Jill Ellis: I refuse to put HAO on my starting XI, so I'm gonna let her set up the line up, if something goes wrong I'll just point out that that's why she's retiring.
I didn’t get to watch the game live yesterday since I was working, but here’s some thoughts I had when I had the chance to watch the game in full. 1. Interesting pushing Becky into midfield instead of JJ. Although messing with that World Cup backline in general is a mistake, I think. Deff need to find someone to fill Cheney’s holding midfield role tho. 2. First goal was obviously straight from the training field. Executed well against an out of position Haiti defense. 3. Solid penalty from Carli off of a good run in from Alex. 4. That incredible ball from Pinoe and crazy run from Dunn. 5. Alex obviously wanting to score and produce for the team, but still laying off balls to her teammates and being unselfish, leading to the second Lloyd goal. 6. Loling at the crowd screaming every time Hope touches the ball. 7. Kling’s little backheel to keep that ball inbounds was awesome. 8. 3rd Carli hat trick of the year! 9. Moe taking corner kicks :,) 10. That A-Rod goal. That is why I love her. 11. That little flick from Engen to the Alex header. Much needed. Super glad to see Alex finally score. Overall a solid game. 100 game home unbeaten streak!
