Strange how adding a privacy curtain back there can make the little room look that much cosier!
Reminds me though, I STILL need that one piece of Moogle wallpaper to cover that blank partition...

Well! As much as I love Lalarlen, I was starting to miss both TSW!Arlen and Hyurlen, so...
...here he is! I’ve been working on a total revamp of his backstory. The details are still sketchy, but he is the son of two eminent research explorers based in Hingashi, though Arlen was born and fully raised on the Azim Steppes. He eventually came to Eorzea some time after the Calamity to GET A COLLEGE EDUCATION AT AN INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTION and here he is, currently living in Gridania.
His parents (now living in Kugane) raised him to be a strong, bright and good boy. And he’s... ... ...
...well, he’s good, at least.
He’s not the WoL and he does not have the Echo, but he may retain some of the “abilities” TSW Arlen had, like destroying his stove in a telekinesis/Alphabetti Spaghetti-themed accident. There was also this one, found in his official TSW profile:
He also has the limited ability to produce a temporary copy of any (inanimate, inorganic) object. This skill is an Askew family quirk, and some past Askews were rather famous for it, even though it’s regarded as little more than a party trick.
Since the ability is psychic, he is limited by what he sees, knows and imagines for himself. Complex objects are usually reproduced as little more than strange piles of physical nonsense. Paintings are recreated devoid of texture, detail and natural artistry. And sadly, money is definitely and obviously counterfeit.
The object is tangible and very real for the duration of its existence, which is also determined by the object’s complexity. Something like a small screw could last for years, but his questionable attempt at recreating a Chatter Telephone only lasted for a few minutes.
Also, no word on whether Hyurlen will be discovered “burned” into the dead side of a LaserDisc, found in an occult flea market...
