𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 3 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘢 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬 🌺
1. acknowledge your cravings 🥝
write down your cravings (i do it in my notes app) and promise yourself that you’ll have the food eventually (even if you won’t). imagine yourself eating the food that you’re craving in depth and make yourself think you already ate it. if you eat the food your craving, the taste will go away within 30 minutes anyways. this will cause you to still be hungry and still crave it, and it can trigger you to keep feeding your cravings.
2. combatting cravings 🦀
smelling candles or perfume really helps me personally. especially smell anything that gives you comfort when you smell it. if all else fails, i let myself smell the food i’m craving and imagine i ate it. be careful with this though, it doesn’t work for everyone and might make you hungrier. to make myself stop wanting to eat, i also look at thnspo. stay away from the kitchen/anywhere where food is!!! if you can, take a relaxing bath or shower and do some skin care/body care. this makes me feel more “clean” which makes me not want to eat.
3. staying motivated 🐚
the hardest part about following through is fighting off your brain. when i fast i always get thoughts like “you’ll just eat under 50cals, it will be fine if you just take a bite”. you have to stay strong, when you feed one craving you’ll feed the rest. it’s so much easier to not eat when you’re fasting, one bite of food will make you even hungrier. don’t torture yourself. it might sound crazy, but i imagine those thoughts as the people in my life who i envy trying to sabotage me. or just strictly tell yourself no. use anything you can to block out those thoughts. do not let yourself convince you that you need to feed into your cravings.
4. distractions 🐬
play video games, put on a tv show or movie that you can get really emotionally invested in, or set mini-projects for yourself to finish. i clean/organize specific areas and it makes me feel clean which also stops me from being hungry, but when i’m feeling really low energy i love sketching out room designs for myself <3. i recommend doing something hands-on that can replace eating.
5. comfort 🥥
when you’re taking away a common main source of comfort (eating), you have to find other ways to make that up or you’ll feel miserable. use a heating pad on your stomach (you can fill a sock up with rice and put it in the microwave next to a cup of water to make a heating pad if you don’t have one) and cover up with soft blankets. you can also put your blankets in the dryer. i sometimes heat up water and drink hot water with lemon, this can really help if you’re craving warm food. infused water is also really good and it helps me drink more water. most of the time I slice up cucumber and lime and put that in my water, but here are some other good combinations: lemon and mint leaves, strawberries, lemon and lime, & cucumber and mint leaves.
6. nourishment 🌸
make sure you still get nourishment during fasting!! i take: ashwagandha, magnesium, b-12, vitamin a + b + c (and sometimes e), and cranberry pills. i heavily recommend magnesium, b-12, and vitamin c, but do your own research and find what works best for you <3

Eating for pleasure is a trap.
“It’s okay to have it in small portions”.
But it isn’t fucking satisfying.
Then, you have more…
And it isn’t any more satisfying.
Actually, food is never satisfying.
I can’t remember a single time food gave me true, meaningful satisfaction.
True, meaningful satisfaction is when I keep up a whole day of determination, go to bed and realize that I was perfectly disciplined.
Cravings are just emotional moods in disguise.
I must not forget this and manage my moods accordingly.
The fact that I forget it makes me no different to a dog or a pig or any other undisciplined creature.
