this is absurdly specific, and I love it

Maybe Matthew Patthew left the internet theories in the right hands

This is what my mind does with its knowledge on its free time ;-;

So, since today's supposed to be Sackboy's b-day and I had a bit of free time during lunch, my mind began to wander around the subject.

Is Sackboy really 32 years old already? Like, for real?? For me, it doesn't feel like it. Thinking this makes me feel like I've missed a lot of his life to be honest, but there's no use in debating against math. 2024 minus 1992 will always be 32 no matter what, after all.

That is, until I realized that sackpeople aren't, well, people. And that sounds more than obvious, but that realization helped me open a small gate that linked our reality with the Wonderplane's, and it was with one simple word: sackonds.

People have only taken into account human years to stablish Sackboy's age, opening up the debate of whether he's a kid or not. However, we didn't take into account that, as a matter of fact, Sackboy isn't human nor lives in our reality or plane.

He's from the Wonderplane, where time is counted in sackonds.

Could this mean that there's a possible way to determine Sackboy's age once and for all?

I decided to find out.

So, we have that

1 sackond → 2.5 seconds

and that

1 human year → 31,536,000 seconds

Therefore,

1 sackond → 2.5 seconds

ꪎ sackonds → 31,536,000 seconds

ꪎ = 12,614,400 sackonds

and

12,614,400 sackonds → 1 human year

ꪎ sackonds → 32 human years

ꪎ = 403,660,800 sackonds

If we deduce that

1 sack-year → 31,536,000 sackonds

since

1 human year → 31,536,000 seconds

, then

1 sack-year → 31,536,000 sackonds

ꪎ sack-years → 403,660,800 sackonds

ꪎ = 12.8 sack-years

Therefore, we have that Sackboy is 12 and ⅘ sack-years old :]▗

(12 sack-years, 9 months and 15 days aproximately)

What does that mean for this investigation?

I'm... honestly not sure.

I mean, I don't know if it shocks me more that he's 32 (human) years old or 12.8 sack-years old.

That means he was around 6.4 sack-years when LBP1 came out, 7.2 during LBP2, and 8.8 in LBP3!

(The math here is a bit imprecise, I might modify it's precision later)

Although... it's true that we must keep in mind that 1 sack-year might not mean the same to them as 1 human year does to us (in terms of growth, maturity, stages of life and stuff), as it happens with every different species in our planet, so this conclusion doesn't necessarily mean that Sackboy is still in his early teens. However, this could explain why Sackboy is pretty much smaller than any other sackling we encounter in the games, meaning that he is younger than the rest, but still not exactly the equivalent of a 12 year-old human kid.

Regardles of everything, it was fun to finally know a bit more of the wool boy that brings happines to my life, so I'll conclude this post with a small drawing of him :]
