ONE HOUR AGO: greg abbott, who i have the great displeasure of calling my governor, is calling for the expulsion and jailing of ut austin students exercising their first amendment right to freedom of speech an assembly. every single motherfucker on the right soooo concerned about the first amendment seems to be creaming their pants over college students being brutalized and arrested for protesting. its fucking reprehensible.

hi im sorry if youve been asked this hundreds of times already but a quick overview of your blog didnt yield any results; i keep coming across your post about sitting up in bed without any satisfying conclusion; did you ever find out what caused it?? did it get better?? have you gotten checked for sleep apnea or whatever else people have suggested it might be?

I'm afraid it's rather anticlimactic lmao. Yes it still happens to me, no I don't know what causes it. My best guess is it's some form of sleep-walking almost, but given my mobility I can't really walk so sitting up is as far as I get lmao. It's been happening since I was a really young kid.

I haven't gotten tested for sleep apnea, I could do that I suppose, but I haven't done it or looked into that. It doesn't really bother me, since I"m just sitting up in my sleep, my sleep otherwise is fine.

WHEN SHE COMES HOME by YAH YAH SCHOLFIELD / short story + digital collage, 2024 / a horror fantasy

Hi, it's back! And so am I! I haven't edited or looked at a short story in such a long time, it's actually extremely nice to put something out for my Patrons! This was a commission I did a while back: I can't remember for who, but it turned out really well and I'm sharing it with everyone now. Originally I meant to have this published in a magazine and I got really far in the process, but then the magazine disappeared/the editor I was working with hadn't got back to me in over a year -_-. Guess that makes this fair game! I've also given it a nice, new collage to go along with it. There's two versions; one that's busier and reflects the ambience of the story better, and then one that lets you see the kind of quilting/patterning I did with the background image! When She Comes Home is about a reclusive lighthousekeeper, her relationship to solitude and with her adoptive daughter. Inspirations include The Lighthouse and just general mermaid-lore/lighthouse ambience. I would like to say I was inspired by Jeanette Winterson's Lighthousekeeping but I only read that this year and I wrote this all the way back in 2021.

They'd retrieved the bag of hands from Dolor's corpse when they defeated him in the Facemaker's Boutique. Even so, he had no idea she'd been the reason the chef hadn't shown up to work anymore according to the tavern's barkeep a few days prior. He stood there in the tribunal going through a host of emotions before he settled on admiration as he watched her persuade Jaheira to perform in front of Sarevok, the druid falling to her knees and loudly asking for forgiveness for her insubordination. She was a touch too dramatic for Astarion’s liking but the farce did what it was supposed to do. Gan turned around satisfied, Sarevok stood impressed with the display, and the four of them followed him deeper inside into an inner sanctum.
