I can't get over the fact that the illusive man would say "his file (kaidan's) is well classified." Like.... God, imagine having all the resources of cerberus and you still can't access the file of this one dude who is considered "boring" and "average", "bland" and then you see that his history is classified because he's canonically one badass mfer who killed his bully of a teacher while he was a teenager.
Like, fuck, my love for kaidan really just grew by a bajillion percent when the first time I heard that line. 🥹
Shepard really has a weakness for bad boys and it's kaidan motherfucking alenko. 😭🥰❤️
Not to mention he would straight up square up to Shepard in ME3. Like, hello, yes, that's my man right there. 😩🤤
Find yourself a woman that sends you on a super secret mission with your favorite metal murder outfit and then constantly checks for updates that you're alive and that your super secret mission was successful.
Continuing the topic of ‘women who deserve better,’ I’m tired of Monica Stuart being framed as an annoyance, both by the narrative and the fandom. Yes, she was a hack in Season 3, but she’s clearly grown as a journalist since, and the world needs journalists who actually give a shit about uncovering the truth. Surely the past few years have shown us this? I found it especially irritating in Season 5 when she nearly died uncovering information about the illegal protomolecule research, and Holden and Fred just… cut her out completely? I get why those two characters don’t like her, but the way it was framed made it seem almost funny. It’s then repeated as a gag later when Monica is shut out at the party, again by characters the audience sympathises with.
Cut to Season 6, where Monica is a thorn in Chrisjen’s side. Now I’m as Team Yas Queen Avasarala as anyone else, but Monica does have a point about people deserving to know what the fuck is going on and Chrisjen seeming to not care much about this. Chrisjen is brilliant at external politics, but her internal politics leave something to be desired, and I’m curious to see if this is ever really delved into in the limited time we have left or if Monica is just going to be seen as one more annoyance for Chrisjen.
I really hope they come through with that begrudging respect though. The I-don’t-like-you-I-won’t-like-you-but-damn-if-you-don’t-hold-your-own attitude. Kind of hoping for that particular smirk/laugh that’s not really one of pleasure, it even looks kind of feral, but it’s not exactly negative either.
Fuck I want this.
It deserves episodes and it’s probably going to be a 5 minute scene 😂 but I’m so thirsty for it I’ll likely take just about anything.
I’m almost nervous for Drummer and Chrisjen to finally interact (assuming they do), because it may not live up to the amazingness in my head. Can we imagine the snark. The glares. The grudging mutual respect. GIVE IT TO ME.
