6/24/Molly sniff
I was sick for a good deal of today so I didn't manage to get 100% out of my last day here, but this evening I was doing alright, so after a visit to the dentist we went out for curry beef noodles. Then headed back to Ximen to try out another game center (playing MEG songs on jubeat again and played DDR for the first time in ages) and bought a couple of shirts at street stalls.
Spent the last hour packing and listening to Humming Urban Stereo while finishing off the last pudding in the fridge.
Don't wanna go back home ;___; can everyone come here instead please??

6/23/Molly Log
Houtong today was amazing. It takes two trains to get there, and a considerable stint of sleepiness, but they're not lying when they call it "cat village". It used to be an old mining town, but over the past ten years or so the local cat population has grown so much that it began to be famous for it, and now it's a tourist destination. Arriving in the station, there's platforms for the cats to walk around on the walls, and cat houses here and there along the roads. There were around 4 cats just taking the cross-over bridge to get to the main square.
The town is built onto a mountain next to a fairly bubbly river, so the scenery is pretty amazing, but more so than that is just the sheer amount of cats. If you see a box, there's a cat in it. A pot, there's a cat next to it. Same goes for doorways. tables. food stalls. chairs. a dusty road. a brick wall. the cats are sleeping on everything. I think I must have seen over 70 unique cats, and I didn't even walk the full village.
After heading back to Taipei, we had pork cutlets for dinner (boss), and then went to an arcade in Ximen, which you might call the Harajuku of Taipei in that it has a lot of cheap clothes and food and is a bit of a teen hangout. I busted up my hand playing Taiko no Tatsujin (Tsukema Tsukeru!) and tried Jubeat for the first time (MEG and more Kyary songs even. amaze.) I always forget how fun it is to just binge play rhythm games.
Where's the replay button for today?

Taipei mystery: when the garbage truck comes by, it plays a little medley to let you know you can drop your bags off, but the song manages to permeate all solid materials, even on the 8th floor.....
