The villagers of (Name)'s hometown was quiet and whispered and cried to themseleves. A man with an ominuous mark on his forehead was walking down the road, carrying four death people all by his lonesome. He walked with firm steps and people could tell that he walked the way over here because his sandals were already halfway breaking and he was covered in the corpses' blood.
The villagers cried and wailed, looking away and watching the man march toward his destination. The man had sorrowful yet warm eyes and his eyes were down on the path he was walking down to.
He reached a house where a woman stood outside, choking in her tears, hands over her mouth. She fell on her knees and wailed loudly while he lined the corpses he lined in front of her. Then he bowed towards her,  body to the dirt, his forehead meeting the ground.
The woman kept on crying and hunched over, mouring deeply. The man was still bowing to her in apology for five long minutes and then he stood. Bowing once more and leaving.
The sun was rising in the horizon.

the day of the caravan
"(Name)-chan is so down the dumps, huh?" Chiyo said as she reached for the basket of fruits that Yana was handing over to her. Chiyo was inside the caravan, lining up the basket of fruits inside while Yana was the one getting them from the storage house. (Name) was busy piling together wrappers for when they need to package the fruits and give them to buyers. She had some sadness sprits floating around her.
Yana hummed, "Obviously. If you were the one in love with Tsugikuni-san and he doesn't tell you about himself when you thought you know him just by his cover, of course you'd be devastated." She said, taking pity for the girl.
"Are you girls done?" (Name)'s father walked out the house, carrying a bag of necessities and some logs. Yana and Chiyo nodded while (Name) stood up and went to place the things she prepared inside the caravan.
(Name)'s mother who walked out with her husband smiled, "(Name), please don't let your feelings dampen the mood." She said, earning the girl's attention.
"Yes...sorry." She said softly. The father chuckled and rode on to the front where there were two horses strapped to the carriage. Yana nad Chiyo climbed up and pulled (Name) into the back with them. Their mother waved a hand, bidding them good luck on their sales and journey.
"Come back safely." She said.
"We will!" (Name) gave her mother a small smile and they all waved back. (Name)'s father urged the horses to go and they neighed loudly before clopping their hooves to the ground and moving.
The sales were greater while travelling compared to when they're just walking to neighboring town. In their caravan sale, lots of people, travelers, farmers, and normal people would come gather and buy their fruits. Fruits were nearly a luxury especially if they were big and healthy. Throughout the travel, (Name) would forget about Yoriichi and let happiness of seeing people smile as she handed over their products make her happy as well.
Chiyo and Yana gave each other a smile, noticing that the girl's mood was better than before they left. They continued on to their selling and Chiyo would switch wit h(Name)'s father to guide the horses.
When night time came, they stopped by the woods and set camp. The four of them gathered around a flame and ate their dinner, telling each other stories and their thoughts on the sale. After that, Chiyo and Yana were quickly asleep after cleaning up.
(Name) was still siting by the fire, staring at it and she got reminded by its warmth that this flame was similar to Yoriichi. Her father suddenly sat across her, giving her a smile.
"My child, are you thinking about the samurai again?" He asked. She looked at him guilty and nodded. He chuckled, "You're very transparent."
"Father..." She sighed.
"What do you like about that man, anyway? I let you put down all other marriage offers from fellow farm owners but I never had the opportunity to ask you why you like that man." He asked, "What does he have that others do not?"
"...everything." She said, staring at the fire, "He has everything. Not everyone has everything."
Her father looked at her, waiting for her to explain.
"He has such warm and sad eyes, a beautiful smile, a wonderful body, a kind and strong personality, a patient outlook, and many more." She said then looked up to the sky, staring at the moon that stood out, "He is like the sun. He is like the moon. He is warm and he...is sad. All alone in the sky. Just as he is alone now...I wonder what he is up to."
"You're such a romantic," Her father said, she gave him a slight glare and he laughed, "(Name), he is your first love so cherish that feeling in your heart, alright?"
She nodded and he stood up patting her head, "Good night, father."
"Good night. Sleep early after daydreaming about your man, alright!"
"Father!"
Morning came and they had breakfast together before setting off back home through another path. They sold their fruits again until all the baskets were empty and they had so much coin to take home, they laughed at (Name)'s bulging eyes. She had never seen so much money before.
However, even with the hard work they put through it and all the money they earned, whenever they saw someone in need, they would give some of their money since that was all they could give them and all the fruits had been sold out.
The journey back home took longer because of the rough road they took and they had to consider the horses.
Soon nightfall came. In an hour more, they would arrive back to their hometown. Chiyo, Yana, and (Name) were at the front of the carriage, guiding the horses as they sang. (Name)'s father was at the back cleaning the insides of the baskets.
(Name) looked up to the starry sky and smiled. Isn't the sun a star too? She recalled one of her home studies then she felt the carriage stop. She turned to Chiyo who sat next to her, Yana on Chiyo's other side.
She looked at why they stopped and saw a man and a boy at the side of the road, the man had passed out and the boy was shaking him awake . (Name) blinked.
"(Lastname)-san! There's some guys here!" Chiyo called to the back. Yana got down to help the two. (Name)'s father peered his head out, "A boy and his father."
"I'll go check what's wrong. They might be beggars that need help." Yana said, calmly. Chiyo hummed in agreement.
"They shouldn't be walking out at night," (Name)'s father said then noticed that his daughter hadn't been saying anything the whole time. He blinked and looked at her fear stridden face, her face paler than usual and her body trembled, "Daughter...are you okay?"
Talk! Speak!
(Name) yelled to herself internally. That isn't a boy shaking his father awake, it was a demon eating out a man! How could see know through this dark? She couldn't, she just knows because she had been in a similar situation and there was light smell in the air. It was blood.
Say something!
She tried to speak, her words stuck in her throat in fear. She watched Yana come close and her body trembled so bad for what's to come next.
No! Get away!
"Y-Ya--!"
"AaaaaGGGHHH!!" Before Yana could even speak, she was quickly cut across her face. Chiyo and (Name)'s father's eyes widen when they heard her scream in the dark. Their only light source was the stars in the sky and the lantern inside the caravan.
"What the hell!" (Name)'s father yelled, grabbing a rake from inside the carriage and jumping out, "Yana! Yana! Are you alright!"
"(Name)-chan, please head to the back." Chiyo was keeping her composure as she forced the girl to stand up and go with her to the back. (Name) was shaking to the core. Her jaw was locked tightly but they all knew what they came across. Tears came ut of her eyes, Chiyo sweat nervously.
(Name)'s father held the rake in his hand tightly then he his something with his foot, something rolled in front of him. He looked down and despite the darkness, he could see Yana's head.
Her body wasn't attached to it. just her head and her face had lines of claw marks so deep, blood oozed out of them. Yana's face was permanently stuck to a terrified look, her mouth open as if she was still screaming and her eyes were rolled to the back of her head.
"I'm so luck, so lucky, so lucky, so lucky, so lucky." He looked up and saw a silhouette of the boy that now grew before him. The smell of blood was thick and he couldn't help but throw up on the side. (Name)'s father shook in fear but he blindly waved his rake around, an attempt to scare the demon off, "That won't do..."
In a split second, he was on the ground, no longer able to feel the rake in his hands because he no longer had his arms. Blood came out from the cut limbs and he screamed in pain. Chiyo and (Name) who were in the carriage, hugged each other tightly and cried so softly.
(Name) cried as she heard her father cry in pai nand agony, there was the sound of bones crunching and a loud pop before the sound of her father's cries were gone. She knows he's dead now. Bile threatened to rise from her mouth but she clamped her mouth shut with her hand.
"Don't worry...the light will protect us, your charm will protect us." Chiyo reassured her, holding her tight. (Name) looked down on the charm around her neck. The wisteria bag.
"Who..said...it will?" The demon shook the carriage and they looked around, frantically looking fro the demon but it wouldn't show itself. The lantern in the caravan fell to the floor and the baskets near it set up in flames.
Chiyo gasped and grabbed (Name) then they jumped out the carriage and ran to the opposite path with their lives on the line. Chiyo ran ahead, dragging (Name) with her who hwas difficulty catching up.
"(Name)....! (Name)...! Please run faster! I know it's hard...! But please!!" Chiyo begged, looking back at the younger girl with tears on her eyes. (Name)'s heart started to palpitate and her lungs couldn't handle the task of running so fast. Her legs were wobbling and she fell to her knees, dragging Chiyo who got up, "(Name)...! Get up!!"
(Name) panted do hard, she was sucking in air and sweat already layered her entire body. She felt like her head was spinning. At that moment, she cursed herself, why was she so damn weak?
"C-Ch-Chiyo-san, please go...! Save yourself...!" (Name) managed to stammer out and she didn't see the look of hesitancy and disbelief that Chiyo gave her. (Name) just felt her hold tighten then she was scooped up to the woman's arms. They could hear the horses crying out and struggling.
She started running with (Name) in her arms but she was heavy even though she was thin and frail, "Are you stupid...?! I would never do that! I owe your family my li--"
(Name) screamed when she heard the sound of skin tearing. Chiyo fell and so did (Name) who was gaping in fear as she stared at the hideous demon that was stepping over Chiyo.
"(Name)...run...please run...!" Chiyo was unmoving, her eyes losing it's shine but she still manage to choke out those words through blood. She received deep cuts on her back. (Name) wailed.
"That was so... touching." The demon said, licking it's hands.  There was warm blood on (Name)'s face then she hurriedly gathered herself and ran, the demon did not chase her and she though the wisteria charm worked but when she looked down to look at it and pray, it had turned smaller.
"N-No-no!" She grabbed the charm into her hands while running, the bottom had a hoel and the wisteria in it was spilling on to her hands. The demon lunged, kicking her on the back and she fell on the ground, the wisteria falling.
"Such small amount of wisteria don't scare me you know." The demon said, "It's not even pure wisteria. some are just seeds.."
(Name) screamed when the demon slowly buried it's finger into her shoulder, it bleed out profusely and her sweet blood enticed the demon. Her head was spinning, she couldn't think of anything except for death but the demon was making her suffer.
"AAAAAAGGH!" She cried out, her eyes rolling, tears spilling as the demon laughed loudly at her torment. She grabbed the demon's arm but couldn't budge. The demon pulled out it's finger and stabbed her on the other shoulder. She screamed again and kicked her legs but they had no strength in them.
She caught sight of the moon, it looked like a blur of white in the sky, "Yo...rii...chi..." The demon removed it's finger and held her left ear then in one swift movement, the demon plucked her ear off. (Name) screeched, her hand holding onto her left side of the head. The demon ate her ear.
"No one will help you out here, you know." The demon frowned at her, watching her blood from her ear pool underneath her head. (Name) stopped struggling but just cried. Her body felt so weak and tired.
The demon grabbed her left arm then pulled. (Name) could feel her joints cracking and popping and she screamed so loudly, it echoed into the night.
Slash!
Before the demon could pop her arm out, it's head fell to the ground and he was unable to react to it. The demon fell to the side and quietly crumbled to dust in shock.
(Name) knew who came to her side and lifted her to sit, she still held on to where her left ear was supposed to be. She looked at Yoriichi with tears in her eyes. He looked at he with the same warm and sad eyes. She forced a smile upon her face and she felt him squeeze her shoulder a bit. She could feel no pain at all.
"Tsugikuni-san...did you come to save me...?" Her voice was very soft, her hand on the side of her head fell but he caught it but she weakly and shakily lifted that hand to reach his face and feel the ominous mark on his forehead, "...I think I realized just now..."
At her near death, it occurred to her some thoughts she had shoved deep into her mind because they were too hard for her to handle. At that realization, she trembled and smiled at Yoriichi. She stroked his face, forgetting that the blood in her hands were staining his cheeks.
"...You aren't like the moon at all...you aren't the blue moon...that I look at all night. You aren't...the blue moon...that comes and goes...once a month....yo must be greater than that...right?" She let out a chortle but she coughed out blood, "I'm so stupid...for not realizing it sooner...you're just the sun..you're just the sun...which is greater than the moon...you're still there even when night takes over..."
Yoriichi gave her a sorrowful look and watched her smile at him despite her suffering.
"And I'm...just one of those people...who bask under your light..." She said, the light in her eyes flickering, tears ran down her cheeks softly, "I...just a stranger...who will not be...able to move the sun...but just witness it...I'm not the one to...move your legacy...I'm just a passer by..."
The light in her eyes went out like a flame and her hand on his cheek fell and he caught her hand. He softly spoke, "(Name)-san...thank you."
She smiled, her eyes half way closing. There was no hope for her to be saved from the start, "...you're...not...a man...of no..worth...remember that."
Then she closed her eyes.

Tap tap tap
There was the light sound of footsteps against the stone steppings as two figures descended them. (Name) and Yoriichi were quiet as they went down the stairs, their heads occupied with their own thoughts. Yoriichi had no longer worn the earrings as he had given it to Sumiyoshi.
She felt so terrible that this man was going through something so difficult and she had no idea about it at all. She stopped moving and so did Yoriichi who gave her a curious look, "Tsugikuni-san...why didn't you tell me about your hardships?"
He blinked, seeing through her, her body was tense in sorrow and guilt.
"Do you find no need to tell me?" She asked and he was about to pat her shoulder reassuringly but she caught his hand with both of hers. Then his eyes widen when she saw the tears in her eyes, "Tsugikuni-san, why didn't you tell me? Do you know how I feel about you? Surely you know! Even if you disappear for hundred of years, as long as I see you, my heart only beats for you, you know that, right?"
"(Name)-san..." That was true. He knew because he could see through a person with his ability. And whenever he was around her, her heart would beat faster, her muscles would tense, her body will get warmer yet she moves so carelessly as if she knows that she is safe as long he is there. That was how Utau, his dead wife, would act around him before. He knows what love is, "I am aware."
"Then why didn't you tell me?! Because I'm younger and wouldn't understand? Because I'm in love with you?" She asked, tightly holding his hand.
He calmly responded, putting her hands down and giving her a serene smile, "(Name)-san, you're a lovely person. So lovely every human here I pass loves you and cares for you. You take care of nature too as if they are human as well. But you need not concern yourself with a man like me, your efforts towards me are too much, I...do not deserve them."
"What are you saying..." Her tears fell. Why is this man degrading himself so much? It hurts, "You deserve them, Tsugikuni-san. You deserve everything, be it those negativities or the positive things. They happen for a reason and I'm here giving you what I think you deserve. You can't just tell me that, Tsugikuni-san, because this is how I really feel."
Yoriichi stared at her, slightly shocked and concerned but the only thing he gave her was a smile so warm and bright but full of regret and sorrow. "Thank you."
That's what he only told her before continuing on descending the steps. Whether he took those words from her to heart or just as an encouragement, she does not know. She watched him go for the nth time.
But she didn't stop him this time.

two years later
If you were a girl with many hopes and aspiring dreams, would you chase after this even if you forget the face of the person you hold important? In (Name)'s case, she was torn between these two but of course she had chosen to go after her future because that is what her parents expected her to do as the next heir of their fruit orchand.
Just within a year, (Name) had found strength in remembering Yoriichi's words and his face but day after day, his face would fade out of her mind as she grew busier and acted more like how a heiress would be. She can only remember a ominous mark, earrings, and the eyes of lonesome man.
(Name) was now swamped with more of her work, she had reached out to more villages from outside their own place to deliver and sell more fruit which was an outstanding feat for her, her father cried proud tears when he found out his daughter was becoming a grown woman. Nevertheless, (Name) never failed to deliver the fruits in her own neighborhood including the Kamados.
But even with the endeavors she reached, the condition of her body was getting worse. Her coughing fits happened more often and she gets tired more quickly. Her concerned mother asked the helpers, Chiyo and Yana, to deliver the fruits on her behalf on most days. (Name) couldn't visit the Kamados and their daughter as she would usually do.
"Nee, (Name), the fruit caravan sale three days from now, whose going to be guiding the horses? Obviously it's not going to be you." Chiyo chuckled as she wiped her hands on her apron after putting down a basket full of fruits. (Name) was sitting on a stool, carefully packing fruits in small baskets with recycled papers on top.
She gave him a small pout then smiled, "Father will. It seems like it's just going to be me, father, Yana, and you whose going. Mother will be left to stay in the house."
"Oh! I didn't know I was included!" She grinned, "This is going to be my first fruit caravan with you, (Name)!"
"Me too...oh, wait, this is my first very caravan..." She mused then looked at her, "What do you usually do...?"
"We sell along the road and then drop by other villages that we usually don't go to sell. I think the longest time it takes for a travel is three days if we have stop overs, two days if we don't stop by in villages." She said, "Sometimes it's dangerous because of bandits and demons but thank the gods your father always has wisteria charms to keep the those vile creatures at bay."
Chiyo was then called over to the kitchen by (Name)'s mother, leaving the girl alone to her work. (Name) started to wonder if the sales on the caravan will be better if she was there. (Name) finished up packaging the fruits and put them in a basket.
"(Name), come eat lunch first before you head out. And you're carrying so much! How many times do I have to tell you that you should only carry half!" Her mother appeared by the archway to the kitchen, holding a bowl of greens.
"Ahahah..." She laughed nervously, slipping off the basket from her back, "I was hoping you wouldn't catch me..."
(Name) put down the bag and followed her mother to the dining room where her family was gathered. Her father was already there, as well as Chiyo and Yana who just came back from peeling oranges.
The small family ate in silence and after that, (Name) went back on track to do deliveries. And as always the last was the Kamados. She went there as slowly as she can so she doesn't stress her body and by the time she got close to the top, exhausted was now an understatement.
She hasped out short breaths then plopped down on the ground then her eyes caught a flame dancing at the side with Suyako and Sumiyoshi and her two kids watching. No, it wasn't a flame.
It was Yoriichi.
He was dancing but in reality, he was doing sword movements of his and Suyako cheered and clapped for him as he showed off how they're done. Sumiyoshi was entranced by it. (Name) stared at the brilliance of the man who had gone out of her life for two years. And he was till dazzling as ever.
Like the dying flame in her heart, it immediately set into a bigger flame, warming her chest and her face.
"Tsugikuni-san..." (Name) mumbled out, slowly standing up and dusting her hands while her eyes never broke contact from his dance. She moved closer, the Kamados not minding her as she did watch with them. Yoriichi didn't stop. There seemed to be twelve kinds of movements and all together Tahy can be counted as thirteen.
Her heart was so fragile when it came to him. She was sure her so called love towards him was gone in the span of his disappearance yet here he was and her heart beat fast and the shine in her eyes were greater. What did this man cast upon the poor young girl who only yearned for him?
"Wasn't that beautiful, (Name)-chan?" Suyako asked. Yoriichi was finished dancing, he was looking at her. His eyes was the same as ever, unreadable, indifferent, deep, and warm. (Name) stared back at him, her words stuck in her throat.
This man has made her weak for him.
"Uhm, (Name)-chan...?" Sumiyoshi asked, concerned she had her mouth open but wasn't saying anything. She snapped out of it.
"Eh! Ah, yeah! It was very beautiful, Tsugikuni-san...!" She said, clasping her hands together. the said man lowered his head, embarrassed by the compliment, "It was like a dance." She said dreamily.
"Right, right?" Suyako agreed with her, then turned to the samurai, "Since you're here and she's here, stay for a while and eat fruits with us!"
"I apologize...but I have somewhere to be." He said, surprising the three. (Name)'s heart fell. Why was he leaving so fast?
"Oh, that's too bad." Sumiyoshi frowned then he looked back at him, "Can I have a minute with you though?"
Yoriichi blinked and nodded, the two males went somewhere to the side. That's when (Name) realized that Yoriichi's eyes were quite swollen. She went up to Suyako whom she knew was a chatterbox.
"Suyako-san, did Tsugikuni-san cry?" She asked straight to the point. Suyako hummed.
"Yes, he was crying." She said, lifting her daughter Sumire "I wish you were here earlier. Maybe you could have comforted him earlier but thanks to my baby, Sumire, she solved the problem!"
"...What was it about?" She asked.
Suyako's smile fell and she became serious, "...As you know, Yoriichi-san came from a very rough path and as a samurai that slays demons, he has experienced more pain than all of us combined..." She said, softly then looked at (Name), "Yoriichi lost his wife and unborn child. He was kicked out of his own place from the demon slaying corps, and his...brother turned into one of those he kills."
She froze. She couldn't say anything. Her eyes slowly went to the man in question. She doesn't understand him at all. She thought she did but she did not. He has walked more paths when she only walks one kind of path that was fixed for her since the day she was born. He is fields away from her and she was just there.
Her chest hurt at the realization., at the realization that this man whom she thought was living the best of his life just because he was a samurai, was actually suffering so much. Yet he still managed to be so kind, so warm like the sun. If it were her, she would have turned cold and numb and wish to the gods she were dead but no, he was there standing so humbly.
Tears fell from her eyes and Suyako gasped, shocked, "E-eh! (Name)-chan, what's wrong?" Like how a mother would react, Suyako wiped the young girl's tears and comforted her that it'll all be better. It will all be alright.
But was he alright?

(Name) ran up the steps toward the Kamado household. Her frail legs carrying her body in the wind as she hurriedly made her way up the stairs. She heard that Suyako was already giving birth to her baby and apparently, Yorichi also came by after many months of his absence. (Name), of course, was ecstatic when she heard the news.
The girl reached the top of the stair and caught her breath. She could hear nothing, it was quiet so she assumed Suyako had already given birth to her child. She jogged to the side to reach the garden but Yorichi appeard right in front of her, "Ah!"
He caught her by the shoulders before she could barreled straight toward him. He let go, "(Lastname)..."
"Tsugikuni-san!" She beamed, her cheeks tinting into a color pink, "It's been months! How are you?"
"I'm good...Suyako had already given birth. The child is a boy." He said and she smiled at him, "I was about to leave."
She blinked and looked at him shocked, "E-Eh! But you just arrived!"
He nodded, "I do not want to take the Kamado's hospitality for granted."
Her lips parted and he turned away to leave, she quickly caught his wrist and he turned around, expecting her to say something. She didn't let go of him.
"Tsugikuni-san, please stay with me for a while..." She softly said, her head down and cheeks turning red, "I.."
She couldn't say it but to get him to stay for a bit, she has to say it.
"I missed you..." She said, barely above a whisper but thankfully, he heard it and she let go of his wrist. (Name) mustered up the last of her bravery to look up at him, clenching her hands on her sides, "Y-You told me that destiny will decide if we must meet again...! I believe this is why i ran into you just now..! To spend time with you!"
"But you're here to visit the baby." He said and she puffed her cheeks.
"Uhm, I-I can drop by later but if you're going to leave now, at least spend a few hours here...with me." She said shyly. She hit herself, she sounded like a demanding child. Yorichi looked at her concerned.
In the end, Yorichi did go with (Name) to town but he had said that he will leave before it gets dark. He also didn't want to take her kindness for granted. The two caught eyes of people as they walked along the dirt path, most especially Yorichi. He would notice that people would stare at him in awe or suspicion. Some brave souls tried to greet (Name) whilst greeting him in the process. (Name) seemed to be loved by the people in the village.
"Tsugikuni-san, why do you always leave when you always come here to see the Kamados?" An innocent question. (Name) looked up at him with her pretty (e/c) eyes. He blinked.
"I just like visiting them when I'm close by. I cannot stay in one place because there are demons lurking all over the place. I wouldn't be able to protect anyone if I stay here..." He said quietly, "(Name), if you think something or someone is important and you want to protect it, you make do. "
She warmly smiled at him and tugged on to his sleeve, "You always say inspiring things."
They both stopped to eat a udon store. Yorichi didn't really have money so (Name) insisted she pays for the two of them. They both ate quietly and the girl felt like they were on a date. She shook her head, getting rid of the foolish thought then was surprised when Yorichi put some of his meat cuts on her own bowl.
"E-Eh? Tsugikuni-san, you'll need the meat to gain energy and protein...!" She said, returning them to him but he returned it back to her, and she returned it back to him but he returned it back to her before she could even place it on his bowl. People stared at their antics, "Uh..."
"This is the only way I can repay your kindness towards me." He said, putting back the meat into her bowl. She stared at him, "Thank you. The noodles and vegetables are enough. The meat is the most expensive one in this bowl...it's only right you have it."
She turned red and grew flustered. She ate the udon quickly, she nearly choked. Yorichi handed her a cup of tea.
After that, as Yorichi had promised, he went his way to slay demons. (Name) was escorting him until they reached the entrance of the village. He turned around and gave a polite bow. The girl spoke when he raised his head, "It's so unfair... you leave for so long but stay for a minute."
He place a hand on her head, patting her locks softly. She looked up at him, blushing. He didn't say anything though. Yorichi pulled his hand away. She was waiting for him to say something but he didn't.
The mysterious samurai simply turned his back and walked away and there (Name) realized that he seemed so lonely. He always walked alone and for how long" That she doesn't know. She helplessly watched his broad back as it slowly shrunk and became part of the horizon ahead, his silhouette disappearing out of view.
(Name) placed her hands over her beating heart.
She was helplessly in love with a man whose name and occupation is the only thing she knows.
a/n opp-- sorry for the short chapter. however, I decided I would update this daily starting tomorrow because this only has...uhm, four chapters left. yes, it's only until chapter ten. I meant for this to be a drabble-sort of thing or oneshot but I was surprised the readers for this,,,increased so yeah hahah the reason it was supposed to be just a one shot thingy bc I have nooo absolute idea how yoriichi flirts but look at me, im at chap six still with the sa,e yori from chap one *shrugs*
ill be writing a new book but if you have requests, I MAY OR MAY NOT answer them,, haha im the kind of author that gets unmotivated when being told to do something,,, I was thinking of doing a michikatsu tsugikuni one shot but uhhh will that sell?
aaa future books r going to be hypmic related,, if there are hypmic fans out here, and maybe a bungo stray dogs one if I don't get stuck writing ranpo's character again
. well that's all! please look forward to the last few chapters itll be fun :D

movement five
Two months have passed without a sign of Yoriichi Tsugikuni. During his absence, (Name) willed herself to work harder and so she did. The sales of the family did go up for a while until one day she started to have coughing fits that made her parents concerned about her so she stopped having to work for two weeks until her cough resided.
Along that month, her father had also tried to find her suitors but all of them were surprisingly rejected by (Name) who said she was looking for the perfect one. Her father knew she was talking about Yoriichi. Who couldn't see how smitten (Name) was towards the samurai? But he didn't go against her wishes, he let her be.
Suyako's stomach has also been growing well since she and Sumiyoshi were taking care of it well. (Name) would come once a week up the mountain for a visit and give them fruits. The Kamado household somehow became her second home because she started to sleep there a few times every time she helped out. There were actually reasons why she would go there to the Kamados despite the distance. One, was because she was making deliveries to them. Two, she simply wanted to help out because as Suyako's stomach grows, the less she can help Sumiyoshi. So (Name) took it to herself to help him. Third, climbing up the stairs would help strengthen her lung capacity. Finally, because she thought she'd see Yoriichi.
(Name) had also learned that the Kamados had never told Yoriichi about the condition of her health but somehow the samurai knew that she was weaker than a normal human would be. She wondered, up to this day, how he knew that.
It chilly when (Name) woke up and she immediately pulled on extra haoris over her. It was a sign that winter was approaching and when winter comes, their business staggers because it was too cold to make deliveries and much more dangerous than summer.
"Oh, sweetie, good morning," (Name)'s mother greeted her as she walked out her bedroom, her mother was on her way out to make morning deliveries, "I made breakfast, it's in the kitchen! I'll be doing some deliveries now, and also, can you wake up your father and tell him to grab some herbs from the forest? It's about time we make some preservatives. Winter is coming."
"Alright, take care, mother!" (Name) waved and her mother gave a warm smile before leaving with a basket of fruits on her back. (Name) went to the kitchen to eat her breakfast then she woke up her father who groggily got out of bed and went to eat a single loaf of bread before heading for the woods for herbs. (Name) was left in the house.
Later on, Chiyo and Yana arrived for work and helped the (h/c) hair colored girl harvest some fruits before sorting them for deliveries. (Name), as usual, went to do her own set of deliveries and grabbed some extra fruits for the Kamados for when she gets to visit them. Her mother later on arrived, finishing her own batch then her father who returned with not only herbs, but also a pheasant he caught.
After having lunch with the pheasant her father caught, she proceeded with her deliveries. of course, without leaving with the wisteria pouch necklace around her neck. (Name) proceeded to work. Her usual routine and path followed. And the last place she'd go to were the Kamados.
When she climbed up there, Sumiyoshi was at the front gathering firewood, he must be preparing for winter. She went up behind him and he turned around when he heard her. He smiled, "Oh! Working hard as always, (Name)-chan!" He greeted, "As you can see, I'm gathering firewood for winter. Your family should do the same!"
"Thank you for the advice, Sumiyoshi-san," She said as she removed the basket on her back and handed over to him a package of fruits, he beamed and dusted his hands on his pants before receiving them with both hands, "I made sure I put two more spare fruits!"
"Oh, that's kind of you, (Name)-chan!" He said, "Do you want to go in and have some tea? Around this time, Suyako must be sewing some clothes for our kid."
"I'd love to!" (Name) said, excitedly. Sumiyoshi let her in and said he'd following later. She walked in after removing her slippers and leaving her basket by the door. She walked along the inside of the house, already familiar with the interior since she had come in and visited so many times.
The woman spotted Suyako in the living room, seated next to the kotatsu, cloths piled on it and some sewing materials. She was indeed making clothes while humming to herself.
"Suyako-san, I'm here again...sorry for the trouble." (Name) softly said, earning the woman's attention who smiled upon seeing her.
"Oh, no! It's alright, (Name)-chan, we love having you here. You already feel like our kid, I wish our child will be as sweet as you." She said, watching the younger female sit across her, "My, I should also make you a haori thicker than what you're wearing, it's getting cold you know! We can't get you having sick! Are you taking medications your family is giving you? You look quite out of color."
"I-I am, I am! No need to worry, Suyako-san! I just got exhausted on my way here." She replied, waving her hands, "I never get used to it."
Silence dawned over them after Suyako gave her a kind smile. (Name) helped her sew some clothes but she stopped when the older woman spoke, "(Name)-chan, are you still waiting for Yoriichi-san?"
Startled, the girl looked at her, flustered, "Uhm-uhm..."
"Don't deny it! I see the way you look at the distance, you look like you're longing for someone! And the only person you could be longing is that man!" She said, showing her lightly, "I'm a woman like you, you know. I always sigh a lot too and look at the distance whenever Sumiyoshi is out of town."
"I-I-I don't sigh a lot..!" She denied, embarrassed.
"You do! Just a day ago, you sighed deeply twenty four times, I counted! I counted!" She said, wagging her finger. (Name) sighed, "Oh! there, you sighed."
(Name) turned red. Suyako smiled, giggling.
"Do you like Yoriichi-san, (Name)-chan?" She asked. (Name) looked at her with a pout, face still red. She looked away once then looked down at her lap, she nodded hesitantly, "Do your parents know?"
She nodded again.
"Do they approve?" She asked once more. (Name) stopped then shrugged. Suyako chuckled, "I guess they will never tell you. Well, don't you worry, (Name)."
Suyako placed a hand over (Name)'s hand. She looked up at the woman whose stomach was already growing. Suyako smiled at her warmly, "I think that Yoriichi will come back."
(Name) nodded and smiled back, surprising Suyako a bit, "I'm sure he will."
Suyako blinked, "What makes you sure?"
"Because he said that destiny decides it to."
