It's so clear to me that so many so called "anti Zionists" - especially the non Palestinian goyim - have no idea how the Israeli election system works, and how bibi remains in power, and why we had five elections in like, three years, despite elections supposedly being every four years - because he couldn't keep a government stable enough to stay in power. Bibi netanyahu is MASSIVELY unpopular, and his approval rate has tanked even more since the war started, even among likud voters, the people who vote for HIS party (although their approval rates ranked less than the rest of the population). He has an extreme right wing government because if he didn't cooperate with right wing extremists and haredim he straight up wouldn't have the majority he needs to be our prime minister in the first place. He's been on trial for corruption for years at this point, and tried to completely restructure the judicial system just to avoid prison - leading to nearly a full year of protests until Oct 7. Luckily it didn't end up passing.
If elections were held at any point in the last five months since this war started, not only would he not be PM, we'd straight up have a center-left government. My recent transformation into a Yair Golan stan account is a joke but also 100% real - according to polls from the last three months or so, if he does what he's campaigning to do, leading a combined avoda and meretz party, he'd get enough votes to have an actual influential left wing party in the government for the first time in decades. An unbelievable amount of Israelis are calling for bibi to resign, many of them not calling for it to happen after the war ends, but right now.
I am sourcing this information from polls conducted by channels 11 (kan), 12, and 13, as well as by the Israeli democracy foundation, all but one of our important news channels - channel 14, the last channel, is our equivalent of fox news, and despite their numbers often being extremely different due to what is in my opinion biased reporting and flawed methodology, even they at times have had to admit that gantz is currently leading in the polls.
(Disclaimer that I work for a company that provides subtitles for channel 13, but i do not directly work for channel 13. Channel 13 leans mostly center left, and employs several (self identified) Arab Israelis in front of the camera, including Lucy Aharish, who makes considerable effort to bring Palestinian and Bedouin perspectives to her show. It also employs at least one massive racist though.)
I write this post because I keep seeing an unsourced claim by goyim that there's a poll showing a high rate of approval - 88%! - of the destruction and/or deaths Israel and the IDF are causing in Gaza. I went down a rabbit hole and simply couldn't find a poll asking about approval of deaths or destruction, although maybe I was looking up the wrong keywords? As a result I have just... So many questions. Because with the information I have from trustworthy local news sources, from the news channels I mentioned above and papers such as yediot aharonot/ynet and Haaretz, it doesn't fit with current public opinion, including many recent protests for more efforts towards a ceasefire. So my questions are thus -
Who conducted this poll? Was it a think tank, a government agency, a paper, a news channel? If so, which one? Are they left leaning, right leaning? Was it conducted by an Israeli or foreign institution?
Who did they ask? Was it a sample of likud voters; all Israeli adults; did they include only Jewish Israelis or also Arab citizens (approx. 1.5 million out of our 8 million population), Bedouins, and other minorities?
When was the poll conducted? Was it in October, immediately after the Oct 7 massacre, before the death toll in Gaza grew? Was it conducted more recently?
What, exactly, did they ask? Did they ask about destruction in general, or about the death toll in particular? Did they ask about the attempts to rescue hostages with military means, or all military actions? Did they ask about the number of Hamas operatives dead, about their estimated ratio of Hamas to civilians, about the total deaths?
What was the size of the pool surveyed? Was it conducted on a few dozen, a few hundred, or a few thousand people?
Because without this information, that one, sole statistic is essentially useless. As Mark Twain said, there are lies, damned lies, and statistics. Always look at the source and ask: who asked the questions, who got asked, and what the questions were.
More specific statistics and sources under the cut.
I did find one survey by the Israel democracy foundation that asked if the IDF should take the Gazan suffering into account - an entirely different question, although it did still have a horrific 89% Jewish Israelis and 14% Arab Israelis and Palestinian citizens who said they shouldn't. That said, the pool they were drawing from was not very large - 500 of the interviews were conducted in Hebrew, 100 were conducted in Arabic. Also, of the people who supposedly said that they shouldn't, a little more than half of both populations said they should "somewhat" take it into account - that is, they didn't say they shouldn't take it into account at all, just not make it their first priority. This survey was conducted mid December.
In another survey by the same source with a slight larger sample size (a little over 600 Jewish Israelis and a little over 150 Arab Israelis), an insanely low 15% still wanted Bibi to be the PM, with the only candidate who received more than 6.5% being the center candidate Benny Gantz, who historically has tried to cooperate with center and left parties, with a whopping 23% of the votes. The survey included 10 candidates, as well as five other non candidate options. 4% voted "just not Bibi", and an actually insane 30.5% voted they were undecided. Only a quarter of those surveyed believed Bibi would manage to maintain a coalition after the war, a number that includes more extreme right wing voters, and only the ultra Orthodox haredi population had a majority of people (60%) who believed he can. This survey was conducted in January.
The channel 13 news survey from early March - barely over a week ago! - covered more specifically which parties would manage to get into the government and how many seats they would get, as under a certain amount of votes you simply do not get seats. Not all seats get into a coalition. According to their poll, the amount of seats the likud would get is halved, from 32 to 17, while gantz's the state camp would grow from 12 to 39. While currently meretz gets 4 seats and haavodah do not get enough votes to get a seat at the table so to speak, a combined haavodah and meretz under Yair Golan gets 9 mandates. In total, the right wing only get 47 mandates, well short of the amount of mandates necessary to create a government.
Channel 12's corresponding poll from January shows 35 mandates for gantz, and bibi had 18 mandates. Channel 11, in the same month, gave gantz 33 mandates and bibi 20.
I also sources an English Jerusalem post article which reports on channel 14's polls; jpost is a right wing biased paper, and yet even they report 36 mandates for gantz and 18 for bibi as of February.

Protests erupt around Israel against Bibi, calling for elections - Israel Politics - The Jerusalem Post
Tens of thousands protest Netanyahu government, call for elections
By SHAKED SADEH, ALON HOCHMON, MATAN WASSERMAN, JERUSALEM POST STAFF Published: MARCH 17, 2024 00:35
Updated: MARCH 17, 2024 10:17
Tumblr media
Demonstrators protest calling for the for the release of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip, outside Hakirya Base in Tel Aviv, March 16, 2024.
Across the different protests, speakers denounced not only the members of the governing coalition, but also those who sit in the opposition or are seen as checks on Netanyahu in the war cabinet.
An estimated 34,000 Israelis took to the streets on Saturday night to protest the Netanyahu government. In Caesarea, four were arrested, in Tel Aviv police shot water cannons at demonstrators blocking the Ayalon highway, and in Jerusalem, protesters temporarily shut down the city-center intersection at Paris Square.
Across the different protests, speakers denounced not only the members of the governing coalition, but also those who sit in the opposition or are seen as alternatives to Netanyahu in a post-war re-alignment:
In Tel Aviv, Moshe Redman, who was a leader of the movement to oppose the government’s proposed judicial reforms last year, called on “[Ministers-without-portfolio Benny] Gantz and [Gadi] Eisenkot”— who sit with Prime Minister Netanyahu in the war cabinet— “the leaders of the opposition, the chairman of the Histadrut, the heads of local governments, leaders in the economy, the heads of universities, and others who look at this disaster and don’t take action— wake up!”
Yair Golan calls for “mother of all protests” to bring elections
In Haifa, at a protest that centered calls for a hostage deal and early elections, Major General (res.) and former Member of Knesset Yair Golan, who is looked to as a candidate to lead the political left in the coming period, called the current government shameless, telling the crowd, “the shame is lost, and all we have left is a determined, hard, bitter struggle.”
Golan said this struggle had “two stages: First, we all must feel rage— holy rage, deep rage, restless rage. With this rage,” he said, “we will bring down the government and bring about new elections.”

Golan called upon the crowd to build the “mother of all protests,” saying “it is on us to go out into the streets, in the thousands, all day, every day,” encouraging demonstrators to “besiege the Knesset,” to “stand at intersections,” and to “fill the streets and paralyze the [government]’s ability to govern,” referring to the coalition as memshelet ha-ason— the “government of the catastrophe.”

World leaders congratulate Joe Biden on his victory
New Post has been published on https://appradab.com/world-leaders-congratulate-joe-biden-on-his-victory/
World leaders congratulate Joe Biden on his victory
Canadian leader Justin Trudeau emphasized the close alliance between Canada and the US in his remarks.
“Congratulations Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” Trudeau wrote on Twitter. “Our two countries are close friends, partners and allies. We share a relationship that’s unique on the world stage. I’m really looking forward to working together and building on that with you both.”
In Europe, the reactions were led by Irish politicians. “I want to congratulate the new President Elect of the USA [Joe Biden],” Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin tweeted after the result emerged. Martin also referenced Biden’s Irish-American heritage, adding: “Joe Biden has been a true friend of this nation throughout his life and I look forward to working with him in the years ahead. I also look forward to welcoming him back home when the circumstances allow!”
Ireland’s health minister Simon Coveney said the country’s government looked “forward to working with a (Biden/Harris) presidency to sustain & strengthen Irish American relations, and so much more.”
The leaders of US allies South Korea and Australia also congratulated Biden and Harris.
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said in a statement that “the President-elect has been a great friend of Australia over many years,” and noted that Biden will step into the role at a crucial time as the world battles the Covid-19 pandemic.
“American leadership is indispensable to meeting these challenges and upholding the rules, norms and standards of our international community,” Morrison said.
Morrison thanked current US President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for their work with Australia over the past four years.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in tweeted he looked forward to working with Biden and Harris.
“Our alliance is strong and the bond between our two countries is rock-solid,” Moon said.
‘Welcome back America!’
In France Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo also reacted on Twitter, declaring “Welcome back America!”
“While we are about to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, this victory symbolizes our need to act together more than ever, in view of climate emergency,” she wrote.
The US left the landmark agreement earlier this week.
French President Emmanuel Macron also posted a lively tweet, writing: “The Americans have chosen their President. We have a lot to do to overcome today’s challenges. Let’s work together!”
The sense of Biden’s election strengthening the US global role was also echoed in other European statements.
Norbert Röttgen, Chairman of the German Foreign Affairs Committee, said he was “very happy for all my American friends and for this great chance to revive our transatlantic friendship,” while Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said Germany wanted “to invest in our cooperation for a new transatlantic beginning, a new deal.”
London mayor Sadiq Khan said Biden and Harris’ win meant it was “time to get back to building bridges, not walls” in a dig at President Trump’s policy of building a wall at the US-Mexico border.
Khan and Trump have clashed repeatedly over the years.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also congratulated Biden and Harris and stressed the importance of the transatlantic relationship.
“Congratulations to Joe Biden on his election as President of the United States and to Kamala Harris on her historic achievement,” Johnson said on Twitter.
“The US is our most important ally and I look forward to working closely together on our shared priorities, from climate change to trade and security.”
Johnson and Trump’s administrations were thought to be close allies and UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab took care to acknowledge the White House incumbent.
“It was a close contest and [Donald Trump] fought hard,” he wrote on Twitter.
Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán also congratulated Biden, according to Orbán’s spokesman Zoltan Kovacs.
Orbán said in a letter to Biden: “I wish you good health and continuous successes in fulfilling your duties of extraordinary responsibility.”
‘Critical shared interests’
Some politicians who had closer ties to Trump took the time to reflect on the sitting president’s achievements.
In Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted his congratulations on Twitter several hours after other world leaders.
Netanyahu said he and Biden have had a “long & warm” personal relationship for almost 40 years and sees him as “a great friend of Israel” and looks forward to working together.
Netanyahu has worked closely with the White House on Middle East policy in recent years.
In a separate Twitter post, Netanyahu thanked Trump “for the friendship you have shown the state of Israel and me personally, for recognizing Jerusalem and the Golan, for standing up to Iran, for the historic peace accords and for bringing the American-Israeli alliance to unprecedented heights.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Opposition leader Yair Lapid said: “Congratulations to my friend President-Elect Joe Biden and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris. The relationship between our countries is based on deeply held values and critical shared interests which I know will be at the heart of your administration.”
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas also offered his congratulations to the winners of the US Presidential election.
In a statement released on the official Palestinian news agency Wafa, Abbas said he was “looking forward to working with President-elect Biden and his administration in order to enhance the Palestinian-American relations and achieve freedom, independence, justice and dignity for our people… and in order to achieve peace, stability and security for all in our region and the world.”
‘The ugly face of liberal democracy’
World leaders spent the past week watching closely as the election results gradually unfolded. Some, like UK Prime Minister Johnson, tread lightly in anticipation of an unclear outcome. Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau had said he was observing cautiously so as to not interfere with the process. Others cheered on the prospect of a Biden win. Paris Mayor Hidalgo had voiced her ongoing support for Biden and hope for renewed partnerships with the US on issues like climate change.
Many foreign onlookers had concerns about President Trump’s comments on voter fraud and early claims of victory, and the impact those might have on democracy globally. A senior German politician described Trump’s approach to the ongoing vote-counting as “unbelievable” and “awful behavior.”
Russia’s Foreign Ministry had commented on Twitter that the tight race was a sign of weakness in the US electoral system.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, whose relationship with Washington has soured under Trump, echoed the sentiment after Saturday’s election outcome. “The situation in the US and what they themselves say about their elections is a spectacle!” Khamenei said on Twitter.
On Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the next US administration had an opportunity “to make up for the past mistakes.”
“An opportunity has arisen now for the next US administration to make up for the past mistakes and return to the course of commitment to international obligations by respecting international principles,” Rouhani said from Tehran, according to Iran’s state-run Press TV.
Rouhani said Iran respects international obligations, and that they expect similar commitments from world leaders, according to Press TV.
Kamala Harris’ historic night
The significance of Harris’ victory as Vice-President elect was not lost on the world stage. The election call on Saturday made Harris the first woman to win the vice presidency, not to mention the first Black woman and the first South Asian woman to achieve this.
Indian prime minister Narendra Modi offered Harris, the daughter of an Indian mother and Jamaican father, his “heartiest congratulations” on Twitter.
“Your success is pathbreaking, and a matter of immense pride not just for your chittis, but also for all Indian-Americans,” Modi wrote.
“Chitti” is a Tamil word used to refer to the younger sisters of a person’s mother.
The Indian leader is a close Trump ally but said he was confident that “the vibrant India-US ties will get even stronger” with Harris’ support.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo and Indian opposition figure Rahul Gandhi were among those to congratulate Harris on her groundbreaking achievement.
In Colombia, mayor of Bogota Claudia Lopez had a particularly exuberant reaction on Twitter.
“How proud that a woman, Afro, Indian, Jamaican, great professional and extraordinary leader, became the Vice Presidency of the United States for the first time!” Lopez wrote.
“With every woman who wins, we all win!”

FAITH IN GOD MEANS TRUSTING
Tumblr media
“Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness” (Genesis 15:6)
It was reported in the Jerusalem Post recently that the Coronavirus crisis has turned a number of Israelis and Palestinians to faith in God. The word “Emunah” is a Hebrew word meaning faith. To have faith in God Almighty we are persuaded, assured and firmly convicted that what we pray for and hope will come to pass because the Lord God is at work through our prayers... even though at times we cannot see it immediately. It was also reported in Israel that some 34% of Jewish people and 49% of Palestinians said their “faith” increased as a result of the coronavirus. Let us pray that all who came closer to the Lord through this pandemic will be steadfast and persistent in their walk with Him, that it not be head knowledge but heart changes in many people. (See prayer request below*)
Tumblr media
“...It was Abram’s “believing” that gave him righteousness in God’s sight. Protestants have emphasized the importance of believing God’s promises, instead of working to earn our salvation, but it is important to understand that the key word, emunah, that we translate “believe” has a different emphasis in Hebrew than we tend to hear. The word emunah does mean to have faith, but it has a broader meaning that has implications for what God calls us to as people of faith. It contains the idea of steadfastness or persistence. In Exodus 17 Moses raised his hands all day long until the Israelites won a key battle. It says that his hands remained steady, emunah, until sunset. In this sense it means steadfast. God is also described using the word emunah in Deuteronomy 7:9: “Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful (emunah) God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.”
If we look back at the verse about Abraham’s emunah, it should tell us that Abraham believed God’s promises and had a persistent commitment to God which showed in his faithful life. He waited 25 years for a son, and offered him back to God when he was asked... God wants faith in His promises that results in a steadfast faithfulness to Him.” (Lois Tverberg, Ein Gedi Resource Center: ourrabbijesus.com.)
Yair Netanyahu (son of Prime Minister Netanyahu) recently spoke up for Christianity in Europe in May. He repeated his desire to see Europe again become “free, democratic and Christian!”. He went on to call the EU an enemy not only to Israel, but to all Christians. This is not the first time he has defended Christianity, and even Jesus. Late last year, Israel Today reported he fervently defended the Jewishness of Jesus which I reported in our For Zion Sake magazine (see CFI website “Restoring the Jewishness of Jesus, www. cfijerusalem.org). It seems the young Netanyahu has “emunah” in his heart and knows the Bible well.
“In the meantime, Hezbollah’s Southern headquarters is training Syrian troops and collecting intelligence on the IDF” (Anna Ahronhem). In preparing for a future war against Israel, it is training commanders and soldiers in the Golan Heights. Should any attack be carried out by Hezbollah, they will use the best mobility, firepower and manpower available to them. Israel does not want Hezbollah to entrench itself on the Golan and has carried out several strikes against operatives belonging to the Golan Project. While Israel does not want to provoke a war, it does need to prepare and also do all it can to stop one from happening. As such, the IDF has heightened its state of alert in the north of Israel, increasing its intelligence, training of soldiers and troops and preparing for any deterioration which might happen. Much prayer is needed and strong “emunah” to know that “…He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4).
Let’s Enter the Throne Room of Prayer with Emunah!
Pray fervently that Israeli Palestinians will learn who is the True One God and that they will face the same direction as Temple Mount (as Jewish people do) one day. Allah is not the God of Israel. Pray for many people who are caught in the deception of Islam. God wants to set every man and woman free to serve Him. “Turn to me and be saved, all you ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. ... They will say of me, `In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength. ‘” All who have raged against him will come to him and be put to shame” (Isaiah 45:5,22).
Thank the Lord for giving steadfastness and persistence to all intercessors, around the world, who pray for Israel faithfully. God bless the intercessors! “As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD by failing to pray for you. And I will teach you the way that is good and right” (1 Samuel 12:23). “Emunah” is the key.
Beseech His Face on behalf of the Netanyahu family. The responsibilities of our Prime Minister are many, he always needs undergirding. The wife and children often take the brunt of political bias and fake news as well as disturbing comments about them. Keep them lifted up to God. “Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity” (1 Timothy 2:1-2).
Thank God that He is the Defender and Strength of Israel. “This is what the LORD, your Defender, the Holy One of Israel, says: I am the LORD your God. I teach you what is best for you. I lead you where you should go.” (Isaiah 48:17). “And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent” (1 Samuel 15:29).
Intercede in faith that the enemy of our souls will not try to pre-empt a regional war with Israel at this time during the corona virus.
Proclaim His Promise of healing for all Israelis who have come into contact with the virus in Israel – that God will be their healer and raise them up quickly. “If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). Israel must forsake the ways of the nations and walk with God to become His Light to the nations. Much prayer is needed for this.
We all need much “emunah” (faith) to make it through the difficult days and perhaps years ahead of us. As we stand in faith for the many promises of God for Israel, we know that God is not a man that He can lie so we have full assurance that His Promises will be manifested in His Timing. I can see every day of my life a real nation and people around us who were not here one hundred years ago. What a miracle in the earth the nation of Israel is today. Vibrant, strong and full of miracles, even when their faith in God is being tested. God will make of this nation and people a strong emunah nation – one filled with faith and righteousness. This is His promise as He moves them toward being (even if slowly) to become a “light to the nations”. “Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: Instruction will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations...” (Isaiah 51:4).

Syria, Russia accuse Israel over air strike, deny chemical attack
New Post has been published on https://newsintoday.info/2018/04/09/syria-russia-accuse-israel-over-air-strike-deny-chemical-attack/
Syria, Russia accuse Israel over air strike, deny chemical attack
AMMAN (Reuters) – Syria and its main ally Russia blamed Israel for carrying out an attack on a Syrian air base near Homs on Monday which followed reports of a poison gas attack by President Bashar al-Assad’s forces on a rebel-held town.
Israel, which has struck Syrian army locations many times in the course of its neighbour’s seven-year-old civil war, has neither confirmed nor denied mounting the raid.
But Israeli officials said the Tiyas, or T-4, air base was being used by troops from Iran and that Israel would not accept such a presence in Syria by its arch foe.
The strike took place after a suspected chemical weapons attack on the rebel-held town of Douma which, according to one Syrian aid organisation, killed at least 60 people.
U.S. President Donald Trump warned of a “big price to pay” after the initial reports of the poison gas attack, although the Syrian government and its main ally Russia have denied involvement.
Trump referred in a Tweet to “Animal Assad” and criticised Russia and Iran for backing the Syrian leader, directly naming Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons international watchdog said it had opened an investigation to determine what exactly had happened in Douma.
U.S. Defence Secretary Jim Mattis on Monday raised the possibility of military action against Syria if it was proved to have carried out a chemical weapons attack.
British Prime Minister Theresa May called it “reprehensible” and said if the Assad government was found to be responsible, it would be held to account.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said such allegations were false and a provocation. Lavrov said the strike on the T-4 base was a dangerous development.
The latest incidents in Douma and Tiyas demonstrated the complex and volatile nature of the Syria war, which started in March 2011 as an anti-Assad uprising and now involves a number of countries and a myriad of insurgent groups.
RED LINES
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based monitor, said at least 14 people were killed in Monday’s air strike on the T-4 base, including foreign fighters – a reference to Iranian-backed Shi’ite militia members, mostly from Iraq, Lebanon and Iran fighting alongside the Syrian army.
Iran’s Fars news agency said three Iranians were killed.
Syrian state TV initially said the United States was suspected of carrying out the attack on T-4. Washington denied this, and France, which in February had said it would strike in the event of a chemical weapons attack on civilians by Syrian government forces, said its forces were not involved.
The Russian military, whose support for Assad turned the war in his favour, said two Israeli F-15 war planes carried out the strike. Interfax news agency cited the Russian Defence Ministry as saying Syrian air defence systems had shot down five of eight missiles fired.
Syrian state news agency SANA, citing a military source, carried a similar report. “The Israeli aggression on the T4 airport was carried out with F-15 planes that fired several missiles from above Lebanese land,” it said.
The Israeli government had no immediate comment.
Israel has accused Damascus of allowing Iran to set up a complex at the T-4 base to supply arms to its ally, Lebanon’s Hezbollah, and in the past its forces have hit convoys and bases of Iranian-backed militias that fight alongside Assad’s troops.
Defence analysts say a number of Russian troops are also based there and jets fly regular sorties from T-4.
Israeli opposition lawmaker Yair Lapid told Army Radio: “Israel will not accept an Iranian military presence in Syria and will not accept Iran’s creeping entrenchment in Syria and this has costs.”
Housing Minister Yoav Galant, while also not confirming that Israel had carried out the attack, said: “We have clear interests in Syria. We laid down red lines there, which said that we would not allow Syrian land to be a springboard for game-changing weaponry to Lebanon, we would not allow the building of an Iranian army in Syria and we would not allow the opening of another front on the Golan Heights.
“In this context we are taking action with all means, over time.”
FOAM AT THE MOUTH
As international officials worked to try to confirm the suspected chemical attack on Douma, a Syria medical relief group said at least 60 people had been killed there and more than 1,000 injured in several sites.
“The numbers keep rising as relief workers struggle to gain access to the subterranean areas where gas has entered and hundreds of families had sought refuge,” said the Union of Medical Care Organizations (UOSSM).
The Syrian opposition blamed the suspected attack on government forces, who launched an air and ground assault on Douma, the last rebel-held town in the eastern Ghouta district, on Friday.
One video shared by activists showed bodies of about a dozen children, women and men, some with foam at the mouth. Reuters could not independently verify the reports.
The United States fired missiles on a Syrian air base a year ago in response to the killing of dozens of civilians in a sarin gas attack in an opposition-held town in northwest Syria, blamed on Assad.
U.S. government sources said Washington’s assessment of Saturday’s attack was that chemical weapons were used. The European Union also said evidence pointed to the use of chemical weapons by Assad’s forces.
The United Nations Security Council will meet on Monday following rival requests by Russia and the United States.
U.N. war crimes investigators had previously documented 33 chemical attacks in Syria, attributing 27 to the Assad government, which has repeatedly denied using the weapons.
UOSSM said doctors could not determine the origin of Saturday’s suspected chemical attack. Dr. Muhammad, a doctor in Ghouta, said patients were coughing blood, a symptom not seen in previous chemical attacks.
Despite the potential reprisals, the attack appears to have brought Assad closer to victory in the military campaign for eastern Ghouta launched by his Russian-backed army in February.
The rebel group Jaish al-Islam has given way to a Syrian government demand that it accept safe passage out to rebel-held areas at the Turkish border.
In Washington, Republican U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, urged Trump and his administration to destroy Assad’s air capabilities, enforce safe zones inside Syria, and target Assad directly.

“This president has the chance to do exactly the opposite of (former U.S. President Barack) Obama – send a strong signal that there’s a new sheriff in town and America’s back,” Graham told Fox News in an interview.

Gabbay Wants Elections Now
New Post has been published on http://hamodia.com/2017/11/13/gabbay-wants-elections-now/
Gabbay Wants Elections Now
Avi Gabbay, head of Zionist Camp (Miriam Alster/Flash90)
With his party riding high in opinion polls and the prime minister under investigation, Labor party chairman Avi Gabbay on Monday urged the government to call early elections.
“In the past few weeks, we’ve been hearing about a conflict in the coalition: On the one hand, the prime minister wants to call elections as soon as possible, and on the other, the party leaders prefer elections on schedule,” Gabbay claimed during the weekly meeting of his Zionist Camp faction, of which Labor is the senior partner. “In this debate, I agree with the prime minister: The time has come for elections.”
“We all see the tensions in Gaza, in the Golan Heights” and in Lebanon, argued Gabbay. “In this atmosphere, the people of Israel need a focused government and not one that is dealing solely with whether or not elections will be held.”
If held on schedule, the next election will be November 2019, but the prime minister has the option of calling for elections before that if he becomes convinced that the current political alignment is not sustainable. As three major investigations proceed into alleged corruption in his government, Netanyahu is perceived as increasingly vulnerable, and the pressure on him to resign or call for elections has been mounting.
Gabbay also said on Monday that would be willing to run as the No. 2 on a list of candidates under Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid, if polls indicate that the latter party would do better against Likud than Zionist Camp.
“Some said I have deviated to the right or to the left, but that’s not true,” he told student activists at Ben Gurion University. “I have said that I will not join a faction with the Joint (Arab) List and also that I won’t evacuate [settlement] blocs.”
“I’m not a product of political advisers,” he said.

UK Politician In Hot Water Over Secret Meetings With Israeli Officials
We Are Change
In this video, Luke Rudkowski of WeAreChange gives you the latest breaking news on Donna Brazile talking about Seth Rich, Donald Trump over feeding fish in a koi pond, the latest secret leaked cables proving a major geopolitical storm ahead for the world and a lot more.
youtube
Meanwhile in the UK, Priti Patel, the Secretary of State for International Development is expected to be sacked imminently, over secret meetings with Israeli officials during a ‘family holiday’ in Israel.
While on holiday, she took the opportunity to meet a number of people and organisations, including a range of politicians, businesses, tech start ups, and humanitarian NGOs. These meetings were an opportunity to learn about the Israeli approach to technology and development.
The FCO (commonly called the Foreign Office) were aware of the visit while it was underway, but were not informed about it in advance.
The Independent remarked that her ‘family holiday’ must have been very busy since:
“…she averaged one meeting a day with politicians from Israel’s Prime Minister down to officials and voluntary organisations. Meetings of which, despite the fact that such a detailed programme must have been planned in advance, she failed to give the Foreign Office, the British Embassy or for that matter her own Prime Minister, any prior notice.”
Why is this so controversial?
The Israeli news organisation Haaretz reports today that when Priti Patel was in Israel, she visited an Israeli military field hospital in the Golan Heights. This was not included in the information she disclosed about her trip on Monday.
Haaretz says in its story:
“Britain’s international development secretary Priti Patel is at the center of a political scandal that has emerged in recent days with information about a series of meetings she had with senior Israeli officials, including prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, without notifying the British embassy in advance. The criticism is set to increase Wednesday as Haaretz found that Patel visited an Israeli military field hospital set up by in the Golan Heights to treat Syrian refugees and victims of the civil war …
Like the rest of the international community, the British government does not recognize Israel’s control of the Golan Heights, captured from Syria in the six-day war in 1967.
The diplomatic protocol is that British ministers and senior officials do not travel in the Golan, as well as the West Bank and East Jerusalem, under the auspices of the Israeli government. Patel’s visit to the Israel defense forces field hospital in the Golan Heights as a guest of the Israeli government during her visit is a clear breach of protocol. Upon her return to London, Patel suggested that Britain help fund the field hospital’s operations.”
It emerged last night Theresa May only learned Ms Patel may have discussed giving money to the Israeli army with officials when it was reported in the media yesterday morning.
Patel heads a department which has a long history of humanitarian and development funding for Palestinians. Indeed she has taken a close interest in that funding, going so far as to announce a review last year which has already resulted in notable cuts of some £17 million.
The Secretary of State for International Development faced accusations she risked making Britain look like it favoured Tel Aviv over Palestine in the fragile Middle East talks.
How did the storey get out?
Reports say it may have been this tweet that let the cat out of the bag. Yair Lapid is the leader of Yesh Atid. During this meeting she said she discussed British politics in general, including the growing anti-Semitism within UK politics.
Great to meet with Priti Patel, UK Secretary of State for International Development, today. A true friend of Israel. pic.twitter.com/8q9qSeX7YZ
— ???? ???? (@yairlapid) August 24, 2017
Reports differ with some saying that UK Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party Theresa May knew about these meeting and others saying they took place without May being aware.
No 10 knew on Aug 24 that Patel had met Bibi. They knew about the Yuval Rotem meeting. Then tried to get Patel to cover it up, again. Utter chaos at the heart of government. May's future also surely now in question…
— Marcus Dysch (@MarcusDysch) November 8, 2017
This morning Ms Patel boarded a plane to return to the UK, cutting short a trip to Uganda.
Priti Patel as seen on a previous flight
Flighttradar24 reports that more than 22,000 users are currently tracking flight #KQ100 en route to London.
If Priti Patel is flying back from Nairobi to London to get sacked, there’s one direct flight which has just taken off. And we can follow live. https://t.co/oAww2v562q
— Jim Waterson (@jimwaterson) November 8, 2017
Even the BBC are streaming her flight path back to London live.
I wonder if Priti Patel has any idea that BBC News are currently streaming her flight path back to London live. pic.twitter.com/YSNuq8CzPP
— Ashley Cowburn (@ashcowburn) November 8, 2017
The BBC reports that Patel has apologised over the undisclosed Israeli meetings:
“Ms Patel, who is a long-standing supporter of Israel and a former vice-chairman of Conservative Friends of Israel defended her actions, saying she had paid for the holiday herself and while in Israel had taken the opportunity to meet “people and organisations” for the purpose of building links between the two countries.”
See Patel’s apology statement here.
Regardless of the apology, there have been calls for her to lose her job over this matter. Shadow Foreign Office Minister Jon Trickett last night wrote to Mrs May suggesting Ms Patel could be guilty of “at least four serious breaches of the Ministerial Code” and called for her to quit.
The Labour Shadow Secretary of State for International Development, Kate Osamor, called for Patel to be fired.
New revelations mean May must sack Patel when she lands. Damage being done to Britain's reputation.

Many have reacted with disgust.

THE PRAYER OF THE LORD
Tumblr media
“Pray like this: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Let us not come into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen’” (New Heart English Bible).
(Located in two passages, the Lord’s Prayer can be found in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:1-4).
Tumblr media
The Lord’s Prayer by James Tissot - Brooklyn Museum (CC BY-SA 3.0, Wikimedia)
I find it interesting that this most familiar prayer of  our Lord Jesus according to Charles Gardner, actually  begins with a plea for Israel’s restoration as a nation-state. He states that in the “very first line of the Lord’s Prayer  it stresses the importance to God of the great sign of our age – the return of the Jews to their ancient land. It is understood that as a ministry, CFI has supported aliyah (immigration to Israel) and have helped hundreds of thousands of immigrants in their first days in their new land.
Dr. Fred Wright says, “Jesus taught His disciples... among other things, the return of the exiles. “Hallowed be thy name” or “may your name be sanctified” in modern versions – is obviously our Lord’s priority. It is pointed out that Ezekiel 36:23-30 and following (in the Hebrew Bible) is headed Kiddush ha Shem (The Sancti-fication of God’s Holy Name).
Jewish exile had been a consequence of rebellion against God but out of concern for His Holy Name, five times the Lord said He would bring them back (verses 24-26). The return of the Jewish people would accelerate the latter days and give us a sign that it is the time of Israel’s Redemption and soon Coming of Messiah (Zechariah 12:10; Romans 11:26; Revelation 1:7). Aliyah is one of the last great signs leading up to the return of the Lord (Matthew 24:32; Luke 21:24).
Let us, as Christians, as we pray the Lord’s Prayer remember that Israel is not a political accident, nor is it an irrelevant political issue to be ignored. Let us give new impetus to the prayer the Lord taught us by agreeing that God’s Name will be sanctified. Please keep our Jerusalem Distribution Center in your prayers as we continue to minister the love of God, the compassion needed as young and old uproot from wherever they are and take the big step of starting over in a new Land. It often is stressful and getting settled in is a real challenge. Thank you to all who support our Distribution Center opened in 1990. (www.christianfriendsofis-rael.com) May we all play a part in the glorification and worship of the One True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, thereby being an answer to the Lord’s prayer.
LET US PRAY IN ONE ACCORD ACROSS THE WORLD
So much is happening all around us in the Middle East, and throughout the world. Prophecy is being fulfilled, demonic warfare has increased, time seems to have accelerated as everyone is on fast-track days, military alerts and briefings being held in the Golan Heights, Iran positioning itself for rapid nuclear break-out, air defense systems on alert in Israel, oil, arms and politics, the quick move into the Middle East by Russia in Syria, Lebanon on the verge of collapse, a leadership problem in Israel – while celebrations are held for 28,000 new immigrants in this past year of 2019.
Pray wholeheartedly for the Prime Minister’s son, Yair Netanyahu who (from reports in the local news) claims he receives daily death threats. May Yair trust in the Lord. “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man” (Psalm 118:8, KJV).
Believe the Lord’s Promises in the song sung by Jewish people for over a century: the Israeli National Anthem.  It is a powerful response to the Word of God. It was published in 1886 and the anthem expresses Jewish aspirations for a sovereign state in Eretz Israel. As Prime Minister Netanyahu said, Iran has the capability to strike Israel and the Israeli Air Force prepares for attacks from Iran. The “hope” expressed in the National Anthem inspires faith to rise up in our hearts that God will perform His Word to His Chosen People. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, KJV).
Pray for Israel’s neighbor to the north, which is now gripped by a popular uprising that many fear could lead to civil war. “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet” (Matthew 24:6, KJV).
Believe the Lord’s Promises that in spite of many troubles which Israel faces that He promised to bring the Jewish people back to their homeland. It happens every day before our eyes. “Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely” (Jeremiah 32:37, NIV).
Read together the Lord’s Prayer (found in the above two passages). Proclaim sanctification of the One True God’s Name throughout the entire world. “For full is the earth of the knowledge of the honour of Jehovah, As waters cover the bottom of a sea” (Habakkuk 2:14, Young’s Literal Translation).
For all who so faithfully pray, from the United Kingdom, across Europe, to the United States, the Far East, Africa, China and Mexico and all nations who receive these Prayer Letters from CFI in Jerusalem, we bless you as you so loyally, and devotedly, stand at your posts praying down Heaven’s Blessings for Israel while she continues to stand as a beacon of light in this part of the world. May we weep with those who weep, bless those who persecute, pray for eyes to be opened to the truth of God’s Word and redemption, and work alongside God to pray through, until His Redemption comes. We bless you from CFI in Jerusalem as you carry out your task of prevailing prayer.
In His Service Together, Sharon Sanders Christian Friends of Israel - Jerusalem

After Verdict, Israeli Military at Odds With Politicians
AP, Jan. 5, 2017
JERUSALEM--The Israeli military, which has battled foes on all of the country’s borders, is now facing a challenge from within: nationalist politicians who are openly disagreeing with army commanders and bickering with the security establishment.
This growing rift was underscored by angry reactions from inside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition to Wednesday’s manslaughter conviction of an Israeli soldier who fatally shot an already wounded Palestinian attacker. Netanyahu and other senior Cabinet ministers quickly called for Sgt. Elor Azaria to be pardoned, in effect undercutting the authority of the military court that convicted him.
The swift reactions, coming before Azaria has even been sentenced or filed an appeal, were the latest in a series of squabbles between Israel’s hard-line leadership and military commanders. It is uncharted waters for the military, which has traditionally seen itself as being above politics and is widely regarded as the country’s most trusted institution.
But it also reflects a wider and increasingly visible schism. In a country that seems to grow more divided by the day, the security establishment is at loggerheads with the Netanyahu government and its nationalist base of supporters.
“I think we are witnessing a very dangerous phenomenon where the division in Israeli society is trickling into the army,” retired Maj. Gen. Gadi Shamni, who held some of the military’s most senior posts, told Israel Radio. “This is a very severe trend that is being exacerbated by irresponsible, unrelenting politicians.”
On one level, this is about relations with the Palestinians and what to do with the West Bank and its more than 2 million occupied Palestinians.
Netanyahu’s coalition seems content to maintain this indefinitely, despite warnings it is leading to a binational state and constant friction with the Palestinians, Western allies and the Arab world. If anything, the incoming administration of Donald Trump seems to be emboldening Israel’s hard-liners, who believe he will be much more tolerant of their policies and continued settlement of occupied lands.
But the debate is also about the nature of the country. Military commanders still tend to reflect Israel’s founding class--mostly secular, pragmatic Zionists who believed that they could ultimately build a model society in which equal rights and the rule of law prevailed.
In recent years, this part of Israel has been on the defensive. To a degree, Netanyahu’s Likud Party and its allies represent another side of the country: one that is more religious, deeply conservative, supportive of the West Bank settler movement and committed to democracy and liberal values in a far more tenuous way.
The coalition has tried to block the court-ordered evacuation of an illegal West Bank settlement outpost built on private Palestinian land. It has pushed legislation to retroactively legalize dozens of similar outposts. It has imposed regulations on dovish advocacy groups. And Culture Minister Miri Regev, a Netanyahu ally, has threatened to cut funds to theaters that refuse to perform in West Bank settlements.
“The settler leadership wants to fashion the military anew as part of its plan to impose its religious-political vision on all of Israel ... to reject the founding principles upon which Israel was established and to replace them with a reactionary and messianic vision,” wrote Liat Schlesinger, executive director of Molad, a leftist think tank.
Azaria was tried after a human rights worker filmed him in March fatally shooting a badly wounded Palestinian assailant in the West Bank city of Hebron. The assailant had already been shot after stabbing an Israeli soldier and was lying on the ground.
Lt. Gen. Gadi Eizenkot, the head of the military, was among the first to condemn Azaria, saying his actions ran counter to its ethics and values.
But instead of getting support from political leaders, the army’s decision to prosecute was called into question. Hard-line politicians, led by Education Minister Naftali Bennett, accused the army of abandoning a soldier on the battlefield. After initially defending the army, Netanyahu changed tack, even calling Azaria’s parents to offer support.
The dispute helped lead to the removal of Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, a former army chief who had backed his commanders. Avigdor Lieberman, a hard-liner who visited Azaria in court, subsequently became the defense chief.
Netanyahu, Bennett and others quickly called for a pardon of Azaria.
Eizenkot, meanwhile, was excoriated on social media in ways that would have been unthinkable a few years ago. A small crowd of extremists demonstrating outside military headquarters called for his assassination. Bodyguards were assigned to the judges who convicted Azaria, media reported.
Opinion polls in Israeli media showed 70 percent of the Jewish public supports a pardon.
“How populist can our politicians be?” columnist Sima Kadmon wrote in the Yediot Ahronot newspaper. “They say with one side of their mouths that they respect the court and demand with the other something that negates, cancels and disparages the verdict.”
This trend has been in the making for years. One of the first signs was a 2012 documentary called “The Gatekeepers,” in which all six then-living former chiefs of the Shin Bet internal security agency agreed the occupation of the West Bank is not sustainable.
Last year, the deputy military chief, Maj. Gen. Yair Golan, sparked controversy by appearing to compare the nationalist stirrings in Israel to 1930s Germany. Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak, an ex-military chief, accuses the government of planting “seeds of fascism.”
Meir Elran, who heads the program on the military and Israeli society at the Institute for National Security Studies, said the rift is “quite serious.” He said that politicians were undercutting the authority of the chief of staff, and they could raise questions among troops on how to handle certain situations in the field.
“The military enjoys traditionally a very high rate of support of the overall public,” said Elran, a retired brigadier general. “We do not want that to be diminished, and degraded.”
