7. Have you ever regretted a ship, romantic or otherwise?

Shore have.

Some that try to get too personal and some who didn't like hearing the word "no" and dear lawd has it landed me in some dark spots over the years. I'm thankful to have my own little group of friends and writing partners now but I wished there was someone back then brave enough to warn me. So instead of dishing stale tea I'd rather just say this:

Trust. Your. Gut.

It doesn't matter if they're popular, if they're "new" or have an interesting character. Not everyone gets the same treatment behind closed doors and there's people in this community who still suffer peer pressure/mistreatment in some way. It's a serious issue in the roleplay community that still fails to be properly addressed because we're often blinded by pretty images and gaudy sex appeal.

You may want to reconsider because you're worried for "being too bitchy" and "picky" and think that no one else will notice your character but pleaaaseeeee believe me when I say this; you'll meet the right people. It may not happen tomorrow or months from now but it *will* happen.

Always put your interest and well being first!

But it's the only reason why she gets a second glance. Old friends, ex-business partners, and colleagues extend their hands yet only to capture a chance to reshape a naïve young woman. To recreate the image they had of her mother by their own eyes; perverse, ignorant, and not nearly as intelligent. A puppet with a pretty face.

"Yeah, I knew what they were doing. What they really wanted.." After a while, the shame didn't bother her anymore. She performed their chores to the very letter and was reimbursed in return; everything felt easier when she didn't have to witness the consequences of her actions. "I learned greed kept you alive and sympathy just gets you involved in someone else's problems."

Heroes were in short supply. Who was she in the face of millions who needed rescuing? A missing mother and father. The answer to her problems lied in the hands of perfumed merchants, clutched between their fat fingers adorned with jeweled rings. Maybe if she was as clever, brave, as amicable as her...

15. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned when it comes to RPing ships?

Drink lots of coffee for unexpectedly long sessions. Have a prepared snack. Keep a planner book so you don't forget RP dates. Give as much as you take. Don't be afraid to have conversations.
