Island Assistant Noah AU, Noah stays Chris' Assistant all throughout Island + Action + World Tour... How would this version of Assistant Noah react to Alejandro's flirting?... Would Alejandro be amused, when he later learns that Noah got himself eliminated ON PURPOSE in Season 1, and Noah became 'Chris Mclean's Assistant' as a punishment? 😎
Well, honestly I imagine most versions of Noah would react to flirting with the same level of scepticism and mistrust- he's not exactly a catch, and he's aware of the fact. Having someone as conventionally attractive and evidently conniving as Alejandro display interest in someone as not those things as Noah is would be a major warning flag for anyone with any semblance of sense.
Of course, Alejandro's interest was initially a ploy to try and weasel out information from Chris' personal assistant- someone who's high enough in the pecking order of internship to at least have some rudimentary knowledge on the oncoming challenges, but unimportant enough to fly under the radar when it comes to helping the competitors- but after Noah's initial refusal, Alejandro finds himself genuinely interested in him, at least in the same curious way a scientist regards an outlying factor in their studies. Mostly because Alejandro's very much so not used to being spurned, so Noah's blatant dislike of him is enough to fuel his curiosity (similarly to how Heather's hostility to him piqued Alejandro's interest in canon).
So he goes out of his way to bother Noah at any given opportunity. Not that it's hard; due to Noah's job he's practically always somewhere on the jet, since it'd be pretty hard to, you know, personally assist someone without being in their vicinity. Noah's disgruntlement with the constant flirting isn't quite enough to warrant him putting in the effort to avoid Alejandro, however, so the two of them consequently end up spending a lot of time together. Most of which is Alejandro trying and failing to fluster Noah, or otherwise pry competition-valuable information from him. Or, as their conversations become more frequent, he tries to get Noah to disclose something about himself that isn't already apparent- to very little success. Alejandro does find out that Noah's oddly touchy about his position as Chris' PA, though, and stores away that little tid bit of information to exploit later.
Alejandro inevitably finds himself almost enamoured by Noah's caginess and his dry wit. He's surprised to find that he actually enjoys Noah's company, even when it doesn't offer him any of the advantages he initially sought out the assistant for, which is such a novel concept for him. So of course he resolves to spend more time around Noah, to try and figure out what this feeling is, and if it'll affect his stance in the competition- not at all because he wants to spend more time around the cynic, obviously.
And he inevitably becomes more and more comfortable around Noah's stoic bluntness, so much so that he starts showing hints of his true colours around Noah. To the point where the bookworm's initial distaste for Alejandro begins to thaw under the warmth of his actual personality, instead of the coldness of his "perfect Burromuerto" mask. (This is the part where mutual feelings begin to blossom, if you couldn't tell.)
Alejandro ends up spending more time with the off-screen assistant than he does with the entirety of his actual team, which grates on the producer's nerves since they don't have a lot of non-challenge footage of their main antagonist (outside of his frequent use of the confessional, that is). So, he's asked to spend less time around Know-it-all Noah and more time around his actual team, so they have some footage to work with, as Noah's PA contract prevents them from using "unnecessary footage" of him on the show; since he doesn't interact with anyone during challenges or plot-relevant moments, the editors are practically forbidden from using any of the footage Noah is in. Alejandro reluctantly complies.
And it's during this enforced bonding time with his team that the topic of Noah comes up. Owen's the one who initially comments about Alejandro spending a lot of him with his "little buddy", which absolutely doesn't (does) spark an ember of possessive jealousy within Alejandro, prompting him to ask how Owen's so familiar with Noah if he's not even supposed to interact with the contestants. Owen reveals that Noah was a contestant, at least for a little bit, before he was eliminated early in Island.
Alejandro's interest in Noah and the mysteries around him skyrockets. As a former contestant and, apparently, someone who's familiar with pretty much all of his competitors, Noah has even more potential to supply him with valuable information that would assist him in winning the million. He later chases down the cynic and confronts him about his extremely limited time on the Island, to which Noah is initially evasive about, before he- in a ticked off outburst, since Alejandro just won't drop the subject- admits that he got himself eliminated on purpose and working as Chris' PA is pretty much just his punishment for doing so.
And Alejandro's curiosity turns into confusion. Why would Noah intentionally have himself eliminated from the competition when a million dollars is on the line? Noah quickly corrects him that, in the first season, the prize money was a measly 100k, and then proceeds to explain exactly why and how he got himself booted from Camp Wawanakwa- Alejandro watches the annoyance on Noah's face gradually soften out into a smug sort of pride as he recalls his past endeavours. Then that pride is quickly wiped away by a bitter sourness as Noah recounts how his stunt essentially trapped him under the employment of Total Drama, namely Chris McLean.
But Alejandro's still caught up in the glimpse he got of Noah's scheming potential. The glee he saw in the other's eyes as he explained how easy it was to rile up his former teammates enough to vote him from the island, how just a few carefully worded comments were all it took to grant Noah an extended vacation at a five star resort.
Dots are connected; Alejandro suddenly understands why Noah's so resistant to his manipulative efforts, why Noah always seemed to clock exactly what he was attempting to do and shut it down with cold indifference or a snarky comment. The pessimist before him was his equal, at least in terms of strategy. Though how he applied his trickster mindset was a little unconventional. The archvillain is more than intrigued by now, he's utterly smitten... with the idea of having Noah as his "right hand man". Nothing more.
Alejandro's left to wonder just how much more he could accomplish within the confines of the jet if he had Noah's brilliant mind assisting him in his schemes.

Auburn was pretty durn good on special teams in 2018 and have a chance to be elite in 2019.
SEC Media Days has come and gone. Auburn starts fall camp at the end of next week. Preseason watch lists are dropping daily. Hot takes are hotter than ever from the talking heads. The weather is teasing us with late September, early October temperatures. It’s almost here folks. Auburn football is coming.
But we must wait a tad longer before kickoff so it’s important we pass the time productively. So starting today, the wise scribes here at C&M will take an in depth look at each position for the 2019 version of the Auburn Tigers. Today, it’s the often overlooked component of a football team but one that is vitally important to any successful season - special teams.
Departures
Ryan Davis - 22 punt returns 117 yds 9.9 avg
Ian Shannon - Holder
Returners
Anders Carlson (rSophomore) - 15/25 FG (60%) 44/44 XP (100%)
Arryn Siposs (Junior) - 56 punts 2,476 yds 44.2 avg
Noah Igbinoghene (Junior) - 11 kick returns 311 yds 28.3 avg TD
Jordyn Peters (Junior) - 2 punt returns 39 yds 19.5 avg
JaTarvious Whitlow (rSophomore) - 3 kick returns 80 yds 26.7 avg
Christian Tutt (Sophomore) - 5 punt returns 65 yds 13 avg
Bill Taylor (Sophomore) - Long snapper
Newcomers
Strength - Experience
There were a bunch of new faces on Auburn’s special teams unit last season. Arguably the greatest kicker in Auburn history was gone as was his holder and long snapper. The Tigers also had to replace punt returner Stephen Roberts and were breaking in a new punter who had never actually played a game of American football in his life. Something that made itself evident early in the season.
I'm 100% certain that for a split second Arryn Siposs forgot what sport he was playing lol pic.twitter.com/yK3JV5k6z4
— AUNerd (@AUSportsNerd) October 10, 2018
Despite all the turnover, the results were encouraging. The Tigers finished 43rd overall in special teams per S&P+ but were top 5 in punt efficiency and kickoff efficiency, 16th in punt return efficiency and 39th in kick return efficiency. Almost all of those pieces return in 2019. Australian import Arryn Siposs got better and better as the season went on and has a chance to become the best punter in the SEC in 2019. Anders Carlson was money from inside 50 going 12/15 in his debut season. Noah Igbinoghene averaged 5 more yards a return last season and even found paydirt for the first time in his career as a kick returner.
But most exciting about last year’s special teams unit was its ability to block both field goals and punts. Marlon Davidson pulled off the rare feat of blocking a field goal in three straight games while Jordyn Peters became a punt block specialist, finishing 2nd in the nation last year with three punt blocks, one going for a touchdown against Arkansas. Auburn will have to find a new punt returner and will have a new man holding kicks, but the majority of this special teams unit returns in 2019 and has a chance to become one of the best in the country.
Great job by Davidson getting skinny in the hole to slide through and make the block Dude played one of his best games Saturday until his injury pic.twitter.com/xrDet88kxi

Weakness - Long Field Goals
Good news, the biggest weakness Auburn had last season is avoidable if the coaching staff just elects to play the field position game behind their great defense and not attempt 50+ yard field goals. Bad news, they decided not to do that time and time again last year....
I tweeted this stat last season but I feel like it’s important to address again. Before last year, Auburn’s five previous kickers attempted a grand total of 1 field goal from 50+ yards in their first season as starter. That one attempt came from Daniel Carlson. Anders Carlson? He attempted NINE field goals from that distance as a redshirt freshman, only hitting two of them. Anders absolutely has the power to hit from that deep but it was clear the accuracy had not yet developed but Auburn’s braintrust asked him to do it again and again despite having a good punter and a very good defense. It was maddening...
Hopefully, Auburn both won’t need Anders to hit so many field goals from that deep in 2019 and his accuracy from deep improves in those hopefully limited tries. It’s clear he’s got the tools to be another elite kicker for the Tigers over the next three years but that’s going to mean some patience from the coaching staff as well.
Prediction
My guess is Christian Tutt takes over as Auburn’s punt returner though there are a plethora of great options in guys like Javaris Davis and Matthew Hill. Iggy will undoubtedly continue to be the top guy on kick returns but I would look for Shaun Shivers and Anthony Schwartz to get more looks back there too. I listed Mark-Antony Richards and Ja’Varrius Johnson as two freshman who could have a chance to make an impact in the return game as well though I think it’s unlikely either see many meaningful reps back there next season.
Auburn’s special teams unit was really good last year and could be even better in 2019. While it will be hard to replicate the success they had in blocking punts and kicks, they will at least keep opposing coaches up late sweating over that aspect of the game plan given the proven success Auburn has had at both in recent seasons. I am really excited to see Siposs and Carlson’s respective developments and whether Iggy can break another 1-2 more returns off in 2019.

SO IT WAS that one of the most dotty and influential documents in the entire history of the colonial complex came to be written. This was a piece called ‘The International Style’, by Henry-Russell Hitchcock and Philip Johnson, the twenty-six-year-old son of a wealthy Cleveland lawyer. The boy had given the Museum of Modern Art the money to found an architecture division, which he then headed. Hitchcock and Johnson wrote ‘The International Style’ for the catalogue of the museum’s 1932 show of photographs and models aimed at introducing the work of Gropius et alii to New York. The term ‘International Style’ was taken from the title of a book Gropius had published seven years before, *International Architecture’.
...’The International Style’ was literature of the higher order. It shone... The two men were baying at a silvery, princely moon.

Like Jorge Luis Borges and Gabriel García Márquez, Italo Calvino dreams perfect dreams for us; the fantasy of these three Latins ranges beyond the egoism that truncates and anguishingly turns inward the fables of Kafka and that limits the kaleidoscopic visions of Nabokov. Of the three, Calvino is the sunniest, the most variously and benignly curious about the human truth as to comes embedded in its animal, vegetable, historical, and cosmic contexts; all his investigations spiral in upon the central question of How shall we live? In Invisible Cities he has produced a consummate book, both crystalline and limpid, adamant and airy, playful yet ‘worked’ with a monkish care.

So little evidence has emerged of Indians fertilizing with fish that some archaeologists believe that Tisquantum actually picked up the idea from European farmers. The notion is not as ridiculous as it may seem. Tisquantum had learned English because British sailors had kidnapped him seven years before. To return to the Americas, he in effect had to escape twice – once from Spain, where his captors initially sold him into slavery, and once from England, to which he was smuggled from Spain, and where he served as a kind of living conversation piece at a rich man’s house. In his travels, Tisquantum stayed in places where Europeans used fish as fertilizer, a practice on the Continent since medieval times.

I had heard that parts of it were good... it is actually not any good – pretentious, inartistic, unimaginative, and three hours long. SYMPHORICARPOS: Hardy shrubs of the honeysuckle family, mostly natives of China. Leaves opposite, usually entire, flowers inconspicuous, bell-shaped or tubular, occurring in small clusters. Fruits pairs or clusters of berries, for which the shrubs are usually planted. Easily grown in almost any soil, and will thrive in part shade, or even in urban areas. Most widely grown species is the snowberry (Symphoricarpos albus).
Indian currant or coralberry (S. orbiculatus), is also a popular species, grown for its reddish-purple fruit and for its attractive crimson autumn foliage. It grows to five to seven feet, and is hardy even in cities, and as far north as New Jersey to South Dakota. More hardy northward id wolfberry (S. occidentalis), a stiffer five-foot bush with pinkish flowers and white berries. Most handsome fruit is that of S. chenaultii, a hybrid with white dotted red berries.

Jarrett Stidham & Coach Lindsey reflecting after Auburn's victory over Georgia Southern.  photo by Julie Bennett
After the first game of the season against Georgia Southern we attempted to look objectively at the performance of Auburn's QB Jarrett Stidham. Fair or not, the hype that had proceeded Stidham's first game as an Auburn Tiger demanded a critical look.  Now that Auburn is 8 games into the 2017 season, and resting on their bye week laurels, it's time we look again at Stidham, and the entire Auburn offense. So, here goes.  In our first assessment two key points were made. "At least three passes were dropped, one for an easy TD. Some of his passes were behind the receivers in route. That's a timing issue, that should get better as the season progresses." "Still, there was a lot to like when looking at the overall passing performance. Stidham was mobile, and made some key throws while moving around inside the pocket, as well as when he rambled outside his protection." With those points in mind, let's take a look statistically where Stidham has come in his progress.  Jarrett has a completion percentage of *65.8% on 193 attempts & 127 completions. * touchdowns, 3 interceptions, with a 151.58 passer rating.  Obviously, there has been improvement in his choices of where to throw the ball, and a higher percentage of passes being caught by his receivers.  Speaking of those receivers, this group has made the biggest improvement from game one up until now, of any on the offensive side of the ball. Downfield blocking is critical in any offense, and that is where I see the most development by this group. Coach Lindsey stated in his presser this week: "Those guys as a group have played better. Much better actually." "I think the future is really bright for them." While catching the ball is only a small part of a WR's life, the above chart really displays how much Coach Lindsey likes to spread the ball around, and how the WR's are taking advantage of their opportunities.  In our next post we will look at the offensive line, and our dynamic running back duo that seems healthy at just the right time. Soon, all of the 2017 class will be officially enrolled and on campus so here’s a quick look back at Auburn’s offensive 2017 signing class.
With Anders Carlson and Carlito Gonzalez expected to enroll soon at Auburn, all of the 2017 class will have arrived on campus. Once again, Gus Malzhan's staff did an excellent job of getting most of the class enrolled. The only signee who will not enroll and will be taking the Junior College route is 4* RB Alaric Williams.
Now that the 2017 class is officially apart of the program, let's take a quick look back at who on the offensive side of the ball signed with Auburn this past February.
#70 | 5* OT Calvin Ashley | #70 | 6'6" | 350 lbs | Orlando, FL
You will hear a lot of Greg Robinson comparisons when it comes to Ashley and I think it's somewhat fair. I would argue that Robinson was probably a better athlete but you see a lot of the same things on tape with Ashley as you did with Robinson. A massive human being who moves way too quickly for his size with unbelievable raw power and a nasty run blocker. Like Robinson, his pass blocking will need polish but there's no doubt in my mind that Ashley will be holding down one of the OT spots no later than 2018, possibly sooner. My bet is in 2017 he will be Auburn's 6th OL in unbalanced packages similar to Braden Smith in 2014, Robert Leff in 2015-16 & Mike Horton in 2017.
#8 | 4* QB Jarrett Stidham | 6'3" | 214 lbs | Stephenville, TX
As the 2016 season went on, it became clear that Stidham was a must sign for Gus Malzahn. Auburn has struggled to find consistency at the QB spot and landing the former 5* Baylor QB gives Auburn some stability. He is still technically in a QB battle with Sean White but it would be a shock if anyone other than Stidham took the first snap against Georgia Southern.
#6 | 4* RB Devan Barrett | 6’0” | 185 lbs | Tampa, FL
Barrett was my Master Teague of last cycle. A guy that wasn’t super highly rated (at the time) that I thought looked like an elite player and a perfect fit for Auburn’s system. Unlike Teague, the Tigers were able to haul in the Tampa native. Tre Mason is the name you hear a lot when comparing Barrett and it makes a lot of sense. Barrett lacks elite open field speed but has incredible quickness, great vision and runs tough in traffic. I would not be shocked if he ended up Auburn’s #3 RB this year though he might need a season in the weight room. Either way, I have high hopes for Barrett in an Auburn jersey.
#52 | 4* OG Nick Brahms | 6’3” | 276 lbs | Navarre, FL
Brahms enrolled early but was unable to practice due to injury. More than likely he will be redshirted this season as the Tigers have plenty of depth in the interior. However, I fully expect him to compete for a starting spot in 2018 possibly at center with Kaleb Kim.
#68 | 4* OT Austin Troxell | 6’6” | 292 lbs | Gurley, AL
Madison Academy has been very kind to Auburn in recent years. First there was Kerryon Johnson. Then Malik Miller. Now the big man that was helping pave the way for those two has arrived. Troxell suffered two ACL injuries his last two high school seasons but should be good to go when he gets on campus. More than likely he will end up with a redshirt given Auburn’s depth up front but he’s a name that you are going to hear a lot in the coming seasons. If he can stay healthy, I think he’s a perfect bookend with Calvin Ashley in the future.
#19 | 4* WR Noah Igbinoghene | 5’11” | 186 lbs | Trussville, AL
Speed is the first thing that jumps out when watching Igbinoghene’s highlights. The highlight I included shows that along with his high effort when he runs down a should be defensive TD despite the defender having a 10 yard head start. He’s a smooth router runner with solid hands that could also see time as a speed sweep guy. With Auburn’s looking loaded at WR in 2017, he might not get many opportunities this season but is a guy that could become a factor in the WR rotation down the road.
#80 | 3* TE Sal Cannella | 6’5” | 228 | Schaumburg, IL
Auburn made a late push at the Junior College signing day deadline to steal Cannella away from Maryland and fellow late pursuer Texas. Lindsey prefers more multiple guys at the TE spot that he can line up all over the field and Cannella could be that type of player. He needs to improve as a run blocker to get on the field over Jalen Harris or Chandler Cox but he has elite hands and could be a redzone weapon in 2017.
#14 | 3* QB Malik Willis | 6’1” | 202 lbs | Atlanta, GA
The biggest surprise of spring practice might have been Malik Willis, who proved that Auburn’s late offer in January was a smart decision. He’s probably the fastest guy at the QB spot right now but displayed surprising arm ability as well. More than likely Auburn will try and redshirt the Georgia native this year but with only three true quarterbacks now on roster that might not prove possible.
#28 | 3* ATH JaTarvious Whitlow | 6’0” | 216 lbs | LaFayette, AL
Looking at Whitlow’s tape, it’s real hard to see how he was only a 3* athlete that was about to sign with Tulane before Auburn’s late offer on National Signing Day. He threw for 2292 yds and 29 TDs while also rushing for 2147 yds and 30 TDs. He will start out at wide receiver for Auburn but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if ended up at running back or defensive back. Either way, don’t be shocked if Whitlow finds a way onto the field in 2017.
3* K Anders Carlson | 6’3” | 185 | Pike National Forest, CO
Kicker has been a position of stability for Auburn for quite awhile now. Daniel Carlson will probably leave Auburn as the best ever and leave some massive shoes to fill. Why not his little brother try and fill them? Some think Anders is further along as a kicker than Daniel was at this time but he will need to prove he can do it on the big stage like his brother. But chances are really good that kicker will continue to be a position of strength in the future.
#47 | 3* TE John Samuel Shenker | 6’3” | 235 lbs | Albany, GA
Shenker is the prototype for what type of player Lindsey is looking to recruit at the tight end position. The former Auburn baseball commit landed a late Auburn offer not long after Chip Lindsey landed at the Plains. He’s got a great combo of size, speed and hands to be a player at the tight end position.
