All Assignments are In!!

Thank you to everyone for getting your stories in. Reveals will be some time tomorrow. You should receive an email (to your AO3 address) once the gift is revealed, but you will also be able to find your gift on your gift page.

Please remember that the stories will be anonymous for 3 days, basically over the weekend, so please don’t reveal the story that you wrote until after reveals. If you want to respond to comments on the story, please either wait until reveals or respond anonymously.

Once we reveal the stories we will close the collection to new stories. The collection will be open for today if you want to provide short treats. Also if you want to do any last minute editing on your story please do so today before the stories are revealed.

Again thank you to everyone who wrote something and congratulations on the hard work.

Oh, man, it's the Quack Attack deadline!

Assignments are due tomorrow, March 18th.

Are you ready to submit your assignment? Here are a few things to remember before you do!

Please make sure the assignment you submit is complete and is at min. 1,000 words. You'll still have time to edit it in the week before reveals if necessary.

Please make sure you have only included at least one character or one relationship requested.

This exchange is anonymous. Please don't share/hint who you are in the notes yet!

How do you submit your assignment? You can submit your assignment directly from your assignments page on AO3. Go to your assignment and click the "Fulfill" button. It will automatically fill in the collection and your recipient.

Submitted your assignment, but also want to submit a treat? There are two ways to do this! 1. Directly from the assignment page, as stated above. 2. Go to the collection and click the "Post to Collection" button. Where it says, "Gift this work to...", please make sure you put in the recipient's name!

Can't complete your assignment? Completely understandable, as we know that life happens! If you can't finish your assignment by tomorrow, you have two options:

If you need a few extra days, we are willing to grant a brief extension. Please email us at [email protected].

If you know you won't be able to complete your assignment at all, you can default. If this is the case, please default as soon as possible to give us time to find a pinch hitter as we'd like to make sure the pinch hitter has enough time to write. ASSIGNMENTS ARE OUT!!

You should receive an email with your assignment and you can also view it on your assignments page in AO3. If you can't find it or if there is an issue please email: [email protected].

The collection is now open for posting.

Remember, assignments are due on March 18, 2022!!

A few things to remember:

You only have to include at least one character or relationship requested. You do not have to incorporate everything they requested. (That said please try in good faith to write a story a you think your recipient will enjoy.)

This exchange is Anonymous! Do not share who you are writing for! If you want further clarification from your recipient please email [email protected] and we reach out to your recip for you. DO NOT CONTACT THEM ABOUT THEIR REQUESTS DIRECTLY!

Remember that the fic must be complete and at least 1,000 words when posted.

If you contact us on anything, be sure to include your AO3 name that you signed up with in the subject line.

If You Are Ready to Post:

You can post directly from your assignments page on AO3, just go to your assignment and click the "Fulfill" Button and it will automatically fill in the collection and your recipient.

If you want to post a treat, or you aren't doing it through the assignments page, please go to the collection and click the Post to Collection button. Please make sure you put in the recipient's name EXACTLY how it appears in the assignment on the line where it says "Gift this work to...."

If You Can't Complete Your Assignment

We understand that life happens and stuff comes up. If you can't finish your story by the above deadline you have two options:

If you just need a few extra days, we are willing to grant brief extensions. Please email us at [email protected] and we will let you have a few days.

If you know you won't be able to complete your assignment at all, you can default. What happens now?

Now matching will begin. We will insure everyone has a match for both a recipient and a writer. We will announce on this post once assignments have gone out along with posting instructions and date reminders. You should receive an email with your assignment to the email associated with your AO3 account. You can also view it on your assignments page.

The latest that assignments will go out will be Monday, but they are likely to be sooner. We ask that you refrain from editing your sign up from this point forward to avoid confusion for your assigned writer.

Characters, Relationships & Tagsets

Hello everyone we are almost at the 24 hour mark prior to opening of sign ups!! We will post tomorrow the instructions on how to sign up specifically so stay tuned!

To help ease the process, please read the below if you are planning to sign up.

AO3

This exchange is mainly being run on the Archive of Our Own (AO3). This means that in order to sign up you must have an AO3 account. If you would like to sign up and do not have an AO3 account, please email [email protected] and we will send you an invite.

The AO3 Collection for the Exchange is here.

In order to better organize the collection and make the matching process easier, the exchange is linked to the following Tag Set. Also due to the anticipated size of the exchange, we are not having a dedicated nominations period, because of that please see below to make sure that you will be able to request and offer things you want to request.

Characters

The minimum requirement to sign up is to request and offer at least two characters from the linked tag set. You will only be able to request and offer characters that are included in the tag set. We have endeavored to add pretty much every named character that appeared in either the Mighty Ducks Trilogy and Mighty Ducks Game Changers. If there is a character you would like to request and/or offer please contact us and we will add them. Please be advised that only characters who have appeared in either the movies and or Mighty Ducks Game Changers will be added to the tag set.

If you would like to request or offer to write general team fics, you can nominate groups as characters. Right now you do have the ability to ask for The Ducks as a whole group and the Don't Bothers as group as well. Those will count as a singular character for the purposed of the requests.

Please be advised that while you will be free to request to write fic focused on a Reader and or Original Characters, you will not be able to request them specifically in the characters field, and will not be added to the tag set.

Relationships

In addition to requesting and offering characters, you will be able to request specific relationships as well. You are not required to request or offer to write any specific relationship. However if you would like a story focused on any relationship, we suggest you add them as a request. We also required that all relationships requested and offered only include characters listed in the tag set. If you request a relationship involving a character not in the tag set your sign up will be edited to remove that relationship.

Because the number of possible relationships that can be formed, relationships are not automatically included in the tag set. You will be able to request and offer any relationship that already has an existing tag on AO3. If you want to request a relationship that does not have a pre-existing tag on AO3 you will need to ask us to add it to the tag set.

We will be adding to the tag set up to the close of sign ups and sign ups will not be closed until all requests to add to the tag set are resolved, that said please put in these requests as soon as possible. (See below about how to do this)

The best way to tell if a relationship has a tag is to search the relationship (formatted as "Character A/Character B" or "Character A & Character B") on AO3 and if no fics turn up, please contact us to add it to the tag set. If fics do turn up then there is no need and you will be free to request the relationship. Also tags that are already in AO3 or the tagset will be automatically suggested in the Relationships field.

Generally, due to the newness if you want to request any relationship specific to or involving characters exclusive to Game Changers you will most likely need to ask us to add the relationship to the tag set. However if the relationship only involves original trilogy characters, we ask you to check before requesting relationships to be added.

"/" vs "&"

You can request all sorts of type of relationships as long they involve the characters of TMD & TMDGC. If you want a focus on a romantic and/or sexual relationship please use the "/" and use the "&" for all non-romantic and/or sexual relationships. Please use the standard format of ships for AO3 which is generally listing each character in alphabetical order using the appropriate connector for the type of relationship you would like to request. Do not use ship names.

Contacting the Mods

If you would like to request a character or relationship be added to the tag set please send an email to [email protected] or ask (Not Both, please choose one or the other). We ask that you send only one email or ask with all the characters and relationships you want added. To make things easier for us please start the ask or put in the subject line "Please add the following to the tag set" and then list characters and relationships you would like added. We will respond to confirm once they are added and you are clear to use them in your sign up.

If the character is already in the tag set or the relationship already has an established tag on AO3 you do not need to request they be added to the tag set.

The (First Ever!) Quack Attack Fic Exchange

Intro

Now that we have quite a few followers and sign ups begin in little over a week, it's time to get hyped! and also explain a little bit how this is going to work.

So what is ‘The Quack Attack’ exactly?

The Quack Attack is the first ever fanfiction exchange for Disney's The Mighty Ducks. Like other similar exchanges, the basic concept is you sign up to write at least one fic for another specific person and you will receive at least one fic from another person.

The general expectation is that if you sign up, you are committing to writing one complete fanfiction that is at least 1,000 words about at least one character or relationship as requested by your specific recipient.

We’ll provide more specific sign up instructions right before sign ups open, but for now please note the following things:

This exchange is being hosted at the Archive of Our Own (AO3), therefore you must have an AO3 account in order to sign up. If you do not have an AO3 account please email [email protected] and an invite will be sent to you.

Please follow this tumblr for all updates and notifications. You can contact the mods by the email above or sending an ask (anonymous is on) and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Please, please, please reblog and share the initial posts made to this tumblr to help get the word out. We are aiming for at least 10 sign ups to provide a meaningful exchange, whatever help you can get to spread the word will be appreciated!
