It is never too late to learn to speak Irish.

You do not have to be Irish to speak Irish.

Once you're out of school, there is no grammar police and most people are just excited to have someone to speak Irish with.

Incorporating Irish words into your day when you're not fluent (I have to go to the leithreas, throw it in the bruscar, that's a gorgeous gúna) is an act of decolonisation.

Helping people to understand the language is an act of love.

trying to write about my british political shows SUCKS because british politics suck. your government sucks. your parliament and your house of lords suck. why the fuck is your head of state a hereditary king. why doesn’t the westminister government have any sort of proportional representation. why don’t you have elections for the house of lord??? from my (albeit minimal) research it seems only a fraction of lords are elected, and they are not directy elected - they’re elected by “peers,” who are just other lords/rich people? a good portion of my draft relied on the assumption that there are elections for the house of lords. insane behaviour. this sucks

At this point, I feel like Thirteen's era got criticised no matter what happened during it.

Some fun standalone sci-fi stories? It wasn't being ambitious.

Some fun standalone stories with an interconnected season-long story-arc? This is too ambitious and no-one could follow it.

A serialised season with tons of interesting and fun plots, new characters as well as deepening character arcs? This is literally the most complicated thing ever; no-one could possibly enjoy this.

Characters of different ages from places outside of London and from diverse backgrounds and family dynamics? Pandering.

Canonically queer characters who fall in love steadily over time, as their friendship deepens? This relationship came out of nowhere and is also pandering.

we shouldnt be mean to usamericans, its not their fault. the first time theyre allowed to see the world map is on a very special day - their 25th birthday, when their parents take them to their old study room and pull out an incredible thing - a dusty old globe. thats the first time an usamerican learns other countries exist. their eye sparkle full of awe as they read names like argentina, laos, nigeria, serbia, croatia, tunis, china, turkey, mexico, finland, etc. however, the spell doesnt last long - their parents quickly put away the globe. they dont want their child to get hurt from this realization of other people living on the earth. from now on, it will be their special birthday tradition - seeing that amazing thing once a year.

I have so many opinions about how people write Arthur Pendragon. He’s so coddled. Almost every Merlin magic reveal/executed fic gives me psychic damage. Gwen and Gwaine would throw down. They’d team up to drag Merlin’s self destructive ass out of Camelot kicking and screaming. What do you do when your queen springs a sorcerer from your dungeon and one of your knights fucks off with him into places unknown
