Since the r-slur is making a comeback (you know, the word that starts with R, has six letters, and ends in D), I'm gonna make a little PSA:

Yes, it's an ableist slur.

Terms like "asshat," "head-up-ass," "up their own ass," and "high on their own farts" exist. There's also words like crap, dogshit, half-assed, assclown, and chucklefuck. And on the less vulgar side, there are terms like ridiculous, nonsense, train wreck, pointless, insipid, self-absorbed, pretentious, annoying, boring, contemptible, vile, and disgusting.

Substituting words like restarted, poptarted, brain damaged, smoothbrain, etc. is still ableist, because either 1. you obviously still mean the r-word, or 2. you're still using disability as an insult.

I know someone's gonna yell bait about this but idc, like, what? Do you want proof? Video evidence? Grow up.

So I (30x) really like Goya's Black Paintings. Like, Saturn Devouring His Son, Duel with Cudgels, A Pilgrimage to San Isidro. I think they're hypnotic, beautiful, evocative. They make me feel emotions I can't quite explain properly.

As the title says, sometimes I beat my meat to them. Whatever. It's not really about horniness. But the intent doesn't matter.

Recently (in a discussion about sexuality in art, I promise it was relevant, similar sentiments were being shared) I mentioned to my partner (33nb) that I do this. They were pretty taken aback.

Apparently, they find this 'gross' and 'kind of dodgy' because Goya's black paintings were never intended to be shared with a wider audience. They were art that he did not mean to share, painted on the walls of his house near the end of his life. They say it seems like the work is too personal to jerk off to, that it seems invasive or like a violation.

I don't think it's a big deal. The guy is dead, it's not like his ghost knows what I'm doing. It's a good thing to consider, but I don't think it ultimately matters, ethically.

So, I guess AITA for this?

I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

If there's one thing no professional interior designer can ever truly emulate, it's maximalism. Sure, you can put together a bold and loud-coloured room with daring patterns and a creative colour scheme, and a cute and quirky gallery wall with a fun and funky theme to it, but a real maximalist home always has some element that is simply fucked up. Like the ugliest goddamn piece of furniture you've ever seen, some piece of decor that makes you wonder why the fuck would anyone want that in their house. Your eyes land on it and your instant reaction is "thanks, I hate it." And it's at home in this household, it literally could not fit in and look like it belongs anywhere else.

That's the spirit of maximalism. Someone's instinctive talent of locating the most hideous kitchy porcelain hippo lamp that anyone has ever seen, and going "ooh, your place is in my living room."

And miraculously, somehow being correct.

#prev hi. making this comment i feel like im eavesdropping. however i used to be in a similar situation so bear with my albeit unwanted #comments. #i used to have this friend that showed his affection by being mean. i dont know whether it was all the time but to me it felt like it #also even though i knew he was joking id never feel ‘in’ on the joke bc being friendly-mean like that doesnt come naturally to me #and i dont really find humor in it that much. its fun sometimes but only in small doses and when its very obvious #this friend was a genuinely good person so once i talked to them like ‘this bothers me. i feel hurt’ they stopped #at first i tolerated it bc i didnt want my friend to walk on eggshells around me or sth #didnt want him to hold himself back #but letting him enjoy his humor was holding ME back. and causing me discomfort #so we tslked abt it and it stopped #his humor isnt more important than my comfort being around him yk? #it might be friendship but i still need to feel loved. being mocked as banter (even though its friendly) wasnt doing that for me #talk to your friends #relationships where u dont set a boundary doesnt last long #if youre unhappy abt something. talk abt it. if not for your sake then for the sake of yalls friendship #bc if you cant talk abt when u feel uncomfortable then it will pile up n come to a point where u cant stand to be sround ur friends #<- this might be entirely specific to me. but yeah coming from a similar experience this is how it turned out for me #so. avoid that ig?

Rule 49: No matter what it is, it is somebody's fetish. (Self explanatory, but in more modern times a reminder to be wary of people asking for things you don’t possibly believe could be a fetish)
