Things I Would Love To See Happen In A DCMK Fic - Ep 16

Kuroba Kaito, tired, sleepy 21-year-old university student, was just slowly walking out of his train station yawning eyes closed, trying - unsuccessfully - to tame his bed-head, when he got roughly shoved out of a burly man’s way with a yelp, the dude clearly running too fast to be acceptable in such a crowded area.

“Thief ! Please stop the thief !”

Obviously, the female voice he registered wasn’t referring to him, yet Kaito couldn’t help but glance at the station’s entrance, only to notice another quickly approaching figure. Shorter than the fleeing giant, but still taller than average, a male, slim, blond. With a very, very familiar handsome face.

“Kuroba-kun ?” He slowed as he neared Kaito. 

“Huh,” Kaito responded, intelligently. “You… Hakuba, what- ”

“I’ll be back soon, please keep it for me ?” Hakuba hurriedly asked, dumping his heavy-looking messenger bag into Kaito’s unsuspecting arms. Oof.

And he took off. 

He - !!

It was how Hakuba Saguru, a year and a half after his sudden disappearance to England, rudely intruded back into Kaito’s life just to make him guard his stuff while he kept merrily chasing another- a vulgar thief.

What the fuck !

“What the fuck !” Kaito repeated under his breath, for good measure. 

Fiddling with the classy bag’s shoulder strap, Kaito mused that he should really just leave Hakuba’s thing right there, instead of risking being late for class. Studies are important, any good student - like Kaito totally was - should regularly attend their courses, something the newly returned British weirdo still didn’t get, apparently.

Kaito put the load on the floor. 

He waited a minute. 

He heard people bursting into applause. 

He sighed, and found a bottle cap to kick. 

He should really be going. 

Really.

Half an hour later, he landed a perfect kick to Hakuba’s shin, earning him a confused splutter.

KID reminds his audience that no, he doesn't have only one worthy rival, and people should start realise that Inspector Nakamori and Hakuba aren't any less remarkable than the Kid Killer as opponents, thank you very much.

Things I would like to see happen in a DCMK fic - Ep 3

Future!Hakuba and future!Kaito, in an established relationship, time travel to the past and meet our bickering high schoolers, current Hakuba and Kaito.

Present! Not-yet-Hakukai would like to know who these two very familiar individuals are, because they have suspicions but it's impossible, isn't it?

( Kaito, seeing Akako smirk : Isn't it?? )

Also where are they acting like a married couple-

Bonus : Future!Hakuba introduces himself to Present!Kaito by offering a rose he makes appear in his hand.

That's something he's asked Future!Kaito to teach him, so he can also woo Kaito with the same magic trick his partner used to make his love confession.

Depending on whether it happens before of after present!Hakukai come to the correct conclusion, I guess their reactions could vary, I like to imagine a flustered present!Kaito.

Kid's fandom is really active.

His fans provide running commentaries on every heist, plus lots of edits and memes in the following days.

Many blogs are making theories about what Kid's motives or his (or her??) identity could be, while also gushing over him and cataloguing his feats.

Kid is super popular after all. The Phantom Thief is a beloved celebrity, a mysterious and genial entity, he is unrestrained by the law and yet he has his own set of morals and rules.

Fans love his riddles, his gentleman behaviour, his showmanship, the way he talks, the elegance in his every move. He is a spark of excitement in many people's monotonous lives, and to children's eyes, the white winged person freely soaring in the sky is akin to an angel.

Even some magicians claim Kid as their idol, though they assure that they have no interest in becoming thieves.
