Welcome to our blog!
Hello there everyone, and welcome to our dark askblog, hidden away from the Vesuvia guards. Only those who swear to keep us a secret from any dangers, then, and only then, will we answer their questions!
-Rules
1. Please keep questions short and simple, or at least a bit short! We're not the creators of this wonderful game so we might not know the answers to all of your questions!
2. No roleplaying, please! It might get annoying for others and we want to keep everyone happy here!
3. Occasionally, we will answer NSFW questions, but please don't pressure us to answer it otherwise we'll just ignore you and any of your future questions!
4. Please respect the mods and the characters! If you think we didn't get a character right, just comment it instead of sending hate please! We're people too!
5. We might take soome time when making an answer to your ask! This takes time, and we have our own lives outside of Tumblr, believe it or not!
-Character List
Asra: Your teacher in magic. Asra is characterized by a wanderlust and curiosity that often leads him away on mysterious journeys, and he enjoys exploring faraway locations.
To the Apprentice's enduring annoyance, he is often enigmatic and acts ambiguously, especially when pressed about the Apprentice's past. However, he confesses to hate keeping secrets from the Apprentice, and refrains from telling them complete truths only to keep them safe. He is very devoted to and protective of the apprentice, admitting that he journeys partly to escape his overwhelming feelings for the Apprentice, as he cannot tell them how he feels, in fear of how much they would know.
At times Asra is difficult to predict, but he can always be depended on to arrive whenever the Apprentice needs him. He is free-spirited and sociable, though ultimately private, preferring to spend his time alone or with only the Apprentice. He also enjoys teasing others with a mischievous humor, delighted by making them fluster. However when the teasing is returned, or upon receiving genuine affection, he appears comically uncertain of how to respond. Carefree and content to live in the moment, Asra appears to dislike worrying about the future, and will remind the Apprentice to do the same.
Julian: The 'fugitive' doctor. Julian is viewed as being overly dramatic by several characters, mainly due to his masochistic tendencies. Portiasums up this vexing trait of his by saying that Julian is "always shouldering someone else's burdens while lamenting how heavy the load is." Julian struggles with accepting the help of others because he believes himself to be unworthy of love and support.
Despite being a condemned criminal, he is reportedly loved by the majority of the Vesuvian public. He can be very magnetic and charming when he wants to be. According to Asra, he is able to excite others with ease and make them feel special, though Asra also implies that Julian is selfish and manipulative. You are warned against putting down your guard around him at several points, even, notably, by Julian himself. Regardless of any ulterior motive he could possibly have, Julian genuinely desires love and affection, and he reveals this vulnerability to you at several points within the story. However, his self-loathing often causes him to shut out those who try to help him.
Although Julian often attempts to maintain a guise of bravado, his air of confidence is shattered with comical ease whenever he is being shown genuine affection, and he is easily flustered, especially in romantic instances with the apprentice.
Nadia: The countess of Vesuvia. Nadia is very courteous and considerate with a playful streak. As a Countess, she's also authoritarian and prefers honesty to soothing lies. She's giving, willing to give gifts to her friends and acquaintances, saying they "need only ask".
Her overarching goal beyond capturing the murderer of her late husband Lucio is to make Vesuvia a better place for everyone - to fix the city and prove to Vesuvia and its people that her house hasn't completely failed and abandoned the city. She's angry at and disappointed in the Courtiers for failing to properly help the city in her absence, especially for allowing Vesuvia's poor people on the streets to go hungry and for not helping to rebuild the flooded Shopping District. She firmly believes that the city should provide for its people.
She tends to react sensitive to topics surrounding her sisters.
Nadia experiences numerous headaches throughout the game, and admits to the Apprentice that she remembers very little of her life with Lucio. She is not fond of people who appear to be "fake" fortune tellers; however, she greatly respects those who are legitimate magicians. She's also very intelligent with machinery, creating various mechanical toys for Chandra as well as the intricate library door and the clock in the Great Hall that keeps track of moon phases.
Muriel: The mysterious outsider. He worries a lot - for Asra, for you, for all of Vesuvia under some looming threat. He is very shy, his time playing a villain in gladiator combat only making him want to be alone more.
He lives in the woods with many chickens, and a wolf named Inanna who takes care of him.
Portia: The chatty handmaiden. She's an energetic and talkative person who adores drama and gossip. Throughout the story she becomes a friend to the player and encourages them to go on, just as long as it's along with the Countess' side of things. While she comes off at first as more of an airhead during your first interaction with her, she seems to not let on exactly how much she knows.
Lucio: The deceased count. Lucio is frequently described as High-Class Trash by the Devs. He is vain, volatile, selfish, and denies things he disagrees with. His actions range from throwing an artist in the dungeons over artistic disagreements (the artist refused to paint breasts on a bird lady), to setting people on fire for insulting him.[citation needed] It has also been strongly implied that he ripped people’s hearts out, and used magic for racketeering. However, he was never abusive in any of his relationships.
He exaggerates his suffering, loudly and dramatically, to wring sympathy out of anyone unfortunate enough to hear him. He also loves animals, and has a fondness for magic despite his lack of skill in it.
