it’s so tragic really like you kiss him and then make a pact with him because you need it to return home and he doesn’t even know that he’s helping you leave him. and if you do choose to stay? you’ll still be abandoning him. whichever option you choose he gets left behind. yet you kiss him anyway

@yesfreddynerdie replied to your post “welp, this week’s Sherlock! :-S First episode in a long time that I’ve...”
Please do share with us your impressions about this week's episode. :D
Okay, things I liked:
Mrs ‘Bitch This Ain’t My First Rodeo’ Hudson, obviously
John’s hair
6th Sense (the 6th sense is ‘Common’) Mary (what is it about being dead that instantly makes a character less annoying??)
The Letter deduction / Spelling Walkabout / Chips
The infuriating doorbell/comedy ding-dong deductions
BAMF!John giving Sherlock a pummelling; hard to watch but great TV (and Freeman was convincingly brutal about it, despite being a tiny wee fellow)
Adult characters actually talking it out??? Like adults?????
John’s Correct Deduction
John owning up to shit
That nice hug
Why is it so pleasing when they swear (give Mrs Hudson an F-bomb, FFS!)
Things I fucking instantly deduced:
What the hospital was (mention H H Holmes more why dontcha)
What the cane was
I’m sure there were more but those were the ones I remember (my mother kept reaching over the back of the sofa and slapping me because I was saying them out loud and ruining it for her :-// Sorry mum.)
Things I am annoyed about:
Uh I think you’ll find Sherlock makes John want to be the man Sherlock thinks he is, not just Mary
That I deduced the Twist a long time ago but forgot/didn’t think it would be the point of this episode (‘Sherlock is actually a girl’s name’ yeah you weren’t exactly subtle there folks)
But I didn’t deduce that the Twist was also the Therapist but should have done because 1) unlike her I didn’t have my glasses on/wasn’t sitting sufficiently close to the TV (tbh when Real!Faith popped up I couldn’t tell that they weren’t the same actress, I am not good with faces it’s actually a bit distressing), 2) I immediately dismissed Therapist’s odd accent as some kind of internalised snobbery I thought I was having a kneejerk dislike of her due to missing John’s proper therapist, 3) I didn’t think Daisy could’ve been her because I didn’t think John would fail to recognise a woman he’d actually been involved with. :-// 4) also didn’t think Sherlock would fail to recognise his own kith and kin 5) I expected them to cast someone who looked like Berberder Cerberder although in retropect they couldn’t have done because no one looks like Berberbder Cerberder.
if John doesn’t really blame Sherlock why did he allow Sherlock to think he did? (At the end I expected John to admit that he just needed someone to blame and having someone to be angry with was actually cathartic for him... but he didn’t). Bit of a dick move.
Stop trying to make everyone heterosexual, Mycroft ‘The Ice Man’ is not going to suddenly have a Fuckbuddy??? for gawd’s sake! I don’t even ship anyone on this show and it felt awkward!
Why would you keep a body in your house it would start to smell
Even if he didn’t recognise her as The Other or Faith (which, big if) how did Sherlock not realise that the Therapist he saw wasn’t the same woman as in the pictures of the real therapist, which must exist on the internet?? In this day and age?? (Or was she counting on the fact that by the time Sherlock met her in person, both as Faith and as Therapist, he’d be so wasted he wasn’t capable of making proper deductions, only of following the clues she wanted him to follow???)
Things I am relieved about:
HRH The Queen isn’t actually a serial killer.
*And apologies to Toby Jones, you’re a cracking actor you always do a good job but you’re just not scary enough to play a villain -- you’re a Zola not a Redskull, my lil buddy.
