TRUE CRIME YOUTUBE RECOMMENDATIONS
SOME VIDEOS
https://youtu.be/xQJYEB-E4e8 - Kids Behind Bars. 46 minute documentary focusing in on the lives of four teenagers with extensive sentences and their lives/cases.
https://youtu.be/8EdvTQtx9I4 - 2017 Prison Documentary, Lockdown: San Antonio Gang War. 1+ hour focusing on two rival gangs, how they function, the problems they have with each other and allowing ex members to speak on their experiences.
https://youtu.be/2D3qf_Vc7zM - The Seg (full documentary). 50 minute documentary on solitary confinement and how it affects inmates and prison guards in many ways. (Warning this one is for sure more graphic than a lot of the other ones. You will see a lot of blood and there’s mentions and attempts of suicide)
https://youtu.be/wkbI4EcOs9U - Death Row - The Final 24 hours. 42 minute documentary walking through the process and methods of the death penalty and doing reinactments of executions.
https://youtu.be/pOY7V8jJUPI - The New Ted Bundy Documentary. 1 hour 30 minute documentary about the crimes of Ted Bundy, including people who worked with him personally speaking on their experiences.
SOME CHANNELS
Dr Grande - a lisenced mental health professional who talks about not only illnesses that are heavily misrepresented like sociopathy and such but also crime and how mental health ties into it.
Serial Killer Documentaries - pretty straight forward, a channel dedicated to uploading information about various killers.
Christina Randall - an ex-convict who shares stories about her prison experiences and life story.
Ask a Mortician - a mortician who talks about the embalming a funeral prep process and also information on criminal cases, famous corpses and more.
ADDED NOTE
There are so many wonderful documentaries on YouTube, one I just found was from a channel called “Real Stories” and the interviewer was so kind and calm throughout talking with the inmates. I’ll definitely be uploading similar posts soon.
