the kingdom of heartlandia was ruled by the wheeler royal family for generations. her highness, queen katherine(karen) wheeler along side her husband, king theodore wheeler parent three children.

the oldest, princess nancy wheeler 18 and heir to the throne. then, the second oldest, prince michael joseph wheeler 16 and finally, the youngest princess holly wheeler, 6.

both princess were proper young ladies but their brother was a different story. he is quite the rebellious of sorts, always rushing off to anything besides his royal duties. this concerned his parents deeply but, michael couldn’t have a care in the world.

one day, he decided to visit his favorite place in the kingdom, one of the royal gardens.(they have three, one of each heir.) as he walked through the garden, he heard a snipping behind him. micheal turned around and yelped. in his view, he saw a peasant boy with clippers. “who are you?” mike questioned “the name’s lucas, I work here?” the boy replied. “oh.” mike said quietly “so, what brings ya here?” lucas asked curiously “just felt like escaping.” mike said bluntly

“are you prince michael?” “yes, you’ve never seen me?” michael asks “nah, you’re very hard to find but very beautiful if i do say so myself” lucas said very casually. the prince started to flush a bright pink all over his face and the tips of his ears. “um,” “uh-“ mike spurted. “what? no one’s ever told you to that you’re beautiful?” lucas placed his clippers to the side and gazed into mike’s eyes.

mike looks in his eyes and sincerely says “well, no, not when you’re the rebel of the family and ya know, are everything your parents don’t want you to be.” lucas hums in agreement “i guess that makes the two of us.”;) mike starts shaking his head “why am i telling you this? i barely even know you.” “well, i’d like to get to know you, pretty boy.” (😍) lucas tips his straw hat in mike’s direction, mike blushes and cracks a smile “what if you regret it?” “i could never” lucas gasps in aspiration.

the next few days were pure bliss for michael. at every chance he would get, he’d sneak off to visit the garden. there would stand lucas with his straw hat and his hand waiting to be held. they'd usually go to the market and browse things, thought the whispers and stares were bugging mike ‘the prince with a peasant black boy?’ ‘what a disgrace?’ ‘do the king and queen know about this?’ ‘hell, they probably allow this foolery’.

but they never (totally) stop him from having fun with lucas. they’d run to the forest to lay down on the soft grass and look at the clouds. mike’s thoughts would go to the whispers but lucas would stop his train of thought to ask him how the clouds look. “that one looks like you” he say and point to the said cloud. mike didn’t really pay attention though, too distracted by lucas’ cuteness to really pay any attention.

after those ‘hangouts’, they would say their goodbyes and mike would go to the palace and lucas to his home. mike would lay on his bed pondering on lucas, sure he’s attractive, ok very attractive and he’s kind and loving and-. ‘wait a minute’ he thought ‘do i like lucas?’ he blushed at the thought but soon, he would get tired and drift away to dream about his sweetheart. ;)

with lucas, he’d too lay awake on his bed thinking about the day he had. though, those thoughts would be interrupted by his little sister, erica barging in his room. “where were you all day?” she’d question “i told you, i’ve been at work” lucas replied rudely. “ok, ok don’t need to get so moody, i’ll leave you alone and also, mom and dad want you down for supper.” erica said as she left his room.
