It all happened so fast.
One moment, you were crying over Conrad, and how he had mistreated you. The next, Susannah was dead.
You felt like your heart had been torn out and stomped on. Conrad didn’t make it any better, neither did Belly.
You hadn’t had the chance to talk to Conrad after what happened, as it came out that Susannah was sick.
Then everyone went home. Jeremiah was hurting in the same ways as you were, so you comforted each other. He drove out to see you and vice versa.
You were beginning to feel a spark with the younger Fisher, you were finally happy.
Until you heard the news.
The phone call came from Jeremiah in the middle of the night.
“Y/n…” He said once you answered with a tired ‘Hello?’. You know from his tone of voice what has happened.
You swore you’ve never sprung up out of your bed so fast. You started packing an overnight bag. You were going to Boston.
“I’m on my way, Jere, stay on the phone with me” You said and Jeremiah sobbed on the other end, not being able to tell you no when he needed the shoulder to cry on.
After a rough 3 hour drive, you were at the Fisher household. Jeremiah had fallen asleep on the phone with you, but luckily you knew where the sore key was.
Popping the door open, you knew their father wasn’t home, neither was Conrad. He was at Brown. Jeremiah was all alone, and your heart hurt at the thought.
His door was cracked once you approached. “Jere?” You whispered and he took a breath in, stretching his arms before he opened his eyes, confused.
“I’m here” You said as you approached his bed. Jeremiah reached for you.
“She’s gone” He whispered, his lips quivering as he tried not to cry. The sight broke your heart.
“Oh Jeremiah” You said before getting into bed with him, hugging him close. You ran your fingers through his hair as he cried, his tears staining your shirt.
“I’m so sorry Jere” You whispered as you began to cry as well, the reality of her death hitting you like bricks.
Tumblr media
The next morning, you woke up in Jeremiah’s bed alone. Your heart sank.
“Jeremiah?” You called out, stumbling out of bed and down the stairs, only to find him at the stove in the kitchen.
“Woah, slow down” Jeremiah said, placing his spatula down before he approached you to help you become steady.
“Wanted to make breakfast, to take my mind off of…” He trailed off and you nodded, knowing what he meant.
“Thank you, want me to do the rest?” You asked and he shook his head.
You ended up hopping up onto the counter, watching him make breakfast.
“Thank you for coming last night, you didn’t have to” He said, scooping pancakes onto a plate before he put everything into the sink, shutting the burners off.
He approached you, standing between your legs. He gave you a half smile. At that, you brought your hands up to run your fingers through his hair.
“I’ll always be here for you, Jeremiah” You said “I’m one call away, always.”
Tumblr media
The funeral was an utter disaster for you. You arrived and sat behind Jere, your hand on his shoulder for most of the service.
When Belly and Conrad fought afterwards, you excused yourself. Their relationship seemed messy, and you didn’t want to be caught in the crossfire.
You couldn’t even look at Conrad to tell him you were sorry for his loss.
Jere found you outside, the cold air causing you to clutch your figure.
“Y/n, here” He said and placed his suit jacket over you. You silently thanked him and he wrapped an arm around you.
“How are you?” He asked and you shook your head, i’m disbelief. He hadn’t hesitated to think of you before himself.
“Jeremiah” You said and he looked up, scared he had said something wrong. You didn’t speak, you pulled him in for a hug.
“How are you?” You asked and he pulled back enough to look at you.
“I’m better” He said and you could tell he was being truthful.
Tumblr media
The next call came in the middle of the night as well.
Jere was frantic. He had been pissed at his broker for so long for what he did to you, and what he did to Belly, but he still cared. That’s who he was.
“I can’t find Conrad, I-I’m going to Brown tomorrow, will you please come with me?” He asked, his tone sounding desperate.
“Of course, I’ll be there in the morning and we can drive together” You said.
“Will you come tonight?”
And so you did. You hadn’t quite realized it yet, but you were in love with Jeremiah.
He cared about you like no one ever had. Not even Conrad. You hadn’t thought about his brother for a very long time, and that was all because of Jeremiah. He showed you love. The kind of love you desired.
The drive to Jere’s was quiet, and when you got there, he was waiting to open the door. You immediately hugged him, taking in his scent.
“Hi” You said and gave him a sympathetic smile.
“Hi” He said and smiled back.
“Let’s watch a movie, that’ll take your mind off things” You said and he nodded his head, letting you lead the way to his room.
Tumblr media
How had you gotten here?
The movie you decided to play was far out of your mind as you and Jeremiah stared at each other. You were snuggled up in his bed, like you had been many times before, but something about this time was different.
His eyes drifted towards your lips and you couldn’t help but feel butterflies in your stomach.
“Jere, should we be doing this?” You whispered and he nodded his head.
“Yes” He muttered before his left hand cupped your face near your neck, leaning in to close the distance. His lips encased yours as they moved in sync, your fingers tugging at his hair as he became more desperate.
He grunted softly as you two kissed, tongues dancing together. Your cheeks were flushed beyond any time they had been before. You had wanted this for a long time.
Jeremiah pulled back for a split second before kissing you again, his hand gripping your waist to pull you into his lap.
You didn’t intend to go any further, and neither did Jeremiah, he had tried to go slow with you, but the way you had showed up for him and been there for him had his head on a swivel.
When you two finally pulled away, Jeremiah ran his right thumb over your bottom lip, a smile appearing on his face. A genuine one. You hadn’t seen that in months.
No more words were exchanged, you two just bathed in each others presence for the rest of the night.
Tumblr media
The next morning, Jeremiah was stressed. You decided it would be best not to discuss what happened the night before. You didn’t want him to have more to worry about.
“You ready?” You asked him. He looked up and gave you a small smile before nodding and grabbing the keys.
The drive to Brown was frustrating to say the least. Jeremiah tried to call anyone he could that would know where Conrad was.
“Fuck!” He yelled when not a single person knew anything. You reached over and grabbed his fallen phone in silence, not wanting to irritate him further.
Arriving at Brown, Jeremiah practically jumped out of the car, leaving you behind to go to his brothers dorm. “Jere! Wait!” You called.
That’s when you saw her.
Belly.
“Wha-?” You questioned before stopping dead in your tracks. Did Jeremiah know she was coming?
You followed the two to his dorm room in silence, Belly seeming frantic. You didn’t like it. Not one bit.
She was so calm. She was part of the reason that your heart was broken the way it was. She hadn’t even apologized.
You shook your thoughts away as you snooped around Conrad’s dorm room. You found the necklace he had given Belly and your heart cracked a bit. He hadn’t ever gotten you anything like that.
It still hurt. You’d probably be scarred for life from the level of hurt you felt when you had lost him.
“We’re going to Cousins, Y/n” Jeremiah said, snapping you out of your daze “Come on” He added and grabbed your hand, leading you out of the room.
To Cousins you go.

going, going, gone pt. 2 - c.f
Tumblr media
summary: y/n leaves to do what susannah always wanted for her boys.
conrad fisher x conklin!reader
a/n: gif is not mine, but i was so so happy to see how much everyone loved part one!! i’ve never had to tag people, but i will try and do that at the end of the story <3 this is also not following the books, that i haven’t read because i’m the worst reader 😭
y/n stood on the opposite side of susannah’s bed, visiting her in boston after she was waiting to see her girls. her connection to laurels daughters was always something susannah felt from the moment they were born. she always wanted girls of her own, but she was still blessed with her two sons.
belly was sitting on the bed, a bright blue dress as susannah looked into her eyes. laurel had gone out to run errands for her friend, so the girls had stayed with susannah.
it was clear that her condition was declining, and rapidly. her face didn’t have the usual sunshine look, and she appeared weaker than y/n and belly were ever used to. her skinny hands trailed to theirs and wrapped together. her touch went from a warm comfort to as light as a feather. somehow, through the cloudy day, the sun poked through and her angelic smile blessed the girls.
“i’ve been missing you so much,” susannah grinned, placing a hand on belly’s thigh and grabbing y/n’s hand with the other. “i’m so glad you came to see me. i needed to see you girls.”
the look on belly’s face was almost coated with uncomfortableness, her naïve self not used to seeing people in this condition. y/n didn’t want susannah to see her fall apart in her grasp, so she made herself blend with tranquility.
the time had passed where they wanted to attempt to save susannah. now, they knew it was only a matter of time until they lost her. they may not have physically lost susannah, but they lost the spark in her a long time ago.
“the boys love you, you know,” she tells belly, and then turning her head to y/n. “both of you.”
“i know,” y/n replies, seeing belly trying to find the right words.
“promise me something?” she asks, looking at belly who’s head perks up. “look after them for me.”
“you’re going to do that yourself,” belly remarks barely over a whisper, moments away from letting the dam break. y/n’s cried enough tears for susannah, but somehow they don’t seem to stop. watching her whole family experience this grief makes her feel less alone, but seeing her baby sister fall apart is near unbearable.
she watched as belly crumpled on the bed into susannah’s arms, and her once warm grasp felt lighter than ever.
ever since her death, y/n wants to look at belly the same. her actions make it so hard. she promised susannah to take care of her boys, and she failed. she let jeremiah sit around knowing he wasn’t the one she truly wanted. afterwards, she made conrad watch in heartbreak her new self with jeremiah.
that scares y/n, knowing that she’ll never truly be able to pick between them. in the long run, no matter who she “picks”, she’s hurting more people than she thinks.
she figures the best thing she can do is be there for conrad, as belly and jeremiah don’t think it’s necessary.
as she drove further and further away, the music she normally sings to turned into static. conrad would probably still be in cousins, not wanting to face his family back in boston. the traffic had quieted down, for people would be home with their families.
she pulled up the the house that had gotten it’s life back before julia took it all away. conrad and y/n were the main ones trying to save the house from being invaded by another family. even if they couldn’t, the cousins house would always have the fisher’s name on it. when y/n walked up to the front door, she slowly turned the doorknob and stepped in.
her footsteps lightly echoed due to the emptiness of the house, some of the front rooms still looking lifeless. y/n walked around, picturing everything exactly how susannah had it, all the portraits and loving decor she had around. she knew, though, that’s how conrad will set everything up.
the sun was just starting to dip down below the horizon, and when she spotted conrad sitting with his feet dipped in the pool, he looked lower than the sun ever could get.
she quietly stepped out onto the back, not saying a word until he noticed her. his head slowly tilted around, feeling her sweet eyes burning through him. he felt more relieved. she’s the only person he wants to see. she’s the one person who hasn’t ripped his heart out and used it.
“what are you doing back?” he questions, keeping his collected expression.
“i didn’t think you really wanted to be alone. you can’t fool me, conrad,” she smirks softly, moving over to sit next to him on the edge of the pool. she dips her feet into the cool water, not yet graced by the hot summer air.
“i don’t need you to be here for me, i don’t think i’m too good of company right now.”
“i think that’s exactly why you need me,” y/n says as conrad looks back to her. he’s always noticed y/n’s beauty on the outside, but he never got to really appreciate the inside. her mind was just as beautiful as her hair when the wind blows it, or the dimples on her cheeks when she’s happy. “you don’t have to do this alone, you know.”
“yeah,” he sighs, swaying his feet in the pool. “i thought jere would at least help me.”
“i talked to belly,” y/n tells him, seeing him quickly freeze and lean his head back.
“it’s not a big deal, y/n, really,” conrad says.
“it is to me. i never thought of her like this, but i don’t understand how she could do that to you.”
“it’s a me problem, clearly jeremiah’s better than i am.”
“that’s not true. belly’s young and thinks she’s innocent. she doesn’t deserve someone like you. she’ll never take the time to know you, but she’s going to jeremiah because he’s ‘easier’.” y/n replies. “you’re perfectly fine the way you are, and you never have to change for her, or me.”
“my mom always saw me with belly. i think that’s the worst part.”
“but your mom didn’t see what belly’s done to you. susannah would never want you to change in order to be with her.” y/n says, clearly to him. “susannah asked belly to be there, and she failed.”
“what do you mean?”
“when belly and i went to visit, she asked us to take care of you and jeremiah. belly barely looked after you, and i don’t even know if she’s helping jeremiah.”
“i get it, though. i left her at prom, and broke her heart.”
“was it shitty of you? yes, i’m not gonna lie to you. at this point, she’s taking it too far by playing with you and now it’s jeremiah’s turn.”
“maybe my mom was wrong,” he looks away, connecting his eyes back with the minute waves in the water. “i miss her. she was like a breath of fresh air, and i feel like i haven’t gotten that since she died.”
“she’s still here,” y/n tells him, seeing the corner of his mouth turn up a bit.
“i still feel her sometimes. if i’m home and i hear a noise, i’ll think she’s cooking, or painting. i don’t need people to see me fall apart.”
“you never have to hide, conrad. not anymore, and not from me.”
the next time he locks eyes with y/n, he can majorly see the sincerity in her face. there’s still a hint of when they were young in their eyes, memories swimming back into conrad’s head. every time she talked to him, all the time she spent with him. every party she skipped because conrad didn’t feel up to it, and she didn’t want him to be alone. he never felt nervous around y/n the way he did with her sister. they always had a complex relationship, but never once did y/n fail to be next to him. conrad let his inch closer to y/n’s, letting her hand lay on top of his, leaving solace in him. he never noticed how soft her hands were, literally and figuratively. she never once used him and glued his pieces back together. it’s then that he realizes that’s something belly never did.
impulsively, he moves his body more toward y/n, trying to get all the gladdening she can give. she’s more than happy to give it to him, letting conrad hold onto her and have her help him. the world around the boy became lighter, almost forgetting about his former despondency caused by belly. the closer he got to y/n, the more he thought that his mother had mistaken belly for the one.
he brushes a stand of y/n’s hair behind her ear, placing his hand on the side of her neck. she breathes lightly, knowing what conrad wants from her, but not knowing if he needs it.
“conrad,” she whispers, his name coming across incredibly from her lips. “you know i love you.”
“of course,” he says back, his hand trailing down her arm.
“but i won’t be a redemption because you cannot have belly. i’ve been the second choice once and i destroyed myself. i won’t do it again.”
“belly’s not who i want. i don’t think i’ve ever loved belly the way i have for you.” it all felt so sudden, the tension growing thicker between them as conrad only wanted to deepen the connection. y/n was just so horrified of hurting him more. she knows that she could help him and love him how he should, but she needs to know that he’s not just trying to get belly back.
“i think we need time, conrad. please?” she asks, and he nods, slipping his hand back down and grabbing her hand. “but trust me when i say that’s it’s not over with us.”
the meaning behind her words is stronger. in reality, she just wants to dive into conrad and accept anything he has to give, but he needs to strengthen his own heart first. he needs to know what he wants. if y/n needs time, he will wait for her.

Summary: Being Belly & Steven’s older sibling has it’s pros and cons. Protecting them and taking care of them is a must, but do you really have to put their feelings first instead of your own?
Next | Conrad Fisher x fem!reader | My blog
Warning: comparing, angst, conrad being a two timer (?), fluff, physical touch. (lmk if i missed anything!)
───────────────────────────
I never thought that I would have this talk with Conrad. I didn’t except for any of these to happen, we were all just trying to have fun, but I realized that we’re all grown ups now, we’re not the same kids as we were back then and that’s what i hated.
“Connie? is that you?” I asked, feeling Conrad’s presence.
Conrad entered the kitchen with a gentle smile, walking towards the fridge to get a drink. “Hey, what’s up?” he turned to me — tilting his head a little bit, still smiling.
“Oh I just wanted to talk” I told him, not looking at him in the eyes.
“Oh okay, what are we gonna talk about?” Conrad walked towards me and sat beside me — pulling his seat closer to mine.
I turned to my side so I can talk to him clearly, “It’s about us, about you and Belly” I looked at him, his gentle smile now faltering, his brows started to furrow. The room now filled with silence and the only thing I can hear was my own heart beating fast.
“What about me and Belly?” Conrad looked into my eyes trying to search for something — trying to see what I really meant.
“You… you know you need to make up your mind soon, right Conrad?” I looked down at my fingers and started to play with my rings, I didn’t want to look at him, I couldn’t look at him.
“Make up my mind about what? you are confusing me Y/N” Conrad pulled me closer to him.
Conrad knew what I was talking about, he just didn’t want to talk about it or acknowledge it because he never wanted this to happen, he never wanted to like both of his bestfriends.
“I know that you are starting to like Belly” I backed away from him — not wanting to hurt myself more.
“What are you talking about? I am close with Belly but..” Conrad was trying to find words, he knew he can’t deny it because it was true, he can’t lie to to me, he know’s he can’t.
I looked at him and took his hand as a sign of reassurance “You don’t have to lie to me you know?” it’ll just hurt me more if he did, he knows it would.
Conrad looked into my eyes — his brows still furrowed — he swallowed hard and said “I do.. I do like Belly, but I like you too”.
I closed my eyes “You have to choose Conrad, please” I stood up and started to walk towards the window.
Conrad started walking towards me, trying to reach for my hand, “I don’t want to choose, please don’t make me choose. I can’t lose either of you, Y/N”
“You know you won’t lose me, Conrad. Belly’s my sister, I don’t want to hurt her, so please choose.” part of me hoping that he would choose me, but I know that he knew what I was implying. He knew that i’d want him to choose Belly instead.
It was always him and Belly, not me and him. at least that’s what mom said, she always liked Belly and Conrad together, but Susannah thought otherwise. Susannah knew what we had ever since we were little, she always liked me and Conrad together.
“I will think about it, okay?” Conrad said.
I nodded and walked away before I felt my tears fall down my face.
───────────────────────────
It was the night after me and Conrad talked. I was laying down when Jeremiah knocked on my door and asked me if he can come in.
“Hey Y/N, can I come in?”
“Come in, Jere” I sat up to give him space to sit on.
“Hey pretty girl. You seem down, are you okay?” Jeremiah sat down in front of me and asked me with a gentle smile.
I smiled at him “I guess? i dont really know. there’s just a lot of things going on and it’s just exhausting for me” I plopped down and laid on my back.
“Well do you want to talk about it? yk i’ll listen” Jeremiah pushed me to the side gently so that he can lay down beside me.
Jeremiah and I have this special bond that Laurel and Susannah loves. We are each other’s rock, each other’s bestfriend. We are there for each other when no one else is.
I sighed, “I gues it’s just hard for me. there’s just a lot of things happening, Susannah getting sick, me having to choose what I want for college and now this Conrad thing”
“Oh what about Conrad huh?” he said teasingly — nudging me with his elbow.
“It’s not like that, Jere” I wish it was. I sure did wish it was like that.
“Well then what about it?” his gentle smile now faltering, he turned to his side facing me.
“Me and Conrad talked, I told him to choose between me and Belly” now it was was me turning to my side to face him.
“What? why? why would you do that?” Jeremiah sat up confused and raising his voice a little, causing me to sit up too.
I took a deep breath, “Conrad’s starting to like Belly”.
“What do you mean? he likes you Y/N, it’s so obvious that he does” he said frowning.
That’s true, i know that’s true “Well who can’t not fall inlove with Belly, she’s amazing Jere.” and that’s true as well
“Well, what are you going to do now?” Jeremiah’s voice laced with worry, he knew I was hurting, god he knows all of the emotions I am feeling right now.
“She’s my sister, Jere. I’d be way happier if Conrad chose her.”
“She’s very important to me, I am supposed to protect her not hurt her”
“But you are hurting too Y/N” Jeremiah said concerned.
“I know but i’ll get over it, as long as she is happy, as long as my siblings are happy, i’ll get over it. Even if it takes me to let go of that someone for my sister.” and that someone is Conrad.
───────────────────────────
Me and Jeremiah talked all night long, not knowing that Conrad was outside the door listening to us the whole time.

jeremiah fisher x gn!reader
genre: angst (lol)
synopsis: loving jeremiah fisher was hard. especially when he’s in love with someone else.
wc: 1.05k
part of the 1k celebration!
loving jeremiah fisher was always hard. you had only eyes for him, and you knew he only had eyes for belly. you tried desperately to distance yourself from those feelings, knowing you were putting more weight on your interactions with him.
every glance, every moment spent with him you ended up analyzing, trying to figure out if he felt even a fraction of what you felt. more often than not, you had to convince yourself that you were correct.
it felt like a bucket of ice had landed on top of your head when conrad and you came from his fina. seeing belly and jeremiah kiss knowing both you and conrad could come out at any moment made you stomach drop. it was the harsh wake up call that you needed.
conrad had interrupted them, and it all blurred in the background, your thoughts getting louder and overpowering. conrad took you away from them, taking you instead to help pack up his room.
you felt jealous, sadness and anger. belly wasn’t supposed to be with you guys. it was a last minute addition, and you felt jealous of her. she had the attention and affection of both fisher boys, while you pined over the younger fisher. it felt like a movie where she was the protagonist, and you just ended up being a unimportant side character.
the car ride with everyone was uncomfortable, and you tried blocking it out by putting in headphones. the cat’s movements made you drowsy, and it wasn’t until conrad slightly shook you awake that you noticed that you guys had stopped at a motel.
the atmosphere between the 4 of you seemed tense, and you felt out of place with their love triangle. they all bickered about the bed situation, and you felt as if the room was closing in on you.
running out of the room, you gasped for a breath and took a seat next to the vending machines. a tear rolled on your cheek and you hastily wiped it off, not wanting to let your guard down.
your name was called, and you looked up to see jeremiah standing there.
“are you okay?”
you nodded and took in a deep breath.
“yeah. i’m okay.”
he eyed you as if he didn’t fully believe you.
“are you sure? you ran out of there pretty quickly. i’m sorry if you feel like you’re in the middle of this whole thing—”
you squeezed your eyes shut and waved him off.
“it’s fine.”
“i know it’s an unfair position to be in, being stuck with all of us especially when belly and i-”
you stood up and balled your fists, letting your nails dig into the palms of your hands.
“jeremiah. i said it’s fine. can you drop it?”
you never were short with him, and it caught him off guard.
“what’s with you? are you upset at me too?”
you exhaled and your eyes darted everywhere but his face.
“it’s nothing. i don’t want to talk about it.”
“cmon, you’re my best friend. are you mad because we didn’t tell conrad?”
of course. he thought you were mad for conrad’s sake.
“no, jere but seriously drop it.”
“i wanna know what i did though! i cant stand you being mad at me.”
you felt like you were going to throw up, the words escaping you before you could react.
“i’m upset because of the kiss.”
your eyes widened and jeremiah stood there with a confused look.
“the kiss? it wasn’t intentional that conrad would see, he sort of just—”
“god! it’s not about conrad! why do you assume my feelings are about conrad? it’s because you kissed her.”
“it’s because i kissed her? what does that even mean?”
you sighed and slumped your shoulders. you knew you couldn’t run and hide from it like you always did, and you weren’t even sure if you wanted to.
loving jeremiah fisher was hard, and you were tired of it being one sided. you wanted to be free of your feelings for the curly-haired fisher, wanting to just be his friend without analyzing his every move.
“i love you jeremiah. i have for a long time. so yeah i’m upset because you kissed her.”
“i-”
“do you know how hard it is to be your friend but be in love with you? do you realize seeing you look at her the same way i look at you kills me? no. you don’t. because everything is about conrad and how he feels and how belly feels and how you feel. i cant keep doing this to myself. it’s not fair.”
“doing what?” his words came out like a whisper, so faint that if you weren’t standing face to face you wouldn’t have heard him.
“this” you gestured between the two of you “this friendship. i cant do this anymore. at least not right now. it hurts too much.”
he was silent, mouth shut and his eyes holding a swirl of emotions.
“listen. i’m going to go back into the room, and i’ll take the bed with conrad. he’s aware of how i feel, and it’s just gonna be easier. we’ll talk in the morning.”
you pushed past him, and walked back to the room. pulling conrad to the side you kept him up to speed, ignoring the obvious longing and jealous look belly was giving you. it felt ironic that she was jealous of you when you were nothing but jealous of her.
the rest of the night went with you ignoring both belly and jeremiah. curling into conrad’s side, you finally let the tears fall silently and soak his shirt. he wrapped his arms around you, the two of you understanding how the other felt.
come morning, you quickly got ready and dressed before everyone else was up. getting out of the room you quickly found cell service and ordered an uber.
the car came for you quickly and you climbed in, making sure you had all your bags. you sent a text to conrad letting him know you left early for home and to not tell the others and turned your messages on mute.
putting your headphones in, you finally let yourself really cry, leaning your head against the window.
loving jeremiah fisher was hard, but you knew getting over him would be harder.

i loved conrad (still team jere) but the car scene was WILD. what do you mean you "don't trust yourself behind the wheel" ??? "but finch is...fun." "i remember how many it was last year, it was seven." he just felt the absolute NEED to go in on a bunch of jeremiah's insecurities? and yeah neither of them are bad people i'll say that until the day i die but he was objectively acting terrible. if jere had done that bonrads would be BOYCOTTING. jere just said he didn't wanna be around them when they were together and he was crucified but conrad's "hot and funny" for acting like a petulant child? sorry, but this episode he fr gave me the ick (and that's ok i can't stay mad abt it for long but still) and the jellyfish kiss was so cute i loved him cheering her on during volleyball. and the "then you're mine?" "i'm yours" AHHHHHHH I DIEDDD

Through Thick and Thin
Pairing: Stephenxreader
Tumblr media
Summary: Stephen is hopelessly in love with Y/N, but she only sees him as a friend… or so he thinks. One day, Y/N surprises him with a kiss and they spend the summer together. They start dating officially the following year and fall even more in love. They face challenges, including a long-distance relationship when Y/N moves to New York for a job, but they never lose sight of their love for each other. After three years, Y/N moves back to Pennsylvania and they walk towards the future, hand in hand, ready to face anything together.
Stephen looked out at the beach in front of him, the waves crashing onto the shore in a steady rhythm. He sighed deeply, his heart heavy with the burden of his unexpressed feelings. He was hopelessly in love with Y/N, the girl he had grown up with, the girl who had always been a part of his life, but who had never seen him as anything more than a friend.
As he watched her in the water with Conrad, he felt a pang of jealousy and sadness wash over him. He knew that he could never compete with Conrad's good looks and easy charm. But he couldn't help wishing that Y/N would see him in a different light.
Lost in his thoughts, Stephen didn't notice when Y/N came up behind him. "Hey," she said softly, her voice carrying on the breeze.
Startled, Stephen turned to face her, his eyes locking onto hers. In that moment, he saw something in her eyes that he had never seen before. Was it... could it be... could she feel the same way he did?
Before he could say anything, Y/N leaned in and pressed her lips to his. The kiss was soft and tentative at first, but soon it grew more passionate and urgent. Stephen felt like he was flying as he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.
As they broke apart, Y/N looked up at him with a shy smile. "I've been waiting for you to make a move," she said, her eyes sparkling.
Stephen couldn't believe it. All this time, she had felt the same way he did. They spent the rest of the summer lost in each other's arms, walking along the beach, watching the stars, and dreaming of a future together.
When the summer finally came to an end, Stephen knew that he would never forget the magical moments he had shared with Y/N. As they said their goodbyes, he promised her that they would be together again one day.
And he meant it.
The following year, Stephen and Y/N started dating officially. They were inseparable, also according to belly insufferable because spent every moment they could together. Stephen couldn't believe how lucky he was to have found someone like Y/N. She was smart, funny, beautiful, and kind. He felt like he could tell her anything and she would understand.
One day, while they were walking on the beach, Stephen took Y/N's hand and stopped her. "I have something to tell you," he said, his heart beating fast.
Y/N looked at him with a curious expression. "What is it?"
Stephen took a deep breath. "I love you," he said, looking into her eyes.
Y/N's face lit up with a smile. "I love you too," she said, throwing her arms around him.
From that moment on, Stephen and Y/N were even more in love than before. They talked about their future together and made plans to travel the world, explore new places, and try new things. Stephen felt like he had found his soulmate, his other half.
But as much as they loved each other, life wasn't always easy. They had their fair share of ups and downs, arguments and misunderstandings. But they always found a way to work through their problems and come out stronger on the other side.
One summer, Stephen and Y/N took a trip to Europe together. They visited Paris, Rome, and Barcelona, soaking up the culture and enjoying each other's company. But on the last night of their trip, something unexpected happened.
As they sat on a bench in a park in Barcelona, watching the sunset, Y/N turned to Stephen with a serious expression. "There's something I need to tell you," she said.
Stephen looked at her, concerned. "What is it?"
Y/N took a deep breath. "I got a job offer in New York," she said. "It's a really great opportunity, but it means I'll have to move there."
Stephen felt his heart sink. He couldn't imagine being without Y/N, even for a short time. "What does this mean for us?" he asked, his voice trembling.
Y/N took his hand in hers. "I don't know," she said. "But I want to try and make it work. I love you, Stephen, and I don't want to lose you."
Stephen knew that he felt the same way. He didn't want to lose Y/N either. They spent the rest of the night talking about their options and how they could make a long-distance relationship work.
In the end, Y/N took the job in New York and moved there. Stephen stayed behind in Pennsylvania eventually moved to New Jersey to attend Princeton although she was in New York they never really had time to see each other in person but they tried, and they talked on the phone every day and visited each other as often as they could. It wasn't easy, but they were determined to make it work.
Months turned into years, but they never lost sight of what was most important to them: each other.
Finally, after three long years of living on long-distance, Y/N decided to move back to Pennsylvania. Stephen was overjoyed and couldn't wait to be with her again.
As Y/N stepped out of her car after the 5 hour long drive she found herself In Stephen's waiting arms, he knew that he had made the right choice. He had followed his heart, and it had led him to the love of his life.
Together, Stephen and Y/N walked towards the future, hand in hand, ready to face whatever challenges and adventures lay ahead.
And they knew that as long as they had each other, they could conquer anything.

I think one of the most annoying things is how Conrad kept telling everybody to grow up but the thing is they were but he wasn’t. Like I get it Conrad you have anxiety and you’re mom was dying but Jere was also going through it and he was literally there watching Susannah die. And there is this whole argument how Belly ruined Jeremiah and Conrad’s brotherhood but that wasn’t just Belly, both boys did it to themselves. Like they let Belly come between them, Conrad lied to Belly saying Jere was over her when in episode seven eight it is very much confirmed that Jere never got over her. And the communication was never there. Like I get the whole idea of how Belly and Conrad are just cute but like that doesn’t mean they are a healthy couple. They literally never communicated. Like who knows if Conrad was even trying to actually break up with Belly at prom but they don’t communicate so it all just fell to shit. Meanwhile Jeremiah and Belly talk things through. Like the car ride to cousins when they got the flat tire. Great example of them talking out their feelings and problems. And Conrad as the older brother overlooked Jeremiah as well, Jere always put on a smile but Conrad never noticed how hurt and how much pain Jere was really in. But Jere always tried to put Conrad’s feelings first. And the way Conrad told Belly on the beach that Jeremiah wouldn’t care that they got together because Jeremiah doesn’t take anything seriously like that’s bs. And I can get people liking Conrad as a character (sometimes, other times he’s a complete dick) but I will never understand how anybody could support Conrad and Belly as a couple. And it’s fine if you don’t like Belly and Jeremiah (which would be insane) as a couple but like how do you say Jeremiah is toxic but not Conrad. And people are making this big deal about how Conrad remembered her favorite candy and Jeremiah forgot, but you know what Jeremiah didn’t forget, everything else, he remembered Belly’s guidance counselor suggesting Finch as a school she could go to, he puts Belly first. Multiple times Jeremiah has been willing to or has given up his own happiness for others, like telling Conrad that if Belly chooses him he wouldn’t come in the way because he just wants Belly to be happy and his brother as well, and when Belly goes to tell Jeremiah who she picked Jere immediately thinks she chose Conrad so he tells her they can still be friends.
And I know I’m just going on a rant and this doesn’t completely go with what I was saying but anybody who thought the car ride back from Brown with Belly, Jeremiah and Conrad was just cute and funny and that Conrad was just being playful, are very much blind to the toxicity and blatantly disrespectfulness of the situation.
If you would like my opinions on other topics in the show or other shows (if I’ve seen them) let me know I love ranting about things.

chapter six — j.f. ( masterlist )

“and my words shoot to kill when i’m mad
i have a lot of regrets about that.”

you sat alone in your room for a while, attempting to calm yourself down. it really seemed stupid after a while, honestly. jeremiah was probably just trying to be nice, and she might find someone else to bring her anyways. it wasn’t something you had to freak out about.
jeremiah knocks on your door after almost an hour.
“come in,” you call out. you’re laying in your bed, aimlessly scrolling on your phone. jeremiah comes in and smiles at you softly, then takes a seat on the edge of your bed.
“moms are back,” he says. “storms pretty much let up now, but they’re still trying to figure out the power.”
“that’s good,” you reply. he studies your face.
“is everything okay? you…left kinda abruptly.”
you look down at your hands. “oh, uh, yeah. i just…i don’t know.”
“what is it, (y/n)?” jeremiah asks, his tone serious. you look up at him.
“are you seriously going to be belly’s escort?”
he flinches. “oh. that. yeah, i think so. i mean… she told me that apparently conrad asked to be her escort but he’s been so shitty to her lately i just figured that i would do something nice for her. why not, right?”
“yeah, sure,” you say dismissively, rolling your eyes up to the ceiling. “why not?”
“what’s the problem, (y/n)?” he asks genuinely. you sigh and shake your head.
“why is she the exception for you, jeremiah?” you ask. “why, out of everyone, is she the exception?”
he stares at you, confused. “what the hell are you talking about?”
“every single time a debutante ball has ever been brought up you’ve sworn to never be an escort in your life. why is now your one exception?”
“why does it matter?” he asks. “i care about belly. of course i’m going to do something nice for her. why are you so mad about it?”
“are you kidding?” you ask, anger suddenly rising in your chest. “do you not remember when i was going to be a debutante last year?”
“(y/n), what does that have to do with me?”
“the day we sat down at dinner and i said that i was thinking about being a debutante. you immediately sat there and scoffed, and said that debutante balls were terrible and you would never be an escort,” you shake your head. “i gave up on being a debutante after that.”
jeremiah’s voice dropped. “but, why? why did my opinion matter to you? you had so many guys who would have been your escort.”
“you were the only person i would even consider asking, jeremiah,” you blurt out, and he lifts his head in surprise.
“what?”
“i genuinely cannot believe that you don’t know this already,” you run your hand through your hair. “i wanted to be your exception, jere. i would’ve loved to be a deb if you were my escort. but you couldn’t stand the idea of being my escort, could you?”
“(y/n), if i had known…” he trails off. you shake your head.
“whatever, okay?” you say. “it doesn’t matter anymore. i’ve moved on from it.”
“you could have told me,” he says.
“you really don’t get it, do you?” you ask. “you made it such an obvious point to bring that up in that moment. you knew what you were doing, jeremiah. you didn’t think of me the same way. it’s whatever. be belly’s escort. she deserves to have someone who cares about her.”
“why do you just assume i was trying to hurt you?” he asks, his tone suddenly defensive. “why couldn’t it have been an honest mistake, that i didn’t realize you thought of me like that?”
“what do you want me to think, then? that you tried to hurt me or that you’re blind?”
“you’re being ridiculous.”
“ridiculous? really?” you scoff. “how more obvious could i have fucking been? the last three summers i have done nothing but basically throw myself at you and you just—“
“no!” he yells, suddenly standing up from your bed. “no, (y/n), you don’t get to do this! you came here this summer with a boyfriend and didn’t tell me! we got so close this past year and you never fucking told me you had a boyfriend, so i walked in to this summer stupidly thinking that now was our time for something to happen. then you drop that fucking bomb on me and expect everything to be normal? you cannot call me blind when all summer you’ve been the one pretending that everything is as it’s always been.”
“jeremiah, you’re literally not listening to me,” you reply, mirroring his frustrated tone. “everything is as it’s always been to me because you’ve always treated me like this! you’ve always acted like i was so special and then walked away from me into the nearest arms of some other guy or girl! you’ve never made your feelings clear. i’m so fucking sorry that me getting a boyfriend ruined all of your plans for us that i was never a part of.”
“you’re such a fucking hypocrite,” he groans, running his hand through his hair. “you’ve always done the same thing! neither of us have ever expressed our feelings to the other. you cannot place all of this on me!”
“whatever, jeremiah,” you say, not looking at him. “whatever makes you feel good about yourself.”
he stands there and stares at you for a moment before turning around and leaving your room, slamming the door behind him. for what felt like forever, you sat motionless, staring at the door behind him. your mind was racing. jeremiah fisher just admitted he has feelings for you. that was a conversation you had imagined in your mind for years, but this wasn’t at all how you wanted or expected it to go. part of you hated yourself for being so harsh. maybe he truly just didn’t see the signs you gave him. maybe he talked himself out of believing them, just like you had for so long. but part of you was relieved that you got those feelings out. being in love with someone brings about positive emotions, but no one talks about the genuine resentment that goes along with the pining. as your feelings grew, so did the pain. a weight was lifted off of your shoulders. but, a new, maybe even heavier one replaced it. you just had the biggest fight of your lives with your best friend. no matter what, your friendship had to come first.
as much as you do genuinely believe that, you are still beyond pissed at him. you have so many unanswered questions that you aren’t even sure how to ask him. part of you talked yourself out of even believing that he had meant that he had feelings for you, but you had to try to ignore those thoughts, or else you knew you’d make things worse.
although it was still early in the evening, shortly after he left, you put your phone down and go to sleep. you decide that being asleep was better than having to stay up and think about that conversation. the power still wasn’t on, and it continued to rain outside for a while, the dark sky being a pretty good representation of how you were feeling. as dramatic as that seemed, it really was true. you felt so shitty. that was truly the only way to describe it. shitty and pathetic.

Belly's Pov
Me and Jeremiah decided to go to Aunt Julia's house — just to try to talk to her, maybe we can do something — maybe we can stop her from trying to sell the house.
We even decided to buy her flowers as an offering. As we arrived to her house, I took a deep breath and decided to hop out of the car —Jeremiah following behind me. I walked towards the door with Jeremiah beside me before ringing the door bell.
Aunt Julia opened the door before saying "Can I help you?" she asked. Jeremiah walked towards her and hugged her "Hey Aunt Julia" he said smiling — before pulling away. "Uh uhm Conrad told me you were here"
Aunt Julia looked at Jeremiah "Oh Jeremiah" she paused "and you are?" referring to me "I am Belly, Belly Conklin. Laurel Park’s daughter, Susannah's bestfriend" I told her smiling gently — giving her the flowers that I was holding.
"Oh wow, it's been so long" she said, scratching her forehead. "Uhm, we just wanted to say hi and maybe talk a little bit" Jeremiah chuckled before looking at her and smiling.
"Look uhm if its about the house, I'm sorry. It's decided" Aunt Julia said — smiling gently. Jeremiah's mouth frowned.
"Uhm we're actually doing an open house tomorrow."
"You.. you have to know how much that house means to Jeremiah and Conrad. That was their place, how-how can you let go of such a-a magical place?" I asked Aunt Julia.
"I remember her calling it that" Aunt Julia paused "But i-it's not personal" Jeremiah looked at her — brows furrowed "I bet" Jeremiah smiled sarcastically.
"I'm sorry, I have to go back to work" Aunt Julia said before closing the door. I looked at Jeremiah — I place my hand on his shoulder and patted it. We walked towards the car and drove off.
"I'm sorry, Jere" Jeremiah looked at me "It's okay, we cant really change someone's mind" he said — placing a hand on my shoulder.
TIME SKIP
"Where'd you guys go?" Conrad asked — his hair wet, he was wearing a surf suit. "We went to Aunt Julia's house" Jeremiah sighed.
Conrad face started to fill with hope "H-how did it go?" I looked at him "She's sure about this, Conrad. I don't think we can change her mind." I said -- he nodded before saying "Ofcourse"

It seems like the news that we were here in Cousins have spread fast as Taylor and Steven are on the way here. Apparently, me and Taylor were bad at lying thats why Steven knew about it immediately.
I hoped that Y/N was with them but Steven said no. He tried to push her to go but she said she need to do much more important things, I just miss her. We all thought that this news would make her come here but we were wrong.
Conrad and Jeremiah decided to talk to their dad. “Dad should be calling soon” Conrad said, informing Jeremiah.
“Do you guys want to talk to him alone?” I asked — not wanting them to be weirded out that I was there. “I-I can wait upstairs.”
As Jeremiah sat down, Conrad looked at me before saying “You helped me and J get this far. Plus its your house as much as it is ours” he smiled gently. I sat down as the phone started to ring.
AFTER A FEW MINUTES
We did everything, everything to save the house. Nothing is working, their dad is just letting it go. He just kept on sayong that it was legally Aunt Julia’s — it seemed like he never cared for it, for the house.
As the call ended, Taylor and Steven arrived to the house, surprising Conrad and Jeremiah. They were confused about why we looked down — I forgot to tell them that the house is on sale.
“We’re losing the house” Jeremiah said, sighing. “They’re putting it up for sale”
“Oh Cinderbelly” Taylor said as I stood up to hug her.

Conrad’s Pov
Here I was again, looking for her. Trying to see if she came with Steven and Taylor but no. She hasn’t even responded to my text. Maybe she’s busy.
I walked towards Jeremiah, sitting down beside him. “Hey” I said, patting his shoulder.
“You know, I thought I could convince dad. I thought we could” He sighed.
I nodded and sighed “I thought so too.” chuckling a little bit.
“It’s just.. it feels like everything is slipping away and-and the house is the only thing - the last thing tying us together” It was true, it did feel like it — we didn’t expect that we’d get together like this, that we’d be complete because of this reason.
“We’re not giving up, Jere” I looked at him shaking my head “We’re going to do something about it, I don’t have a plan. Not yet but I’ll do everything, we’ll figure ig out together.” I told Jeremiah. He nodded.
“I-I just hope she’s here, she’s the only one missing Connie” Jeremiah said — referring to Y/N. She just made everything less worse for everyone, I hope she was here too.
“Me too, Jere. Me too” I paused “You know, we should hang out tomorrow. Just all of us staying here for open house, that’d be a good plan” I chuckled
Jeremiah chuckled then nodded “Yeah we should definitely do that”
TIME SKIP
As me and Jeremiah got done talking we went inside the house and decided to hang out with the rest. They all sat down in their own places. “So what do you guys want to watch?” I asked.
“We should do… this one” Belly said — holding up mom’s favorite movie. I smiled taking it from her hands as I walked towards the tv — i mouthed a “thank you” to Belly.
After that, I went and sat the down on the other couch until I looked at my phone — recieving a text. I felt my chest tighten, I need to get out of the house. I stood up from my seat and went straight to the beach.
It was happening again, It attacked me again. I couldn’t breathe, it felt like someone was choking me. I pulled out my phone again — looking if the text was real, it was, I got in but what about Jeremiah, I can’t.
My mind filled with worried, with anxiety, not until another text popped up. It was like a coincidence, the text — my breathing is okay now, my heart is beating at a normal pace. The text was from the one that I have been waiting for.
She responded, it was from Y/N. She was going to come here, she’s coming here to Cousin. We’re complete now.

Jeremiah likes (Y/N) but thinks she's not interested. He gets jealous of Belly and Conrad but confesses his feelings to (Y/N) after a firework incident. They start a summer romance.
Under the shimmering Fourth of July sky, the beach came alive with festivities. The annual beach party was in full swing, and laughter mingled with the sound of waves crashing against the shore. Jeremiah Fisher's heart raced as he watched the crowd enjoying the celebration.
He couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy when he saw his brother Conrad and Belly together on the pier. Jeremiah had harbored a secret crush on (Y/N) since they were kids, but he always believed that being a year older, she wouldn't be interested in him. So this summer, he tried to focus his attention on Belly, hoping to distract himself from his feelings for (Y/N).
However, witnessing the almost-kiss between Conrad and Belly reignited his insecurities. He couldn't bear the thought of another girl he cared about falling for his brother. Frustration and heartache clouded his judgment as he impulsively grabbed a firework, aiming it in their direction. The firework soared into the sky, missing them by a hair's breadth.
Regret washed over Jeremiah as he realized the recklessness of his actions. He knew he had made a mistake and desperately wished he could take it back. Feeling overwhelmed, he wandered away from the party, seeking solace on the quiet stretch of the beach.
Lost in his thoughts, he was startled when he heard footsteps approaching. Turning his head, he saw (Y/N) walking towards him, her expression showing genuine concern.
"Jeremiah, are you alright?" she asked, her voice soft and caring.
He hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to say, but the guilt was too heavy to bear. "I'm sorry. It was me who shot the firework. I was just... jealous."
(Y/N) furrowed her brow, surprised by his confession. "Jealous? Of what?"
Jeremiah took a deep breath, gathering the courage to be honest. "I saw Conrad and Belly on the pier, and I... I've liked you for so long, but I always thought you'd never see me that way because you're a year older. Then I saw Conrad, and it felt like every girl in my life has a crush on him."
A soft smile played on (Y/N)'s lips as she sat down beside him. "Jeremiah, you have no idea. I've liked you too, for as long as I can remember. And age has never mattered to me."
His heart skipped a beat, disbelief mingling with hope. "You mean that?"
She nodded, her eyes locked with his. "I do. I've always been drawn to you, but I thought you had feelings for Belly, so I kept my distance."
Jeremiah's heart soared, and he realized that he had been blind to (Y/N)'s feelings all this time. "I'm so sorry I didn't see it before."
"Well, I'm sorry I didn't make it more obvious," (Y/N) said with a playful grin.
They laughed, the tension between them fading away. Under the starlit sky, they confessed their feelings for each other, their hearts finally finding the courage to take a leap of faith.
As the night unfolded, they walked back to the party hand in hand, knowing that this summer, everything had changed. They had each other, and no firework could ever compare to the spark they found in each other's hearts. With the sound of the waves as their background music, Jeremiah and (Y/N) began a summer romance that would forever change the course of their lives.
