And another thing: Dr. Brenner gets attacked by a Demogorgon and survives, but Bob Newby doesn't?

it's really nice that people tell me that they love Oz bc that gives me the heartbreaking task to tell you that he kind of sucks, actually;

well, okay, Oz doesn't suck. but he's repressing gay feelings in the 80s, so at times he isnt the nicest person around.

he's a part of the Hawkins Tigers basketball team by virtue of him being tall and fast, and it has taken many pleas from Jason Carver to keep him on the team after repeated incidents of Oz punching the shit out of the opponent. he and Jason have a strained acquaintance-ship at best, but Jason is one of the few people who knows when he's reached Oz's limit.

see, Oz has this anger problem. ever since he was little he's taught himself to push down ever single emotion he has, resulting in him being possibly the most emotionally constipated person in the entire world. for good reason, though, because he's relatively certain that Hawkins and the world at large aren't exactly ready for the whole being gay thing.

this is also partially why Oz can't stand to be around Eddie, though it takes him a while to figure that out. because Eddie makes him feel things, and he can't deal with that.

his inability to deal with emotions is also the reason Vecna is after him in the first place, so you can imagine the viscious cycle he's stuck in.

I want to say he'd be pals with Emma but again; he kinda sucks. he doesn't really like Steve in the beginning either, but the two grow closer, so I like to imagine he and Emma would as well. Robin has a special place in his heart, though, so I can very vividly picture him giving Emma the third degree. very "what are your intentions with my Robin?" lol.

once Oz realizes he's actually safe with Steve and the others he'd finally come out of his shell a bit more, and I like the idea of him and Emma bonding over being traumatized and gay.
