It is my pleasure to report that the answer to your question is “April 2023.” With the long-awaited return of the Planechase variant format alongside the release of March of the Machine Commander, the act of rolling the chaos symbol on the planar die (and triggering the corresponding ability on any active plane cards) was given its own keyword: those abilities now trigger “whenever chaos ensues.”

While largely an aesthetic change, this keyword also enables other spells or abilities to cause chaos to ensue. So far, this has only been used on a handful of cards, but special mention goes to this exceptionally apropos application from the Universes Beyond: Doctor Who Commander decks.
