and entertains people like him and Nick cannon. Ariana grande is jo different aka Pete Davidson).

Mariah bf should have been smart enough to know it would never happen. He's a silly kid to me. But anyways I still remember the conspiracy and rumors of Beyonce trying to have a sexual relationship with one of her band performers. I think the woman was a drummer? Guitarist? She worked many shows for Beyonce. Everyone paints her as crazy but I thoroughly believe she was telling the truth.

Funny enough this is unrelated but:

how is the woman a wack job and fucking crazy in the head for saying what Beyonce tried to do to her..........but in another reality.... if we were to pretend Michael Jackson was alive and a male band performer made the same accusations against him - the media would have a field day with it and actually believe it or not even wait to give him benefit of the doubt?

I know that was totally unrelated but that's a situation that doesnt sit right with me. Wrong is wrong and sexual harassment is sexual harassment. Being Beyonce or whoever does not excuse it. Morals should not be equated to favoritism or reputation. But we live in a world where if what this band person said was actually true (or some of it) it's scrubbed and shoved away cause it's Bey. But if it happens to a lesser liked celebrity its used as a weapon before proven guilty.

Smh. Anyways, is Mariah still with the guy? Either way I hope she has fun and is more serious about the next man she dates. I respect her for always walking away from abusive relationships and men that don't serve her purpose (despite people clowning Mariah as a silly or airheaded person).

Ironic to me cause her boy toy wanted Beyonce yet Beyonce wouldnt have the guts to break free from Tony matolla if she was in Mariah place.

All I'm going to say on that. Very interesting...

#PressTrip This weekend marks 3 weeks since we experienced the delights of Timber Festival and 3 weeks until we fully immerse ourselves in our next Wild Rumpus adventure at Just So. But before you start to hate me too much, I’ll crack on and tell you all about how we got on at Timber.

For those of you who read my preview (if you didn’t, catch up here) you’ll know that Timber Festival was our eagerly anticipated start to the Summer and this year’s festival season. We were looking for a chilled out vibe, with lots to keep the kids happy and generally we wanted to spend some quality time together continuing on from our holiday.

So how did it measure up?

Well if you’re expecting a run down of the acts and experiences I’d listed in my preview as our must sees, then you’re going to be slightly disappointed…why? Because when we got there, the site was so beautiful, calm and spread out that we kept getting distracted and stumbling across other things by accident. We were then completely absorbed and forgot all about what we were meant to have been doing.So basically we decided not to be ruled by the programme, and instead discover, explore and enjoy the festival on our own terms. Yes, we did miss a few things that we wanted to see but this way we found we took in things that we wouldn’t have necessarily chosen on paper. Plus, it gives us a few things to add to our Timber 2020 bucket list.

Practicalities for Parents.

Timber Festival takes place in Fearnedock near Ashby in the National Forest and runs over a three day weekend. The festival encourages families to immerse themselves into the heart of the forest while exploring their relationship with trees and nature.

The site is relatively well spaced out and there is a fair bit of walking involved for those with little legs but luckily we had a wagon, well I say lucky but I’m not entirely convinced that Ben considered himself lucky when he was pulling two sleepy children and our gear (we took chairs and a large picnic blanket) back up the hill when we left!

There were plenty of water points throughout the site so take a reusable water bottle with you and stay hydrated, especially if the sun is shining. There was also a cashpoint near to the entrance although some of the vendors took card payments.If you feel slightly nervous of taking a baby to a festival set in a forest then fear not, we were your happy little guinea pigs and took Eli (8 months) with us.

Imagine my glee when I discovered A BABY CHANGING TENT. This was a tepee style arrangement that was laid out with changing mats and also a selection of biodegradable nappies and wipes too should you find yourself running low. So no trekking back to the campsite each time to change a nappy, or trying to balance a baby on your knee while you do the honours! Not necessarily high up on everyone’s priorities when choosing a festival but it certainly made my day a whole lot easier. Mama’s you’re with me on this, right?

Our Foray into the Forest.

After trading in our tickets for wristbands we headed into the site intending to meander down to Field Notes to chill out for a bit and get our bearings before exploring. This however didn’t happen as Stanley spotted a familiar mini gypsy caravan in As The Crow Flies and we had no choice but follow a very excited 5 year old into the woodland clearing.

Ian Douglas Campfire Stories

In a totally non-stalkerish way [honestly] we tend to follow Ian Douglas around a bit, over the last few years we’ve caught up with him at ‘A Day at the Lake’ which was held at Rudyard Lake and annually at Etruria canals Festival. So it was a complete no brainer that we would listen to his stories at Timber as my boys (and me) absolutely love him.

Any campfire would be a pretty sad and lonely place without the incredible Ian Douglas, the storyteller to end all storytellers. Storytelling inspired by British folk tales and world myths.

So we settled in around the fire, and allowed ourselves to get taken into a magical world of adventure. Be warned: audience participation is not only actively encouraged it’s almost compulsory, and adds to the theatre. Stories need sound effects and we became waves crashing up against the rocks.

Hammer & Chisel

Could this have been any more perfect for my boys?

Wild play rules at our unique woodland playground. Under the supervision of our forest play experts, create your own world or add to ours using pallets, ladders and ropes and help us put together a myriad of walkways, dens and secret spaces. Pick up your tool of choice and get ready to build a Timberland.

Well, unsurprisingly they wholeheartedly threw themselves into this. I actually think Ben enjoyed it just as much as the boys did, there’s something about men and tools…they are instantly drawn to them.

After waiting, and waiting and a bit more waiting I gave up and left them to it and happily headed back to the campfire for another story this time to be enjoyed without a child wriggling around on my knee – bliss!

Professor Pumpernickel’s Mind-bending Science Show.

Eventually the boys downed tools and joined me at the campfire just in time for Professor Pumpernickel’s science show. I know what you’re thinking..sounds a bit boring right, this is a festival not a classroom! Well if you’re expecting a tweed wearing professor with half moon glasses you’re going to be in for quite a shock when I introduce you to Professor Pumpernickel.

Professor Pumpernickel travels the country with his laboratory of lunacy. His mission:- to enthuse all ages and abilities about science in hope of seeding some of our future inventors, explorers, life savers and superheroes.

If you like fire, explosions, loads of mess and mind-bending magic, you’ll love Pumpernickel. We certainly did. From his crazy blue hair, to his mad scientist accent there was nothing at all boring about Prof Pumpy.

James was enthralled and took it upon himself to move seats to get closer to the action so he could try to catch the bright orange smoke rings that the Prof shot out of his homemade ‘cannon’. Stanley found the whole show hilarious, giggling his way through.We weren’t out of the woods yet, quite literally! Our next adventure was just around the corner.

TwistingSpace Giant Marble Run

Seeing is believing with this one, the giant marble run was suspended between the trees and was skillfully made from culled rhododendron. It was a beautiful thing to behold, an work of art in itself.

It was also a lot of fun too as the boys raced their marbles down the twisting tracks.

Aside from the main run, there was also a section with pieces that you could build yourself. Coming from a household full of wooden Brio train track, my boys loved creating their own mini marble run and we spent quite a bit of time here.Naturally, we did do a fair bit of hanging around watching the boys play but there was such a relaxed feel and the setting was stunning. It was lovely to just stand and breathe in the forest.

Next stop was the bar (hooray!!) and compared to other events the prices were reasonable and we hardly had to queue as there were bars situated in every general ‘area’ of the site. Once you’ve paid for your (reusable plastic) glass, it’s yours to keep which makes for a nice keepsake of the festival too.Finally, we made our way down the hill into Field notes and set up ‘base’ we sat and enjoyed the sun soaking up the atmosphere. The boys ran around the field and played on the hay bales with some other children. I just love how children make friends so easily.

One of the other boys told Stanley about a giant game of Guess Who, and as he and James came running over to tell us all about it we knew that our time relaxing was about to come to an abrupt halt! So, wagons roll we were off to Halcyon Days!

Beginner’s Luck

This was actually a huge amount of fun, we laughed A LOT!

Dreamt up and brought to life by the Wild Rumpus artistic team, expect to become a human meeple in a giant game of Ludo, crush your opponent in our enormous, ridiculous game of Guess Who and wrestle our gigantic Tiddlywinks into submission!

Watching two Dad’s bellow questions from either end of the Guess Who board…it was huge, they really did have to shout, bless them!..to be greeted with a huge chorus of YES or NO from all the kids who then charged around knocking the characters down was just hilarious and a bit bonkers!

It was fab, and everybody was in such high spirits too, they didn’t even mind too much when James got carried away and started randomly knocking the characters down between turns. It was fun and it was inclusive of all age groups. What a brilliant idea!

We also managed to catch Sweep of Swallows as they passed through. These giant yet graceful swallow puppets toured the site throughout the day.

Next was a much needed comfort break. Now, we all know festival toilets are the stuff of nightmares legend so this wasn’t something I was particularly looking forward to. Timber is a eco friendly festival so the toilets weren’t your standard portaloo’s. Outside each block was a container of straw with a handy sign that read ‘one scoop per poop’. I’m pleased to report that we are no longer compost toilet virgins…and it was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting! Phew!

Back over to Field Notes and we were set to experience my absolute highlight of the Festival…

Otto & The Mutapa Calling

Wow, these certainly made us get our groove on! Even now as I’m typing this 3 weeks later, I’m smiling at the memory.

Otto & The Mutapa Calling were full of energy and we just couldn’t help but dance along. They put on a great show with fab music and showed everyone how to get their bodies moving and shaking along.

James just loved this group and as some of the musicians turned dancers were dancing side to side in front of the stage James tried to copy them. It was so cute, he loves dancing and was very much enjoying himself.

We weren’t the only ones dancing though Otto & The Mutapa Calling in their brightly coloured shirts and headbands seemed to get the whole of Field Notes up onto their feet!

For the next couple of hours we just relaxed in the last of the sunshine, the boys played bubbles with their new friends and we enjoyed an ice-cream from one of the many vendors situated in The Common.

We also had fun rolling down the big hill from the Hollow Way lookout, yes I had a go too but thankfully there’s no photos of that!

Simon Watt’s Frogs & Friends

Frogs might be brilliant but, sadly, they are dying out. In a comedic lecture Simon Watt explores why frogs are better than people!

I found myself alone (Ben and the boys had gone for a stroll) as I gave Eli his bedtime bottle and cuddled him to sleep, sitting listening to Simon’s performance. It was both educational and funny, and I found myself chuckling along with the rest of the audience. It was something completely different and I was glad I got to experience it even if it was slightly unintentionally.

Once the gang came back we headed over to The Canopy via the Eyrie Stage. Esya was performing and we stopped to listen for a while. The stage is in such a beautiful setting that it really is something special. The lighting makes it almost look magical, Stanley described it as an elf house.

Once in The Canopy we settled in and awaited our final performance for the day. We knew it would be popular and got there a little while before it was due to start to grab a good spot.

The Baron in the Trees, Lost in Translation Circus

The Baron in the Trees is a playful, romantic fable set in the 18th century. In this surreal tale the 12 year old son of the Baron climbs a tree in protest at being forced to eat snails, vowing that his feet will never touch the ground again!

To be honest all that was lost on us, ironic given the name of the circus performing the show! HOWEVER, we thoroughly enjoyed the performance regardless. Stanley was completely spell bound watching the amazing acrobatics taking place in the tree tops above him.

We also witnessed high flying stunts, a human tower balancing act and plenty of juggling. There was also a tree top trapeze swing which Stanley said was amazing. After giving the circus a huge round of applause, the sky had started to darken so we decided to call it a day (reluctantly).

On route out of the site we were once again (too easily) distracted by giant bubble blowing in Halcyon Days and stopped to watch a while.

Our Final Say

As a final farewell we climbed up to Hollow Way Lookout for a second time to watch the sun set on what had been a truly memorable day.

Timber is such a treat, a completely chilled out festival suitable for everyone. It’s family friendly but also offers something for those wanting to learn about nature and conservation, enjoy some awesome live music, or simply relax and while away the weekend in a beautiful setting.I personally felt there was a real sense of community among the Timber parents, children made new friends, items of clothing and snacks were shared and at one point we had a little boy climb into our buggy for a nap while Eli was enjoying rolling around on our picnic blanket. I was also asked a couple of times whether I would like a drink fetching because I was trapped under a sleeping baby! Our only regret is that we just attended for one day, but I think you’ll agree we crammed a lot in. We have already put the date in the diary for next year, and we want to do the full weekend next time.

Tickets for Timber Festival 2020 are now on sale at timberfestival.org.uk. The award-winning festival (Best Festival in the UK 2018) returns to the beautiful 70 acre woodland of Fearnedock in the National Forest from 3-5 July 2020. A limited number of Early Bird tickets are now available to buy online, with a 25% discount on all tickets for residents of the National Forest.
