SO it turns out disney itself might not be getting the money from the game and instead THQ nordic, might need more info from that but as the publisher that might be the case here

even so i still think we need to pressure disney regardless, even if not just for this game. once again if anyone has ideas lmk

(ngl i think disney should be pressured on multiple fronts, between funding horrible things and their movie quality dipping over the past few years lol. idk the last time i even bothered to see a new disney movie aside from "technically but it was scrapped and picked up by another studio" nimona)

let me just say, if you're the kind of armchair activist that only just goes around harassing fans of things instead of actual activism. ngl you're a prick. this isn't gonna help ANYONE and will either make the person A, think "wow this person is a jerk, i'm not gonna listen to them", or B, feel forced to apologize for being excited for one of their favorite, neglected series getting a remake and feel miserable.

this isn't how we get things done. this isn't how we make positive change. misery HALTS the motivation needed to drive change.

what we NEED to do is organize something to pressure disney to withdraw their funding. to let them know, yes! we are interested in your product. HOWEVER, due to what you're doing we unfortunately can't support you.

if we're loud enough, it may create a snowball effect of more people contributing. if anyone has any ideas of how we (individually or as a group) can pressure disney by telling them we won't support their product, please let me know!!

and if we win?

well, we'll have a game to look forward to :]

The game is by THQ, although, do not know how much disney gets out of the trademarks.

(That and disney trying to shove the game under the rug and mistreatment of junction point staff who wanted to work on the game more)

I'm sorry if you're tired of thinking about ofmd and that whole mess but goddamn... it's incredibly painful to see so many people trying to set up fundraisers to get their families out of gaza and the sudan and desperately trying to get their loved ones to safety, I've seen so many and everyday I check to see how much progress they've made, most of them still haven't hit their goal. It hurts to see people rally around a tv show and raise all this money for a billboard, and it's very frustrating to see how people have reacted to this criticism. Like bro tv shows get canceled sometimes there's more important stuff going on

Someone else said it better but to see a fundraiser for tv show renewal advertisements raise $20,000 in less than a day while it takes days/weeks/months/years/never for fundraisers for actual causes that help real people in need reach a goal of less is absolutely dystopian and shameful
