Saiki would absolutely work in a bakery/cafe. And he'd secretly be using his powers to bring customers in and make a lot of money for the business. He wouldn't be a manager nor would he want to, he'd be the cook in the back who doesn't interact with customers or even other employees. None of his coworkers can say for sure what he looks like because the cook area is only for the cook and the servers don't really go there much if at all. (Also because he's using his telepathy to block them from trying to focus on his face or features.)

This doesn't stop him from meddling though, and he's constantly using telekinesis to fix their problems. Like the serving line goes SO fast.

On the outside all it looks like he's doing is putting the pre-made cut dough into the oven and adding jams and such but behind the scenes he's running the whole thing and making enough money to afford a house in his early twenties.

Ok but what if polyamory and non-reciprocal kusuo and then kusuo getting an actual partner and now the group has a whole ass day reunion to talk abt it and how happy they are for him but how depressed they feel bc none of them was "the final choice" so all the chapters are a single character non-reciprocal love story with kusuo and they dealing with the fact that that's never going to be them so the whole thing is just a large therapy session

And there are a ton of rumors about who he's dating because different students see him with like 8 seperate people kissing his forehead and holding his hands and calling him little nicknames, but the truth is that they're all technically wrong? Cause Saiki isn't dating anyone but all of his friends are dating him?

And he's just... not stopping them.

And they don't expect him to show any affection back because they know him and love him for the way he is

And its not uncommon for them all to get on the topic of Saiki and they're just gushing to each other about how cute he looks today and how cool he is

Kubosai but its just Kusuo curling up into fetal position after a really stressful day and Aren curling around him like a protective ball and they fall asleep like that

Kubosai but its just Aren getting super excited about finding a new coffee flavored sweet and buying it for Kusuo, but he's so excited his accent slips in and then when someone asks about it he accidentally calls Kusuo his husband because he's been subconsciously thinking of Kusuo as his husband for years

Kubosai but its just Kusuo turning into a cat when he's tired of people because cats aren't expected to put up with shit and he starts putting Arens number on his lil collar because sometimes people will try to figure out who his owner is cause he's too clean to be a stray and when they call Aren will come pick him up

Kubosai but its just Kusuo bringing Aren with him when he teleports to the middle of nowhere to train, and Aren sits on the sidelines cheering enthusiastically, then Kusuo decides to ask Aren to try and get a hit on him so it turns into something of a spar with Aren swinging throw after throw and watching in awe as Kusuo manages to dodge each one and Kusuo is fighting a smile because as it goes on it gets harder to dodge and he feels intellectually stimulated for the first time in a long time

Kubosai but its just Kusuo staring at and admiring Arens hands on a lazy afternoon

Kubosai but its Kusuo reversing time on Arens injuries after a fight with a kiss on the forehead

Kubosai but its Kusuo and Aren breathing heavy and covered in scrapes and blood after a fight they didn't pick, Arens hands clenching and unclenching and Kusuos eyes glowing as they glare at any remaining potential enemy with a look that says "fucking touch him, I dare you."

Kubosai but its Aren laying on the grass with his eyes closed on a summer morning and Kusuo sits next to him with a book and he thinks heaven must be this moment for eternity

Sometimes highlighting and calling attention to someone's suffering and problems can help them and make them feel validated and heard! I wouldn't say you're mean to him for that!

Everyone needs a good cry to set them straight, and Saiki needs that cry more often than most. Giving it to him is a not a hindrance

You know, I haven’t thought about it a lot but I am pretty mean to Saiki, huh. I mean I talk about making him miserable but I’m always like “But he gets a happy ending :)” And then the happy ending takes 20,000 words of misery to get to it and it’s only like 2,000 words at most

Thinking,,, one of the things Kusuo had feared most happening during the Cat Tank arc, where someone he had "friendly feelings" towards gets roped into his life. Thinking about how he watched his body get stripped and his brother wanted to see more. Thinking about how it kept flashing back to when Kusuke gave him the limiters he turned it into a competition, telling him to protect his right one "even if it kills you," and how the manga shows them constantly fighting for it, showing Kusuo even waking up to Kusuke's 'games'. Thinking about Kusuo's stupid little "...Toritsuka...don't..." when he was standing there bleeding, and about how Kusuke had to instantly reassure him as he knocked out Toritsuka because he knew his little brother would go haywire if he thought for even a second that he'd killed him.

Thinking about how Kusuo took out his right limiter in the end, saying he "caused trouble" by living the life he wanted, in front of one of the people who originally planted the idea that he could hurt people just by existing in his head. Thinking about how the "trouble" wasn't even really Kusuo's fault, he just took on the blame for it because it all tied back into him just trying to exist and have friends.

Ugh, and the way Kusuke helped him with his pants, and how Kusuo—at his simultaneous strongest and most vulnerable—didn't even fuss, and the way his eyes shone when Kusuo promised to keep being his playmate,,, because he'd underestimated his little brother's ability to learn and grow just by having the support of other people, and how much Kusuo would let slide against him when it comes to the people he needs in his life.

I like this idea especially if it's Kusuo's personality and mannerisms that Aren is worshipping, instead of his powers and his usefulness. It's his personality Kuniharu insults the most, and he literally prays to Kusuo in the new years episode which is a form of worship over his powers

It's the person he is that Kusuo needs to be loved for, not the things he can do

I can imagine Kusuo turning his head just a little as if saying 'hmph' like the tsundere he very much is, only to have Aren laugh and tell him he's so cute when he does that all fond smiling and everything. And then Kusuo staring at him with those big eyes he gets every time someone proves him wrong in his jaded opinions about people before the whole area gets cold as Kusuo uses intense cyrokenesis to combat the intense blush that is trying to appear on his face

Okay but like can you IMAGINE the whiplash Saiki would get from being told by his dad his whole life “the world doesn’t revolve around you, your only purpose is to help me and help me provide for our family” to then being essentially worshipped by Kuboyasu for all of eternity?

Since Kurumi Saiki sews I'd like to think she's the one who puts holes in all of Kusuo's headwear for his limiters to stick out

Kuboyasu is sooo the dad friend of the group, which is incredible considering Kusuo is such a mother hen

Because he's such a shadow leader, the group can't really settle on who the mom of the group is, mostly assuming it has to be one of the girls, but behind the scenes, it's Kusuo

Aren picks up on it though and starts attending to Kusuo subconsciously on account of his deep rooted chivalry and desire for a traditional marriage dynamic

He doesn't realize the effect it has on Kusuo though, to be taken care of by such a masculine and trustworthy character

And of course it has major daddy vibes, but not in the normal way. Perhaps a little of traditional daddy issues thing, but moreso in the way parents will refer to each other as mommy and daddy when talking to their young children

So Kusuo is in a situation in his friend circle where he is a parallel of his home situation, where the father figure is caring for him not not because he is in the place of Kusuo's dad, but because Kusuo is in the place of his own mom.

And as Aren catches feelings, Kusuo sees soooo many similarities between the undying and all encompassing devotion the Aren has due to his chivalrous nature, and the undying and all encompassing devotion Kuniharu has for his mother, and it -definately- has him feeling things

There’s a joke about Kusuo’s daddy issues and kubosai that I don’t know if I’m strong enough to make. It’s not even the low-hanging fruit of just saying “haha kubo daddy” it’s more “haha Kusuo can’t handle affection from a guy who takes care of him and protects him”
