Future of this blog
Hey, I’m going to ramble on for this post so the TL:DR is that I’m separating this blog into two by creating a manda-no-yume blog for MnY specific posts. I may reblog or post them here still and I may decide to re-combine these later. This blog is planned to be for future projects (DDJ) and possibly other topics. Rest of this post is talking about this blog.
Manda no Yume (and as a result, this blog) is on hiatus at the moment due to upcoming finals. I figured this would be a great time to assess this blog and how I want to use it going forward.
Why I made this blog
I made this blog to post about my Dream Diary Jam project last year, so I could keep an eye on other projects and share my progress as well. I posted some concept art prior to June, then posted weekly updates during. After June, I posted some trivia before deciding to continue development. I wanted to post occasionally, alternating between longer posts about solving problems with combination effects and just gifs or pictures showing new features. Otherwise, I’ve posted some drawings for Yume Nikki month and have helped others with their YNFG’s.
Side topic: Deleted Posts
On April 1st I made two posts, one including a video about a fake ‘Dreamer Enterainment Bed’ that could play YNFG’s and another, longer post about MnY features that devolved into fake features by the end. I wasn’t really satisfied with these posts, so I removed them. I’ve removed a couple posts since starting this blog, usually posts that I just felt weren’t what I wanted or I didn’t like having on the blog. I don’t know about others, but deleting posts is probably something I’ll do often. Writing posts helps me get my thoughts together, and sometimes I’m just in the mood to write. I’ve had private blogs before that I made just to post and not be read, and I’ve written posts for this blog and not published them despite them being complete. The point is that I’ll be putting more thought into my posts so I don’t end up deleting them, because I don’t like doing that.
As for the ‘Dreamer Entertainment Bed’ thing, that is a real thing I’ve been working on (and named ‘Yume Nikki Fangame Launcher’). Not something I’m planning to release, but I’m developing it for personal use. If I can figure out a clean way of distributing only the launcher and making it easy to add games to it, then maybe I’ll look into that.

Dream Diary Jam 2018
DDJ ‘18 should be coming up soon, and that brings me back to this blog.
Initially, I was set on not participating in this year’s jam. Because I’ve worked on Manda no Yume after last year’s jam ended, it is ‘disqualified’ or ‘not allowed’ to be entered into this year’s jam. Because I was hoping to work on MnY during the time DDJ is running, I had decided to not get involved.
I went back and looked at an idea document that I had made very early in last year’s planning, and I found a few things I had jotted down while replaying Yume Nikki that I didn’t do for MnY. Some of these things could be put into MnY, but I think it could be better to have a new cleaner test-bed for these features. Also, there are some features in MnY (specifically, effect combinations) that complicate things. I think what I want to do for DDJ 18 is make another Manda no Yume, but pick some different ideas to experiment with this time.
So that gets me to
The point of this post
This blog will be used for my (possible) DDJ ‘18 entry, and MnY posts will be push to the manda-no-yume blog. I don’t like posting about two fangames on one blog (especially since they will likely look similar). If I choose to develop the new fangame further, I’ll probably make a third blog for it if I see a reason to.
This blog will now become an Overwatch complaint blog, so stay tuned for that, there’s plenty of subject matter there.
If you’ve read this long then you’re probably a follower who cares more than I do about what is on this blog. I’m trying to figure out what kind of posts are more useful or interesting to you. If any of you have a specific post that you want more of, or have a suggestion of something I could talk about, or a preference for the longer wordy posts or just the pics/gifs, then I’m willing to hear it. I can’t really go off the amount of likes or anything, as similar posts seem to vary a lot. If you want me to delete the blog then reply with ‘delete it please’. Thanks.

Sorry! Im guessing with this upcoming ep your being bombarded w/ messages so hope im not adding to the clusterfuck that is most likely your inbox, Im one of the anons who was new to watching. And I was wondering if there are any quotes/ videos/ interviews where fitzsimmons love is shown by other actors. i hear a lot of fans talking about how the cast/ writers love the ship but since im new ive yet to see actual proof of that(PS totes dont doubt it exists, im just having a hard time finding it)
Hi Anon,
This is actually the calm before the storm for the old ask box.  Post episodes are really crazy for me, I field 50-100 on average for a regular episode…post huge plot twist….yeah.   Other busy times depend on what kind of spoilers drop via articles or peeks….and what characters they pertain too.Though tonight is oddly busy, Happy New Year everyone?!
This one is a bit tough since its 4+ seasons of panels, Declassified Books, articles, and interviews I’m drawing from.  A lot of times I remember the quote or bit of information but not the source of it.
HERE Is one of the most recent articles where the cast/crew weigh in on Fitzsimmons.
The cast is an absolute joy to watch in interviews and cons.   Most of the love for Fitzsimmons comes from there, interviews with Magazines, and even the cast tweeting about them during or between episodes.
The big place I’m going to direct you too first is to look for the interviews and panels from SDCC (last year was fun, Iain had coffee, Lil walked into a pool looking for churros, and oh my goodness the cast was everywhere it was hard to keep up with them that weekend).  NYCC (this year was a delight HERE is the full panel), and Wondercon.   You Tube is the best place to hunt these down.  Watch the panels, round tables, and red carpets.
Chloe was in full Captain of the SS Fitzsimmons mode at LACC in October and that panel is HERE.  With Gabe joining her during the interview.
Jed and Mo often speak for their fondness for Fitzsimmons, comparing it to their own relationship, in interviews and if anyone can chime in with a specific one that anon can check out that would be great.
The final place to start keeping an eye on is the entertainment websites.  TV Line, and Enterainment Weekly are two of the biggest and with Clark directing this week I’m expecting an article from at least one of them, if not more.   I try to post all relevant articles on my blog as I find them or as people send them to me.
Hope that is enough to get you going, start with the stuff on You Tube there is a ton of content on there to enjoy.   Fandom feel free to add your favorite interviews for our new fans to check out!

Keeping entertained in quarantine
Tumblr media
In the past few years, I have watched little to no TV, and instead have turned to YouTube, with its plentiful options for what to watch. From cooking videos, to makeup tutorials and vlogs, the possibilties are endless.
Here are my top five favorite fashion YouTube creators watch during this quarantine so far.
Kailee Mckenzie
Tumblr media
Kailee Mckenzie is a fashion Youtube creator and influencer based in New York City. Her videos can range in topic from long-term pickups hauls, weekly vlogs, Q-and-A videos, as well as videos documenting her vegan diet.
Her style looks more towards functional workwear and high end vintage, sporting brands like Maison Margiela, Dirk Bikkembergs, and Issey Miyake.
Mckenzie is also a co-owner of Staatsballett, a sustainable clothing brand that is also co-owned by fellow Youtube creator Avery Ginsberg. Personally, I have bought a few pieces from the brand, and they’re easily some of my favorite items of clothing.
What makes Mckenzie one of my favorite creators, aside from her amazing style that is similar to my own tastes and style, is how genuine and kind she is, as well as her relaxing voice.
Sangiev
Tumblr media
Sangiev is a fashion YouTube creator based in the United Kingdom. He is well known for his extensive boot collection, and has several videos showcasing the shoes and tips on how to style them.
Sangiev has a style that veers more into high end fashion, sporting brands like Haider Ackermann, Rick Owens, and Prada.
His videos are highly enteraining, as he has a funny personality and makes a lot of jokes about his own style and different elements of the fashion industry. He also engage with his audience a lot, replying to comments and joking around with his audience.
Personally, I like how easy-going he is, as well as how ecclectic his style is, as well as how he manages to mix so many different styles together and manage to pull them off.
Magnus Ronning
Tumblr media
Magnus Ronning is a Dutch fashion YouTube creator based in London. His earlier videos were more fashion commentary-based, before he began experimenting with showing different kinds of content, such as hauls, scripted ironic videos on different fashion brands, and other different videos.
For awhile, he was known for rating his followers’ outfits from submissions that they would send him through Instagram.
In the past year, Ronning made the announcement that he would no longer be solely focusing on fashion on his channel, and would be uploading vlog-style videos instead, showcasing himself working on his clothing brand called Ronning.
I think what drew me in the beginning were his outfit rating videos and I have just been along for whatever he decided to upload ever sine. Ronning has a funny, charming personality that his audience appreciates. He is very active when it comes to engaging with his audience and replying to comments and making jokes with them.
Ken Iijima
Tumblr media
Ken Iijima is a fashion Youtube creator based in Japan. He is also the owner of the clothing brand called Vuja De Studios.
Iijima’s videos are mostly vlogs with random Q-and-A sessions thrown in, along with the occasional haul segment. His videos mostly show him exploring Tokyo and him showing his viewers the best spots to shop for high end and vintage fashion in the city. A few of his videos also show him working on his brand, from sourcing fabric, to the designing process, to the manufacturing process.
Personally, I like to watch his videos because of his straight-faced kind of sense of humor, and his straightforwardness about fashion and the industry. His perspective on fashion and where the industry is going is very interesting and I respect him a lot as a creative.
