I feel like Likiya is a lot like Sekai in terms of being the leader that is more "behind the scenes". What would you recommend watching to see his interaction with members? (Either interaction eith one specific member *cough*Riku*cough* or more is welcome)

Oh, man, my brain is jumping 90,000 different places 😂 This is mostly going to come from CL Live's on demand programs (I am so sorry to anyone who doesn't have CL Live premium)

I would say Riku (we all know why) and Ryu are the members that will pop up the most in this list.

Bonus note - I genuinely wonder if Riku and Kenta have ADHD and I've noticed Likiya is really good at wrangling them. He seems to take their eccentricities with humor instead of getting frustrated at them, which after hearing a ex-JET teacher friend of mine talking about how his one ADHD student was treated, I greatly appreciate.

CL Live:

MA55IVE organizes surprises to make Takahide happy - Part One, Part Two [translated into English] Likiya's surprise for Takahide is so thoughtful and considerate. Also him forking up his own money to make Takahide happy, best leader 😭

Back to the Roots special - Series [translated into English] I can't think of any specific moments, but it's four episodes of Likiya being on a team with Riku, Makoto, Kenta, Kaisei and Shogo

2023 New Years' special - it's 6 parts and included as part of the Rampe Dorm series [all six parts are translated in English] Likiya spends most of the night cooking, but if I had to pick a specific favorite moment, it's "Kenta gets defiant like this sometimes" from Part 4. When I did the MA55IVE gif set where Kenta plays with Shohei's face, I almost called Kenta "Likiya's favorite problem child"

Competing in a video game for food - Part One, Part Two [translated into English] Likiya, Rui, Riku, Itsuki, and Takahide all struggle to play a video game, Likiya struggles the most, but even when Riku's Little Shit tendencies come out, he takes it well and in good humor.

Basically Everyone in RMPG Fails to Play Volleyball - Part of the Okinawa Project series, this is Part Three [translated into English] Likiya is on a team with Kaisei and Shohei and he's doing his best even with the Absolute Chaos Shohei unintentionally causes.

RAMPE Dorm Tasting Local Delicacies form Different Mbr's regions - Part One, Part Two [translated into English] Likiya features more in Part Two, but I really like how the members respond when he's picked for the food he gets to eat 😂 (bonus: Kazuma's reaction when he realizes what he gets to eat is So Cute)

2022 New Years Party BBQ - Video [finally translated into English, bless you, translation team 😭] This is one of the main Ryu/Likiya moments, where Likiya immediately picks Ryu as his assistant for cooking. During the 50 Questions series, Ryu said he'd want Likiya's cooking skills when asked what skill he'd want from another member, but Ryu can't cook and the translation says "my dad says I don't have what it takes to cook". Likiya picking Ryu as his assistant just feels like it means So Much with that context.

There's technically a whole series for the 2022 New Years Party, but the first several parts are more the members talking to the fans, so not including them here.

RAMP Card - Video [translated into English] Likiya, Zin, Kenta, Rui, Hokuto, Kaisei and Takuma play poker with the card set that was made. Likiya honestly takes losing with such good grace - there are days when I wonder if he loses on purpose in individual competitions, to be honest.

Kitchen Kingdom - Part 1 [untranslated] RMPG Black cooks against Gekidan Exile. It's untranslated, so I'm rolling with Vibes Alone and I've actually never finished watching the full thing, but I made it to the round where Likiya teaches Ryu how to chop green onions and, honestly, this means So Much with the same context as the BBQ party.

Six Game Lovers - Part 1, Part 2 [Part 1 is translated into English, Part 2 is not] Likiya, Ryu, Kazuma, Makoto, Takahide and Kaisei play games together. Likiya and Ryu are a team.

Zin Organizes Large Prank - Part 1 [untranslated] Once again, rolling with "Vibes, Loan Words and Whatever Subtitles Pop Up on Screen That I Get Translated" Alone. Likiya is technically in all of the parts, because once a member gets pranked, they're called in to hang out with Zin and watch the future pranks occur. Likiya's the first one pranked with Rui.

RMPG is Unleashed in an Amusement Park - Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5 [untranslated] RMPG gets to go to an amusement park and have a 2 day, 1 night trip. They're separated into the Routes, so Likiya spends most of the first two parts with Hokuto, Itsuki, Kenta, Ryu and Takahide. In Part 3, YamaSho and Kazuma organize early morning pranks and Likiya is one of the pranksters for Route A, which is greatly amusing to me. (bonus: Riku being the only one to pull off his prank without waking the victim up in advance)

Riku Wants to Make Shogo a Bento and Has Anxiety Over It - Part 1, Part 2 [untranslated] It's untranslated, so you know the drill - Vibes and Vibes Alone. I did translate a few of the in-video subtitles and discovered the Japanese word for 'Anxiety' could be translated literally as "Negative Relax". Likiya, Shohei and Zin help Riku make a bento for Shogo

RMPG Goes to the Zoo and Likiya Suffers - Part 1, Part 2, CL treats the best date competition as a different thing, but I do not, Part 3, Part 4 [untranslated] It's untranslated so I can't verify if Team Likiya got assigned to clean the lion habitat and elephant house as a punishment or not, but, man, does it feel like a punishment (especially compared to the PR team 🤣) Likiya's on a team with Riku, Itsuki, Shohei and YamaSho

Likiya Eats Spicy Ramen to Save His Boys - Technically a part of a series, but this is the only part I've watched Part 3 [untranslated] RMPG is split into 3 teams and they're all trying to eat two bowls of spicy ramen. Likiya Pulls Through for his boys so they are not last place.

EDIT: As I was eating dinner and watching an [untranslated 😭] Rampe Film video, I suddenly remembered another one!

Rampe Film - Shizuoka Ecopa Arena - Video [translated in English] Likiya gets a mission to list 5 things he likes about a member. He picks Takuma (because baby boy is Right There 😂) and it's honestly super endearing

@soundberr1es mentioned RampInGood in the replies and, if you can find it, it's so much fun. Likiya, Rui, Kenta and YamaSho are regulars and they have a bonus member every episode - I've only watched the Riku one (if you have not noticed, I have a problem 😂), but it was a lot of fun.

Boris is actually what i’d consider a ‘first’ for me? i’ve dabbled a bit in AU’s and such but usually just stick to my own content. but boy oh boy, Smile for me is Jam content let me tell you

oh i just remembered, i actually did this once with Undertale too! i made my own AU called ‘ThisTale’ and made a comic with it so...yeah some times hyperfixations last for a while for me haha. given the fact im already making a written story, drawing so much art, and kinda on my way to make another comic? it may be safe to assume i’ll be drawing Boris for a hot minute for a while

I just got into Exile tribe as a whole. I love it here, btw lol. But I have a question: What do you mean by "the musha shugyo did cause a collective mental breakdown"

I noticed The Rampage debuted but then was put on a hiatus. Is that the main reason? Or was a reason given?

Hello! Welcome, glad you're here and enjoying it 😊

Due their intensive training, the musha shugyo, before the final line up was decided, they all thought members would be cut. It wasn't clear how large the intended lineup was and how many candidates would be kept.

The vocalists especially thought only two would be in the final line up, because Exile Tribe had never had more than two vocalists to a group before - Exile, Exile the Second, JSB3 and GENE were the only other groups at the time and they were all the twin vocal set up. [random aside - While Exile flirts with being a three/four vocal group occasionally, that's a very recent development.]

So the members were living together in the dorms and competing with each other (so they believed) for a final spot in the line up. Considering they were teenagers, for the most part, at the time, that's a lot of stress for a bunch of kids to be under.

Likiya was 23. Zin turned 20 not long before the intensive training started. And those are the oldest two! There were four birthdays during the musha shugyo - Makoto turned 16, Riku turned 20, Rui turned 19, and Ryu turned 16. Takahide and Takuma did not turn 16 until after the line up was finalized. They were both 15 the whole time

Because they were under so much stress, in such a "You're living with and fighting with these boys for your future" way, as essentially teenagers, they - didn't know if they wanted to continue being in the Rampage even after the lineup was finalized. That was part of the hiatus, from finalized lineup to debut, was they sent everyone back home, the members picked up jobs at EXPG schools and other places, and had to decide if they wanted to keep going, if they wanted to stay the Rampage. All three vocalists apparently told their parents they wanted to quit.

Thankfully, they decided to stick together, but that - wasn't a guarantee, as far as I can tell.

Since Riku is my boy, I've spent a lot of time poking around and he brings up being thankful that he didn't quit in a few places, and I found a voice clip that was subtitled in Japanese, which I transcribed and threw into a machine translator:

Q: Was there ever a time when you thought Riku-san wasn't cut out to be a vocalist? Riku: Of course I did. There were times when I thought it would be better if I quit, and there are many times when I think, "RAMPAGE doesn't need me,'' or "The other fifteen members can do it without me.'' But I can't lie about my feelings like, ``I love music, I love singing.'' I just love RAMPAGE.

I am wondering if that intensely stressful time is why it feels like they spent so much of their early career stressing that they're sixteen. The Rampage is 16, you can't take away one and still have the Rampage. Now I feel there's less of an emphasis on being 16 and they seem to be branching out individually more.

But, yeah. They had a group mental breakdown because they thought they were competing with each other for space in the final group.

Is me again, I've been going on a deep dive. Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. Is there like a "Get to know The Rampage " video or post? I'm coming from the high and low series and atm Kazuma

No worries about the questions! When I got into Exile/RMPG back at the start of 2023, I had No One to talk to for several months and so I'm always excited to find other people who are interested 😊 Ask all of the questions you want, you are perfectly okay!

I am the abnormality who found Exile Tribe first, then High&Low, most everyone else I know found High&Low first, then Exile Tribe 😂

For getting to know the Rampage -

@simpforchuchu did a guide that covers the group as a whole and the oldest four members (Likiya, Zin, Riku and Kenta) in a bit more depth. Link.

I use the Exile Tribe wiki page for RMPG a lot - link. One note is not everything has a citation in the Trivia sections - the part about Riku formerly being the center before the position was given to Kazuma in particular doesn't have a citation attached to it. It's referenced a lot of places and from watching videos from pre-finalized lineup to nowadays, Riku was in the center back then, but now Kazuma is, so it seems to be correct, but - no citation 🤷‍♀️

I found this video on YouTube from 2021. I have, admittedly, not watched it all the way through because it's text set to music and I really struggle to watch videos like that 😅

Honestly, I think I should just - sit my ass down and do a guide myself, I just don't know what's expected to be in the guide and what people want/need 😅

So my memory is Horrible, like, genuinely, I do not remember most of my childhood. 😂 However, I'd say the oldest memory I have that - is the least likely to have been formed from other people's recollections is this one distinct memory of packing my stuffed animals when we were moving from PA to CO and we had these red - cartons - that we still use for pantry foods and I put my stuffed cat into the carton.

Swear to god, when I was older, that memory is the one that sent me looking for my Sammy-kitty and now I sleep with Sir Sam the Second every night (Sir Sammy-kitty the First was retired from service after nearly two decades, my sister bought me a replacement from eBay who is now Sir Sam the Second). I was 4.5 when we moved, so that memory is over 20 years old if it is accurate. 😂

To be instantaneously fluent in Japanese. 😅

Favorite vegetable?

God, this was significantly harder than expected. 😂 Tomato and cucumber are the main vegetables that I'll just happily eat by themselves.

Jr.Exile - with the exception of GENE, hilariously enough - could maybe be called the EXILE GENERATIONS generation. EXILE GENERATIONS (hereby referred to as EX-GEN because less characters) was a trainee group where one had to pass a professionalism review to become a backup dancer for other Exile Tribe groups.

I cannot find a GENE member in the list of former EX-GEN members on the wiki, but:

RMPG has 6 former EX-GEN members - Shohei, Itsuki, Shogo, Makoto, Kenta and Riku FANTA is basically entirely former EX-GEN members - Taiki, SawaNatsu, Hori Natsuki, Leiya, Keito and Shota BBZ has four former EX-GEN members - Ryuta, Masa, Rikiya/Ricky (I never know how to refer to him 😩) and Miku PsyFe also has four former EX-GEN members - Tsurugi, Jimmy, Kokoro and Ryoga

So much rambling beneath the cut re: GENE and Jr.Exile

I do feel like this makes the gap between GENE and the other groups - more obvious? It feels like there's a gap there, at least for me, where I often accidentally sort GENE into what I call Founding Exile, with Exile, JSB3 and Exile the Second. (The fact that GENE debuted two weeks after Exile the Second, but nearly ten years before PsyFe probably doesn't help that)

If RMPG hadn't had a 2.5 year debut delay, it would feel less extreme, I think, since RMPG and GENE are around the same age. GENE's average age is 30, whereas RMPG's average age is 27, and GENE's youngest member was born in 1996, the year RMPG is missing. Hilariously, Likiya is actually older than Mandy by two months, which means the oldest member of RMPG is older than the oldest member of GENE.

But I think a part of it is definitely the debut gaps - RMPG probably would've debuted in 2015 if the musha shugyo hadn't basically caused a collective mental breakdown, since GENE had a 7 month gap between formation and debut, Exile the Second had a 5 month gap between formation and debut, and JSB3 had a Less Than One Month gap between formation and debut (they really threw JSB3 straight into the deep end there 😂)

But since the musha shugyo did cause a collective mental breakdown, they didn't debut until January 2017, putting an approx. 4 year gap between them and GENE. Then FANTA debuted in December 2018 (~6 years after GENE), BBZ in May 2019 (~6.5) and PSYFE in July 2022 (nearly 10 years later), so GENE has a 4+ year lead in experience and name recognition over everyone else in Jr.Exile.

There's also the fact that, like, FANTA and PSYFE mbrs were backup dancers for GENE - I own the Speedsters tour recording and, like, two or three songs in, I realized I was playing an Easter Egg hunt of "Find the future Jr.Exile member" with the support dancers.
