Days of Thranto Past Appreciation Post Day 12

Rather than writing new this Thrantovember, I am featuring the works of others that I love. Most of these are probably well known already, but it's always someone's first time seeing a fic! Rules were: 1. Story must be completed, and 2. Thranto must be the primary focus of the story. I'm featuring 3 a day (because I couldn't cut the list down) at random - I'd love to hear your thoughts on the selections (and please give the authors some love, too!)

No one had explained it to him, of course—no one had explained anything. He'd just been handed a data chit and told to access the ship's libraries from his console. Had spent two weeks reading about customary greetings, and the colours of the Families, and meal protocol in the presence of fleet officers, and then, suddenly, in amongst the gestural tone modifiers and the correct order and placement of collar-flashes: The practice of pair-braiding is not a tradition of particular antiquity, but within the past few centuries it has developed a determinative role in establishing and signifying romantic relationships, especially in contexts where other markers of status may not be worn.

This short fic is poetry - beautifully written and full of emotion. It was also one of the first ones I ever read that really had the Chiss as being Other - so very nonhuman, with their own habits and ways of expression, and I find that fascinating.

Eli was content and feeling thankful. Thankful that the ship had come out undamaged and that nobody was killed. Thankful to be able to curl up in a warm bed with someone he loved. Thrawn sighed and settled more firmly back against Eli.

Eli buried his face in Thrawn's neck, inhaling the sweet smell of him fresh from the shower. It sent the tiniest of thrills through his exhausted body. Eli was in no mood for anything too active but maybe he'd have the energy to make Thrawn feel good.

Short and smutty, but in a lazy, affectionate way. Sweetly smutty, if you will; calm and slow verses frantic and passionate, but no less loving.

What could he say, really? What did he want to say?

Is it true – what you did on Lothal, what you did in the name of the Empire, an empire that was never even truly yours to command, of the stories of suffering that made its way across the system and all the way to the Ascendancy? Where did you disappear to? Where have you been? Why haven’t I heard from you?

Where were you when your people needed you? When I needed you…

Yet Eli couldn’t say all that. The more questions he’d managed to collect over the cycles the more he found them unable to be verbalised, instead balled up like an ever-growing cancer that attached itself to the walls of his throat, blocking not just sound but air from passing through. As much as he could it hurt, all of it – wanting answers, reasons, explanations.

As the tags say - no answers. We don't know how things got to the point they are in this story, nor where it is going - just a moment, a brief connection, things between Thrawn and Eli forever different, yet some things still the same. A little more abstract than most of the other fic, but all the more interesting for it.

AN: This is the work of the awesome @kimageddon I am so happy how this came out that I had to write a fic about it. Think of it like a sleeping headcanon.

Maul and Thrawn have weird sleeping habits.

Maul barely sleeps. His mind is too filled with buzzing thoughts and plagues by nightmares. He works himself to the point that when he finally falls asleep, it is dreamless and black. He moves around in his sleep at time, he kicks and snarls at invisible enemies.

Thrawn sleeps like a corpse. He never moves from his position, the only way to see if he's even breathing if looking at the rise and fall of his chest. He also only sleep when he needs to, when he worked himself too hard from plans and paperwork.

That changed with Onora.

Onora doesn't really like an empty bed. In her apartment in Daiyu, her massiffs usually sleep with her. So she usually wakes up with at least one of her pets snuggling up to her. Being on the chimera was worst, cause shes alone in that small bed in her quarters, filled with nothing but her buzzing thoughts. So she tries to work to tire herself out, just so she wont think.

When the trio are together, Onora is always in the middle, while Maul and Thrawn cuddle with her. Electronics were not allowed and Maul wore pants cause his metallic legs are cold to her bare skin.

They hold onto her, like she was the center of their universe.

Onora noticed that both Maul and Thrawn kiss her differently.

Thrawn kisses her slow, like he analyzing every crevasse of her mouth and lips. He runs his tongue over her lower lip and a slight bite to it. he then leaves a smaller kiss afterwards, as though he was branding her. When they alone, he lifts her up to give her a kiss, wanting to feel her weight as he gives her a scorching kiss.

You took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. You then look at your lover; your very naked and your very tall lover.

“Now are you absolutely sure about this, Savage?”

He smiled at you, chuckling as he reached for your hand, rubbing its palm.

You and Savage have been lovers for awhile and it has been wonderful. He was so attentive to you and loving, his large hands always made you ache so lovingly and feel indescribably loved. You stated you want him to feel what he made you feel.

He watched you with heated eyes, following your tongues path. He groaned when you reached his cock, and gave it some kitten licks, your eyes still on him. You then reached to its head and suckled on it; slowly going down. You moan as you take in every ridge, then suddenly pulling away. You heard Savage whine and then gasp when you suck on his testicles, massaging his cock with your hands. You feel his hips twitch as he tried not to move, although you hear him growling.

You pull away again as he looks with disbelief. You give him a small smile as you sit on his lap.

“You are utterly magnificent, Savage.” you whisper, suddenly feeling shy. You feel so exposed like this, baring your heart out while completely naked on top of your lover.

“Every time I see you, i want nothing more then to just strip you of your armor and taste every inch of your body.” you said in a husky tone. “ I want to push on the floor and ride you in front of your brother and his followers. I want them all to see. I want them all to know you are mine.”

You then slowly let Savage enter, hissing at his size as you felt his ridges against your walls.

Savage was silent during your exchange, his hearts swelling at your declaration. But his brow furrowed when he hears you hiss in pain.

“Little one, do not strain yourself.” he said, making your eye narrow and you suddenly you sink in fully, making him growl. You then started to move, not even bothering with a slow rhythm.

“You are mine!” you gasped, “I want them all to know that you are mine!”

There was suddenly a loud snarl and the sound of fabric ripping; Savage suddenly sat up and grabbed your shoulders. You were startled and stared at his yellow eyes, which were brimming with a deep lust. He smiled softly, kissing your cheek and laying back.

“Are you not claiming me, little one?” he said, making you smirk and started to ride him harder.

The room filled with both of your groans and moans. You threw your head back, savouring every inch of him as you continue to moan praises of him. You can feel his large hands grabs your hips in a bruising grip, which then move to your breasts, pinching your nipples. The extra stimulation made you moan louder, you eyes shut tight as you take in every sensation.

You were walking down the streets of Mos Espa when you felt a chill down you neck. You look look behind you, but didn'tne see anyone. You still felt that same uneasiness as you look around, then you cursed under your breath.

Kriff.

Someone found you.

OK, sure you might have robbed some nobles on Coruscant and some Crime lords here on Mos Espa, but you thought you at least had some time to get away. You quicken your pace, trying to out walk your pursuer. But you still heard footsteps behind you. You quickly ran into an alley, trying to find a window or some balcony that could climb on to. You then heard spurs behind you and you whirl around.

You see a duro with a big hat pointing a blaster at you.

“Ah hell.”

There was a blue flash and then your vision went black.

you wake up slowly, groaning. You sit up slowly and noticed you hands in binders. You started to struggle with your binders when a deep voice piped up.

“I wouldn't do that if I were you, girly.”

You looked up at the source of the voice and your breath hitched.

Standing there with his arms crossed was that duro you saw int he alleyway. He stared at you with red eyes and you gulp.

“Y-Youre Cad Bane.” you said breathlessly. Hell, there is no one in the galaxy that doesn't know who Cad Bane is. You looked over his form and gulped again.

“Man, he is hotter that I thought.”

You were pulled out of your thoughts when Bane roughly pulled you up. He started to drag you towards the front of his ship.

“You gave me a hell of a hard time looking for your, girl.” he growled out “You kept slipping in and out of security so damn fast, it was like chasing a womp rat.”

You grinned at the insult, glad that your prowess as a thief was making waves. He then plopped you in a seat and went back to the controls.

“Soooo, where exactly are you taking me?

“Nevarro. Its a drop-off there, then off to prison for you.”

“OOO, which one?”

Bane side-eyed you, probably wondering why you were so giddy about jail.

“The central detention center.”

You wrinkled your nose at that

“Seriously? They could at least put me somewhere a little more challenging.” You huffed. You then stood up and dropped the binders you just got out of on Banes lap.

“I think you need these.” you said, as you walked out of the cockpit, wanting to stretch your legs.

Star Wars Clone Wars: Which Parts of the Tartakovsky Series Can Still Be Canon?

Party like it’s 2003! On April 2, Disney+ will begin streaming the Genndy Tartakovsky version of Clone Wars, which means, for certain generations of Star Wars fans, a slightly alternate version of the iconic storyline will be available to watch on the app for the first time. Along with Clone Wars, Disney+ is also dropping two of the made-for-TV Ewok movies, and the animated ‘80s TV series Ewoks. And while all of that Ewok action certainly makes us nostalgic, let’s get serious: the Tartakovsky Clone Wars is the real deal.

Besides being the first animated series set during the Clone Wars, the 2003 microseries is best known for introducing fan-favorite characters such as Asajj Ventress, General Grievous, and Durge. Most importantly, in the first few years following the end of the Prequel Trilogy, Tartakovsky’s series was the definitive story of what happened during the Clone Wars.

That’s until the arrival of The Clone Wars (differentiated by a “The” in the title). This second animated series ran from 2008 to 2020 and featured huge moments of its own: it introduced Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi padawan Ahsoka Tano, brought Darth Maul back from the dead, and fleshed out the history of the Mandalorians.

The 2003 microseries and 2008 series were both considered canon early on, but when Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012 and retconned the Star Wars timeline, the studio erased the classic Legends continuity and established The Clone Wars as the true, canon version of events. That means the stories in Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars never happened in the current Disney canon.

But that may be about to change. Along with Clone Wars‘ arrival on Disney+, Disney has also announced the return of shape-shifting bounty hunter Durge to Star Wars canon. His appearance in the upcoming Marvel Comics crossover event War of the Bounty Hunters could pave the way for the return of other parts of Tartakovsky’s classic Clone Wars series. Here’s how all of this can work:

Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars Mostly Still Fits into the Star Wars Timeline

Up until very recently, you could have reconciled the first Clone Wars with The Clone Wars fairly easily. In a hypothetical headcanon, you could have decided that seasons 1 and 2 of Clone Wars happened before the 2008 The Clone Wars movie and the introduction of Ahsoka.

After Anakin gets Ahsoka as his new apprentice/partner, you’d then watch The Clone Wars seasons 1 through 6. Ahsoka leaves the Jedi Order in season 5, which would explain in your headcanon why she’s not in Tartakovsky’s series at all. After the events of season 6 of The Clone Wars, you could then insert Clone Wars season 3 into the timeline, since those 2005 episodes end directly before the events of Revenge of the Sith. (In Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars, we even saw Palpatine get kidnapped by General Grievous on Coruscant.)

So, to recap, before the belated season 7 of The Clone Wars in 2020, you could have just assumed the Clone Wars timeline looked something like this:

Clone Wars (Tartakovsky) Seasons 1-2

The Clone Wars Movie and Main Series Seasons 1-6

Clone Wars (Tartakovsky) Season 3

Revenge of the Sith

There’s just one problem: the events of Clone Wars “Chapter 25,” which were meant to lead right into Revenge, are directly contradicted by The Clone Wars season 7 episode “Old Friends, Not Forgotten.” In the Tartakovsky version, Obi-Wan and Anakin get the call to defend Coruscant after a dangerous mission on the planet Nelvaan, but in The Clone Wars, Anakin is with Ahsoka, planning to go to Mandalore, when he and Obi-Wan are diverted to save Palpatine. That means, if you’re particularly stringent about events lining up perfectly in your headcanon, at least some of Clone Wars couldn’t really exist in the same timeline as The Clone Wars.

Obviously, there are many other little inconsistencies between Clone Wars and The Clone Wars, but this one very specific plot point from the final season of The Clone Wars is the smoking blaster that kills any hope of the Tartakovksy series as a whole being canon. But that doesn’t mean all is lost…

Durge Is Back, So Does His Clone Wars Story Count?

Durge’s upcoming canon debut in June’s Doctor Aphra #11 opens the door for at least some of the events of Clone Wars to return to Star Wars canon.

In Clone Wars “Chapters 2-4,” Obi-Wan (partially clad in clone trooper armor for the first time) battles Separatists on the banking planet of Muunilinst. Obi-Wan’s biggest antagonist in this battle is Durge, a centuries-old bounty hunter, encased in a suit of armor, who has rowdy regenerative powers that make him kind of like the Star Wars version of Wolverine combined with Apocalypse.

Long story short, he’s very hard to kill and this leads to one of the best duels in Tartakovsky’s series. Best of all, since the fight takes places in season 1 of Clone Wars, it could still easily fit back into the canon timeline. Creators wouldn’t even really need to create a new backstory for the character. Since he’s centuries-old, even his Legends history with the ancient Mandalorians and Sith still works within Disney’s framework. You could really just sprinkle all of those details back into the timeline without much puzzle-solving.

What else could the Lucasfilm Story Group easily reincorporate into canon? Again, the entire microseries can’t be reincorporated because of that pesky Clone Wars Season 7 scene but what about that epic moment when Anakin is knighted and his braid is snipped off by Yoda’s lightsaber? That can be canon again, right? What about Asajj Ventress’s duel with Anakin in “Chapter 19?” That should totally count!

Okay, real talk. Durge returning to canon Marvel Comics, and Disney+ streaming Clone Wars, doesn’t suddenly mean more of the microseries is being retconned back into the timeline. Durge is back, sure, but it doesn’t mean Disney will bring any of his Legends storylines with him.

Just look at the way Rebels retconned Grand Admiral Thrawn. In that animated series, Thrawn is 100 percent the same character we remember from the ‘90s Timothy Zahn novels, but he’s in a totally different part of the timeline. The events of Rebels take place up to five years before the Original Trilogy, while the now non-canon, original Thrawn novels took place five years after the OT. That means Disney still has the breathing room to decide whether a new version of the events of the classic Zahn novels ever happened in the current timeline.

The same goes for Durge in the Marvel comics. War of the Bounty Hunters, which is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, is nowhere close to the time period of Clone Wars. Same character, totally different decade. Disney could just decide this is a new version of Durge with no connection to the Clone Wars at all.

Then again, because The Mandalorian name-checked Thrawn in season 2, it’s possible that a revised version of “The Thrawn Trilogy” could still happen in the post-Return of the Jedi (and pre-Force Awakens) timeline in which the Disney+ live-action series is set. This doesn’t mean this is going to happen, but like the headcanon Clone Wars/The Clone Wars timeline, you could easily make it all fit in your mind.

Durge is canon again. That much is certain. The first Clone Wars is streaming on Disney+. That’s happening, too. But will Durge admit to having been at the Battle of Muunilinst in Doctor Aphra #11? Even if he doesn’t, for many of us, it still happened. After all, some canon, especially where Durge is concerned, depends greatly on a certain point of view.

How long will they last? - Till Kanan dies (I’m sorry, but he and Ezra have to die in order to Yoda and Obi Wan to be last jedi, badum tss). And even after that, Hera would still love him.

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - I still have ‘A New Dawn’ on my ‘To Read List’, but I pre-imagine Kanan falling inmediately after hearing her on a freedom-speech. Hera would take one hour more, or so...

How was their first kiss? - You remember in Pirates of the Caribean III when Elizabeth and Wil finally get married and they kiss, epicly, in the middle of the storm, slicing enemies, with a musical crescendo? That’s how.

Wedding:

Who proposed? - Tough one... I don’t know. They just happen to be married prior to SWR begining XD

Who is the best man/men? - Chopper, probably, I don’t know if they already had Zeb in the team by then...

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - Uh... Chopper?

Who did the most planning? - Kanan. He’s the kind of guy that would stress over the tiniest detail by that time.

Who stressed the most? - Kanan.

How fancy was the ceremony? - Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big.

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - The Empire :P and Cham because Hera’s daddy issues

Sex:

Who is on top? - I picture them switching a lot. Or even spooning while sex so none would top... Neither is more dominant than the other, they’re pretty balanced in that sense

Who is the one to instigate things? - Mainly Hera. But Kanan also submits ideas...

How healthy is their sex life? -Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now

How kinky are they? - Straight missionary with the lights off | 2 | 3 | 4 | Might try some butt stuff and toys | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Don’t go into the sex dungeon without a horse’s head

How many children will they have naturally? - It would be cruel (even for me) to let Hera alone with a little baby, so I don’t picture her getting pregnant... Besides, they’re in the middle of a war, and both already lived one while they were children, so I picture them not wanting any son or daughter until the Empire would be down.

How many children will they adopt? - Ezra and Sabine

Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - Change diapers by ‘solving the kids’ messes and you have the entire training of Ezra.

Who is the stricter parent? - Kanan on the surface, but Hera in the deepest. Kanan just shows it more easily, but Hera is the one whose “You’ve disapointed me” hurt the most.

Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Kanan. He will always be the one to stress.

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Both. But again, Kanan stresses easier about anything

Who is the more loved parent? - You just don’t pick a favourite parent!

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? Both.

Who cried the most at graduation? - Kanan. He would even record it and send it even to Thrawn to show how proud he is of his babies growing up so quickly.

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Both.

Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? - Kanan. I headcanon that younglings did a lot of housework in the Temple as both grounding and meditation, so he cooks quite good actually. Hera can cook also, but she’s usually wasted after piloting, repairing, commanding... so she keeps her cooking for special occasions

Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Given their ‘war children’ stories, I think they both know what it is like to have problems to get a meal, so none of them is very picky. I you can eat it, eat it, because you don’t know if you are going to have another chance.

Who does the grocery shopping? - They usually send Zeb and Ezra.

How often do they bake desserts? - Not regularly. The Empire is a war-focused dictatorship, and historically, under said regimes, cooking supplies like sugar, baking powder and other luxuries are scarce. It would be extra difficult for them since they’re wanted outlaws.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - They eat anything they can get.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Hera.Since she doesn’t cook a lot, she tries to do it when she wants to celebrate something (even if it is just getting away of a chase by sheer dumb luck)

Who is more likely to suggest going out? - They can’t afford to go out... Drawbacks of being a rebel in the Empire...

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidently while cooking? - None. That’s something that happens when Zeb, Sabine or Ezra cook (because of that they are forbidden to even try). Both Kanan and Hera are skilled enough in the kitchen to not burn anything.

Chores:

Who cleans the room? - Again, Zeb or the kids. Chopper is told to help but he messe more than he cleans

Who is really against chores? - Chopper.

Who cleans up after the pets? - Zeb and Ezra. The pet is Chopper. Chaos ensured.

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? - Chopper

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Kanan ALWAYS stresses the most

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - No one. They’re creditless.

Misc:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Hera. She has more to clean, because of the lekkus and all the motor oil she ends up getting while doing the reparations.

Who takes the dog out for a walk? - Chopper doesn’t need to be taken out, but if he did, they would send probably Zeb.

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? - I don’t know the holidays they might have in the Galaxy... Previous to the Empire, I mean...

What are their goals for the relationship? - To end up both alive (oh, darlings...) and finish the Empire.

Who is most likely to sleep till noon? -Hera. Kanan knows the pressure she’s under as a Rebellion Captain, so he tries to let her rest and relax as much as they can allow themselves to.

Who plays the most pranks? - Honestly... I don’t see any of them playing actual ‘pranks’... But Hera seems most likely to tease Kanan, on a low degree, though...
