I am 33 now. I am almost 20 years older than my younger version, who first dreamed so hard about traveling and getting to know different people, places and cultures. I wanted that immediately, but as for most young Brazilians, that simply didn’t happen. But time went by…

Today, I am employed. I have travelled to countries other than my own. I have taken solo trips. I have seen beaches and snow. I got here… I got to travel!

But it wasn’t simple, easy or cheap (even though I never fly first class. That is beyond my pay grade). But it is worth it.

For all of you in your late teens or twenty-something years: ✨it takes time, but you will achieve it.✨ I didn’t make it as a kid or a teen, but I am still here and some dreams simply don’t fade.

I wish you the thrill of getting to an airplane for the first time and feeling the speed of it taking off. I wish you the inspiration of a new airport — and all of the different languages you’ll hear — can bring. I wish you the certainty of seeing weeks, months or years of preparation come to life when you feel the breeze and see the lights of a different place.

I still wish to travel a lot, and I hope you wish too. Think about it during your 9 to 5 job from Monday to Friday. That is what makes it possible. And that’s ok. I’m not here to tell you to leave it all behind and just go. But I am telling you to go if that’s your dream.
