I think it's so important to have a "nature" calendar in your head, like a way of tracking time that's completely separate from anything work or obligation related, not holidays or anything stressful. For instance I look forward to august because at 8pm every night house finches hang around my window for a few weeks. In spring I love waiting for the magnolias to blossom. Just ways of tracking the time with zero stakes that's completely removed from life's zeitgeist and that you really look forward to

mmm okay so i just thought about what jensen said about the dream he’d had for supernatural’s finale, where dean meets a stranger and trades the keys of the impala for a motorcycle, because sam had died and he didn’t need a passenger seat anymore

so like yes, incredibly tragic and whydidsamhavetodie and all sorts of things

but did anyone stop to think about what it could mean in terms of dean’s liberation? character-wise, that is. the impala is such a tour de force of dean’s representation: the literal encasing of his life. it, and everything else he inherited, was handed down to him by john. it is as much his home as it is his cage, in a sense, although he loves her worn leather seats and gleaming black finish. so for dean’s final moments in the series to be trading the impala for something that could be so fundamentally his, something with open air and none of john’s rock tapes, or john’s car, or john’s weapons, or john’s life closing in around dean, well that’s —

that’s the most poetic ending to dean winchester’s appearance on supernatural that i can imagine. because he’d be free. he’d be finally, finally free.
