Nah, the eclipse a few weeks ago caused a rift in spacetime that trapped me in a post-death timeloop forcing me to re-live the cycles of my guilt until I achieve enlightenment in approximately 10 x 10¹⁰⁰ lifetimes. They gave me a computer though so I can still post things on the internet and grind in Final Fantasy XIV 👍

Not sure if this has been asked yet, but would you consider setting up some sort of donation page to allow others a way to support your work? 🙂

The thought has crossed my mind, but it's one of those things where getting money involved would turn something that's mainly a hobby into something of an obligation, since it would put me in this mindset of "people are giving me money for me to write so I need to do this pronto", and I feel that would negatively impact the overall quality since I'd basically pressure myself into writing when I'm not exactly in the right mindset for it. I know donations aren't the same thing as commissions but that is just how my brain works 🙃

Plus I wouldn't even know where to begin with setting something like that up anyways. All of that said, I might start looking deeper into it if the demand for it picks up - but as it stands, with how glacial the content drip has been from me, I don't think I'd even be able to bring myself to make a donation page with a straight face.

I wish I could say things are going well but honesty demands otherwise. One of those things where things started looking up and then my hopes were suddenly and swiftly dashed. The nonspecific 'personal life stuff' strikes again in full force. Things will be very different for myself and others in my life in the coming future.

I'm just tired, man. And it's the kind of tired that sleep can't fix.

Hey guys, still not dead yet. I wish I had more to talk about more often so the few posts I do on here aren't just shit to prove I still have a pulse, but the simple truth of the matter is that there's usually not much of anything to really talk about on my end.

But right now, there is!

There's a couple things - first, we're about a month out from the one-year anniversary of Act I's final chapter being published, which is very bizarre to think about because time is moving quicker than I can acknowledge and that just makes me vehemently aware of how long folks have waited for anything regarding Act II. And I know y'all are patient, and I know I shouldn't feel bad about actual real life shit that matters more than funny squid video game fanfiction taking precedence over said funny squid video game fanfiction (😱 no way) BUT I feel bad anyways. On the bright side, in the time between then and now, I feel as though my writing has improved dramatically thanks to the effective training courses that have been the shit I've written for the tabletop I'm running. I also may have discovered a latent passion for acting, as I genuinely brought myself to tears while voicing an NPC's emotional breakdown? I never even did theater in school, I just got so caught up in the moment that I felt it.

All of that said though, I think I'm almost at a point where I can start working on Act II once again!

Writing a fanfiction series and running a very plot-heavy tabletop game at the same time is not a combination I'd recommend. Like I said in my last post back in mid-January, it's definitely been a contributing factor to the delay (while certainly not the main one), but also like I said in that post, we're wrapping it up soon. The current projected end date is somewhere in early March, but it might be closer to late March/early April depending on the pace my players go at. So before I get myself caught too deep in planning the next game I run for those goobers, I wanna step back from that for a hot minute and kick this series back into gear - if not for you guys, then for my own sanity's sake.

Does that mean for certain Act II will be finished soon? I dunno. There's a non-zero chance that I might scrap what I've got so far and just start with a blank page once again, but at least that would mean there's progress actually happening.

Anyways... yeah, that's about it. Definitely nothing else worth talking about in regards to Splatoon in the month of February in the year 2024. Nope. Certainly not.

Oh yeah if you're wondering where the HE Act I illustrations are at they're kind of in limbo as well because I am holding the artist at gunpoint to draw art for the tabletop I'm running instead. The game is nearing it's end so I've recruited him to make it a memorable experience. Rest assured, he hasn't forgotten about it either.

Admittedly, running this game has been a contributing factor to slow progress on Act 2 (among other things) BUT I wouldn't trade it for the world. Love making my players cry in real time 😈

Hi! I found your fics after going on a bit of a splatoon binge, and I just wanted to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. I love the way you write charaters and how they interact, I love how well you set up the story and its events, and I love how much thought you put into it! One of my favorite things to do was to go back through it with the substitution cipher and see what was being said that I couldn't understand, and I just wanted to come by and compliment you.

Also I couldn't stop thinking about what would have happened if Shiver had managed to get Kaleb's mask off in the market. I can imagine it would be both funny and dramatic.

Thank you so much! If you've gone through and read my rambles here, then you'd understand that at the moment there's a bit of an indefinite hiatus going on at the moment due to certain factors beyond my control. That said, reading stuff like this makes me more happy than you could know, and are what encourage me to not just throw in the towel altogether. I may write glacially slow, and only show signs of life once every now and then, but I'm still here!
