So I've been thinking about this post a little, and I thought I was more into the first one, but now I've kinda fixated on that second one. Half because I think there's an interesting way to do it and half because it let's me write my favorite ship in worm, Taylor/QA.

There's a lot of AU bits about this, including the fact that this is a universe with soulmates and soulmarks, because I think that would be cool. So Taylor has a set of four soul marks on her back, representing the other original undersiders.

and instead of the locker, the trio decide to burn off the soulmarks, which feels like getting stabbed in the soul, and Taylor triggers and becomes something sort of like a pyronite or a flame atronach.

School burns down as she heals from her wounds and the ash forms into a female shape (QA) that helps calm her down.

Also her power is to create ash clones with weaker powers of nearby capes, maybe

One of my hobbies is giving Taylor Hebert even more ironic awful fucked up powers bc she deserves to let loose a little.

What if she could shape her body so she had tons of claws and little manipulator arms and also big terrifying arms and she could split little parts of herself off and control them separately and also she's an obligate cannibal.

What if Annette Hebert was Eden and as she slowly died as Cauldron carved her up but she had enough left in her to try and be human for a bit, so she replaced the real Annette to try and understand humanity.

And also she viewed the Endbringers as her children and hated Eidolon for enslaving them, and when Taylor was born she connected her to QA so they fused.

And what if her slowly dying manifested as Annette getting sicker and sicker until she told Taylor everything on her deathbed which connected her fully to QA and she turned into an endbringer as her mother died.

Also Eden made it so that when she died the system that controlled the endbringers would be deactivated, so Leviathan comes to Brockton Bay to help his little sister grieve.

And Taylor turns into a 9 ft tall crystal woman that reflects and refracts every color that can copy and adjust powers near her because that's kind of what QA was built to do.

And the world just has to deal with the fact that the endbringers are grieving for this seemingly random woman and Cauldron is just losing their shit in the background.

There are three (3) acceptable versions of how a romance between Taylor Hebert and Rachel Lindt would happen.

1) two broken and probably autistic people find that they are comforted and understood by each other in a way they can't find anywhere else. A deep and fraught relationship featuring two broken people healing with each other.

2) Taylor goes all in on the whole "Rachel has a dog's mentality" thing and just proves that she's the pack leader and collars Rachel, who is perfectly okay with this.

3) Rachel sees this sad little drowned puppy of a person in their loft and immediately starts treating her like an abandoned puppy, basically adopting her.

In all three scenarios tattletale is beyond confused and infuriated by the whole thing.

so. a thought captured me the other day. about what kinds of cars the undersiders would drive if they could/did.

taylor - 1990 volvo 740. look at it. it just fits. practical and plain but kinda classy.

brian - i know everyone's thinking minivan or station wagon or sedan but honestly a 2005 ford mustang fits way too well. it's a muscle car that is generally widely regarded by car people as being thoroughly mediocre. brian, of course, would not know this. he would see a relatively inexpensive muscle car, think 'that looks cool' and buy it, not realizing that he is going through a midlife crisis at 17. aisha makes fun of him for it.

lisa - porsche 911 (paint: black with purple pinstriping). do i even need to explain.

rachel: older pickup truck, not sure what model (she doesn't care) with off-road tires and upgraded suspension. rusty, smells like dog food, and is probably pretty messy.

aisha: wins award for most terrifying car on the list. heavily modified dodge viper. swapped cams, bored cylinders, forged parts, turbochargers, upgraded exhaust, the works. also has a very cool paint job (something like jet black with neon pink and green accents). the kind of car the main antagonist in a movie about street racing would have.
