Love me like the autumn,
I'll fall like the leaves.
Hold me like a summer night,
And I'll dissipate like a dream.
Kiss me like my demons do,
Deadly but sweet,
For, I, am a woman,
High on my Bane.
Bury me with your cologne,
Your voice, Your words, Are enough my love,
I need no gravestone.
Cause when you laugh, And when you cry,
Cause when you Grieve, And when you glee,
The emotions You conceal,
Gee, Lord, You'll be the death of me.

Book one of The Twisted series, 'Twisted Love' by Ana Huang :
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When I heard it's a 'Brother's Bestfriend, Grumpy X sunshine' trope and saw it becoming popular on booktok, I immediately dived in it. What I didn't think about was the disappointment it'd give me.
It wasn't eye catching or 'suddenly hooks you in the start' type of book, So I had to pause reading for a few days, but to my opinion, it still didn't progress any better.
Don't get me wrong. The plot was interesting, exciting, even. The Brother's Bestfriend you were on bad terms with suddenly starts taking care of you. 'Hates everyone but you' kind of MC. Deep Secrets lurking behind Gentle Faces. Had a thrill. And the plot twists surprised me tho it was also kind of obvious. It was also a two - pov book. Better.
What I didn't like were the characters. It seemed they had no depth, or 'realness' to them. Also, the MC was such an asshole. Morally Gray, But, it doesn't have to be 'this' type of gray, right? Possesive, Arrogant, Controlling, Dominating, Toxic, 'Thinks for you without asking your opinion' Type of character. The characters's personalities were just based on their trauma, it seemed as if there was nothing else to them if not their 'bad experiences'. The Smut scenes were SO cringe. Had me crying from the second hand embarrassment. (Now, if that's because I'm a virgin myself or just normal human reaction, i don't know)
In Conclusion, It wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. Just your typical 300 paged romance book, which left no strong impressions. As for the other things, Everyone has their own opinions so it's better to take a look yourselves to determine how it was. Better check the TWs before starting.

Why are you spacing out while looking at me? When I first saw your face clearly, you were as pretty as you are today. Do you still remember the first time you saw me? Of course. It was the lantern festival. You were looking at lanterns. I was looking at you. You were looking at me for so long. Why didn’t you approach me? Because I had something I had yet to achieve and I was not ready to propose to you yet. You only saw me once. Isn’t it too early for a propsal? Once…. Once was enough.

'To kill a kingdom' by Alexandra Christo.

What a beautifully written book!
A part of me wants another sequel while a part of me is happy that it's a standalone.
Since, it tells the story through two povs, it's easier to understand and interesting to read both the protagonists's thoughts.
It's that perfect :
'I'll find you and kill you' to
'oh we're so alike' to
'no one can hurt you except me' to
'i'll protect you with everything I can' to
'looks like I love you' to
'he'll kill me if he knows who I am' to
'couples who fight together, stay together' Trope!
The characters are beautifully written and the plot twists are cool. Some predictable, some not. The perfect Enemies to lovers standalone. Although it's said that it's based on 'the little mermaid' but it's actually not? It's way better than that, and completely takes you to another world of Sea, Ships, Pirates, Sirens, Kingdoms, Princes, Princesses, friendship, humanity, and ofcourse, Love!
Don't miss on this masterpiece.

Recently I finished watching this Kdrama that I've been putting off for quite a few months. It turned out to be the exact opposite of what i expected. It's not some series with stupid zombies chasing humans and getting killed by them. It explained and portrayed the feelings of a zombie, lonely, sad, hurt, but until the very end he didn't give up on becoming a human. Sometimes I really wonder why is Humanity called 'Humanity', For, even animals and monsters appear more humane than us, humans. How would you feel, if one day you woke up in a faraway garbage dump, with no memories, realising that you're no longer a human, and can't even walk, talk, speak, or eat? And most disgusting of it all, you crave human flesh. That's exactly what happened to this Mister Zombie. But he persisted to become human, once again, found out his past, and uncovered the secrets of his very existence. Together with our Miss News script writer, they unravel secrets and go on investigations together, as detectives! I personally loved the ost - BE OK. From using BB Cream to cover his decayed face, Doing cardio to improve his walking state and eating raw chicken to avoid eating human beings, he will do anything to protect his last bits of humanity. This drama presents you with a big Rollercoaster of emotions, Tragedy, Comedy, Chemistry, Trust, Friendship, Fantasy, Hatred, Revenge, they have it all.
