He’s always put a bit of himself into every character he creates. He once talked about his original plotline for cTubbo and how the storyline was dark and depressing because it’s where he was at the time.

He puts real emotions and experiences into most of his characters, so to hear him say this isn’t so much surprising for how similar the are so much as the fact that he admitted it

Man, I wish I could sit down with Tubbo and explain that understanding why you think/do certain things don’t inherently mean you understand yourself.

I think he confuses mental health with the subject of psychology and he doesn’t fully understand that you can be aware of your mental state and being while not fully understanding or knowing why. Just having a reason as to why he finds trouble doing certain tasks that he gets upset at himself for would go a long way for him. He doesn’t need to know why, just that it’s something that happens. Like the way he knows he has trouble reading because of dyslexia.

Just someone saying that he might have trouble doing the dishes because of sensory issues due to a diagnosis would help him understand and work through it itself if getting upset at himself.
